Wikipedia Basics[edit]

Thank you for your responce. what is this tidles and how can i put it? — Preceding unsigned comment added by Jethro76 (talkcontribs) 16:34, 2012 October 15

Tildes is the key that looks like ~ on your keyboard. You can add four of them like ~~~~ to sign your talk page posts. You can even make a custom signature in your preferences! See you soon, Nathan2055talk - contribs 17:00, 15 October 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Jethro76 (talk) 07:16, 16 October 2012 (UTC) thank you Nathan2055. I'm getting to know about Wikipedia. I thought only people with computer knowledge will able to edit Wikipedia. I still think using Wikipedia with html codes are difficult for me as i'm not a person from computer background. Is there any step by step wizard for this. Once again thank you for your help Nathan2055. --Yunshui  07:31, 16 October 2012 (UTC)-[reply]

Hi Jethro76. Regarding the tildes, literally all you need to do is type "~~~~" at the end of your posts (not at the beginning, and without any other characters in the string). As far as learning the markup (technically it's not HTML, although HTML works here too) codes goes, there's a full list of codes at this page. However, for day-to-day editing, you'll probably find the cheatsheet more helpful. Best of luck; if you need any help feel free to contact me on my talkpage, ask at the helpdesk or the Teahouse, or just add another {{help me}} question here.
