MagicKirin Sockpuppet[edit]

Hi JRSP. I'm 99.9% sure that Giza D is the latest of the Category:Wikipedia sockpuppets of MagicKirin. Contributions include the usual: Cindy Sheehan, Hezboulah, Jimmy Carter. Edits have the same style.-- Zleitzen(talk) 13:07, 2 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I'm not sure about this: the other accounts did not edit the UN article, which Giza D was fixated on. That said, I approve of the block. Michaelbusch 03:58, 4 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Help with copy editing[edit]

Hello. Sorry to bother you, but I'm expanding the article about Eugenio Espejo, and I'm certain that it has some grammar and style mistakes. I would be grateful if you check my article to correct those mistakes before I keep on expanding it (hopefully, from B-class article to Good article). Dalobuca 18:29, 7 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Hi there. Thank you for your help. I read your comment and I will take it into consideration after I finish the article. Let me know if you need my help anytime. Dalobuca 19:55, 8 March 2007 (UTC) [reply]

Vandalism by User 72.10.124.202[edit]

Link to User's Talk Page

this user has received a number of warnings about vandalism and being blocked, but has not been blocked to date, yet continues to vandalize articles. what is the procedure for blocking that user? Whateley23 21:01, 24 March 2007 (UTC) [reply]

Hello JRSP. Here is an article that might interest you!-- Zleitzen(talk) 12:16, 11 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Perhaps the article should be nominated for deletion, it is not clear to me what the article is about. JRSP 12:48, 11 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Do u have more info? Is Kiara more famous 4 her singing or acting? Bc I dont think 'famous person' is appropriate as her page title. Many ppl are famous, which Kiara more famous for? Also add more info on her, otherwise should she have a page? Thx._Lilkunta 04:49, 20 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I think she's mostly known as a singer so the title should be "Kiara (singer)". JRSP 11:11, 20 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]

What else are you gonna call it? Why don't you add how Chavez wants to celebrate the guerillas who died there and not the Army of Venezuela.

Wikitionary defines invasion as A military action consisting of armed forces of one geopolitical entity entering territory controlled by another such entity, generally with the objective of conquering territory or altering the established government.

Wikipedia says An invasion is a military action consisting of armed forces of one geopolitical entity entering territory controlled by another such entity, generally with the objective of either conquering territory, altering the established government, for humanitarian purposes, or a combination thereof. An invasion can be the cause of a war, it can be used as a part of a larger strategy to end a war, or it can constitute an entire war in itself.

Sounds like invasion to me......

P.S Why don't you and your friends look up and cite everything in sight about this article..... not something you guys are to particularly proud of huh??? —The preceding unsigned comment was added by The 13th 4postle (talk • contribs) 04:07, 10 May 2007 (UTC). [reply]

Vandalism by 65.206.222.177[edit]

I wasn't sure about the last edit by User:65.206.222.177. I figured it was better to revert it, since the previous vandalisms were very subtle errors. The fact that their last edit was legit doesn't take away the fact that they vandalized previously. wrp103 (Bill Pringle) (Talk) 02:29, 18 May 2007 (UTC) [reply]

rm unsourced[edit]

Saludos, --AVM 21:50, 31 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Please ckeck WP:V and WP:Civility. JRSP 23:09, 31 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Checked. WP:V: touché. So, then I would have to buy all newspapers to look if (luckily) someone published such news, because a journalist's eyes and ears are presumably better than mine (and my friends', too), and hence his/her testimony is more credible? Preposterous! In my opinion, truth is definitely a lot more important than verifiability, so I regard that policy as absurd. Sorry about that.
WP:Civility: ???. WHAT, "vainas"? Even Don Andrés Bello customarily used the word, up to naming a now famous Chilean cocktail after it! --AVM 01:29, 1 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]
If you disagree with the policy, you can discuss that at WT:V, but it is one on the key policies of wikipedia. You may also check WP:NOR. JRSP 01:37, 1 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

"Please provide sources"[edit]

This is about "History of Iraq" article. Source already been provided - in form of link. But I have another: Tripp C. A History of Iraq. Cambridge, 2005. P. 188-189, 196. So return additions to place they belong to, ok? —Preceding unsigned comment added by Vladimir Nosov (talkcontribs) 16:08, 22 May 2007 (UC)

Then you should better use Tripp's book as a source. But you should add it to the article. JRSP 20:56, 22 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]
So, source is here and my contribution is not in the place where it belong to. And, I think, you're not read Tripp yourself, but place a reference anyway. In our univercity you will be entitled to the very low results :)

