The following pictures have been deleted because of copyright issues. You have to prove you got permition or that you own this pictures to an administrator before you upload. You should do this as soon as posible, repetitive use of copyright violations can block you from any edits.Purplebananasandelephants (talk) 23:40, 10 April 2009 (UTC)[reply]

April 2009[edit]

If you have a close connection to some of the people, places or things you have written about on Wikipedia, you may have a conflict of interest. In keeping with Wikipedia's neutral point of view policy, edits where there is a conflict of interest, or where such a conflict might reasonably be inferred from the tone of the edit and the proximity of the editor to the subject, are strongly discouraged. If you have a conflict of interest, you should avoid or exercise great caution when:

  1. editing or creating articles related to you, your organization, or its competitors, as well as projects and products they are involved with;
  2. participating in deletion discussions about articles related to your organization or its competitors;
  3. linking to the Wikipedia article or website of your organization in other articles (see Wikipedia:Spam); and,
  4. avoid breaching relevant policies and guidelines, especially those pertaining to neutral point of view, verifiability of information, and autobiographies.

For information on how to contribute to Wikipedia when you have conflict of interest, please see our frequently asked questions for organizations. For more details about what, exactly, constitutes a conflict of interest, please see our conflict of interest guidelines. Thank you. Moonriddengirl (talk) 01:44, 11 April 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Image permission problem with Image:Dknaggs.jpg[edit]

Image Copyright problem
Image Copyright problem

Thanks for uploading Image:Dknaggs.jpg. I noticed that while you provided a valid copyright licensing tag, there is no proof that the creator of the image (or other media file) agreed to license it under the given license.

If you created this media entirely yourself but have previously published it elsewhere (especially online), please either

  • make a note permitting reuse under the GFDL or another acceptable free license (see this list) at the site of the original publication; or
  • Send an email from an address associated with the original publication to permissions-en@wikimedia.org, stating your ownership of the material and your intention to publish it under a free license. You can find a sample permission letter here.

If you did not create it entirely yourself, please ask the person who created the image to take one of the two steps listed above, or if the owner of the image has already given their permission to you via email, please forward that email to permissions-en@wikimedia.org.

If you believe the media meets the criteria at Wikipedia:Non-free content, use a tag such as {{non-free fair use in|article name}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:Image copyright tags#Fair use, and add a rationale justifying the image's use on the article or articles where it is included. See Wikipedia:Image copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.

If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have provided evidence that their copyright owners have agreed to license their works under the tags you supplied, too. You can find a list of files you have uploaded by following this link. Images lacking evidence of permission may be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Purplebananasandelephants (talk) 01:56, 11 April 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Your recent edits[edit]

Hi there. In case you didn't know, when you add content to talk pages and Wikipedia pages that have open discussion, you should sign your posts by typing four tildes ( ~~~~ ) at the end of your comment. If you can't type the tilde character, you should click on the signature button located above the edit window. This will automatically insert a signature with your name and the time you posted the comment. This information is useful because other editors will be able to tell who said what, and when. Thank you! --SineBot (talk) 02:45, 11 April 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Welcome[edit]

Hi HauntedKid. It looks like your start here at Wikipedia has been a bit rocky! Unfortunately no one has yet officially welcomed you. Our welcoming process includes one of many "welcome messages" that contain links to useful guidelines and policies. Perhaps if someone had left one of these messages for you earlier, some of your troubles could have been avoided! I hope I can remedy that now. I personally like this welcome message the best, I think it has a whole slew of useful info that's well organized, and can steer you in the right direction towards becoming a valuable editor here. I hope your rocky start won't leave you with a bad impression of Wikipedia; generally we're a helpful bunch here, so feel free to ask for help when you need it. Best regards, --AbsolutDan (talk) 03:10, 11 April 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Autobiographies; conflict; where to find help[edit]

Hi. Thank you for your understanding with this situation, and no apologies necessary: you didn't break any hard and fast rule. Autobiographies are not forbidden, though they are strongly discouraged. I'm sorry that I didn't have more time to address you when I was alerted to the article last night (it was night in my part of the world :)). Purplebananasandelephants is somewhat inexperienced and may have alarmed you with the suggestion that you go "as soon as possible" to assert your position. WP:COIN is not a disciplinary board. The purpose of the listing was to ask a contributor who was both experienced in those areas and not rushing to address a pile of messages after the computer was already meant to be turned off to take a look at the article and evaluate it to see how it might need to be handled. Sometimes an article might be nominated for deletion if it doesn't meet our inclusion guidelines; sometimes issues can be addressed less radically, by improving sourcing and making sure that the article meets our verifiability guidelines. In any event, I'm afraid that the speed and manner in which this fell out must have seemed less than welcoming, and I'm sorry. I had hoped that a COIN contributor might guide you through handling these issues. It was by no means my hope that you be made to feel that your contributions are unwelcome, and I apologize if that was the result.

While it's not a good idea for you to contribute your autobiography to Wikipedia, there are many articles in need of improvement, and I hope that you won't allow this rocky start to deter you from sticking around. There is a learning curve on Wikipedia, but many contributors who are willing to help you figure it out. You're more than welcome to drop by my talk page if you have questions. Wikipedia:New contributors' help page is specifically for newcomers, with various FAQs and a specialized help desk where new contributors can ask for assistance in figuring things out. (We also have a general help desk which serves both new and experienced contributors.) You can even ask a question right on your talk page and a volunteer will come answer it. All you have to do is place {{helpme}} (curly brackets and all) next to the text. --Moonriddengirl (talk) 12:42, 11 April 2009 (UTC)[reply]
