Thank you for contributing the above article.

I have tidied it up a bit (although you then undid all the changes I made!)

May I make the following observations:

  • you said that it is one of the major universities in the field of engineering - who has said this? If it is the university itself, then this would not be counted as a reliable source - for his statement to be included in the article, we need an independent, reliable source that makes this claim. I have removed this statement until some verification of this fact can be found. Otherwise it just sounds like advertising speak.
  • you said that The aim of [the computer science]] department is to train professionals that can be capable of working in the field of computer and IT. - I have removed this statement - every Computer Science department in every university/college in the world has this aim - it sounds too much like advertising.
  • you said The university presents a set of courses in the field of hardware, software and artificial intelligence. - every computer science department in every university in the world could say this. Again, it sounds like advertising.
  • The "Basic Sciences" department has nothing in it other than the two courses available.

I have re-written it so that it is not written so much like an advert! When more information is available, it can be added and the article can be expanded.

If you have any questions, please feel free to contact me using one of the methods I mention above.

Regards, -- PhantomSteve/talk|contribs\ 13:23, 1 January 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Unfortunately, I have had to tag the two images as suspected copyright violations. Looking at the University's website, I do not see any notification giving permission to reuse images for any purpose. Unless there is specific notification (see Commons:Licensing for details of the kind of on-website notification which would allow us to use the images.)
Copyright law is very strict, and unless it is clear that there is specific permission allowing anyone to re-use the images for any purpose whatsoever, the image can't be used on either Commons or Wikipedia.
With regard to the article itself, may I suggest that until there is text which can be used in the relevant sections, there is no purpose in having an empty section. That is why I re-worded the article to mention the departments in one paragraph.
I know nothing about the university, and I cannot read Arabic, so I cannot add information to the article. I can however tidy up an article a bit, even if it's about something I know nothing about! However, although I feel that the article does not meet the standards mentioned in the Wikipedia:Manual of Style, I do not have the time to look into it more at the moment.
If you have any questions, feel free to contact me -- PhantomSteve/talk|contribs\ 15:48, 1 January 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Hello, Isfahani. You have new messages at Phantomsteve's talk page.
Message added 17:09, 1 January 2010 (UTC). You can remove this notice at any time by removing the {{Talkback}} or {{Tb}} template.[reply]

The article Majlesi Journal of Electrical Engineering has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

Apparently moribund journal that only published in 2007-2008. No indication of notability, does not meet WP:Notability (academic journals).

While all contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, content or articles may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{dated prod}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Removing {{dated prod}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. The speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. Crusio (talk) 12:44, 7 January 2010 (UTC)[reply]

A tag has been placed on MagIran.com requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about web content, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such articles may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable, as well as our subject-specific notability guideline for web content. You may also wish to consider using a Wizard to help you create articles - see the Article Wizard.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}} to the top of the page that has been nominated for deletion (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on the talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the page meets the criterion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the page that would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Lastly, please note that if the page does get deleted, you can contact one of these admins to request that they userfy the page or have a copy emailed to you. ttonyb (talk) 06:16, 8 January 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Removing PROD notices[edit]

Hi, I saw you removed a PROD notice. It is good usage to explain on the article's talk page, or at a bare minimum in the edit summary, why you de-prodded the article. Without giving your reasons, the person who PRODded the article is likely to take it to AfD. --Crusio (talk) 16:52, 14 January 2010 (UTC)[reply]

I have nominated Majlesi Journal of Electrical Engineering, an article that you created, for deletion. I do not think that this article satisfies Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion, and have explained why at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Majlesi Journal of Electrical Engineering. Your opinions on the matter are welcome at that same discussion page; also, you are welcome to edit the article to address these concerns. Thank you for your time.

Please contact me if you're unsure why you received this message. DGG ( talk ) 04:20, 17 January 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Another editor has pointed out that Majlesi Journal of Electrical Engineering is not listed in Ulrich's Periodicals Directory. If that journal or any other magazine that you work with wishes to be listed free of charge in Ulrich's Periodical Directory, it should review the information at http://www.ulrichsweb.com/ulrichsweb/areyou.asp and download the appropriate form. Similarly, to be listed free of charge in the Gale Directory of Publications and Broadcast Media, review the information at http://www.gale.cengage.com/pdf/facts/gdpbmo.pdfEastmain (talk) 08:45, 17 January 2010 (UTC)[reply]

I have closed this AfD as delete, but I have put a copy of the article into the Article Incubator where you can develop it. You will find it at Wikipedia:Article Incubator/Majlesi Journal of Electrical Engineering. That will normally give you a month to work on it: you should not restore it to the main article space unless it meets the standard explained in general at WP:Notability and in particular at WP:Notability (academic journals). Regards, JohnCD (talk) 15:19, 24 January 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Wikipedia:Article Incubator/Majlesi Journal of Electrical Engineering, a page you substantially contributed to, has been nominated for deletion. Your opinions on the matter are welcome; please participate in the discussion by adding your comments at Wikipedia:Miscellany for deletion/Wikipedia:Article Incubator/Arrinera Automotive and please be sure to sign your comments with four tildes (~~~~). You are free to edit the content of Wikipedia:Article Incubator/Majlesi Journal of Electrical Engineering during the discussion but should not remove the miscellany for deletion template from the top of the page; such a removal will not end the deletion discussion. Thank you. Illia Connell (talk) 04:07, 1 March 2013 (UTC)[reply]
