Where has the article on the unreleased Prince & the Revolution album Dream Factory gone? All links that used to go there now go to the page you moved without, as far as I know, discussion! Lianachan (talk) 11:42, 9 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Yes, I am absolutely certain that there was a page about the unreleased Prince album Dream Factory, which was linked to from several Prince pages (see Crystal Ball and the page of unreleased Prince projects for example). I had edited it slightly in the past myself, and had it on my watchlist - which is why I noticed the move. Lianachan (talk) 21:21, 9 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Orphaned non-free media (Image:SaGa1WSCBox.jpg)[edit]

Thanks for uploading Image:SaGa1WSCBox.jpg. The media description page currently specifies that it is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, it is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the media was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that media for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that all non-free media not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. BJBot (talk) 05:10, 24 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Image copyright problem with Image:Makaikingdom ps2box usa org 000boxart 160w.jpg[edit]

Thanks for uploading Image:Makaikingdom ps2box usa org 000boxart 160w.jpg. You've indicated that the image is being used under a claim of fair use, but you have not provided an adequate explanation for why it meets Wikipedia's requirements for such images. In particular, for each page the image is used on, the image must have an explanation linking to that page which explains why it needs to be used on that page. Can you please check

  • That there is a non-free use rationale on the image's description page for each article the image is used in.
  • That every article it is used on is linked to from its description page.

Hello, this is a message from an automated bot. A tag has been placed on Category:InuYasha places, by another Wikipedia user, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. The tag claims that it should be speedily deleted because Category:InuYasha places has been empty for at least four days, and its only content has been links to parent categories. (CSD C1).

To contest the tagging and request that administrators wait before possibly deleting Category:InuYasha places, please affix the template {{hangon}} to the page, and put a note on its talk page. If the article has already been deleted, see the advice and instructions at WP:WMD. Feel free to contact the bot operator if you have any questions about this or any problems with this bot, bearing in mind that this bot is only informing you of the nomination for speedy deletion; it does not perform any nominations or deletions itself. Re: Secret of Mana[edit]

No problem. I hope I'm laying a decent groundwork for others such as yourself to add some spiffy references. If the article looks like a quagmire it's hard to be motivated to improve it. Luckily this one is pretty good, despite the ugly bullet lists. Johnnyfog (talk) 01:29, 25 December 2008 (UTC)[reply]

An article you created maybe deleted soon: Tools which can help you[edit]

The article you created, Animals_&_Men maybe deleted from Wikipedia.

There is an ongoing debate about whether your article should be deleted here:

The faster your respond, the better chance the article you created can be saved. This is because deletion debates only stay open for a few days, and the first comments are usually the most important.

There are several tools and other editors who can help you keep the page from being deleted forever:

  1. You can list the page up for deletion on Article Rescue Squadron. If you need help listing your page, add a comment on the Article Rescue Squadron talk page.
  2. You can request a mentor to help explain to you all of the complex rules that editors use to get a page deleted, here: Wikipedia:Adopt-a-User. But don't wait for a mentor to respond on the deletion page.
  3. When try to delete a page, veteran editors love to use a lot of rule acronyms. Don't let these acronyms intimidate you.
Here is a list of your own acronyms you can use yourself: WP:Deletion debate acronyms which may support the page you created being kept.
Acronyms in deletion debates are sometimes incorrectly used, or ignore rules or exceptions.
  4. You can merge the article into a larger or better established article on the same topic.

If your page is deleted, you still have many options available. Good luck! travb (talk) 22:01, 31 December 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Hi[edit]

Good to see you around, Hibana. After almost a year and a half of practically no activity, I'm back for at least an hour or so a day. I am trying to drum up support for another major activity push to return WP:FF back to its glory days of 2006 and 2007. I guess you could say that I'm coming back like a phoenix, though I won't be nearly as active. — Deckiller 21:24, 13 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Fair use rationale for File:RomancingSaGaSFBox.jpg[edit]

Thanks for uploading or contributing to File:RomancingSaGaSFBox.jpg. I notice the file page specifies that the file is being used under fair use but there is not a suitable explanation or rationale as to why each specific use in Wikipedia constitutes fair use. Please go to the file description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale.

