so Wikipedia is not a reliable link? — Preceding unsigned comment added by Tammy pruit 1 (talkcontribs) 01:02, 2 March 2014 (UTC)

Tammy pruit 1 No, Wikipedia does not see Wikipedia as a reliable source, since one could change something in one article, then cite that in another article and make that "true". Please read WP:CIRCULAR, Wikipedia:Reliable sources and Wikipedia:Wikipedia is not a reliable source. (tJosve05a (c) 01:07, 2 March 2014 (UTC)

I noticed on most all of the TV-show pages on "Wikipedia" (in numerous cases) IMDb contributions only have IMDb credits to prove the authenticity of that persons work on said production. The production Company's are the ones that OK the credits; not just anyone can do that, and I must say that the IRS are also aware of those credits as well; these people were taxed for that work. Al Burton is an American icon, and (I assure you) he's for real!!! When I was a little girl I watched his shows, and so did you and the rest of the world. Oh... and as far as the "Wikipedia" links being changed, well... that's impossible in the location they are positioned on the pages I noted. Over on the rightward side, under the picture-format. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Tammy pruit 1 (talkcontribs) 04:27, 2 March 2014 (UTC)

Interesting quotes

Hello Josve05a, I have seen your userpage and I have found that your talkpage quotes These are wierd quotes I have found on various talk pages by diffrent talk pages. Some of them are funny, some of them are rude.

I will not take anything down, everything here follows CC-BY-SA 3.0........ are interesting. So I have created a template based on funny, interesting, rude quotes of other editors. This template can be tagged on any talk page or user page and it will show quotes randomly. You may have a look at the template here and give me feedbacks, add the template on your userpage or talk page or add some more quotes by editing that page. Your feedbacks are needed. Re: Mars Direct

 Resolved

You removed a link I added to the "See Also" section of Mars Direct as irrelevant. How is a link to another Earth-Mars transportation system not relevant? The transportation system proposed in Mars Direct might work for a start-up situation but sooner or later there will be a need for a more substantial, more capable, transportation system. The link you removed is one possible solution to that issue. If you have another reason for removing it please state it, but non-relevance isn't relevant :) Skyhook1 (talk) 00:54, 5 March 2014 (UTC)

Hello Skyhook1, If you look in the articles history you can see that I have only done 2 edits to that page.
  1. First edit, removed isbn? from {{cite book}}.
  2. Second edit, added 4 / and 1 {{dead link|date=January 2014}}.
I think you are mistaking me with Andyjsmith, who wrote in the summary: Reverted to revision 590311009 by Josve05a (talk): Irrelevant to this article.. That person reverted your edit, making my edit (the one before you, to be the present one.) (tJosve05a (c) 01:17, 5 March 2014 (UTC)

Tucksy

Hi Josve05a, thanks for reviewing my article about Paul Lavender so quickly. (I thought I might have a chance to review it next week as I realised after I submitted it that it did not comply with the Wikipedia format - and should not have submitted it as it was. I appreciate the material in quotes may have been seen as copyrighted but it is free to quote small portions under IP Law, however I appreciate this is not the Wikipedia way). I will be rewriting it if that is ok and resubmitting? Kind regards Tucksy — Preceding unsigned comment added by Tucksy (talkcontribs) 10:09, 5 March 2014 (UTC)

Sure, go ahead and make a new article. Just make sure you don't save any copyrighted materials, since any copyrighted materials will be deleted (almost) immediately, without giving you the time to edit the page.

SimGirls article

Resolved

My article on simgirls was deleted since I used text from https://m.facebook.com/Simgirlsgames/about I would like to know that if I take permission from the author of simgirls, will my article be approved? Also, will I re-post the article and ask for permission or will I have to ask for permission before writing the artcle?

