March 2021[edit]

Information icon Hello, I'm Aureum doxadius. I wanted to let you know that one or more of your recent contributions to Battle of Stamford Bridge have been undone because they did not appear constructive. If you would like to experiment, please use your sandbox. If you have any questions, you can ask for assistance at the Teahouse. Battle for Königshügel moved to draftspace[edit]

An article you recently created, Battle for Königshügel, is not suitable as written to remain published. It needs more citations from reliable, independent sources. (?) Information that can't be referenced should be removed (verifiability is of central importance on Wikipedia). I've moved your draft to draftspace (with a prefix of "Draft:" before the article title) where you can incubate the article with minimal disruption. When you feel the article meets Wikipedia's general notability guideline and thus is ready for mainspace, please click on the "Submit your draft for review!" button at the top of the page. Disambiguation link notification for March 16[edit]

Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. An automated process has detected that you've added some links pointing to disambiguation pages. Such links are usually incorrect, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of unrelated topics with similar titles. (Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.)

Information icon Hello, I'm FDW777. I noticed that you recently removed content from Siege of Belgrade (1806) without adequately explaining why. In the future, it would be helpful to others if you described your changes to Wikipedia with an accurate edit summary. If this was a mistake, don't worry; the removed content has been restored. If you would like to experiment, please use your sandbox. If you think I made a mistake, or if you have any questions, you can leave me a message on my talk page. Thanks.

Information icon Hello. Thank you for your contributions to Wikipedia.

When editing Wikipedia, there is a field labeled "Edit summary" below the main edit box. It looks like this:

Edit summary (Briefly describe your changes)

Please be sure to provide a summary of every edit you make, even if you write only the briefest of summaries. The summaries are very helpful to people browsing an article's history.

Edit summary content is visible in:

Please use the edit summary to explain your reasoning for the edit, or a summary of what the edit changes. With a Wikipedia account you can give yourself a reminder to add an edit summary by setting Preferences → Editing → check Prompt me when entering a blank edit summary. Thanks! Information icon Please refrain from making unconstructive edits to Wikipedia, as you did at Battle of Arachova. Your edits appear to constitute vandalism and have been reverted. If you would like to experiment, please use your sandbox. Repeated vandalism may result in the loss of editing privileges. Thank you. Catlemur (talk) 18:51, 19 March 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Again, stop adding duplicate images like you did here. Either you can start communicating with other editors, or I will escalate this matter for administrator attention. FDW777 (talk) 07:55, 20 March 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Information icon Welcome to Wikipedia, and thank you for your contributions. Although everyone is welcome to contribute constructively to the encyclopedia, please note that there is a Manual of Style that should be followed to maintain a consistent, encyclopedic appearance. Deviating from this style, as you did in Battle of Narva (1700), disturbs uniformity among articles and may cause readability or accessibility problems. Please take a look at the welcome page to learn more about contributing to this encyclopedia. Thank you.

If your submission is not edited soon, it could be nominated for deletion under CSD G13. If you would like to attempt to save it, you will need to improve it. You may request userfication of the content if it meets requirements.

If the deletion has already occured, instructions on how you may be able to retrieve it are available here.

Thank you for your submission to Wikipedia. FireflyBot (talk) 16:03, 9 August 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you for improving the article. I see however that this edit is a direct translation of the text from here, and the text is presumably copyrighted, so that adding its translation is a copyright violation. It can be easily fixed by paraphrasing the text. Could you please do it? Thanks.--Ymblanter (talk) 16:23, 28 August 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Edits re Lutzen[edit]

I recognise you spent a lot of time on this and its irritating when work is undone; but then I spent over a week bringing this article from C to B. Your edits have not improved it; in fact, by removing referenced content and introducing large amounts of unsourced material, you have actually downgraded it. So I feel equally frustrated.

I assume from this TP you are relatively new; if you want to make substantial changes to an article, you should first address it on the TP. Otherwise, you'll find yourself fighting endless battles. Up to you of course - some editors enjoy conflict but its really wearing. Robinvp11 (talk) 13:59, 29 August 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Well I’m sorry about that. I suppose you have already reverted my edits by now. If not, then go ahead. I always knew that my edits would not last long. Jonathaniguess (talk) 14:19, 29 August 2021 (UTC)[reply]

  • Well, that does beg the question of why make them :). If you add large quantities of material without Sources, they will tend to be reversed. If you actually remove Sourced content, you have to expect it - which isn't really productive for you or others,
  • Personally, I don't mind people making edits even when I disagree, because it nearly always inspires me to go back and look at it with a more critical eye. But major changes should probably be discussed first.
  • Also, while I realise the death of Gustavus is a big deal for those interested in Scandinavian history (which you seem to be), it is not the focal point of the Battle of Lutzen. The right place for that is the article on Gustavus, which needs updating BUT you need to include Sources. Robinvp11 (talk) 14:25, 29 August 2021 (UTC)[reply]

One other point; the size of the picture in the Infobox is often a function of pagination, particularly on mobile devices (which is how 60% of users access Wikipedia). So its not just a 'Whatever" decision. Robinvp11 (talk) 14:27, 29 August 2021 (UTC)[reply]