You can find a list of 'file' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "File" from the dropdown box. Note that any non-free media lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Sasikiran (talk) 21:03, 16 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Orphaned non-free image File:Squall Kingdom Hearts.jpg[edit]

⚠

Thanks for uploading File:Squall Kingdom Hearts.jpg. The image description page currently specifies that the image is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, the image is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the image was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that images for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

Unreferenced BLPs[edit]

Hello Hibana! Thank you for your contributions. I am a bot alerting you that 1 of the articles that you created is tagged as an Unreferenced Biography of a Living Person. The biographies of living persons policy requires that all personal or potentially controversial information be sourced. In addition, to ensure verifiability, all biographies should be based on reliable sources. If you were to bring this article up to standards, it would greatly help us with the current 941 article backlog. Once the article is adequately referenced, please remove the {{unreferencedBLP}} tag. Here is the article:

A-class assessments[edit]

Hi, I started the A-class Discussion for Viewtiful Joe and I hope that you can answer my problems. GamerPro64 (talk) 20:48, 30 January 2010 (UTC)[reply]

The article Hirofumi Taniguchi has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

No interviews or biographies available to expand/source the article

While all contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, content or articles may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{dated prod}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Removing {{dated prod}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. The speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. Hi Hibana, its Tintor2. Good work in Mega Man articles. Re: Prospective Mega Man music article(s)[edit]

Sure, I'm willing to give it a shot. No promises on GA status- it can be difficult to do if there's not a lot of reception and development information out there, but it will still be better than the scattered stubs we have today. I do think that it will need to be split up into multiple articles- Square Enix Music Online is telling me that there are 40 albums, which is a bit much to put into one article, even a list. I'll let you know when I start working on it. --PresN 19:35, 23 June 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Fair use rationale for File:Burningrangerscase.jpg[edit]

Thanks for uploading or contributing to File:Burningrangerscase.jpg. I notice the file page specifies that the file is being used under fair use but there is not a suitable explanation or rationale as to why each specific use in Wikipedia constitutes fair use. Please go to the file description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale.

If you have uploaded other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on those pages too. You can find a list of 'file' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "File" from the dropdown box. Note that any non-free media lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. FFL Sunsoft re-release[edit]

To be completely honest this has me a little concerned myself since the release dates I'm finding from various sources only seem to agree on 1998 and not a specific month, and even RPGamer's note only mentions they were to be released in April, not that they were actually released. In fact July 1998 seems to come from GameFAQs, which lists that as the date FFL2 was re-released...jeez. I'll check some of the magazines that were out at the time, see if any list a review or preview to help nail down the date.--Kung Fu Man (talk) 14:21, 14 April 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Hi! It seems you recently created an unreferenced biography of a living person: Hiroyuki Kitakubo. The community has decided that all new biographies of living persons must contain a reliable source that supports at least one statement made about the person in the article as per our verifiability policy. Please add references as soon as possible. Thanks! --LaraBot (talk) 00:10, 28 June 2011 (UTC)[reply]

The article Hiroyuki Kitakubo has been proposed for deletion because under Wikipedia policy, all biographies of living persons created after March 18, 2010, must have at least one reliable source that directly supports material in the article.

If you created the article, please don't take offense. Instead, consider improving the article. For help on inserting references, see Wikipedia:Referencing for beginners or ask at Wikipedia:Help desk. Once you have provided at least one reliable source, you may remove the {{prod blp}} tag. Please do not remove the tag unless the article is sourced. If you cannot provide such a source within ten days, the article may be deleted, but you can request that it be undeleted when you are ready to add one. --DAJF (talk) 01:51, 28 June 2011 (UTC)[reply]

If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on MAPS OAV requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A1 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because it is a very short article providing little or no context to the reader. Non-free rationale for File:Kens Labyrinth boxart.jpg[edit]

Thanks for uploading or contributing to File:Kens Labyrinth boxart.jpg. I notice the file page specifies that the file is being used under non-free content criteria, but there is not a suitable explanation or rationale as to why each specific use in Wikipedia is acceptable. Please go to the file description page, and edit it to include a non-free rationale.