P.S. Answer directly instead of giving any links. Thanks

If you have permission from the author to release the text under the Creative Commons Attribution-ShareAlike License (CC-BY-SA), leave a message explaining the details at Wikipedia talk:Articles for creation/SimGirls and send an email with confirmation of permission to "permissions-en (at) wikimedia (dot) org". Make sure you quote the exact page name.
But! To use copyrighted material on Wikipedia, it is not enough that we have permission to use it on Wikipedia alone. That's because Wikipedia itself states all its material may be used by anyone, for any purpose. So we have to be sure all material is in fact licensed for that purpose, whoever provided it.
Text imported from other sites into Wikipedia articles must be licensed under the terms of the Creative Commons Attribution-Sharealike 3.0 Unported License (CC-BY-SA) (CC-BY-SA compatible licenses are also accepted, as, of course, is :release into public domain). When asking for permission, you should explain that this means that
  1. The text may be freely redistributed and used.
  2. It may be freely modified, and modified versions may also be freely redistributed and used.
  3. In all cases, CC-BY-SA requires proper attribution of the author(s).
  4. CC-BY-SA allows commercial re-uses provided such re-use is also under CC-BY-SA.
You may also choose to explain that the author does not give up any of his or her rights to use the text: he or she is still free to publish the text elsewhere or to license the same text to other parties under any other license.
It is recommended that you attempt to obtain dual-licensing for text under the GNU Free Documentation License (GFDL) (unversioned, with no invariant sections, front-cover texts, or back-cover texts) license as well, which uses similar ideologies to CC-BY-SA, but is incompatible. Wikipedia's general content is co-licensed, and it is more convenient for our reusers to have material available under both licenses, but it is not essential when importing text from external sites authored by others.
Please(!) read more at Wikipedia:Requesting copyright permission.

Typical request letter for confirmation

Will I have to write the following letter to the creator of simgirls?

Dear *[NAME], I am writing to confirm whether permission is granted to use *[a page/content] from your website under the terms of the Creative Commons Attribution-ShareAlike 3.0 Unported License (CC-BY-SA). A user with the *[IP xxx/ username xxx] has pasted in text from your website [WEBSITE ADDRESS] to Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia. The text concerns *[TOPIC OF PAGE] and the original submission can be viewed at *[Address of Pre-copyvio boilerplate version]. This user claims on the talk page *[TALK PAGE ADDRESS] to *[have the authority to release this material under CC-BY-SA/ be the original author of the material], but for the page to remain on our site, we need further evidence that this is the case. Please be assured that if you do not grant permission, your content will not be used at Wikipedia; we have a strict policy against copyright violations. You can read CC-BY-SA in full at http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikipedia:Text_of_Creative_Commons_Attribution-ShareAlike_3.0_Unported_License. The license stipulates that any copy of the material, even if modified, must carry the same license. This means that anyone would be licensed to distribute the material, possibly for a fee (we would distribute your work free of charge). Under the license, no distributor (commercial or otherwise) can restrict future distribution, so your work would never become proprietary. In addition, the license does not grant the right to imply your endorsement of a modified version. Please note that your contributions may not remain intact as submitted; this license and the collaborative nature of our project entitles others to edit, alter, and update content at will, i.e., to keep up with new information, or suit the text to a different purpose. There is more information on our copyright policy at: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikipedia:Copyrights . The article will be deleted in seven days time if permission is not confirmed, though it can be restored at a later date if you choose to respond later to state that such use is allowed. Thank you for your time. I look forward to your response. Yours faithfully,

Chamberlin Inn Article

Resolved

Hi Josve05a,

I have written an article on the Chamberlin Inn and it's my first article and I have to say, I'm a little confused about how to do this. :)

Can you let me know why you declined the article, I could see any comments on it, nor could I see the article...it said I needed to put some tag into it.

I will be adding the book reference (complete references) and I'd like to put on a few more photos if possible.

Thanks so much for your help.

