Gwar discography and other[edit]

why you undo my edits on those articles:

  • 1 at this moment charts, and certifications are not true, you removed sources and correct chart position that i add
  • 2 i did update discography and certifications
  • 3 in this article alredy have been written discography, i did use wikitable to sort all informations and add more sources
  • 4 as i have notify on edit summary timline and videography have been integrated with Gwar discography
  • 5 as i notify on edit summary article was integrated with List of Gwar members
  • i realize that there was war with some other user, but that was not me, what is the point to spend hours on rewriting and adding sources and go to edit war 66.102.129.154 (talk) 10:04, 1 September 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Not sure if I understand why tracking down dead links and mirroring their content is considering "spamming"[edit]

Especially since Wikipedia has a NOFOLLOW policy on links to begin with. All these edits were made to the ref section, only to restore original citations lost to 404s and only mirrored when the original could not be tracked down... Wikipedia would rather have dead links I guess? Also several edits that had been up and considered good for months were reverted too. Seems a bit spiteful.

No good deed goes unpunished I guess. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 24.45.36.252 (talk) 14:12, 17 September 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Suggestion[edit]

Perhaps my added content, pending agreeable references, could be reincorporated by other means? Lack of internet censorship and the moral implications of said phenomenon being the culprit. I would like to describe how this enhanced availability of suicide literature may be linked to recent deaths in the media. Eg Grant Li, Matthew Sattherthwaite and Kevin Boyle all used the internet as a means to acquiring either their method and/or the equipment it involved. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Redzimus (talkcontribs) 10:08, 19 September 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. Wikipedia appreciates your help. We noticed though that when you edited Window film, you added links pointing to the disambiguation pages Homes and Ceramics. Kicks from spurious deletion - Promotion/advertising?![edit]

Dear C759 I am at a loss to understand why you have sought fit to remove all my content - it all objectively links to third party websites proving that what I am stating is true, in summary based on the few contributions made this morning:

  • There is an additional 'Invictus' inspired song in the public domain to those listed on the Invictus page - so I simply stated that and linked to it, objectively with no promotional language etc etc;
  • There is an additional repository of photographic information on Cane Hill asylum, and I've linked to it, again with no promotional language etc;
  • There is an additional angle to anti-drug education, which I've linked to and provided simply as fact without any sort of promotion, citing third party media reports that verify what I have said...

...Having read the Wikipedia treatise on objectivity of content, what exactly is it that makes the many previous entries on Invictus, Cane Hill, Drug Education etc neutral where they refer to other people's creative works, yet my edits promotional, even though they do no more than simply objectively stating and linking as the other entries do?

I must say my confidence and motivation to now add anything at all to Wikipedia has now been singlehandedly destroyed, and even my inclination to use Wikipedia as a basic reference source has been severely altered - I now realize that users can spuriously remove content simply by alleging it is advertising, and that a time-apartheid approach to content entry only allows those with the most time to read unwieldly treaties and extensively argue out minutiae ad absurdium to create any bias of their intent under the banner of 'neutrality'. iPhone 6 in China information[edit]

Hi C759 - you had removed a comment I made on iPhone 6 about its nickname in China. I'm an American living in China so I've heard this firsthand. I felt it was an unusual enough nickname that it merited citing a source, which was in fact a blog entry I had helped publish. This wasn't meant as self-promotion, but it was hard to find other English-language sources that describe this phenomenon. Can I re-add the comment and the attributed source?EmceeInPRC (talk) 03:02, 20 October 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Blogs are not considered reliable sources. Also repeatedly citing sources that you are closely associated is seen as spamming and conflict of interest. -C759 (talk) 04:41, 20 October 2014 (UTC)[reply]

I know Wikipedia from its beginning. I'm almost 40 years old scientist. Why do you think that links to relevant, unique, true photos is "spam"? If you continue to think so, I'll report this issue to the higher community level. I know you became a respectful editor here, but I think you're wrong in this case. Linking to relevant photos isn't spam. Сароман (talk) 14:01, 24 October 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Regarding spamming[edit]

Hey, I see your message regarding me "spamming" with similarkind.com links. I knew that wikipedia puts rel="nofollow" on external links. That was the very reason I placed my website since I had no intent to boost my search rankings but rather people have better experience getting appropriate list. Those list are primarily constructed using Wikipedia and other reliable public data sources like Freebase. I am not even monetizing my site with ads. If still it is against some wikipedia policy then I won't post links. But my motive wasn't that of a "spammer". I only wanted to build something which can help. Response to alleged spamming[edit]

Dear KH-1, With reference to the alleged spamming, I would like to challenge your assumption and request that you reinstate the external links on the legal subject of Damages on the following grounds: (1) the external links were directed so as to take Wiki users to many pages of free materials of the highest educational standard on the subject (3) there is nothing for sale at the redirected web page so there is no commercial gain on my part, the external link is to entirely educational content (3) I effectively have 2 phds on the subject of damages having undertaken many years of research and having written a book on the subject (3) If you google "the law of damages" you will find my web page is the second most used resource on damages on the web (4) I contributed significantly to the Wiki page on Damages many years ago using my own name when editing (from about 2000 onwards), correcting many errors and making the content more accurate (5) I have not included any references to my book under References, which I could have done. The book is not currently offered for sale so there is no question of potential gain at this stage (6) The law of damages is a vast subject comprising centuries of law reporting throughout the English speaking world. It is not possible to provide anything other than an overview of the subject at wiki and numerous external links to further more detailed information are an inevitable consequence. At present there is only one external link (which suggests either no one is bothering to make the information more useful alternatively someone is blocking the addition of links) and the removal of the link in question effectively denies users access to materials which are the subject of high commendation by peers (7) Multiple links to different web pages were appropriate and should not have been regarded as spamming since each link directed readers to distinct web pages containing specific subject matter research. For example, under wiki page Chaplin v Hicks, which contains the barest/minimal detail, I inserted an external link to this page: (liability to pay damages). You will see that the web page specifically mentions the case in question and that it considers the wider principles associated with particular issue of law. Potentially, an external link to the same web page might be included at the following Wiki web page: Story Parchment. Thanks Lawdamages (talk) 17:27, 23 March 2015 (UTC) lawdamages.[reply]

Cannot contest the nomination for speedy deletion of the DLL Group page[edit]

