@Wgolf: It can be borderline BITE-y to put a non-sticky PROD up on an article if it was recently created by a new user, since the rules surrounding taking down PROD notices are different from other kinds of deletion. Also, I find that deletions are always controversial with the article creator. My recent edit of Mayonnaise.

Good evening I dream of horses,

Due to a recent misunderstanding regarding my recent edit of the Mayonnaise article, some of my most important edits to date have been removed.

I understand that keeping Wikipedia accurate and reliable are of utmost importance, and believe me when I say that I am fully on your side. That being said, I believe my assertion that Mayonnaise is inferior to Miracle Whip was a factual entry into an otherwise bland article.

As were both intellectuals, I trust that my entries will be reviewed with haste and will also be quickly restored to their original places in the article.

The specific edits were of my assertion that belief in a superior mayonnaise was thought to have come from illiterate scholars from the Dark Ages, immediately after the Roman Empire collapsed.

I also made a comparison between the .jpeg image of Pale Yellow Mayonnaise and Miracle Whip, and I believe that it was doubly unfair to remove this edit, as I put a lot of research into it.

As always, feedback from you regarding this matter would be greatly appreciated, and the same goes for a prompt response to this message.

@Amandaisverywrong: You're right in that the articlesWikipedia tends to be bland, dry, and very clinical. This is on purpose. Please respect that.

Zoo Hypothesis edit

I'm not sure why you saw fit to completely remove my edit to Zoo Hypothesis, which was merely a description and a link to another relevant page. I am a first time editor and may have done it crudely, but this edit, contrary to your comment, is clearly "constructive" as it references a person, Frank Chu, who is known by millions more people than many of the obscure science fiction works that precede him.

He likely deserves his own heading, as he is a real person, but my edit was removed within seconds and before I could modify it.

It appears to me you made your removal before clicking through and actually examining the Frank Chu page. If anything, the entry should have been cited for improvement.Fodive (talk) 22:41, 9 April 2016 (UTC)

COI request

Hi! Thank you for your kind welcome message earlier, it's much appreciated. It's really nice to start things off at a new place on a positive note.

If you can see on the page for Journal of Lipid Research, I made an edit to update the editorial management of our publication. However, after I'd already saved the changes, my colleague told me that I should have put on a COI edit request instead. The information that was changed is public knowledge - the new editors as of January 1, 2016, were announced publicly in a magazine article, and both their names are in every issue of the journal. I wasn't aware of there being a COI problem in this case, so apologies that I went ahead and made/saved the changes already.

I don't know if there is a way to retroactively approve the changes I have made but I have provided the links to the publicly available information on the Talk page of the Wiki ( https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Talk:Journal_of_Lipid_Research) and I hope this settles everything. If not, please let me know what other materials are needed and I can take care of this.

The way edits are "approved" retroactively is that they don't get reverted. Reversion can seem a bit harsh, particularly if you're new. Putting {{requested edit}} on Talk:Journal of Lipid Research is best if you're worried about conflict of interest. @Changm2008: They're the same template, actually. {{requested edit}} redirects to {{request edit}}. Good catch, though.

Anyway, the motto I wrote down is a real motto. It dates back to 1928, back when the First Pacific municipal plant went up. People may look at the motto as derogatory (or, in your words, "not constructive"), but garbage collection was a big-time industry at the time (but hidden like in Java--get it? I don't).
