re: Help getting started[edit]

Hi, Jen. :) I see you've added your name to the memberlist for the Novels WikiProject, which is a great start; but know that you don't have to be a member of any particular WikiProject or team to make a difference on Wikipedia! It just depends on what you're interested in, and what you feel most comfortable doing. Do you have a favorite author or book? I have a tendency to look up the article to every book I read, or film I see, just because that particular story is stuck in my head. After I read The Thirteenth Tale a few years ago, for example, I noticed that there wasn't an article for what I thought was an interesting story. So, I created the (admittedly short) article, hoping that it would be of interest to other readers. You may choose to start slower, perhaps by copy-editing poorly written articles, or fleshing out plot summaries/background sections. Even a typo fix here and there helps the project in the long run. Do a couple searches, some reading around, and dive right in. Remember to be BOLD, but before you make large edits, you should familiarize yourself with the Manual of Style.

Best of luck, and feel free to ask me specific questions. While I'm not as actively editing Wiki as much as I used to due to RL constraints, I check my watchlist and talkpage often. You can also reply here, on your own talkpage, as I'm currently watching it. María (habla conmigo) 18:55, 1 November 2010 (UTC)[reply]

WikiProject Novels Collaboration for February[edit]

Thank you everyone who participated in the January Collaboration, it was quite a success with 5 new C class articles, 3 stub kills and several articles were removed from our backlogs. In support of the Great Backlog Drive, the WikiProject Novels Collaboration for February is going to help remove backlog candidates in the backlogs related to WikiProject Novels. Please join us, and help us wikify, reference, clean up plot sections and generally improve Novels content, Sadads (talk) 21:56, 5 February 2011 (UTC)[reply]