Hello KH-1, I cannot respond to your nomination for speedy deletion on the DLL Group page itself, so that's why I am leaving a message on your talk page. I would like to contest this nomination, because I don't see why the page seems to be unambiguous advertising. DLL Group is a global enterprise and a fully owned subsidiary of Rabobank. DLL is comparable to organizations like Interpolis and Van Lanschot which are also represented on Wikipedia. The company operates in over 35 countries and has approximately 5500 employees and therefore should be represented on Wikipedia. The article describes (the emergence of) the organization but describes in no way why DLL Group is better/more successful/etc. than other companies. I am curious in which way the page seems to be unambiguous advertising in your eyes and would like to know how I can improve it so that it won't be deleted. Waiting for your respons. Hi I am writing on behalf of the page SilverNeedle Hotels which you have nominated for a speedy deletion. I would like to contest for this nomination however the page has been deleted already. Speedy deletion of CineCoffee[edit]

Hello KH-1,

You have nominated the page that i have created for CineCoffee to speedy deletion. I would like to contest for this nomination. Cinecoffee is a entertainment portal serving South Indian film industry. It has got 28% of traffic from search engines. Please let me know which part of the article is violating the wikipedia rules, so that i can remove the violating content to save that page. Why the deletions?[edit]

Hi there,

I am trying to understand why you have deleted valid info in regards to kit cars I have edited. Im just trying to understand why things like a company website would be reverted back to a website list that has a blurb about the company. I would think the company that produces the vehicle would be a better link then a website that references a company name and address. Am I mistaken? What about removing text that adds value to the article by listing what models of cars that a particular company produces?
Im also curious how you can have a list of manufactures in any given country and when a new company (not a company I own) gets added to the list it gets removed. I thought the idea was to show what is out there?

As a long time kit car Enthusiast/Historian any insight you can provide to me in regards to edits you have reverted would be most helpful .
Thanks Kitcarguy (talk) 01:13, 18 August 2015 (UTC)[reply]

In regard to this, I would advise you to assume good faith. The user appears to be a good faith editor with real concerns. A report to AIV is unnecessary, and perhaps even pointy. --ceradon (talkedits) 05:28, 18 August 2015 (UTC)[reply]

I do not even understand how changing a page from "Bradley Automotive" to say something like "Bradley Automotive - Produced the Bradley GT and Bradley GT2" adding a new kit car company to the UK list, updating a company to include their official website instead of a reference to a web list with the companies name, address, and a photo, or better yet capitalizing the first word of a sentence is considered self promotion or better yet vandalism? These were all valid edits based on facts and correct grammar. What did I miss? Kitcarguy (talk) 07:27, 18 August 2015 (UTC)[reply]

The Sunday Times (Western Australia)[edit]

Hi KH-1. I've noticed that you reverted an edit of mine on the The Sunday Times (Western Australia) article. Could I ask on what grounds you made that edit? It was web traffic data for the website of the newspaper and it is as important to be on the article as the physical copies circulation is. Nut that's my opinion. Yours? Thank you. Hi,

This is with regard to your edit of the content in the wiki page https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Versant_Online_Solutions stating that it sounds like an advert. When the message initially appeared I had posted the concern in the help channel, and was suggested a few changes which I addressed immediately and the message was removed by the volunteer. However, three days later, i.e., today, the same message appears on the article, and I was told that I need to talk to you with the following message "the user who re-added the tag did so with an edit summary suggesting they feel the article still reads like an advertisement. I'd suggest contacting that user directly to see what they feel could do with rewording."

So, kindly help me with the guideline on how do I go about with the same. Thanks in advance. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Chennapanaidu darapaneni (talkcontribs) 06:19, 31 August 2015 (UTC)[reply]

It's considered spamming if you target deadlinks in order to switch it to sites that you own or are affiliated with, and there is enough circumstantial evidence to suggest that you have some connection with the source in question.-KH-1 (talk) 05:29, 7 October 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Circumstantial that means made up by you to connect the dots as you see it? — Preceding unsigned comment added by 86.147.33.195 (talk) 05:00, 8 October 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Therefore every person who makes an edit on wikipedia for a dead link must be affiliated with that site? Sorry, but that is extremely paranoid and anyone would say complete nonsense. If you cannot prove your case here I will edit the page again and then seek measures for your misbehaviour with moderators. Wikipedia is not owned by you or your paranoidism! — Preceding unsigned comment added by 86.147.33.195 (talk) 05:06, 8 October 2015 (UTC)[reply]

The use deadlinks for SEO purposes is a well documented practice, according to both investigations on Wikipedia (see these reports [1] [2]) and off-Wiki evidence (see this search result). There are exceptions of course, but the point is that there is cause for suspicion when dealing with editors who target deadlinks, particularly new or unregistered editors. As I said earlier, it's only circumstantial but I find it odd that your edits coincide with the social media activity of Celebritynewsio. What's particularly strange is that this is a story from 2009 and there's no reason for the site to suddenly repeat (on Twitter + Fb) something that occurred six years ago. It's not an update on the perfume range, the post is the exactly story from 2009, closely paraphrased (plagiarised) from the MTV article. The timing itself is odd and suggests that it was probably coordinated by the same person(s). My guess is that contrary to the date stamp, the article was actually created recently and hence the social media accounts were used to promote a new post. By the way, if you want to edit the page again, why not make yourself useful and add the new MTV link.

Why was my draft about Highground Industries deleted?[edit]

That was just mean.

I had barely started adding information to the page. I was still here compiling info & sources & you wiped out the meager notes & info I had saved to the draft! Why would you do that? I didn't have that info saved anywhere else & I would appreciate getting it back please. That basic info took more time to find & verify than you apparently think.

It had only been there for an hour or so & I left a note that I was collecting sources. I am working on adding several underground hip hop artists & musicians to wikipedia & this Highground label released a lot of their early material. Some of the original releases from this label sell around the world for hundreds of dollars per copy because they are so rare in comparison to industry releases.

I am getting a lot of resistance to the creation of these articles when these people obviously have millions of fans, listeners, users etc... By nature underground hip hop does not get a lot of mainstream press but when some one is the author of art, music, or other media that are this popular or culturally significant/influential they deserve a place here. When a song, album, painting, typeface, photo or some other item is in the hands of 10s hundreds of millions it deserves a place here.

In looking at many other published wikipedia listings for similar artists I find them facing the same prejudice with pages slated for deletion & full of comments expressing doubt as to the validity of the references... I witness 2 people JUST TODAY trying to add extremely well known hip hop artists & hitting a brick wall with the editors. Has it occurred to you that there are a lot of things in this world that are relevant, notable or important & yet not the subject of mainstream media attention? I do understand your concerns as to truth & verifiability. I am trying to help. There are people in the arts who are in possession of priceless, first-hand information. I & others are working to collect record a lot of this info before it is lost.