Elliot Rivers (talk) 16:00, 6 March 2014 (UTC)

Hello. I declined the article because it appered to be blank. One of many reasons this could happen is if you pressed the preview button and then pressed "subimt". When you were previewing the article, it never got saved, because you first need to press save. Meaning that you submited a blank article, but this is just 1 reson this coulf happened.
Please write article again. Happy editing! (tJosve05a (c) 16:03, 6 March 2014 (UTC)

I (personaly) can't delete the article because I'm not an admin. That is why there is a template (box) on the page, where another user thinks that the article should be deleted. You can disuss and state why the article should not be deleted on the articles talk page. When another user (problebly an admin) looks at the article and talk page, he or she will decide if the problems have been resolved or not. (tJosve05a (c) 19:11, 6 March 2014 (UTC)

you are not admin then why you submit this in my article Biographies of Living Persons PROD,

Hi. I am not understanding that there are not enough verifyable citations? Hi,

could you help my about: "The submission has not been accepted because it included copyrighted information"

How can I fix this issue.

Thanks, Bicubic — Preceding unsigned comment added by Bicubic (talkcontribs) 17:00, 8 March 2014 (UTC)

Hello Bicubic,
You could rewrite article with your own words that does not include copyrighted information.
That means in simpler terms: Write it your self, do not dopy it from another place.
Wikipedia has a very strict policy of not including any copywrited (copied) information, due to the fact that would be breaking the law. (tJosve05a (c) 17:24, 8 March 2014 (UTC)

Senhor Testiculo

Resolved

Did Senhor Testiculo (which you reviewed) show up on new pages feed? I saw it come up on my watchlist as "reviewed". I haven't had a page I created show up as reviewed since I was granted autoreviewer status, and this is the first page I created as an admin. Just trying to understand why it came up. --kelapstick(bainuu) 19:08, 12 March 2014 (UTC)

I was going through the new page feed and tagging which WikiProject they belong to. I don't know what has happened, but I know that a lot(!) of experienced users article is not getting auto-reviewed. Might just be a bug. I have autoreviewer status, still my articles (und subpages to my userpage) will sometimes get reviewed by another user. Anyways, happy editing! Article rejection

I don't understand why my article keep being rejected

(MissyRedBoots (talk) 12:14, 11 March 2014 (UTC))

Hello MissyRedBoots. From what I can see the article was deleted once for being a copyrights-violation. (menaing it had been copied from another website)
When you created the article again, I looked at it and reviewed it. What I could see was that the article only had cited one reference (source), the official page. A link to an official pages does unfortunately don't show adequately evidence the subject's notability. Please see the |guidelines on the notability of people and the golden rule.
What you can do is improve the submission's referencing, so that the information is verifiable, and there is clear evidence of why the subject is notable and worthy of inclusion in an encyclopedia.
Please read Help:Referencing for beginners to learn how to do this. Happy editing! (tJosve05a (c) 19:38, 12 March 2014 (UTC)

Copyright deletion?

I am trying to figure out why my submission was deleted. My entry was on a department of the organization you accused me of infringing upon. It was like accusing Gmail of copyright infringement of Google.

R. MacQueen, Captain,21 RHFC ACC — Preceding unsigned comment added by Rmacq (talkcontribs) 18:38, 14 March 2014 (UTC)

No, it is like twitter is copying material from facebook and saytying that they own it.
Posting copyrighted material without the express permission of the copyright holder is unlawful and against Wikipedia policy.
If you want to import media (including text) that you have found elsewhere, and it does not meet the non-free content policy and guideline, you can only do so if it is public domain or available under terms that are compatible with the CC-BY-SA license. If you import media under a compatible license which requires attribution, you must, in a reasonable fashion, credit the author(s). You must also in most cases verify that the material is compatibly licensed or public domain. If the original source of publication contains a copyright disclaimer or other indication that the material is free for use, a link to it on the media description page or the article's talk page may satisfy this requirement. If you obtain special permission to use a copyrighted work from the copyright holder under compatible terms, you must make a note of that fact (along with the relevant names and dates) and verify this through one of several processes. See Wikipedia:Requesting copyright permission for the procedure for asking a copyright holder to grant a usable license for their work and for the processes for verifying that license has been granted.
Never use materials that infringe the copyrights of others. This could create legal liabilities and seriously hurt Wikipedia. If in doubt, write the content yourself, thereby creating a new copyrighted work which can be included in Wikipedia without trouble.

