Categorizing academic editors
Hi, thanks for your hard work in this area. I have some suggestions on how to make this clearer. At this point, under your scheme many academic editors are categorized to a journal, which then is categorized to a nationality. However, academia is very international and getting more so. For example, the current editor of The Journal of Physiology is a British person working at an American university, so it doesn't seem correct to place the Category:The Journal of Physiology editors under Category:British academic journal editors. Next thing you know, she'll be succeeded by an American editor. I am sure that situations like this will occur more and more frequently (it's already getting very difficult if not impossible to classify journals by country, this basically only is possible for smaller journals published by a national organization). These ambiguities can be avoided by placing "Journal of Foo editors" categories in the Category:Academic journal editors and independent of that categorize academic editors by country. As for the latter, I'll be curious to see how you categorize by country an editor who is a citizen of one country (but perhaps born elsewhere), works in another one, and edits a journal based in yet another one. And then accepts a job offer in yet another country... This is not a contrived example, I know of cases like that. --Randykitty (talk) 14:33, 10 June 2021 (UTC)

- Sorry, but that is absurd. And, of course, nowadays the vast majority of journals cannot easily be assigned a "nationality": most large publishers have offices all over the world with editorial board members and editors also from all over.