You did not give me any opportunity to add any citations or links to any other wikipedia pages or even the discography or artist roster... I resent this immediate rejection of a simple attempt to record some factual history about an important phenomenon in American culture. What you are doing is the equivalent of saying that Steve Jobs is relevant but Linus Torvalds is not. You are making a mistake and a hasty one at that to delete something so incomplete so quickly. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Graffitihistory (talkcontribs) 01:53, 12 October 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Best to speak to @Bbb23: and ask for an archived copy of the page. If you wish you can then recreate it as a draft via WP:AFC. -KH-1 (talk) 02:20, 12 October 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Why a relevant research report is considered spam? -Sergiy11 (talk)
Please look at the referenced reports before labeling them "spam". Also please check the other sources which cited them.
Your edit history suggests that you're here to populate articles with links to the Keytocasino website. Your attempt at targeting deadlinks (see WP:DEADLINKSPAM) is more evidence of this. A link can still be considered spam even if it's relevant. -KH-1 (talk) 00:26, 24 October 2015 (UTC)[reply]
I never argued about the dead links I replaced. If it is against the rules, then so be it. However you keep removing the contributions which have absolutely nothing to do with the dead links. They refer to the reports with real relevant research cited elsewhere. removing links[edit]

Hi

Thanks for your message about removing the link on https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Energy_in_the_United_Kingdom

The original link was to the home page of a broker, I updated this to the news page of another broker - more relevant as the title was energy industry news. It seems you've now removed the link completely which is fine.

Where the most relevant content is on a site that I'm affiliated with, what is the best/correct way to add/update that content?

--NickEastwood (talk) 11:39, 29 October 2015 (UTC)[reply]

I'm sure you'll be able to find relevant content elsewhere. KH-1 (talk) 11:47, 29 October 2015 (UTC)[reply]
some of the content is to fill dead links by recreating the original content - as such it's the most relevant. Surely it's better to use the most relevant? Or do I have to find someone non affiliated to add the same link? --NickEastwood (talk) 15:25, 29 October 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Removed link on Roman Shades[edit]

Hello there!

I just logged in to my Wiki and saw your message about the edit you made which removed a link I added.

I do see that the website linked is not strictly informational, but it was what I used as a reference when I made a number of updates to the post, so I was attempting to cite the source of my material. Should I have added it as references instead of an external link? I would think a specific figure would need a citation, but a general source of info would be a External reference.

December 2015[edit]

Stop icon

Your recent editing history at Mortise lock shows that you are currently engaged in an edit war. To resolve the content dispute, please do not revert or change the edits of others when you get reverted. Instead of reverting, please use the article's talk page to work toward making a version that represents consensus among editors. The best practice at this stage is to discuss, not edit-war. See BRD for how this is done. If discussions reach an impasse, you can then post a request for help at a relevant noticeboard or seek dispute resolution. In some cases, you may wish to request temporary page protection.

Being involved in an edit war can result in your being blocked from editing—especially if you violate the three-revert rule, which states that an editor must not perform more than three reverts on a single page within a 24-hour period. Undoing another editor's work—whether in whole or in part, whether involving the same or different material each time—counts as a revert. Also keep in mind that while violating the three-revert rule often leads to a block, you can still be blocked for edit warring—even if you don't violate the three-revert rule—should your behavior indicate that you intend to continue reverting repeatedly.

Hi, I'm completely new to wikipedia, that was my only contribution ever, so I'm interested in learning what part of ELNO is relevant here, particiularly what's the difference between ELNO as applied to the original link (before it died, obviously), and the working generator I linked to. Did the original one just slip through before it died, or is there a difference? I think acronymgenerator.net should be listed as it can generate, e.g. from the keywords:

"seasonal disarray melancholy emotive"

the backronym

"SAD: SEASONAL, AFFECTIVE, DISORDERLINESS",

for example. Is that not a valid backronym generator? And if not strictly, in your opinion, why not and is not the pursuit of an example of a working backronym generator any longer desired and if not, why not? Paulskypod (talk) 12:46, 7 February 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Hi, not spamming with external link[edit]

Hi,

I am not spamming Wikipedia with external links. It was a dead link which was replaced by something important to Vitality curve.

The link which was added was not part of advertising or business intention, but as a reference, to what people think of the vitality curve and how thought leadership can edit for benefits.

If you can, please do me a favour of guiding external links which help to get an article more references.

explain yourself please[edit]

Although I'm still upset at your approach of just removing everything added to a page... I'll attempt to justify the changes I made to your *%^* page that requested additional citations. I had added the only known united states directory(via Hostsearch) for web hosting providers and I had added another page that referenced the top hosting providers. I will agree that the last one may not have been needed for clarifications. However, I did contribute to your page by adding the only source available on the internet that can verify the statement requesting a citation. If justification is what you call collaboration then there you go. /ragequit — Preceding unsigned comment added by 70.119.82.14 (talk) 23:49, 22 March 2016 (UTC)

Please revisit your edits[edit]

Hi talk::KH-1,

Let me start by saying sorry if I made any wrong edits to the Wikipedia pages in question on my account. I truly thought that I was adding value to Wikipedia in general. If you deem the last edit I made as spam, simply leave it alone and I won't cite that source again however I believe many of my previous edits to be relevant and all from different reputable sources. In fact we can't source all citations from news websites or encyclopedias or does Wikipedia have a bias towards those types of websites? All these pages needed citations and I tried very hard to cite relevant documents and reputable sources to the full extent of my knowledge. If doing so is almost impossible, as it seems you have deemed according to your reversions of almost all my edits, I don't see anymore reason to contribute to Wikipedia.

These links were alive for more than a month since I registered and started contributing to Wikipedia. I would ask you to please revisit the following which I believe to be relevant and revert your edits if possible:

Air transports of heads of state and government

Removed Table[edit]

RE: /wiki/Home_insurance

Just curious why you would remove the table I added and the information for basic, broad, and special forms. I know you don't want "commercial" citations but that's the best place I could find the information in an easier to understand way than what already exists on the page.

I feel like that table really helps readers understand the difference between structural and personal property coverage as well as introduces the concept of form limits. If you want, I can rewrite that whole section to remove what's currently there and replace it with the table, definitions of basic, broad, and special forms, and explain named perils and standard exclusions.

The current descriptions are so vague....

