Harassment

Ok, seriously dude what is your problem with me? I feel like every single edit I make you have something to say about it. Even when I cite sources. Also threatening to block me when I little editing mistakes? That is not okay. I've seen you do this to other people and it's not okay. Just because you're an administrator it does not mean that you are better or know more than other editors.Gagaluv1 (talk) 20:18, 1 November 2018 (UTC)

@Gagaluv1:, firstly learn to cite and format sources. Just because you are a new editor you do not get a pass. Don't add bare urls in articles and expect other editors to format it for you. Secondly, you blatantly removed a valid link to country music as a genre and replaced it with just country pop in "Always Remember Us This Way", then you added unsourced genres in "Is That Alright?" for which you quite expectedly received a warning. Do I need to go on? Because I can. You have been warned fair and square. —IB [ Poke ] 20:23, 1 November 2018 (UTC)
Oh and cleaning up your talk page is another sign what a juvenile editor you are, who instead of taking onus of the mistakes tries to disregard it. And you wonder why you are not being taken seriously? Wikipedia has rules for editing and if you cannot abide or learn them, then please leave. —IB [ Poke ] 20:25, 1 November 2018 (UTC)
You warn me about these things, I fix them, then you find other things to complain about. I'm still learning, but this site is a fun place for me and currently your negativity has made me hate coming here. That's why I deleted my talk page, because I didn't need that negativity. Also, you are a literal teenager according to your page, so you calling someone "juvenille" is a bit ironic, when you continue to attack me and edit war even after I cite relevant sources.Gagaluv1 (talk) 20:30, 1 November 2018 (UTC)
And your basic inability to comprehend the fact that what you add is wrong, is the reason your edits get reverted. Can you read above where it has been clearly given that you added unsourced content and incorrect genres, or changed them? You made incorrect additions, a number of times, and got reverted and warned. So learn or ask around why it was incorrect, instead of badgering me in my talk page. —IB [ Poke ] 20:33, 1 November 2018 (UTC)
But seriously, Indian Bio, probably not the best idea to revert 9 times in 9 minutes, lest you end up with a record like I did... even if that "record" was obtained by me reverting obvious vandalism from several of Reece Leonard's IPs. Probably better to remember the name of the admin/bureaucrat who protected Celebration, and asking them to protect the page again at the first sign of an IP disrupting the page in a similar way, like I did when someone kept vandalising pretty much every Smashing Pumpkins album article. ;) Homeostasis07 (talk) 00:34, 2 November 2018 (UTC)
Heyyy @Homeostasis07: so good to hear from you! Yes you are right haha. And you reminded me of good old days with the Reece IPs. Ahh memories :P —IB [ Poke ] 09:19, 2 November 2018 (UTC)
Only 5 years later and we're already reminiscing about Reece Leonard. ;) But I'd happily take another 6 months of Reece if it meant I could take a 6 month break from all the new IPs. He'd be a nice change of pace from all the IP-jumping former users who seem to know every single Wikipedia policy inside-and-out, and therefore know exactly what they can get away with before ANI can get involved. Extended page protection seems like the only thing you can do nowadays. ;) Homeostasis07 (talk) 01:23, 5 November 2018 (UTC)

"Diggin' My Grave"

I hope you'll take a look at possible sourcing for this song. You did such a great job with "Why Did You Do That?", which only charted in one country, and there may be other sources about "Diggin' My Grave" to add to what I started. Also, I posted a note on the article's talk page re: chart positions, in case Lady Gaga discography needs to be updated. Happy editing! ---Another Believer (Talk) 20:55, 5 November 2018 (UTC)

@Another Believer: I hope you don't think I purposefully reverted the creation. I have checked and there's absolutely not enough third party notability to warranty an article for the song, otherwise I would not have reverted it. On the contrary "Look What I Found" and "Music to My Eyes" they have some notability I found, so although they are stub now, but they can be expanded. —IB [ Poke ] 08:21, 6 November 2018 (UTC)

Your GA nomination of A-Yo (Lady Gaga song)

Hi there, I'm pleased to inform you that I've begun reviewing the article A-Yo (Lady Gaga song) you nominated for GA-status according to the criteria. This process may take up to 7 days. Feel free to contact me with any questions or comments you might have during this period. Message delivered by Legobot, on behalf of Aoba47 -- Aoba47 (talk) 19:21, 13 November 2018 (UTC)

