Thanks kindly for the help on Robot

Hi Glimmer. I just wanted to tell you how much I appreciate the help you given on Robot (Doctor Who) and I must thank you for that. I see you've done a lot of great work here writing GA's and FA's and I'm thankful that editors like you volunteer to help make Wikipedia better. Like many, I also enjoy improving our articles, but I'm not very good with grammar and writing in general. But I can add citations and dig up information, so that's what I tend to do. If you don't mind, could you keep an eye out for any grammer mistakes I make on Robot? I tend to make a lot of them. Thanks. Anyhoo, I just wanted to tell you how grateful I am for the support you've given to the project. Thanks very much. kind regards. 64.40.54.55 (talk) 18:47, 19 January 2013 (UTC) You can reply here and I'll see it. I don't have a talk page as I'm a dynamic IP. Cheers. 64.40.54.55 (talk) 18:51, 19 January 2013 (UTC)

You're welcome! Your help is greatly appreciated too. I've got an eye on the classic series (feel free to utilize this page) but I'm really only limited to recent reception and clean-up, since I only have major production material for Genesis of the Daleks, Earthshock, and Remembrance of the Daleks (in the form of the DVDs). Anyway, I'll certainly look out for grammar and format as I have casually been. Once you have all your information organized, you might want to fully adopt the bibliography citation format--that way you can put the books/magazines in the bibliography section and only cite the author, year, and page number in the in-line citations (City of Death uses this format). I guess I should note that I haven't actually seen Robot yet (on my 70s watch, I'm on The Green Death) so I haven't look at the plot very much and haven't done reception like I usually do. 64.40.54.55 - it's not difficult to register an account, and there are many benefits, not just a dedicated talk page.
City of Death uses a modified form of Shortened footnotes, in that not all of the inline citations are exclusively author/year/page. To see Shortened footnotes in a full-blown form, see NBR 224 and 420 Classes. --Redrose64 (talk) 19:38, 19 January 2013 (UTC)
Ack, sorry, that's right. I was going off memory. Glimmer721 talk 20:43, 19 January 2013 (UTC)

Jenna-Louise Coleman again

Hi, further to this thread and this one, I've found a YouTube clip of one of Jenna-Louise Coleman's most emotional scenes in Emmerdale.

The story so far: budding journalist Jasmine Thomas (age 19) has been gathering material on the McFarlanes, a criminal drugs gang, with a view to turning them over to the police and writing a story about it. She has discovered that her policeman boyfriend, Shane Doyle, is involved with the gang, so she goes to Doyle's flat to search for evidence. Meanwhile her friend Debbie Dingle (age 20) has found out what the McFarlanes can be capable of, and tries to warn Jasmine. Being unable to contact her by telephone, and sure that Jasmine would attempt to search Shane's flat, Debbie sets off for Shane's flat in her car.

Now read on... https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=k__oxD1LEoE

Cast in order of appearance:

It's from 2 December 2008, and is edited down from a one-hour episode - most of the removed content concerned matters unrelated to this storyline. You can spot some of the edits, because at one point we see the character Jasmine Thomas sit down wearing a purple coat - the camera cuts away and then back - and the coat is on the sofa nearby. Apart from that, not all of the sequence is present - a few seconds of violence at about 09:20 have been removed.

When you have watched this, you should understand what I was saying about the amount of emotion that Jenna-Louise Coleman could bring to her character. At the time, Coleman was 22 years old and Webb was 20; they had been in Emmerdale for three and six years respectively. Coleman would leave in Spring 2009, but Webb is still present, apart from six months maternity leave during 2010. --Redrose64 (talk) 20:19, 27 January 2013 (UTC)

I'll check it out. I was actually just working on the Clara Oswald page earlier. I really liked her in the Christmas special. Only about 2 months until the return! Glimmer721 talk 23:58, 27 January 2013 (UTC)

Re:TNG episode navboxes

I don't know why it was reverted, I've had a look at the similar X Files templates and the episodes in those are quoted. Miyagawa (talk) 17:33, 27 January 2013 (UTC)

I loved "Cause and Effect"! I always wished they followed up the Bozeman crew in a later series, but I guess they only did it in literature. I'm aiming to get the earlier season ones up to GA first, but I occasionally switch to a more memorable later season episode (such as "Devil's Due" and "Lessons" recently) as it's a bit of a carrot and stick approach. I.e. I made myself do "Code of Honor" before I could do "The Battle" (the next project). I've just got a copy of another reference book that Memory Alpha uses, but that only goes up to the end of season 5, so I'm likely to stick to those for now. I'm also playing around with a replacement for List of Star Trek: The Next Generation cast members at User:Miyagawa/sandbox. The tables themselves are nowhere near complete at the moment (Nemecek has an annex at the back with the list of every TNG guest actor which I plan to use as a reference) but I'm trying to get the style along the lines of the Featured List List of Grey's Anatomy cast members. Miyagawa (talk) 19:09, 27 January 2013 (UTC)
Doctor Who was my first love really, I remember getting up on Sunday mornings to watch whole runthroughs of the old series episodes on UK Gold. I guess my first Doctor was technically Tom Baker, but the first one I really remember was Colin Baker although the one I really consider to be "my doctor" is Sylvester McCoy. I dunno why, but from Time and the Rani onwards I can remember most of the episodes. I probably would have chosen to work up Who episodes, but I saw others were already doing it and the Star Trek ones were so unloved. I can't wait to see what they'll cook up for the anniversary! The Angels Take Manhattan

Hi Glimmer, I clarified the last remaining items still present before I can pass the article as a GA. Let me know when you get around to tackling them. WesleyDodds (talk) 00:26, 29 January 2013 (UTC)