HO2 – Broad Form A more advanced form that provides coverage on a home against 16 listed perils (including all 11 on the HO1). The coverage is usually a "named perils" policy, which lists the events that would be covered.

This description doesn't even list the 5 new perils.

or this

HO5 – Comprehensive Form Covers the same as HO3 plus more. On this policy the contents are covered on an open peril basis, therefore as long as the cause of loss is not specifically excluded in the policy it will be covered for that cause of loss.

An HO3 plus more??? Again, no new or relevant information.

At least defining basic, broad, and special allows the users to figure out the core principals. How should I proceed?

Question on removal of edit to instruction manual[edit]

The edit that I added to the page ( https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Zen_Cart ) was a link to a manual that is widely used has been since its inception. I realize you say it is spam, but how can that be any different than the entry (just a few above the one I added) that looks like this (and was accepted):

Hardy, Kerrin (2009). Zen Cart CSS Guide - A complete Guide to Zen Cart Stylesheets. Australia: Kerrin Hardy.

There is no difference (the above references an external link as well). I strongly believe the link should be added back into the page as it is one of the main books zen cart users have turned to for increasing their sales. Likewise, if you feel the inclusion I listed does not belong, then the above one I referenced by Kerrin Hardy doesn't belong either and should be removed. Please explain the difference in the two listings ... one of which IS accepted. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Carrie at The Fischer Group (talkcontribs) 22:04, 18 August 2016 (UTC)[reply]

(talk page stalker)@NatalieAndersenLive: Hi, I've familiarized myself with what happened.
I think your attempt to was likely reverted because "GetGoodGrade.com" is some kind of paper mill that is using a mirror of the article to draw traffic from Google, etc. I think he looked at the navbar on top of the page and found that it is promoting the assignment-forging side of the business, and assuming they will . I, myself, don't think that you directly intended to promote this business. In future, it would be better to either look for an internet archiving service, or, in your case, the current Ministry of Education requirements. I tried the Internet Archive/Wayback Machine and found content immediately.

Edit reverts[edit]

The edits you reverted by giving reason 'spam'. Have you gone through WP:CITESPAM which states "Often these are added not to verify article content but rather to populate numerous articles with a particular citation." However link I added do not meed this criteria. You need to discuss before making further reverts. 39.54.137.132 (talk) 17:37, 23 October 2016 (UTC)[reply]

(talk page stalker) I looked into your contribution to wedding anniversary. I think the reason he thought it was spam is because giftsreadytogo.com has banners across the top about pricing and sales-type stuff. The content, itself, does not say "buy from us", explicitly. However, I think you're saying that this is you. You attempted to use the citation in gift basket and wedding anniversary, and, in my perception, that seems to mean your editing seems to only exist to post this link across multiple articles, though not necessarily "numerous" articles. It therefore looks a bit like spam. Discuss-Dubious (t/c) 02:29, 1 November 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Payday loans in Australia.are illegal[edit]

Could you please explain why you keep reverting these changes? Evidence has been provided that they are in fact illegal in Australia and have been for over 3 years, many references have been linked to not only government resources (available to public) but research, media releases, and stories in the media. What else is needed for this change to stay as people should be aware Payday loans are illegal in Australia. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 59.100.2.192 (talk) 06:34, 6 December 2016 (UTC)[reply]

What do you mean spam links?[edit]

I have researched what I have put in as resource links. It doesn't mean that they are not from big sites like Forbes or BBc, doesn't mean they are not legit. Basically, you've undone everything I have put in as supporting links, and mark it as spam as you have said , even if it isn't. I think both of us here are editors, so I will plead my case to anyone who are superadmins (or equal). The way I am seeing your wall, I've seen that you crazily reverted pages as spam, even though it isn't. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Llcoolj89 (talkcontribs) 13:28, 8 December 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Email spam[edit]

Hello,

I am writing in connection of my dead link fix on https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Email_spam. You reverted my fix and the link is dead again. Could you please explain that?

From my side: 1. The updated link is a single source of the original article. 2. Web Archive is empty for the original source. 3. The updated domain is MUCH older (1995) than Wikipedia...

Kind regards, Denis. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Nekker1982 (talkcontribs) 00:43, 25 January 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Any reason why you wanted to remove an external link I included to a website?[edit]

Hi there,

The link to which you are reverting is Dead. That site doesn't have the copy of that content, and I even checked the archive.org/web to find that web page and the author has said himself that "content is not edited properly."

Then I added the link to the review of that product. The link that I added don't have any affiliate link on its page, nor it shows any advertisement, has images and is to the topic.

Any reason why you wanted to remove an external link I included to a website? I did not think it qualified as "spam". — Preceding unsigned comment added by Blogvkp (talkcontribs) 05:04, 17 February 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Question[edit]

Curious: Why did you delete our citation? We edited the entire page for language, grammar, and clarity, then we added a link that clarified a line about Organic SEO. Was this link considered spam? We avoided any promotion of our brand in the specific link. Just curious about your thinking--and the "house rules" around here. Why was COI driven request edit removed because of COI?[edit]

Thank you for taking a look at my edit request for adding Edlib to a list of sequence alignment libraries. I was hoping you could explain why you reverted it? I followed instructions for COI editing: I requested edit and disclosed that I am the author. I also provided information on why I believe the edit should be made. From what I can see, you simply tagged my request with COI and reverted it - what is the point of me requesting the edit because of COI if you just tag it as COI and remove it without any explanation? SEO page[edit]

Hey! Just wondering why you reverted my edit of the additional source? The one that was used was pretty out of date (2004), so I wanted to add a source that had a little bit more info & was more recent. One of my Wikipedia future goals is to become a new page reviewer, and corrections like adding newer/more reliable sources to save pages is something I'm interested in - so I was hoping to practice by adding better sources to established pages. Feedback would be greatly appreciated. :) Rtt11talk 00:03, 27 July 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Adding on, since I'm trying to figure it out! There's a few large chunks of text in that section that are completely unsourced; would it be better if I sourced those? Or added a few updated sentences based on a new source? I'm just confused!

Looming edit war[edit]

It appears as though we are headed to edit war. Instead of blindly reverting my edits, perhaps you have some expertise or useful information on the subject of engineered stone contertops? OR you could replace the PERMANENT DEAD LINK with one you have researched on your your own.

I know you are about to revert for a third time, and I am going to report it to 3RR.

The entire countertop page is a mess but it can't be fixed if I can't even correct factual errors in one part of it.

Leave it alone or revert it and fix it yourself. If it's right, I won't touch it. You are currently standing in the way of progress.