Eeeww. Not sure what happened to my previous comment? (I may have not saved it!) so here it is once more anyway. Thank you so much for your assistance. Would you be so kind as to inform me which parts infringe copyrights? Or is it just the bio part?

Thanks muchly. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Martinrossgibbs (talkcontribs) 09:13, 13 March 2014 (UTC)

Hello Martinrossgibbs, I could not find any copyvio (copyright-violation) on the page, but I did see some source which were not reliable. I have added yellow comments next to the sources that includes links to guidlines. I hope you have a nice day and I wish you happy editing! (tJosve05a (c) 10:21, 13 March 2014 (UTC)

Phew! It is is a frustrating excecise isn't it? Thank you so much for your assistance it's really appreciated!! The items hilighted in yellow I assume are still OK to leave there? Or should I remove them completely? Or are you saying I still need further evidence to support the entry? I am a little confused though? It's kind of hard for me to understand (to be fair, not uncommon for me anyway!) exactly what I need to do if one says there are copyright issues and another says there isn't but there is lack of evidence? Anyway, I have added further info and also included some news articles which I hope will cover the issues raised but if not would you kindly let me know by hilighting the errors in yellow as you have done as I found that easier to understand? Thank you so much. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Martinrossgibbs (talkcontribs) 09:24, 14 March 2014 (UTC)

@Martinrossgibbs: Technically the links can still be on the article, but it would be great if they could be replaced with reliable sources instead. If a rewiever sees that the article uses IMDb (and other similar links) the article will be more likely to be denied again. If you could find some other sources that included the same cited information, then you can replace the links.
I will have a look at your article, and try to fix the footnotes/bullet-ed (*) link. You can have a look on WP:REFEX on how to do this. (tJosve05a (c) 10:30, 14 March 2014 (UTC) (tJosve05a (c) 10:30, 14 March 2014 (UTC)

The link is here: http://continuummotionpictures.com/movies-trailers/hawke-the-movie.html I tried to put it in this morning but I think it won't allow me as I seem to have resubmitted it? Could you confirm if the one I submitted has this link or not? Thank you so much. How could anyone do anything on here without your assistance is beyond me! Thanks again. Hi, noticed you deleted the artile - Master Lu- yesterday night. Can you pls advise why this been deleted, so it can be improved and republish? thanksMaggiejhan (talk) 15:11, 16 March 2014 (UTC)

Hello Maggiejhan, here is a list of reasons why the page was reverted to its origional place:
  1. The article went though WP:AfC and failed the criterias, twice.
    • But you are free to publish article under normal mainspace, as long as it follows the guidlines and criterias. But is is prefered that the article will be submitted at Articles for creation.
  2. It should not be created on an existing page. The existing page should either be moved fist, or "your" article should be named something like: "John Doe (born 1998)".
    • This to prevent breaking the articles edit history.

Undoing of Contribution

Can you clarify exactly what you removed? KägeTorä - () (Chin Wag) 13:27, 20 March 2014 (UTC)

No worries. I have no idea what you are talking about. Is 'Wikipedia-spaces' something new? "Huggle"? You've lost me. As I knew my post was going to contain a little POV, I thought I should qualify it with the article here on WP, as there is a section on criticism. Any outside criticism would have been borderline-acceptable, if acceptable at all. don't worry, I've been on WP for a long time. My user page has a badge on it that used to say exactly how many years/months/days I had been on here, but now it just says 'some time' (I wish these people would ask us before changing their badge format!), so I am familiar with the rules and protocol. Oh crap, a barnstar...what to say, what to say...
@MelanieN: I alwas have trouble thanking people for giving me these, but here it goes: "OMG, a new shiny star for my bookshelf!".
But do you know the most sincerest form of flattery? Imitation. Let us all star(t) helping each other keep Wikipedia clean!
Anyways, thanks and happy editing! (tJosve05a (c) 20:35, 21 March 2014 (UTC)
LOL, that is the most original acknowledgement of a barnstar I have ever seen! 0;-D I guess you are so overwhelmed with barnstars that they are getting to be a burden, huh? Well, that's what you get for being one of the good guys. As the saying goes, "No good deed goes unpunished." --MelanieN (talk) 20:39, 21 March 2014 (UTC)
@MelanieN: You wouldn't know anything about div-style? I only want the black color around my ribbons (replacements for the barnstars), not covering the entire page...
Oh no. I don't want to be punished... (tJosve05a (c) 20:43, 21 March 2014 (UTC)
Sorry, I'm clueless when it comes to borders and fonts and such. --MelanieN (talk) 20:44, 21 March 2014 (UTC)
Why can't there be some easier way, or guidlines, or I don't know, a butler tat do these things for me . LOL. Thanks for the barnstar anyways! (tJosve05a (c) 20:47, 21 March 2014 (UTC)