If you have uploaded other non-free media, consider checking that you have specified the non-free rationale on those pages too. If the file is already gone, you can still make a request for undeletion and ask for a chance to fix the problem. If you have any questions, please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. A boy and his mutant jelly baby[edit]

Hi Hibana, please see my response to your post on my talk page, I'm listing some details here for you to use in the article (in my own words, these are not direct copies of the Retro Gamer article, unless in quotation marks).

Citations details = Retro Gamer issue 77, published by Imagine Publishing, the article writer is Stuart Hunt. It's on pages 70-73 of the magazine.

_________ Factoids:

  • Crane had intended ABAHB to the first "videogame to be simultaneously released as a game, toy and animated feature film". The producer of the first Transformers movie was brought in to oversee work on the film (I'm assuming this to be one of the producers of The Transformers: The Movie, though neither the film nor the producer are mentioned by name in the article). The film and toy lines were dropped because of deadlines, it would have been too difficult to divide production resources three-ways in the time given.
  • Crane saw the relationship between the Boy and the Blob as a way to put his own stamp on the advances in the adventure genre which had come about since his last entry in the genre, Pitfall II: Lost Caverns. Crame stated that he likes adventure games with puzzles. Since Pitfall 2 the adventure game genre had been expanded to include the use of tools within game environments, with the ability to collect and implement tools in different areas. He described displayed tool inventories as "not very elegant", and decided to find a different way of using different tools without the need for a tool inventory.
  • Once Crane had settled on the concept of a boy being followed by a blob, in the same way a dog would follow a boy (hence 'a boy and his blob'), he formed a wishlist of transformations for blob. Due to the limited graphical resolution of the NES, the selection of objects was based on how they would appear on screen. The list of transformations was brainstormed with artists, who in turn converted them into computer graphics. Crane called the ladder and the bridge "a must", but stated that several objects were rejected because their nature would not be immediately obvious to players. When he knew how these transformations would be represented in the game, he developed puzzles that could be solved with those transformations.
  • 14 different flavoured jellybeans were used in the game, each object was related - sometimes tenuously - to a particular flavour. A grape-flavoured jellybean was listed inthe game's manual, but does not appear in-game. Crane stated that this flavour of bean was included in the version of the game submitted to Nintendo for release. The grape-flavoured bean transformed Blob into a wall, and was a pun on the great wall of China (grape wall of China). "I believe that the wall was intended to deflect one of the centipede baddies, although I don't remember if that ever got implemented." (Please see the next section below, which explains what happened to the grape bean).
  • Crane stated that after the event he heard that ABAHB was "one of the most played games at Nintendo, working its way up to the top management". In the version submitted to Nintendo it was necessary to avoid becoming separated from the blob, as failing to do so would result in the player becoming stuck and unable to proceed. Although this was intentional, an influential member of Nintendo's senior management viewed it as a bug. This resulted in Nintendo stating "We need this fixed by tomorrow or the game won't make Christmas." Because of this Crane changed the grape jellybean to a ketchup one, allowing it to be thrown in order to summon Blob to the player's location.
  • The game was completed in six weeks (as stated in the WP article), according to the Retro Gamer article standard NES game development took from six ro eight months. In the last two days of development Crane went without sleep for 48 hours, after which he flew to the Chicago CES.
  • There are no sales figures mentioned. All the article does say is that the work put in resulted in them meeting the CES and Christmas deadline, and that "A Boy And His Blob proved to be a phenomenal success for Absolute Entertainment, going on to become one of the company's biggest hits and exceeding all the team's expectations." It received a Parents' Choice Award from the Parents' Choice Foundation, something that Crane is proud of. "I appreciated them before I was a parent, and even more after. A videogame should offer an enjoyable, fantasy release from the stresses of real life. You won't see my name on a game that advocates prostitution or drive-by shootings. Enough said."
  • Regarding the effort involved but subsequent success of the game, Crane stated "I have never been involved with a tougher project or a tougher schedule than A Boy and His Blob". And yet strangely, that is one of my fondest memories from my 33-year career in videogames."

