This is your Talk page where you can receive messages from other Wikipedians and discuss things with them. At the end of your messages you must put your signature by signing with four ~~~~ (just as I have done) or by pressing the button in the editor bar as shown here in the picture. By the way, you don't need to sign edits that you make in the articles themselves as those messages will be deleted. Another valuable page that may provide information and assistance is User:Persian Poet Gal/"How-To" Guide to Wikipedia. My name is Buster7. If you have any questions or face any initial hurdles, feel free to contact me on my talk page and I will do what I can to assist or give you guidance and contact information. Good Luck editing!

Messages on talk & help pages[edit]

May I please remind you that on talk pages & help pages, new topics go at the foot of the page, & also that they should be signed, see the reminder below.

Information icon Hello and welcome to Wikipedia. When you add content to talk pages and Wikipedia pages that have open discussion (but never when editing articles), please be sure to sign your posts. There are two ways to do this. Either:

  1. Add four tildes ( ~~~~ ) at the end of your comment; or
  2. With the cursor positioned at the end of your comment, click on the signature button ( or ) located above the edit window.

This will automatically insert a signature with your username or IP address and the time you posted the comment. This information is necessary to allow other editors to easily see who wrote what and when.

Thank you. --David Biddulph (talk) 14:17, 10 December 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Cricket attendances[edit]

Cricket attendances are not typically recorded. I have no doubt that they were correct, but it's not really a big deal, so why list them? – PeeJay 20:09, 1 February 2014 (UTC) May be it's not a big deal, but papers like 'The Australian' and 'The Roar' have highlighted these attendances mainly in this summer. Also the Big Bash League attendances are mentioned in the 'Big Bash League' articles beside every single match. Actually if we provide these little information on Wikipedia, then it might be informative for worldwide Wikipedia viewers and they can have an idea about the popularity and importance of those definite matches. May be adding those info increases the memory by several bites only and might not be very big issue, but still it would be quite informative for other viewers. Itz arka (talk) 20:15, 1 February 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Yes, please get a consensus before re-adding any of these figures. Thanks. Lugnuts Dick Laurent is dead 09:57, 17 January 2015 (UTC)[reply]
There has been a discussion about these attendances couple of months ago in the Cricket talk page and people said that if it is available and added, then there will be no problem. So why to delete these Lugnuts??? Itz arka (talk) 12:12, 17 January 2015 (UTC)[reply]
There's no consensus to post them. Build the consensus first. Lugnuts Dick Laurent is dead 13:15, 17 January 2015 (UTC)[reply]
Please STOP and gain a consensus at the Cricket Project. Thanks. Lugnuts Dick Laurent is dead 09:24, 18 January 2015 (UTC)[reply]
I already raised this issue at the project page several months ago, some orthodox users were not interested even in discussing this matter! No conclusion was reached though, but some people suggested that it could be added if there are reliable sources. Now you tell me how can I gain a consensus there when most of the users are ignorant about this while 'attendances' are one of the most important things in modern day sports, Lugnuts... January 2015[edit]

Information icon Welcome to Wikipedia. At least one of your recent edits, such as the edit you made to Indian cricket team in Australia in 2014–15, did not appear to be constructive and has been reverted or removed. Although everyone is welcome to contribute to Wikipedia, please take some time to familiarise yourself with our policies and guidelines. You can find information about these at the welcome page which also provides further information about contributing constructively to this encyclopedia. If you only meant to make some test edits, please use the sandbox for that. If you think I made a mistake, or if you have any questions, you may leave a message on my talk page. Thank you.

See also WP:BRD. You were bold, I reverted you. There's an ongoing discussion to gain a consensus on the talkpage that you are actively involved in. If there's a consensus, then come back to the article. Lugnuts Dick Laurent is dead 14:06, 28 January 2015 (UTC)[reply]

So how do I come to know that the consensus has been reached or not? User:Lugnuts?? Itz arka (talk) 14:10, 28 January 2015 (UTC)[reply]
Once it has been agreed at the talkpage by members of the Cricket Project. Lugnuts Dick Laurent is dead 14:11, 28 January 2015 (UTC)[reply]
What will be the time when we can realize that the discussion is going to end? there was no further discussion for the last 24 hours so I thought it was settled down. Then you showed up against it. What if someone comes to share his/her views after two months of no further discussion??? Itz arka (talk) 14:16, 28 January 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Information icon Hello, I'm Geniac. I noticed that you made an edit concerning content related to a living (or recently deceased) person on Sneha Ullal, but you didn’t support your changes with a citation to a reliable source, so I removed it. Wikipedia has a strict policy concerning how we write about living people, so please help us keep such articles accurate. If you think I made a mistake, or if you have any questions, you can leave me a message on my talk page. Thank you. Geniac (talk) 01:08, 31 January 2015 (UTC)[reply]

February 2015[edit]

Again, please stop adding info against consensus. WAIT until there is an outcome to post such info, if, of course, that outcome is reached. You edits could be viewed as disruptive if you continue. Thanks. Lugnuts Dick Laurent is dead 12:28, 14 February 2015 (UTC)[reply]

So when will be the consensus reached? Within a day or two, the discussion will go into archive leaving itself undecided. So will there be a whole new thread again after that? Itz arka (talk) 13:00, 14 February 2015 (UTC)[reply]

www.austadiums.com[edit]

