User:Rosguill could you be more specific about why you feel this History Channel series is not notable? Low ratings? Low viewership? It's been broadcast on History Channel affiliates around the world. The reason I created the article was because there was little information available about the series. Isn't that one of the functions of an encyclopedia, to provide people with information? Ghostofnemo (talk) 00:02, 19 August 2019 (UTC) Are you sure this has nothing to do with the subject matter of the series? Ghostofnemo (talk) 00:10, 19 August 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Ghostofnemo, it is not notable because it does not meet the general notability criteria which are very clearly laid out at WP:GNG. I've looked over the additional sources provided, and none of the sources can be considered to be significant independent coverage of the subject: they are all either database listings or press releases. If you disagree with my assessment, we can take this to WP:AFD, but I highly doubt that you will hear anything different from editors there. signed, Rosguill talk 01:00, 19 August 2019 (UTC)[reply]
How many TV series have articles or books written about them? That seems like a pretty high bar. Being broadcast around the world doesn't make a program notable? If not, what does? Winning awards? High ratings? Famous people in the cast? It has a hashtag on Twitter: https://twitter.com/hashtag/breakingmysterious?lang=en For comparison, the Fox TV series Dads (2013 TV series) has a Wikipedia article. It ran one season. It's notable for being ranked as the 2nd worst TV show in modern history: Critic score: 15/100, User score: 3.7/10, What critics said: "A crass generation-gap sitcom with the wit if not the intelligence of an elementary-school flatulence contest.": https://www.businessinsider.com/worst-tv-shows-of-all-time-critics-2016-10 Ghostofnemo (talk) 01:53, 19 August 2019 (UTC)[reply]
It is the standard bar that is used for every single subject on Wikipedia (also, TV series reviews in reliable publications such as The A.V. Club, Entertainment Weekly, as well as major newspapers, are pretty common). As someone who reviews several new articles a day, many of which are about TV shows, I can assure you that there is no dearth of written material about TV shows in reliable sources.
As for the show Dads, it doesn't matter that it's terrible, it matters that critics wrote about it. If you can find three or four reviews of Breaking Mysterious in reliable sources, I'd be more than happy to accept the article, even if they all say that it is a terrible show. I would suggest carefully reading through Wikipedia's notability guidelines, as they should provide the answers to the questions you're asking. signed, Rosguill talk 02:19, 19 August 2019 (UTC)[reply]
This proposed deletion doesn't appear to be listed at WP:AFD yet. I think since the series has been and still is broadcast around the world, deals with important subject matter, and there are few sources of information about the series, it would be unfortunate if it were deleted. Since you are the person suggesting deletion, I suggest you post your proposal to delete it there and we can see what some other editors think. Ghostofnemo (talk) 04:27, 19 August 2019 (UTC)[reply]