_______

That's everything, a lot of the information regarding development time etc. is already in the article, so I skipped that bit bar a few little details, the main points of interest are the game's progression through Nintendo's internal product testing and the way the ketchup bean came to be. I hope this is of use to you Hibana, and hope to see the article hit GA or FA at some point in the future. Great work on the article. Someoneanother 19:25, 7 November 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Mega Man coverage in GameFan (specific numerical scores)[edit]

OK so like I said at my talk page, these are done in the style of Famitsu's Cross Reviews so you'll see three different scores from three different GameFan regulars. There is a tiny blurb of commentary and then a score breakdown covering graphics, music, control, play mechanics, and originality. I don't know how you want to handle this. One option would be to average the scores. Another option might be to give the score as a range (e.g. "GameFan gave Mega Man X2 a score between 83 and 89."). I'm not sure what works best here, but anyway here are the numerical scores.

  • [14] - Viewpoint - Mega Man X2. Diehard GameFan. Number 25 (Volume 3, Issue 1). January 1995. Pg.24.
(NOTE: reviewers from left to right are Dave Halverson sub nom. Skid, Nicholas Dean Des Barres sub nom. Nick Rox, and Dave Halverson sub nom. Takahara.)
  • NOTE: I couldn't locate numerical scores like this for either Mega Man 7 or Mega Man for Game Gear.
  • [15] - Viewpoint - Rockman X3. GameFan. Number 38 (Volume 4, Issue 2). February 1996. Pg.18.
(NOTE: reviewers from left to right are Dave Halverson sub nom. E. Storm, Kelly Rickards sub nom. K. Lee, and Matt Taylor sub nom. S. Quan.)

(NOTE: reviewers from left to right are Dave Halverson sub nom. E. Storm, Casey Loe sub nom. Takuhi, and Kelly Rickards sub nom. K. Lee.)
  • [17] - Viewpoint - Megaman 8. GameFan. Number 50 (Volume 5, Issue 2). February 1997. Pg.28.
(NOTE: reviewers from left to right are Dave Halverson sub nom. E. Storm, Nicholas Dean Des Barres sub nom. Nick Rox, and Mike Griffin sub nom. Glitch.)
  • [18] - Viewpoint - Megaman X4. GameFan. Number 58 (Volume 5, Issue 10). October 1997. Pg.24.
(NOTE: reviewers from left to right are Dave Halverson sub nom. E. Storm, Nicholas Dean Des Barres sub nom. Shin Rox, and Michael Hobbs sub nom. Substance D..)

Hope this helps. Let me know if everything comes through all right or if you need me to reupload anything. -Thibbs (talk) 04:04, 16 December 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Oh yes and I should mention that Dave Halverson is the editor in chief too so you could probably use him as the overall author if you need one. Cheers, -Thibbs (talk) 04:04, 16 December 2011 (UTC)[reply]
And a post post script... The image files I linked have been modified by me so that each scoring of a Mega Man game has the section header appended to the top to explain how the score breakdown works (i.e. to explain the G.C.P.M.O. portions, and to show who is the author of each scoring). In most cases though this is not how the original page looked. I've cut out all of the scores between the header and the score of interest. -Thibbs (talk) 13:21, 16 December 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Congratulations[edit]

Congratulations for passing Mega Man X (video game). And a late merry christmas!! Cheers.Tintor2 (talk) 16:08, 26 December 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Category:North America-exclusive video games[edit]

You've added a fair few games to this category, which are incorrect, noticely the Atari Lynx games, they arn't exclusive to North America, they have all been released in the UK which makes the selection invalid. So I have removed the cat from a number of games. I know a lot of the games in the category are very much invalid actually and the vast population of the category is wrong, as there are games in there was were released in Europe also. So i really don't understand the use of this category. Govvy (talk) 16:50, 1 July 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Mega Man articles[edit]

I've been meaning to find the time to post this to you, and since I'm taking an indefinite leave of Wikipedia, I guess it had better be now: You've been doing a great job on the Mega Man articles. I can easily remember when they looked pretty much like any other WP video game articles, and it's great to see them stand out the way they do now. Also, my belated apologies for the disagreement we had over the Reception section in Mega Man X4. I'm a big fan of the game, and in retrospect, I allowed my dismay at the fact that a professional publication gave it only 6/10 to color my synopsis - basically POV working the opposite of the usual way. I'm glad that my synopsis was fixed before too long when another editor pointed out its skewed slant. Again, sorry about that, and best wishes for your future editing.--Martin IIIa (talk) 12:52, 21 October 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Mobile Fighter G Gundam[edit]