September 2017[edit]

You currently appear to be engaged in an edit war according to the reverts you have made on Pay-per-click. Users are expected to collaborate with others, to avoid editing disruptively, and to try to reach a consensus rather than repeatedly undoing other users' edits once it is known that there is a disagreement.

Please be particularly aware that Wikipedia's policy on edit warring states:

  1. Edit warring is disruptive regardless of how many reverts you have made.
  2. Do not edit war even if you believe you are right.

If you find yourself in an editing dispute, use the article's talk page to discuss controversial changes; work towards a version that represents consensus among editors. You can post a request for help at an appropriate noticeboard or seek dispute resolution. In some cases it may be appropriate to request temporary page protection. If you engage in an edit war, you may be blocked from editing. Alexf(talk) 11:36, 16 September 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Response[edit]

KH-1 - You just removed my contributions accusing me of spamming. Some of the entries were based on a book I wrote with years of research behind it. I had a lot to contribute! You also removed information that was linked to a site of reference material, even sourced with it's own references. That site isn't a store and the posts were not intended to sell a product. Maybe you assume that because the sources were similar that I'm spamming. But I've spent all day being very careful to only add relevant information.

It's still considered spam even if it's not a store. See WP:REFSPAM and WP:COI. -KH-1 (talk) 01:45, 10 October 2017 (UTC)[reply]
KH-1, are you a person or a robot? I don't want to ask a bot questions. Obviously I'm new to this site and you're a veteran. How about you show me how I can be a better contributor? For example, I love to geek out on spray paint info. It's strange but I've searched all over the internet over the years, spoken to a half dozen top level manufacturer's, read books, etc to get niche info. When I added information to the spray paint article, it was only a small piece and only what I was most confident is correct. Can you show me how you would have contributed that information? How should I have done it? Since I'm doing it wrong, I need to learn how to do it right.
Your lack of response confirms to me that this isn't about how valid the information is. This is about proving that you're the gate keeper.

Reason For Revert?[edit]

Hello there. Just wondering why you happened to revert all 5 of my source additions to articles. Would be nice to know if that was included in the edit summary and such. Thanks. FiendYT

wondering why update to ENERGY STAR page was removed[edit]

Hi KH-1,

I am new to editing wikipedia pages. I am trying to figure out why several updates I made to the wikipedia page for the ENERGY STAR program were removed. As the program's director of communications (and contributor to the early development of the program back in the 1990s), I am quite confident that the updates are correct. The old version was misleading in many ways.

Did I fail to add sufficient comments explaining the changes? I tried to add footnotes/references for every significant change so anyone can verify that the updates are correct.

Stop removing my references; this was a completely reliable source and relevant to the topic at hand. You're going way out of hand with your reverts and I see that's pretty much all you do. Rather than police the site it would be great if you contribute to it as well. Stop politicizing Wikipedia and removing anything from the site that you don't deem from a "reliable source" or simply because you don't agree with the viewpoint or content. Hello KH-1,

Edits on exterior cleaning page and window cleaning page[edit]

Why have these been removed? They are in no way an infringement of wiki rules and offer not only further reading but a point of reference. In both cases.

I referenced the largest window cleaning institution in Scotland and that was removed and also a site that exemplifies the varied roles of a modern exterior cleaner.

Furthermore the blog also seems to highlight the process of actually cleaning windows, for the wiki window cleaning page. These wiki pages both have barely any references on them as it is, and i work in social care and feel insulted that the message I received insinuates I have any link to these sites. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Chris Fotheringham (talkcontribs) 02:07, 28 February 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Dead Link Edits[edit]

Had you actually checked, you would have seen the dead link was replaced with a new link that contained content identical to the previous. Is it your goal to leave Wikipedia with dead links just to spite new users?? I am looking at the talk board here and it seems as though you are slow and incomplete to answer users' questions after reverting their edits. If I don't hear back from you in a reasonable amount of time, I will make this edit again and I expect you to not touch it anymore. I will assume your silence is a acknowledgement of your mistake. Recent Edit of "Sprained Ankle" page[edit]

Hey,

Sorry to bother you but I wanted to ask you a quick question. Yesterday, I made my first ever edit on Wikipedia as I included a paragraph in the "Sprained Ankle" page. I cited several journals and two websites which got removed. I noticed you left the two links in the External Links section, however, so my question is - Is it frowned upon to put anchored external links within the text and they have to be strictly in the External Link section? Or does it have to do with the websites in particular? I'm curious because some pages don't have the section External Links, so does that mean that external links are not allowed on those pages?

Like I said, sorry to bother you but I am brand new at this and I hate making mistakes. It's a stupid OCD thing. Thank you for your time. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Insomnia kg (talkcontribs) 03:33, 4 April 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Removal of my image[edit]

Hello,

My image was just taken down unfairly. I have shot most Australian whiskies and am not loyal or do not own STARWARD. The image I uploaded I thought better represented the page as STARWARD is the largest Australian whisky producer, just as the American whiskey page might have a photo of a Jack Daniels bottle. Edit Reverted[edit]

You replied "the whole thing". I've only used public information and cited resources. What specific sections are not allowed?

Why did you remove an entire, well-sourced and informative article?[edit]

I'm the author of text of Carmel Snow that has been on this site for a decade.

I had deep knowledge of the subject and considered it a scholarly entry. I aimed to present her, as she was, as a cultural force who brought the work of some of the greatest talents of the last century, from Truman Capote to Cristobal Balenciaga to Henri Cartier-Bresson (and many more) in to the pages of her magazine.

I don't think readers will be served by this new version.

You have added new information re her wedding dress, etc. Fine! But why delete the original material that placed the subject in context and made a case for her enduring importance?

The details you add could be easily woven into the existing text.

Biographer1 (talk) 10:50, 13 June 2018 (UTC)[reply]

The article needs to be properly sourced with in-line citations (see WP:IC). Your version had nothing other than a link to Amazon. -KH-1 (talk) 00:21, 14 June 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Adding Home Ownership and /* Alternative models and management philosophies */[edit]

Hi,

I spent a lot of time adding 2 new paragraphs that you removed entirely as SPAM. You are certainly right that 3 out of the 11 total links I provided as references were from my website, but in each case they were for free services and if you have better links from somewhere else that answer the topics better than my own website (free credit boosting, a list of ways to have low cost and free unconventional shelter where I am not paid a dime, and free down payment assistance list), why not just edit my additions by replacing those 3 links? By removing my edits entirely, you removed a plethora of important information without providing any substitute. If you are unaware of a better substitute, why change anything when each of the 3 websites were for free services? — Preceding unsigned comment added by AdamBGarrett (talkcontribs) 01:27, 14 June 2018 (UTC)[reply]

See WP:COIEDIT. There's not much that can be salvaged from that name dropping spiel. -KH-1 (talk) 02:36, 14 June 2018 (UTC)[reply]

That's ludicrous. Have you ever been homeless? It's very important that they are able to get quality content, especially free content.

