Harvey Milk Page:

"Milk moved from New York City to settle in San Francisco in 1972 amid a migration of gay men to the Castro District. He took advantage of the growing political and economic power of the neighborhood to promote his interests, and three times ran unsuccessfully for political office. His theatrical campaigns earned him increasing popularity, and Milk won a seat as a city supervisor in 1977, his election made possible by and was a key component of a shift in San Francisco politics."

This is INFLAMMATORY and clearly hoomophobic language on an LGBT page!

Please arrange for a review of the changes made by Asian Hornet and others!

Edits to Harvey Milk[edit]

Hello, GeaVox! I am writing on your talk page because I would like to explain to you why I have reverted (changed back) your two recent edits to the Harvey Milk article.

Wikipedia is an encyclopedia and all content must have a neutral point of view. The Harvey Milk article is a featured article, which means it meets Wikipedia's highest content standards. (Only about 0.1% are featured!) If you believe that the wording on the article is biased against its subject matter, please ask for other editors' neutral opinions on the article's talk page (Talk:Harvey Milk).

For other reasons that I reverted your edits please see the Manual of Style's section on dashes and its guidelines on the usage of English varieties. If you have any more questions for me, feel free to write on my talk page or visit the help desk.
