The Coon

Fair enough, I just consider it a bit much to list every item that someone mentions with regards an episode. Is it really a cultural reference? It's just a plot point to me, they visit a real life locale. They do so many times in episodes. I just didn't see the extra value of knowing that this time, they didn't make up the name. Hey, there! I noticed you were reviewing an article related to the Simpsons; do you reckon Bart the Fink is ready for GA? If not, could you give me a list of improvements that I could make? Thanks! Cheers. I'mperator 00:14, 6 April 2009 (UTC)

Damien (South Park)

Hello. I have added a few changes to the article you were working on. So far, all I did was basic clean-up and minor improvements to the article. It appears to be almost-ready for GA status. I justed wanted to hear a second opinion about the article. Also I'd like to point out a few issues with the article; the 'Home video release' and 'Cultural references' sections seem to be a tad short in length compared to the rest of the article. Should I merge the cultural references section with the theme section? Cheers, —Alastor Moody 06:18, 6 April 2009 (UTC)

Just to let you know, I responded on my talk page. Also I'm gonna go ahead and nominate it for GA now; just a heads up. —Alastor Moody 04:44, 7 April 2009 (UTC)
Okay, I can wait. —Alastor Moody 04:49, 7 April 2009 (UTC)
I guess co-nomination would be fine with me, since looking at the history it indicates that I have also contributed to the article. —Alastor Moody 04:56, 7 April 2009 (UTC)
Hmmm, I guess I could give it a try, but I'll have to re-watch the episode (at southparkstudios.com) since I've partially forgot about it. It might take some time however you can help along as well. —Alastor Moody 06:08, 7 April 2009 (UTC)
Whoa dude! Holy crap that is a lot of info. I'm in the process of re-watching the episode though. —Alastor Moody 06:30, 7 April 2009 (UTC)

I don't think that we jump to conclusions quickly, but after seeing that you have added a lot of info that comes close to meeting most of the FA criteria, I want to make a few suggestions as to how we should deal with the article when its done.

  • Option 1: We go ahead as initally planned to nominate it as a GA.
  • Option 2: We request a peer review for the article, and later nominate it for FA (skipping GA status).
  • Option 3: We proceed with Option 1 first, and continue on with Option 2.

These are simply my ideas as to what to do. I won't press you do follow my suggestions. If you don't agree with my suggestions, I'll just forget about them. Either way is fine with me though. :) —Alastor Moody 06:58, 7 April 2009 (UTC)

Alright, we'll go with Option 1. Also I have shortened the plot section down to 309 words. I already co-nominated the article for GA. Cheers, —Alastor Moody 08:04, 7 April 2009 (UTC)

Imaginationland

Just wondering how you felt about this: about eighteen months ago, there was a merge discussion to merge all three episodes in the trilogy into one, which failed. Given the episode's treatment as a split telemovie at the Emmys, do you reckon there could be cause for a (new discussion about) merging? Sceptre (talk) 06:31, 13 April 2009 (UTC)

In season 11, there was officially a total of 14 episodes. However if they (whoever they are) insist on merging the Imaginationland trilogy in one article, then they should also merge the Cartoon Wars and Go God Go series together as well. But, I am opposed of combining epsiodes into one article. The wikiproject is currently running a featured topic drive which should take care of it. Cheers, —Terrence and Phillip 07:52, 13 April 2009 (UTC)
I was one of the ones who prefered the merge (along with Cartoon Wars and Go God Go). It's not really rare for television episodes to be split over two or three production codes, mind you. Sceptre (talk) 08:16, 13 April 2009 (UTC)
  • Personally, I tend to agree with you Sceptre. I'd say it should be one episode and, instead of one large plot summary, there would be three separate plot sections for each episode. As long as the article points out that the Imaginationland consists of three episodes from the 11th season, I don't think there's any harm in combining them. In fact, I think keeping them separate would probably mean a lot of the came information about production, awards, video release, etc. would be repeated in each one, and I'd rather have one big quality article than three redundant ones. So yeah, I think the merge is a good idea; you might want to ask for feedback from other people in the South Park featured topic drive as well. — Hunter Kahn (contribs) 14:36, 13 April 2009 (UTC)

My apologies for the crappy image, I couldn't find an ogg file of actual applause so I chose this picture of people applauding. Anyhow, I'm giving you applause because I think your work on the "Mr. Hankey, the Christmas Poo" article is simply outstanding, amazing, fantastic etc. It's pretty amazing that you were able to find this many references for an episode that aired in 1997. The article... your work... it's... it's... undescribebably (I think I misspelled that) good. Keep up the good work!--Music26/11 18:04, 11 April 2009 (UTC)

Damien (South Park)

Hi, I left a comment at the review. It was the best I felt I could add, I see your point (and theirs too I suppose). I would echo your suggestion that the images don't really do well in any TV article, when you've seen the moving image or you're talking about one that you haven't seen, a picture doesn't really cut it.