New Article Help

Hey, i did my first article today and it was reject because it was said to be 'blank', i re submitted again and hopefully this time it won't say that because it wasn't blank in the first place. Please help me out whichever way you can. I'm a newbie. Boobsinana (talk) 13:25, 24 March 2014 (UTC)

Your userpage

Hi Josve05a. I've nuked your userpage at your request; if you want it back at any point (with or without the full history), just say the word. Cheers, Yunshui  14:32, 24 March 2014 (UTC)

Thanks. But I did an ofiline copy first, so it is not problem, since they over at #wikipedia-en-revdel didn't want to revdel my page, I thought I should just delete it. (tJosve05a (c) 14:34, 24 March 2014 (UTC)
I'm surprised you weren't granted the option of revdel, to be honest; I reckon at least one of the recent edits met criterion #2 (or at least, was intended that way). Still, I commend you on an inventive alternative. Yunshui  14:42, 24 March 2014 (UTC)

This page should not be speedy deleted as an unambiguous copyright infringement, because... (This page is basically done as a free work to the owner of the Malayali FM. The pictures in the article is presented with the full authorization of its owner.Am also working with the Malayali FM radio channel.Thank you) — Preceding unsigned comment added by Lijuvj19 (talkcontribs) 19:26, 24 March 2014 (UTC)

A small act of kindness for you!!!!

Happy`s Small Things matter award
Thank you for correcting my user page. Not that big of a deal, but a bunch of little kind acts are better than 1 big act of kindness. One act of kindness at a time..... Happy Attack Dog (you rang?) 15:01, 25 March 2014 (UTC)
Thanks for the flower, I think I will have to go out and buy a vase now...(tJosve05a (c) 15:05, 25 March 2014 (UTC)

Here is a vase.... Happy Attack Dog (you rang?) 15:24, 25 March 2014 (UTC)

Ooh...it looks expensive. I don't think I can afford it.. (tJosve05a (c) 15:25, 25 March 2014 (UTC)

Its free... Happy Attack Dog (you rang?) 15:37, 25 March 2014 (UTC)

Thanks!!! What's the catch? 15:38, 25 March 2014 (UTC)

There is no catch, just sign this: I agree to all laws of Calvin and Hobbes, I allow myself to be put into a test chamber with a portal gun and must go through the tests and I agree to be able to be watched by Calvin and Hobbes from their tree fort and I will not say anything about politics and I will not Eat Pie ever and allow me to be put in a robot for testing purposes and I will not bake anything that Happy_Attack_Dog thinks does not taste good and I will eat grandmas cookies, Because they are delicious and I will agree to Dogbert Monarchy (Dilbert Reference).

Basically sign here to regret this decision: Jonatan Svensson Glad — Preceding unsigned comment added by Happy Attack Dog (talkcontribs) 15:55, 25 March 2014 (UTC)

Nooooo, the cake is a lie!!! (tJosve05a (c) 16:11, 25 March 2014 (UTC)

The cake is not a lie, the fact that you can get the cake is a lie... ...as it is a trap, when you go for the cake, they pump in the nerotoxin. Don`t go in the door that says GLADoS Emergency shutoff and cake depository. Happy Attack Dog (you rang?) 17:59, 25 March 2014 (UTC)

That statment was false, because you cant go in to that door since it was a fake door. Meaning that your entire sentence is a paradox. "First you will be baked, then there will be cake! (tJosve05a (c) 18:01, 25 March 2014 (UTC)