Are you preparing this for GA? I was hoping you would be, it looks very good now, its better than most of the other Gundam articles by far. I was hoping we could form a partnership to improve the other articles in the Gundam scope. Of particular interest is the form and flow of the topic article on the Gundam franchise. Any interest? Onimusha 3 characters[edit]

I've been editing Onimusha 3: Demon Siege and I'm stuck with what to do with the character section. Do you think the information should be trimmed and moved to plot or that a character list should be created to retain the voice actors' information? Any other source such as the ones you often find would be useful too. Regards.Tintor2 (talk) 17:40, 29 August 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks, I already created a character list. While I could find a lot of sources for Demon Siege, I found little about Onimusha 2: Samurai's Destiny even though its producer Keiji Inafune tends to make a lot of interviews.Tintor2 (talk) 00:33, 31 August 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Mega Man X2 (blank)[edit]

Just curious ... Do you remember what was going on with the redirect at Mega Man X2 (blank)? The word "blank" makes it an unlikely search term in my opinion, and I'm wondering whether you might have any objections to a nomination at RFD. Of the three editors to the redirect (prior to my own categorization edit), you are the only one who still seems to be active.

The history seems to imply some repair of (page move or blanking) vandalism, or possibly repair of a cut-and-paste move. I don't see anything obvious that needs to be retained for attribution reasons, but I'm wondering whether you might know more than I would. --SoledadKabocha (talk) 02:41, 27 October 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Deletion discussion about Dragon Dice (video game)[edit]

Hello, Hibana,

I wanted to let you know that there's a discussion about whether Dragon Dice (video game) should be deleted. Your comments are welcome at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Dragon Dice (video game) .

If you're new to the process, articles for deletion is a group discussion (not a vote!) that usually lasts seven days. If you need it, there is a guide on how to contribute. Last but not least, you are highly encouraged to continue improving the article; just be sure not to remove the tag about the deletion nomination from the top.

Thanks,

Disputed non-free use rationale for File:Mega man powered up.jpg[edit]

Thank you for uploading File:Mega man powered up.jpg. However, there is a concern that the rationale provided for using this file on Wikipedia may not meet the criteria required by Wikipedia:Non-free content. This can be corrected by going to the file description page and adding or clarifying the reason why the file qualifies under this policy. Adding and completing one of the templates available from Wikipedia:Non-free use rationale guideline is an easy way to ensure that your file is in compliance with Wikipedia policy. Please be aware that a non-free use rationale is not the same as an image copyright tag; descriptions for files used under the non-free content policy require both a copyright tag and a non-free use rationale.

If it is determined that the file does not qualify under the non-free content policy, it might be deleted by an administrator seven days after the file was tagged in accordance with section F7 of the criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions, please ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thank you.

ATTENTION: This is an automated, bot-generated message. This bot DID NOT nominate any file(s) for deletion; please refer to the page history of each individual file for details. Thanks, FastilyBot (talk) 01:05, 16 July 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Notice

The file File:Hakusho soundtrack.jpg has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

Non-free album cover being used in a decorative manner in YuYu Hakusho#CDs. Non-free album cover art is generally allowed to be used for primary identification purposes in stand-alone articles about albums, but its use in other articles is generally only allowed when the cover art itself is the subject of sourced critical commentary as explained in WP:NFC#cite_note-3 and the context for non-free use required by WP:NFCC#8 is evident. There is no such commentary for this particular album cover anywhere in the article.

While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, pages may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated files}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the file's talk page.

Please consider addressing the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated files}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. A tag has been placed on Category talk:Mana (series) media requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section C1 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the category has been empty for seven days or more and is not a disambiguation category, a category redirect, a featured topics category, under discussion at Categories for discussion, or a project category that by its nature may become empty on occasion.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Notice

The file File:Viewtiful joe soundtrack.jpg has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

Non-free album cover being used in a decorative manner in Viewtiful Joe (TV series)#CDs. There is no such commentary for this particular album cover anywhere in the article, and the use of soundtrack album cover art in articles about films or TV programs is generally not allowed for this reason as explained in WP:FILMSCORE and MOS:TVPRODUCTION.