Dear KH!

I'd love to have a chat with you about this edit and how we can collaborate on this text. My goal is to craft a well-written, informative text about a fascinating woman, Carmel Snow.

My thought was to combine the information you so recently contributed with my own information, which is based on extensive research and a fairly academic assessment of her role in 20th century culture.

My edit yesterday sought to combine both of our perspectives.

My understanding re Wikipedia is that there can be multiple contributors to any post.

I would love to collaborate with you on an excellent text that we both feel serves the subject well.

Shall we confer together to see what we can come up with? I'd welcome the opportunity. Please let me know how you'd like to proceed

Warm collegial wishes,

Changes to City Harvest Page[edit]

Hi KH-1,

I was wondering why you changed the edits I made to the City Harvest page yesterday. I work at City Harvest and am trying to update the information, language, and data to reflect the charities current operating level and preferred language. The edits I made all come from City Harvest's website, or internal City Harvest metrics that we have. Over the next couple weeks I will be making more changes as well. Such as getting rid of "Healthy Neighborhoods" (we no longer use this title) and updating City Harvest's programs to reflect how they operate currently.

Feel free to email me at dgans@cityharvest.org if you want to verify that I do work at City Harvest.

Best,

Hi KH-1,

I actually just noticed your comment about my edits being self-promotion. Is there specific language that I should change so that it doesn't come across that way? I can also just update the quantitative data so that it's up to date, without changing the language on the page too much.

Best,

Duncan

page entitled James J. Riley[edit]

After I was elected as Fellow of the American Association for the Advancement of Science, someone -- unbeknowst to me -- set up a wikipedia page for me. Unfortunately it was extremely limited, and in fact gave a very limited opinion of my career (for example, not mentioning that I am a member of the National Academy of Engineering, etc.). So my choices were to either have the page deleted, or to expand on the page with some additional information about myself. I chose to do the latter and extended the page to what now exists; all of my input on the page is is easy to verify. But I am not sure what to do next; I know very little about setting up or editing pages on wikipedia.James.joseph.riley (talk) 00:10, 4 August 2018 (UTC)[reply]

I can't see a section on academics - do you mean "Academic performance" - which seems to have all claims cited. The inspections bit is again cited and although mostly positive does include less "outstanding" comments such as "recommendation for improvement was the raising of teaching standards, by increasing the proportion of lessons rated outstanding from their current good rating", "Teachers do not always check on students' learning in lessons closely enough. Consequently, some students, particularly the less able, are either not challenged enough or do not receive the help they need to succeed" & "Development plans are not clear enough about how actions will be evaluated, particularly their effect on pupils' achievement" etc. Would you mind having a go at the bits you feel are excessive?— Rod talk 17:49, 6 August 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Revert of Significant Edits[edit]

Hello, I will be as polite as possible here. But I would like to know why my hard put info is straight being rejected and reverted without any justification and under some foolish concept as spam on some of them. My info as well as the time and genuine effort involved in trying to bring further information into the inquiring minds of thoughtful individuals ... simply reverted: no update, no questions, nothing. Rude. Discourteous. And quite frankly infuriating. Few hours of time for what? To be reverted to the much less informative version it was before? Really!? My info is detailed and to the point and comes from the source, me, my research. Information comes from somewhere, citations and sources are needed and expected in professional environments, providing the source of information that includes further information relevant to what the individual is seeking is absolutely needed within this age of information. The info I am trying to add and make available to people is difficult to find and only available to those within this particular, fairly individualized industry who know it or who know how to find the info.

So--if we can please avoid any further issues of this sort, it would greatly appreciated so the route doesn't have to go a different way. Thank you, A. S. Eccles (talk) 22:27, 28 August 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Why did you revert my edit on the Local SEO page? It was valid information; keep it, it will help people better understand what differentiates Local SEO from Normal SEO. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 71.179.94.117 (talk) 01:27, 29 August 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Intermediate Bulk Container Page[edit]

Respectful Question: Why is my legitimate and well-researched info being moderated and removed as ecommerce spam? You have claimed the info is sourced from spam with only sell intention, but this is not true as industry advancement and furtherance of knowledge is the main goal, and the information beyond the IBC containers on those pages is extensive and sourced from governmental regulations and certification authorities only (Title 49 CFR, DOT/UN, ANSI, NSF, ASME, UL142, NFPA, IMDG, etc.)

My additions are made in good faith. I am not erasing every other link on there. I did not remove Metano Usa nor Action Sealite, because even though they are companies that sell products, they are also professional resources in their fields and likely have some knowledge concerning the subject.

And so on that note, I would politely ask for perhaps more consideration concerning my additions and its overall source content.

Notice

The article Crowdfunder has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

Currently sourced to two press release - unable to find more than mere mentions in sources.

While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, pages may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the page to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. All of my hard working contributions, looking to the backroots of UCL academy and revising the Construction plan of the Building and finding the people who actually started and investing into this magnificent suite. Me and my colleges have been approached by the IT manager from the Academy and we have been told to update the irrelevant information that is outdated by the old construction companies and to replenish the new stock holders and construction contracts. If you may need the files to this Evidence I would gladly sent it towards your direction.