Man, I should start playing portal 2 again once I get over my Driver:SF addiction.... Happy Attack Dog (you rang?) 18:21, 25 March 2014 (UTC)

I don't really like to play games, so I have never played Portal. I have only seen like 12 other gamers played it on YouTube...(tJosve05a (c) 18:35, 25 March 2014 (UTC)

HappyBird

Hi Josve05a, thanks for reviewing | this submission. I have tried to remove all the promotional language, and I believe this is now a neutral entry that is fully supported by the sources. Many thanks.Vivj2012 (talk) 09:21, 26 March 2014 (UTC)

Please give me what copyright information needs to be removed

My submission on Malayalifm was reviewed and rejected because of copyright information. I was asked to create an article by the company which runs the FM radio channel. Can you please let me know what information needs to be removed so that the article Malayalifm can be approved. Lijuantony73 (talk) 16:45, 26 March 2014 (UTC)

Hello. Unfortunately Wikipedia can't have any copyrighted materials on its website, therefor the article has been removed. If you want to create a new article you will have to write it fully from your own words. Make sure that is is written in a neutral point of view and not like an advertisement. Pointing out the obvious

Re: [1] or more accurately to my comment above it: Sometimes the obvious still needs to be stated and the obvious questions with the obvious answers still need to be asked, if only for the benefit of a single person and even if the intent is to get that person to answer to himself, not to the person doing the asking. davidwr/(talk)/(contribs) 23:00, 27 March 2014 (UTC)

Invitation to test WP:AFCHRW

Hi Josve05a! As you're an active AfC reviewer who's provided some useful feedback to us about the old helper script, I'd like to invite you to become one of the first beta testers of a rewritten, redesigned (from the ground up) helper script. You can learn more about it at this page — to try it out, all you'll need to do is add a line of code to your common.js file. I'll appreciate any and all feedback you have (which you can give either by clicking the "Give feedback" link while using the script, or at the rewrite talk page...remember, this is a beta, so there will probably be things broken/awkward/clunky/who-knows-what, which are exactly what we want to hear about ). Thank you in advance! Theopolisme (talk) 10:58, 28 March 2014 (UTC)

Yes, thanks! I going ahead and start using the script right now! (tJosve05a (c) 12:06, 28 March 2014 (UTC)
@Theopolisme: One thin I really lke about the new tool is the big capital letters on the colored backround. When in says DECLINING..., it feels a litle like the game Portal, for some reason. (tJosve05a (c) 22:44, 28 March 2014 (UTC)

Your rejection of my article on Kelly Robinson.

I appreciate that Wikipedia takes copyright violations very seriously, but I am afraid you misread the thread at http://www.network54.com/Forum/172251/message/1388905900/Kelly%27s+Biography I started that thread and the one previous that refers to Kelly Robinson's biography. I am the person who wrote the biography and I shared it with my colleagues on this forum for their input. I remain the sole author. I respectfully request that now that you know this, you will please accept my article. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Xenobia219 (talkcontribs) 04:09, 29 March 2014 (UTC)

Pro12

I am in the process of moving the Pro 12 to 'Pro12' as this is the official title of the league. The current Wikipedia article title is incorrect. I assume good faith, but please refrain from interfering. GallaghersGreek (talk) 23:19, 30 March 2014 (UTC)

1 Bayamón FC

Hi, i believe that edit was a mistake and i wasn't out to delete all contents on the page. I was, however, trying to edit it because it has wrong information. I am new at the wikipedia thing so maybe you can help me out. The Bayamón FC redirects to a page called Puerto Rico FC. This shouldnt happen because Bayamón FC and Puerto Rico FC are the same organization but different clubs. I recently just started a page called Puerto Rico BFC which is the proper name of the team and proceeded to edit the players (PRBFC players were listed as Bayamón) If you could help me in editing this redirect so that Bayamón FC and Puerto Rico BFC are in different pages i would appreciate it. ˜˜˜˜ — Preceding unsigned comment added by Puerto Rico BFC (talkcontribs) 18:23, 28 March 2014 (UTC)