Hi, Itz arka. This is just a note to say that I moved your question about the reliability of www.austadiums.com from Wikipedia talk:Reliable sources/Noticeboard to the main project page: Wikipedia:Reliable sources/Noticeboard. So if someone answers it, it will be on the main project page. (The talk page is supposed to be discussing issues relating to the Noticeboard itself, rather than for questions.) – Margin1522 (talk) 09:45, 20 February 2015 (UTC)[reply]

March 2015[edit]

Information icon Welcome to Wikipedia. Although everyone is welcome to contribute constructively to the encyclopedia, we would ask that you assume good faith while interacting with other editors, which you did not on Talk:2015 Cricket World Cup. Take a look at the welcome page to learn more about contributing to this encyclopedia. Thank you. Joseph2302 (talk) 14:50, 25 March 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Can you tell me how I did violate the code of conduct here in Wikipedia? When a voting is not conducted in Wikiproject Cricket according to the Wikipedia rules, why don't you then complain? Arka 92 16:43, 25 March 2015 (UTC)[reply]
You described people as "bosses" and "anarchists"- please explain to me how that is assuming good faith? Joseph2302 (talk) 16:45, 25 March 2015 (UTC)[reply]
That is because the voting process was not done fairly last month when the voting was going on whether to add attendances or not. They said that the voting result after one week would be the conclusion. But when they saw that more people were voting in support, then they waited for one month expecting to get a majority of negative votes, but when still there was no majority vote for oppose, they silently and suddenly archived the whole conversation without reaching any conclusion. So why should I not call these anarchism? These are certainly not acc to Wikipedia guidelines. Arka 92 16:54, 25 March 2015 (UTC)[reply]
They didn't archive it, a bot does automatically. Also, as per WP:CONSENSUS, a majority vote is not a consensus to do so. Joseph2302 (talk) 16:57, 25 March 2015 (UTC)[reply]
Yeah I know, but then why did those people vote on that voting if that was not the conclusion? And enough logic we did produce there to support that issue. Still if someone keeps on saying that this is not convincing, then who can make him/her realize? Arka 92 17:01, 25 March 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Information icon Welcome to Wikipedia and thank you for your contributions. I am glad to see that you are discussing a topic. However, as a general rule, talk pages such as Talk:2015 Cricket World Cup are for discussion related to improving the article, not general discussion about the topic or unrelated topics. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. Cyphoidbomb, I know but Arjun Rampal himself says in the official trailer of the movie that his name is Inderjit Singh! Now if Wiki doesn't let us cite Youtube links, how can we justify the facts mentioned in the official trailer itself? Arka 92 18:55, 27 October 2016 (UTC)[reply]
Anyways, I have reverted your edit and added a suitable source to it. Arka 92 18:59, 27 October 2016 (UTC)[reply]
I appreciate your response. I'm fairly certain we can cite YouTube videos if they are from verified accounts, i.e. ones that have the verified checkmark. We can't use potential copyright violations as sources, though, so that's why we don't gamble with unverified accounts. (Obviously there are some limitations--a verified YouTube vlogger wouldn't necessarily be an expert on metallurgy, so we wouldn't necessarily care what he thinks about metals. But for something relatively uncontroversial as a character name appearing in an official trailer, I think it's totally reasonable to include that.) And regardless, using clear edit summaries goes a long way. Had you explained that the character name is explicitly mentioned in the official trailer, I would have been far less likely to revert it. As I look through your edit history, I see maybe 3 edit summaries over 500 edits. By contrast, I use summaries in 99.7% of my edits. Regards, Cyphoidbomb (talk) 19:10, 27 October 2016 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks for the nice explanation. Yes, in fact it was mentioned in the trailer explicitly that his name was that. Anyway I didn't know the fact that we could use verified accounts of Youtube as links here in Wiki. Thanks for the acquaintance. Regards. Arka 92 19:25, 27 October 2016 (UTC)[reply]

AfroCine: Join the Months of African Cinema this October![edit]

Greetings!

After a successful first iteration of the “Months of African Cinema” last year, we are happy to announce that it will be happening again this year, starting from October 1! In the 2018 edition of the contest, about 600 Wikipedia articles were created in at least 8 languages. There were also contributions to Wikidata and Wikimedia commons, which brought the total number of wikimedia pages created during the contest to over 1,000.

The AfroCine Project welcomes you to October, the first out of the two months which have been dedicated to creating and improving content that centre around the cinema of Africa, the Caribbean, and the diaspora. Join us in this global edit-a-thon, by helping to create or expand articles which are connected to this scope. Also remember to list your name under the participants section.

On English Wikipedia, we would be recognizing participants in the following manner:

  • Overall winner (1st, 2nd, 3rd places)
  • Diversity winner
  • Gender-gap fillers

For further information about the contest, the recognition categories and how to participate, please visit the contest page here. For further inquiries, please leave comments on the contest talkpage or on the main project talkpage. See you around :).--Jamie Tubers (talk) 00:50, 30 September 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Your signature and linter errors[edit]

Just a reminder that your signature contains obsolete font tags. They create Linter errors, and it is advised that you change your signature to '''[[User:Itz arka|<span style="color:teal;">''Arka''</span>]]''' '''[[User talk:Itz arka|<span style="color:#C1201D;">''92''</span>]]''' ASAP.

The purpose of this message is because Linter errors affect the way the page looks, and with a lot of errors, the page may render badly. To reduce Linter errors, please change your signature.

If the software doesn't accept my replacement signature, let me know, and if that's the case, unfortunately you may have to change it to something else. Sheep (talk) 04:23, 30 October 2022 (UTC)[reply]