Shallow GOCE review

An editor recently informed you at your talk page that an article you've been working on was submitted for review at Wikipedia:WikiProject Guild of Copy Editors, I'm assuming to have the article reviewed for improvements to reach Good Article status. Your reply in my view was rude and outrageous, not only removing his post with the summary of "buzz off", but sending the message that your "sanctity" was disrespected and they were being "disrespectful" in asking for such a review. You're behaving as if you claim ownership over articles you help produce. As I was typing up this message to you, I see that another editor has restored the request. [1]. Is this seriously how you work alongside others are Wikipedia who act in ways to raise the quality of articles here? -- Longhair\talk 09:35, 13 November 2018 (UTC)

@Longhair:, I made my stance pretty clear. Yes I found it disrespectful that the editor in question did not have the courtesy to ask whether it was actually finished. The editor, Another Believer, has done this before also, trying to hurry up articles and it frankly is irritating. No, I'm not sorry. —IB [ Poke ] 09:43, 13 November 2018 (UTC)
Do you get that nobody needs to ask your permission for such a thing? He asked for more eyes to help improve an article and you're responding as if that's a bad thing. -- Longhair\talk 09:45, 13 November 2018 (UTC)
@Longhair: and you completely missed my point. No one needs to ask my permission as I don't own any article. But its a simple politeness to ask "Hey IB, is the article done? If so lets go for GOCE before we go for GA/FA etc". The article history shows that massive editing was being added to it. There is no need to hurry up an article. —IB [ Poke ] 09:48, 13 November 2018 (UTC)

IB, I am sorry if you feel I'm rushing you, but I need you to know that I was trying to help. Requesting an article review should not be offensive or disrespectful. I appreciate your work here on Wikipedia so much, so for you to say mean comments and even curse at me is disappointing. I hope you will try to be more respectful, please. I really want to have positive collaborative experiences with you and other editors. ---Another Believer (Talk) 16:12, 13 November 2018 (UTC)

@Another Believer:, even I am sorry for the hurtful words and hope we can move on from this. But I hope you would consider just checking or asking with editors who are expanding the article if it is ok to go for copy-edit. Yes, it is for the betterment of the articles, but every editor takes some time when they would feel that yeah its time that others can start copy-editing it since I don't have anything further to add to it. As I said, it would have taken just a couple more days and we could have avoided this. —IB [ Poke ] 19:40, 13 November 2018 (UTC)
Sure, so maybe next time just post a nice note on my talk page or the article talk page, instead of cursing and throwing a fit. Clearly I was not the only one rubbed the wrong way. Let us continue to work together in positive ways. As I said, I very much appreciate and enjoy your contributions to Wikipedia. ---Another Believer (Talk) 00:41, 14 November 2018 (UTC)

Thanks for catching that

Thanks for removing the Twitter-sourced certs on El Dorado (Shakira album) here. I used to remove all those that editors added, but I've stopped paying attention to most pages on my watchlist (Shakira's pages are a big target, it seems). Ss112 12:07, 28 November 2018 (UTC)

No problem @Ss112:, I have found out that particular user, Shakira111, has ridiculously gone rogue with adding such malicious sources and content. Currently blocked for socking and edit warring though. —IB [ Poke ] 12:10, 28 November 2018 (UTC)

Chartmasters source

Do we have a consensus somewhere to not consider Chartmasters as reliable? Because when editors add chartmasters as a source, I leave it in place by only making minor corrections. I couldn't find anything at Wikipedia:Reliable sources/Noticeboard.--Harout72 (talk) 14:33, 28 November 2018 (UTC)

@Harout72: a simple perusal is more than enough to remove that website. It is run by a single user who estimates sales by his/her own tabulation. A mirror image of Mediatraffic. We should not be accepting any source that users add. I am going to ask to blacklist this source actually. —IB [ Poke ] 14:36, 28 November 2018 (UTC)
Fair enough, although I'm not sure if Chartmasters is as bad as Mediatraffic, but you have a point. If we could have a brief discussion at the WP:RSN and reject the use of it in general, it would be also clear for others perhaps.--Harout72 (talk) 14:44, 28 November 2018 (UTC)
Agreed. I have raised a discussion at RSN. —IB [ Poke ] 14:45, 28 November 2018 (UTC)

IndianBio, Harout72 – we had a brief discussion about this website at Wikipedia talk:Record charts/Archive 14#chartmasters.org. Richard3120 (talk) 14:37, 5 December 2018 (UTC)

Thank you @Richard3120:, my main thought is now to blacklist that site because like UKMIX, it has been added across so many pages in the Encyclopedia and new users crop up rampantly adding it time and time again. Atleast blacklisting such websites would dissuade them from adding content and maybe they will find alternative sources. —IB [ Poke ] 14:59, 5 December 2018 (UTC)