Excuse me for directness, but looked like that no one have a right to add something to an article unless Great You approve this (and, sorry, clearly visible, that you're not a specialist). Such a combination of things is one of the causes of so many stubs in "politics" and "history" section... Vladimir Nosov 11:09, 2 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

You are right I've never read Tripp's book, I added the ref as an act of good faith on you as you provided the source in my talk page. I supposed you had read the book but were unfamiliar on wikipedia policies. I hope you understand the reasons why wikipedia generally does not accept blogs as sources. However, I can see you made a lot of research for making that blog. If you put as references the original sources you used ( like Tripp's book, for instance) I am sure your contributions will be welcomed. JRSP 11:28, 2 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

2002 Coup[edit]

I have read the Union Radio link you provided as a reference to the claims made in the 2002 Venezuelan coup d'état attempt article, but I must say I couldn't find any mention to the need the opposition manifestants might have had to obtain police permission to head for Miraflores. This doesn't mean I am dening that might have been the case. I just happen to think more solid references, perferably written outside Venezuela or Latin America, would benefit this article, which several users on its talk page have characterized as being inherently biased in favour of President Chávez. -- Ishikawa Minoru 01:06, 13 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]

In fact, Union Radio ( the reference I provided ) has an anti-Chavez editorial line. There are several references that will support that the march changed its original route (the Union Radio is one of them). In fact, it was not the police but the Libertador Municipality mayor who had to be informed (the original route was in the Chacao Municipality). I don't know of anywhere in the world where you can make a large demonstration without notifying proper authorities with some anticipation. JRSP 02:08, 13 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I understand what you're trying to say and I agree with it. The problem is we must address the matter with absolute objectivity and try not to assume things other people might not be familiar with. "The march was re-routed without consultation with the Police, who legally had to approve the changed route" - that's the sentence you provided a reference for. According to your previous post, it appears this information is not correct, namely that it was the Libertator Municipality Mayor who needed to be informed. We therefore need some report stating so and furthermore, one stating the opposition forces didn't do so. -- Ishikawa Minoru 14:29, 13 July 2007 (UTC) [reply]

Halvorssen[edit]

I'm going to hold off for a bit on continuing my edits; it's really frustrating to try to work on the article and bring a new editor up to speed on Wiki policies at the same time, and I'm still not sure if she's reading the talk page and understanding policies. Have to watch out for WP:BITE, so best to take it slow. I have so much to add still ... SandyGeorgia (Talk) 21:31, 22 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Take it easy, no need to rush the article, there is no time limit. JRSP 21:36, 22 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Yikes. Maybe you can find something online about embajador so we can be done with that; this is going to be interesting. SandyGeorgia (Talk) 23:00, 22 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I am sorry I am such a bother to you both. I am starting to get the hang of having to read both your talk pages, my talk page, the article on halvorssen's talk page, and all of the many rules. there are so many rules. how do i keep them straight? so many terms... UTCNPOVWBWIKITALKBITE it is like learning a new language. i speak decent spanish and spent a semester in Spain so I can try to learn this new language too!

And JSRP, thanks for letting me know how to get a new password. I also started to change my preferences and I changed the "skin" I recommend you don't do that. it was awful.AS 01:34, 23 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]

also, what do I need to do to get a gold star like the ones sandy has. she has so many stars. why don't you have stars?AS 01:34, 23 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]

WHy is it signing my initials instead of my username? arrgghh!!!AS 01:35, 23 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Basically, if you want to discuss about the Thor Halvorssen Hellum article you go to the article's talk page where all editors interested in the article are watching. User talk pages are more suited for user to user communication. It takes some time to learn all the rules, but you will like WP:BITE :-) For the barnstars you have to work hard! If you can make the Thor Halvorssen article a featured article I will give you one. The initials in you signature is because of your user preferences. Go to "my preferences" "user profile" "signature" and delete the "AS" in the box, leave it empty for now. JRSP 01:52, 23 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Personnel attacks[edit]

I havn't made any personnel attacks. Carlitos 13:10, 23 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]

See User:The 13th 4postle#Supspected Chavistas. You say you suspect I am "paid to edit wikipedia articles" JRSP 13:30, 23 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]
I honestly think you may be a sock puppet and I have requested your IP to be checked. If you truly are who you say you are then you have nothing to be afraid of and I will take back the "personnel attack." http://meta.wikimedia.org/wiki/Requests_for_CheckUser_information Carlitos 14:10, 23 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Do you mean you think me and Flanker are the same person? In that case you should go to Requests for Checkuser, here in en-wiki not in meta. I hope you will also take back the attack on Flanker after the investigation. JRSP 17:39, 23 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I never make statements about Gustavo Cisneros[edit]