The comments left in support of two example images given on the review page seemed (to me) to be important not because of the image itself, but of the moment in the show that it is taken from. Grabbing a frame, to me does not imply a greater understanding.

I would give it support if I could, but I thought it best to weigh in with whatever opinion I could best support in writing, which was to say that at the very least, your image was no less important than the others. Hopefully that will stir opinion somewhat. Alastairward (talk) 22:37, 22 April 2009 (UTC)

...are really not necessary! Good work on the SP articles so far, they've been stagnant for so long, my only contribution was scrubbing the OR from most of them in the months before I nominated them for a merge.

I just thought with regards Mr Brown that enough cites were out there that even though I too see it as a bad parody/likeness, we could still keep the material. Alastairward (talk) 17:47, 12 May 2009 (UTC)

Thank you for your efforts on Celia Ammerman, especially the improvements while the AFD was nearing its end. Keep up the good work. Best Regards. Plastikspork (talk) 01:12, 14 May 2009 (UTC)

Hey, just wanted to note that this edit was intended for this article, and I went ahead and changed it. On another note, great job with the GAs that you've done with The Office articles. Another user and I had a huge GA push last year along with my FL season pages push, but lately it's died down. It's great to see that someone's still working hard on these articles. Keep up the great work! Mastrchf (t/c) 19:49, 15 May 2009 (UTC)

I have reviewed the article here. :) Also, if you have time, please help out by reviewing other articles at WP:GAN in the "Theatre, film, dance, and drama" category. The backlog is becoming huge... :P TheLeftorium 20:46, 15 May 2009 (UTC)

DYK nomination of Second Sight (film)

Hello! Your submission of Second Sight (film) at the Did You Know nominations page has been reviewed, and there still are some issues that may need to be clarified. Please review the comment(s) underneath your nomination's entry and respond there as soon as possible. Thank you for contributing to Did You Know! Smallman12q (talk) 20:51, 15 May 2009 (UTC)

Consider using a proper citation for the youtube video rather than linking to it as the video may be in violation of some copyrights.Smallman12q (talk) 21:04, 15 May 2009 (UTC)
Well its a gray area, but what I would have done is to have the media citation in the article, but provide the youtube link on DYK to verify. Again, I'm not fully sure myself as to whether linking to the video on DYK may also constitute a copyright violation. What you can do is ask at WP:RSN how to handle it.Smallman12q (talk) 21:17, 15 May 2009 (UTC)
It should be enough, yes. If anyone questions me, I will provide the link then.Smallman12q (talk) 21:32, 15 May 2009 (UTC)
I always enjoy helping corteous people. I hope that other wikipedians will reflect this as well. Do let me know what they say at RSN...I'm interested to know for future references. Cheers!Smallman12q (talk) 21:44, 15 May 2009 (UTC)
DoneYe, I've checked it off. Do have a look at the reference tools, they will come in handy for makingWP:GA. Cheers! Smallman12q (talk) 01:21, 16 May 2009 (UTC)

Allison Harvard

Would you consider doing a little bit of work on Alison Harvard. It has the opposite problem from Celia Ammerman The article is too sparse, as well as poorly written, with bad grammar and sentence structure. Writing isn't really my forte ... MistyWillows talk 01:36, 17 May 2009 (UTC)

Re: GA question

The best thing you could do is leave a note on the reviewer's talk page; chances are he had simply forgotten about it. If that doesn't work, a post to WT:GAN should bring in some fresh eyes. I'll watchlist the review page to keep track of further progress. Cheers, –Juliancolton | Talk 16:19, 17 May 2009 (UTC)

FAC

It looks like both congratulations and condolences are due today - I've archived one of your FAC nominations and promoted another. I was very impressed with your demeanor at the FAC for Tender Mercies–it is rare to find a nominator who embraces constructive criticism to that extent. I hope that when the article is renominated it will sail through. Good luck! Karanacs (talk) 21:22, 19 May 2009 (UTC)

Hi, I'm sorry but if you do not provide me with sources for "Volcano", I can't continue to work on the article and I'm affraid I must depart from the FT drive.