I find it quite bad-mannered for you to mock me about my double deficit dyslexia publicly but I digress. I can clearly understand why you find my edits to be mendacious and believe my edits are vandalizing Wikipedia, but the fact of the matter is that I have been authorized by the IT manager to update the new construction contracts that have been outdated since the start of this year. I would gladly supply you the contracts and the evidence if you would allow me to. My colleges and I find it highly unprofessional and quite lewd about the comments you made about us, but this is the internet and people tend to say what they want. I would highly appreciate if you could allow my team to continue our work, without us being flagged for "vandalism" if you have any inquiries feel free to email me at my email mikebrad821@gmail.com

The removed links on Arteriovenous Malformations[edit]

Hi, I saw some notes on the AVM page which said they needed a citation/reference, so I added some from the curehht.org foundation which I thought were good pages explaining those parts of the Wikipedia text. I'm wondering why the references I cited were reverted. Do you need more info about the HHT foundation and which medical authorities are affiliated? Or would you prefer I cite medical studies directly, instead of medical advocacy groups who can direct people to a variety of medical studies and doctors? I don't contribute on Wikipedia often, but since there was no reason given for the reversion I'm just trying to better understand how to add contributions. And if I typed up this question wrong too, I'm very sorry. Thank you. Here's the site I linked in the article. http://www.curehht.org Packrat1 (talk) 16:42, 11 April 2019 (UTC)packrat1[reply]

Hey, I recently added an active link on the plastic surgery page and it was changed the second time. Can i know the reason so that I don't repeat it in future? Thank you. Akash wikiedit (talk) 16:31, 16 July 2019 (UTC)akash[reply]

Thanks for asking. That link appears to be largely self-promoting of the commercial organisation. Therefore, it probably violates the wikipedia guideline of WP:PROMOTION. It certainly violates WP:MEDRS. It also doesn't really add anything extra that the Brachioplasty article doesn't already have. peterl (talk) 22:15, 16 July 2019 (UTC)[reply]

But according to WP:MEDRS we aren't allowed to give medical advice. The article that I linked did not give any medical advice. Also the article referenced was in no way promotional. Akash wikiedit (talk) 12:14, 18 July 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Got Milk[edit]

Source? I am the source with personal knowledge. I'm the son of David Williams, and know the facts on his idea for the phrase used in milk advertising. Before it was selected, the idea it was grammatically incorrect came up, but he was positive it'd be a catchy phrase. I'm not the only one who knows this fact. Thank you. - - - - Chris303CO — Preceding unsigned comment added by ChrisCO303 (talkcontribs) 14:49, 24 July 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Dead link removal[edit]

Good morning, KH-1

I change dead links in article without changing article text.

"What can be done with a dead external link Main pages: Wikipedia:Citing sources § Preventing and repairing dead links, and Wikipedia:Link rot Links to dead URLs in a list of external links are of no use to Wikipedia articles. Such dead links should either be updated or removed."

The Big Day[edit]

Hey, I believe this may have been an accident, but wanted to give you a heads-up regarding this edit at The Big Day. You removed all the featured artists that have been added on Apple Music and Tidal and instead had them relisted as uncredited vocalists. Hi KH-1, I am sorry If I made a mistake. My intention was not promotional at all. I was helping the community by removing the dead link and attaching a more relevant link to it.

GoDaddy edit[edit]

A reader wrote to Wikimedia ticket:2019082910002804.

They pointed out that one of the sentences in the GoDaddy article was supported by a link that is identified as a permanent dead link.

They suggested an alternative article as a replacement. I noted that the numbers and dates with slightly different so suggested that it would not work to simply replace a dead link with a working link, it would require modifying the text to reflect the source.

The individual did that, but you reverted:

here

You may well have a good rationale but I don't see it. While there may be questions about whether the alternative source counts as an acceptable reliable source, the current situation is that we have a claim that is unsupported.

The person is written back letting me know that they followed my advice and made the change but were reverted. What should I tell that person?S Philbrick(Talk) 14:10, 30 August 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Why JDocs is not reliable?[edit]

The article I wrote on JDocs is well researched and latest updated. Compare with the TIMES one, they have not covered all the points and also look at the article length of TIMES, how can they cover all the topics in that short length? Check the article in https://jdocs.com/godaddy-domains-loses/ and also to clear you that JDocs is a 15 years old site. I am not sure what I have violated that should prohibit me adding external links to useful information on the related topics. Proteobacteria[edit]

Gram is capitalized (as it should be) in the rest of the article. Google Code-In 2019 is coming - please mentor some documentation tasks![edit]

Hello,

Google Code-In, Google-organized contest in which the Wikimedia Foundation participates, starts in a few weeks. This contest is about taking high school students into the world of opensource. I'm sending you this message because you recently edited a documentation page at the English Wikipedia.

I would like to ask you to take part in Google Code-In as a mentor. That would mean to prepare at least one task (it can be documentation related, or something else - the other categories are Code, Design, Quality Assurance and Outreach) for the participants, and help the student to complete it. Please sign up at the contest page and send us your Google account address to google-code-in-admins@lists.wikimedia.org, so we can invite you in!

From my own experience, Google Code-In can be fun, you can make several new friends, attract new people to your wiki and make them part of your community.

If you have any questions, please let us know at google-code-in-admins@lists.wikimedia.org.

Thank you!

The article on Australian mammals is incorrect. Firstly, the article cites the largest native mammal to be the red kangaroo when it should describe the largest native Terrestrial mammal to be the red Kangaroo. The International Ecotourism Society edits[edit]

Hello KH-1,

The article as it stands is defamatory, only uses negative sources, and gives false information. The articles stood for years before it was attacked. Please Allow it to revert to the original before Roi edited it. He works for a competing organization. Dental Jim[edit]

Hey, I have just added a quick link to my website in the periodontal disease page, specifically signs and symptoms. I am currently a third year dentistry student at KCL. My website outlines these stages in great deal, which I believe is a great asset to this condensed Wiki page. All my information is completely up to date and clinically relevant as I am learning from some of best teachers in the world. I believe I have broken the info down to a level appropriate for patients, students and dentists alike. I would love for people to improve their knowledge of oral hygiene through this Wiki page and also my page! I invite you to read my page on the subject and I subsequently hope this minor edit can stay. Have a great day and happy Wiki'ing, James :) — Preceding unsigned comment added by DentistJim (talkcontribs) 13:21, 13 January 2021 (UTC)[reply]

As you can i see from the article edited, they're dead links and I have followed wikipedia editing guide and also supplies relevant links relating to the articles. If a website is repeatedly supplied by me sometimes, maybe due to the site has the information required and does not necessary mean that I am the owner of the sites because, i can see, most of the dead link I updated have been reverted by you and that's means discouragement to contributing to wikipedia for the legacy to live on. Check the history of my account and you'll see that it is an old account and I am not here to supply spam websites or links. Therefore, I urge you to revert the change or some by carefully reviewing them before taking action.

However, I by omission, I mistakenly go against the rules, my apology but blacklisting people websites where i source information without the owners knowing may be detriment to the people resource, therefore, a clear understanding is required in handling situation that we sometime holds assumption.

Quick question about an edit you reverted...[edit]

Edit after going through your talk page archives: I'll just assume if you don't respond, if I do my due diligence and confirm the references I add are in fact credible and appropriate, I'll just readd them with better justifications in the edit description. (like a research article from a journal, a news article, and a blog that is better in quality than the current sources etc.)