Mire Aqui Tarifado que dos puede jugar este juegito[edit]

Thank you SO much for good advice on how to edit. If only you live by same advice. i am not surprised that you, a chavista who never makes any protection of anyone not in line with Chavez in some way, would now take the honorary "be careful" approach in this situation. You contribute everything negative or to protect your "maximo lider mesmo" Hugo Rafael. You POV violation is clear again and again. When you look source you only look for lines bad. You never include anything good about anyone you want to attack. I have reading you contributions. Is only a matter of time before everyone know. Chavez is anti-semitic according to many many many secondary valid sources--including himself. We will not allow our community to make look here like we like Chavez because is not true. At beginning yes, we try to live with Chavez but now he declare war on everyone Israeli or everyone Jewish. And Venevision too also anti-semitic again and again. OK? Asi que deja el chanchuyo y declarate por lo que eres. Lo que tu eres rima con Rana Nuevo.Copeyanofull 02:30, 25 July 2007 (UTC) [reply]

Jorge Rodríguez Rodríguez[edit]

I have removed the {{prod}} tag from Jorge Rodríguez Rodríguez, which you proposed for deletion, because the page you proposed for deletion was not an article, user page, or user talk page. If you still think the page should be deleted, please don't add the {{prod}} template back to it, as proposed deletion is only for articles, user pages, and user talk pages. Instead, consider using Wikipedia:Redirects for discussion for this page. In some cases, a speedy deletion criterion may apply. Thanks! Tikiwont 09:11, 27 July 2007 (UTC) [reply]

Thanks for the welcome[edit]

Thank you for the welcome, I contribute mainly in the Wikipedia in Spanish, but I hope to familiarize myself with this Wikipedia, and then i will start to contribute in all the articles related with our country, regards --Gmarval 18:15, 10 August 2007 (UTC) [reply]

Thanks it has been a while without major effort or input[edit]

Wikipedia does generate a bit of fatigue, so I did take a break for more opinionated and less rigorous settings, but I see things are pretty much how I left it. The only thing that surprises me about checkuser is that it took so long for someone to accuse me of such a thing. Flanker 12:43, 13 August 2007 (UTC) [reply]

I requested for comments on user Carlitos[edit]

Hey Mr. JRSP: I do not take kindly to being scolded about my wikipedia edits by the likes of you, and you would be best advised not to foul my discussion page again in the future with your unsolicited and unwanted comments. You don't own your talk page. JRSP 19:14, 14 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]

President vs. Dictator[edit]

Why did you revert my edit on the National Endowment for Democracy page where I correctly changed Hugo Chavez's status from "president" to "dictator"? Rdjohnson 16:39, 16 August 2007 (UTC)rdjohnson[reply]

Because I could not verify he was a dictator. JRSP 19:23, 16 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Hello[edit]

Thanx for welcoming and for the guidelines, i am pretty familiar with wikipedia's rules since i have been editing other versions of Wikipedia for quite a while. I do not mind your edit, although my intention was for the tag to be visible so everyone could see the warning. It is the content of my message that is important, and not the form. I find infiltration from interested editors unacceptable, a real plague that diminishes wikipedia's credibility and constitutes an attempt of manipulation. That is why I like my WikiScanner (http://wikiscanner.virgil.gr/). Saludos. Schizophonix 01:01, 3 September 2007 (UTC) [reply]

Rename[edit]

I don't want to get in X's way while he's working and learning, but we eventually need to rename May 2007 RCTV protests and 2007 Venezuelan demonstrations. I left notes on both talk pages. The RCTV article isn't named correctly to begin with, and the referendum protest article is incorrectly titled because the current title implies it also includes the May demonstrations. SandyGeorgia (Talk) 16:16, 5 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I think the same, in fact, I was going to suggest a merge but I saw the "May RCTV" article focused on protests in general and not in the student role so now I'd prefer to keep separate articles. Of course, "2007 Venezuelan demonstrations" is too general for a title ( lots of small scale demonstrations happen everyday in Venezuela, specially regarding local issues), I guess the intention is to focus on the student movement (which should include their role in the May protests too). Let's leave the discussion open for a while in the article talk pages. JRSP (talk) 17:20, 5 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]