Not an IP address

I understand your trying to keep Wikipedia clean from bad editors, but I'm not 189.216.74.112. I've been using this same account since 2015. I'd appreciate that you validate what you message me in the future. Thank you. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Calhounmuse (talkcontribs) 01:15, 26 November 2018 (UTC)

Nope. Your editing pattern says otherwise so nice try! —IB [ Poke ] 09:10, 26 November 2018 (UTC)
Whatever you say, but do tell me how my last edits on Celebration are wrong.--Calhounmuse (talk) 09:34, 26 November 2018 (UTC)
My edit summary is self-explanatory. You and your IP have been reverted by multiple editors and you are now edit warring over content. The track list for Celebration does not include the original album names and neither is Madonna listed as Ciccone in the notes. We pertain to this album, not how Madonna was credited in the older ones. So drop it and stick to what the actual tracklist is. Calhounmuse, to give your benefit, I know that Madonna used to be credited as Madonna Ciccone, but I guess after the 2008 HC era it all stopped. She is simply credited as Madonna from MDNA and into Rebel Heart now. —IB [ Poke ] 09:37, 26 November 2018 (UTC)
No, she is credited as Madonna Ciccone in Celebration. I know this because I make sure to look before I make edits on pages. The template for tracklisting shows that greatest hit albums include the original album they are from. I'd expect you to know this already. You don't have to fix the page, it's just the correct thing I'm trying to do. http://www.encartespop.com.br/2010/04/encarte-madonna-celebration.html
Oh, and I'm not the aforementioned IP address. Thanks though. Calhounmuse (talk) 02:07, 1 December 2018 (UTC)
@Calhounmuse: I have reverted your addition. You are being borderline disruptive now. The note parameters is NOT present in any track list of the Celebration album release and therefore is NOT acceptable. You are free to update the writer since there is Ciccone in the Brazilian version only. —IB [ Poke ] 10:17, 3 December 2018 (UTC)
It IS in the liner notes of GHV2 though. I'll make sure to source my edits. Please make sure you're making credible edits.Calhounmuse (talk) 01:23, 4 December 2018 (UTC)
Again it IS not present in the tracklist where the songs are from. We follow the tracklist. The liner notes are for extra details like writers etc. —IB [ Poke ] 09:29, 4 December 2018 (UTC)
So the Template:Track listing is wrong? You should really take a look at it. Compilation albums should reference the original albums. Calhounmuse (talk) 04:07, 5 December 2018 (UTC)

@Calhounmuse: I have written clearly that the original track list for Celebration or GHV2 does not have the track list with the note parameter unlike Greatest Hits by Queen. What is so difficult to understand? —IB [ Poke ] 09:35, 5 December 2018 (UTC)

Okay dude, you're clearly wrong, but arguing with you is more trouble than it's worth. Take care. Calhounmuse (talk) 23:32, 5 December 2018 (UTC)
I'm sorry IB. I really don't want you feeling like I'm "ganging up" on you or anything, but I genuinely feel like [most of the time], it's a good idea to include the "(from album)" note on greatest hits album pages. Especially with something like Celebration, which includes 11 studio albums worth of singles. I believe the casual reader (who probably only clicked on the article by googling the artist/album name) would like to see which album each song came from. Unless it's the first hits compilation from some pop "band" (Take That, Spice Girls, Westlife, etc.), who generally only release two/three studio albums before their first GH record. But I know I've personally added this sort of info to some of the more substantial GH articles I've worked on. Food for thought. ;) Homeostasis07 (talk) 02:11, 6 December 2018 (UTC)
@Homeostasis07: no absolutely don't feel like ganged up haha. It's just that I have seen previously when such notes have been added it was reverted with editing summary to stick to the actual track list and I was referring that. I think in general we all follow the track list of the physical CD notes etc. —IB [ Poke ] 10:31, 6 December 2018 (UTC)
I do follow the liner notes, and in a lot of cases they include the original album. It just makes it easier and more informative. I wasn't trying to start some big battle, I'm just editing pages the way I know how to. It's up to you though, I don't want to rustle anymore feathers. Calhounmuse (talk) 03:23, 7 December 2018 (UTC)

Would you be willing to weigh in this discussion regarding Tiny Mix Tapes should be count as an reliable source or not. If you want to. TheAmazingPeanuts (talk) 06:48, 7 December 2018 (UTC)