Original question: I was trying to fix the unreferenced section in the article Baby sling by adding a bunch of sources but I neglected to read the Referencing for Beginners fully, also your tag Refspam/non-RS and reading No Original Research was helpful. Thanks for fixing that, I thought it would be ok since I really didn't add any information and just found sources for the information provided already by wikipedia completely unsourced. Anyways here's my question: Is it ok to just leave the article as it is? i.e. if I recheck the links/references I provided should I re-add them? Symphoricarpos albus (talk) 00:01, 9 December 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Edits to Online Grocer Wiki Page[edit]

Hello. Hope all is good. I am trying to add value to Wikipedia and just edited the online grocer wikipedia page, to include additional information and expand on the article. I noticed that you undid my changes and added note refSpam. I would like to know more about why you undid the changes so I can improve my edits in the future. Simply adding a note with refSpam doesn't help explain your decision.

One of the referenced links provides data to backup the sentence and the other is a New York Times article? Are New York Times articles considered spam now? I have seen New York Times articles referenced in many pages with no issues. The references also backup the additional sentence I added via data from the referenced links. Would appreciate an explanation as to why you undid the changes, mainly to help me improve my edits in the future.

Thank you --Kingoptimizer (talk) 04:06, 20 December 2021 (UTC)[reply]

"Organicallyblissfull" is a health wellness blog that engages in affiliate marketing (fails WP:RS) and its survey is hardly authoritative. The NYT article doesn't actually discuss online grocers so I'm not sure why you'd want to include it.-KH-1 (talk) 04:24, 20 December 2021 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks for explaining. That makes sense. However, I am confused about one thing. There are 1000's of links on Wikipedia from sites that use affiliates. New York Times uses affiliates - that's how a lot of sites make money, however not every page on a website/journal/blog/news outlet has affiliate offers, which is why I added the organicallyblissful link. I get the New York Times link is not relevant but again, they also have an affiliate policy and make money with affiliates on certain pages. Excluding every single website that has affiliate policy doesn't seem like a good rule of thumb (mainly because some of their pages don't have affiliate offers). Any suggestions on how to go about assessing if a website/news outlet/blog/journal can be added as a reference or not? (assuming the actual page from the website doesn't have affiliate offers off-course). Is there a link to an article about all that on Wikipedia? Thanks again for your help!Kingoptimizer (talk) 00:29, 21 December 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Chamonix Cameras article[edit]

Hi KH-1, I realized that you deleted the entry page for Chamonix Cameras that I created. I would like to express my disappointment because this is an existing camera manufacturer producing excellent cameras since a decade ago. Thousands of photographers around the world use it. I am a private person not having economic interest on the company. As a large format photographer, I consider that is necessary to list existing manufacturers (see link below) and inform the public and new students about existing cameras. If wikipedia does not accept entry points for an existing manufacturer, then why other companies producing photographic equipment are there? I see medium format manufacturers like Bronica, Mamiya, Hasselblad(active), and large format manufacturers Sinar(active), Paubel, Toyo... etc. Leica(active)...

Please explain me the reasons, and how should an article be created so that it is acceptable. I did not include it for publicity purposes but for the sake of completeness.

Tagging pages for speedy deletion[edit]

Hello, KH-1,

Just a reminder that when you tag a page for any type of deletion (CSD, PROD, AFD/RFD/TFD/etc.), you need to post a notification on the talk page of the page creator. It's an important step in the deletion process and helps new editors know there are problems with their page creations and what they are.

Posting notices is made easy if you use Twinkle to tag pages because once you set up your Twinkle Preferences to "Notify page creator", Twinkle will post these notices for you. Please do this in the future. Thank you!

Hi KH-1,

First up thank you for all the great work you do in moderating and editing articles, it's appreciated. I'm Jim and I'm new to article creation. I would like to make articles for musicians I like.

My first effort was for the artist Conrad Clipper, who I'm a fan of. I tried to use non-tabloid and high quality links but still, I got the general notability guideline, esp:

"Please help to demonstrate the notability of the topic by citing reliable secondary sources that are independent of the topic and provide significant coverage of it beyond a mere trivial mention."

Do you have any advice or suggestions as to which link / source was unsatisfactory?

Please accept apologies in advance if you are not the person to come to for this, and thanks again!

Hello,

May I ask why you removed my edits to this article - https://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Public_adjuster&oldid=1081166497

I provided factual information for policyholders that would protect their best interest in a claim.

It is not ideal for a property owner to contact only their insurance company to report a property damage claim, it is required of them to contact the insurance provider, but it is highly recommended that they also contact a public adjuster during that process.

It is also a best practice for the property owner to have BOTH the public adjuster and their insurance company's adjuster meet at the property at the beginning of their claim.

This ensures the property owner has expert representation to start their claim. — Preceding unsigned comment added by SillPublicAdjusters (talkcontribs) 18:17, 6 April 2022 (UTC)[reply]

World Book Day[edit]

In the region of Catalonia in Spain there exists a day, called Sant Jordi, devoted to celebrate books (and other things) on the same date (April 23rd) as the World Book Day. However, I have tried and failed to find any UNESCO document which states that the World Book Day is in any way inspired by the Spanish celebration. Instead, all UNESCO documents I've found point to the fact that three major writers, Shakespeare, Cervantes and Garcilaso de la Vega, passed away on that date -- which is why the Spanish celebration was established on that very same day in the first place.

The claim made in the article that the World Book Day was inspired by Sant Jordi does have a reference, but the reference focuses on the latter and makes no mention whatsoever of the former. That's why I deleted the claim as original research. You reverted my deletion, so I thought maybe you have some additional information I'm not aware of, and I would be very pleased if you were so kind as to share it with me.--Josep Amunt i Avall (talk) 17:43, 18 May 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Why did you delete?[edit]

Hi there, Could you please explain why you deleted my edits? https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Walker_Corporation — Preceding unsigned comment added by Hattie124 (talkcontribs) 04:05, 25 May 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Edit Reversion at Click-through rate[edit]

Hi, you reverted my edit here on CTR page, citing ref-spamming. Please explain how generalizing CTR formula and adding a reference to it, is ref-spamming. I've re-reverted your edit, and would expect at least a explanation before any other revert.
And secondly I'd recommend you to re-learn what Spamming is, it'll be much helpful in RC patrol and before calling someone else edit as spam. Thanks! AHatd (talk) 04:01, 13 July 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Blogs are not a reliable source, and we should avoid linking to commercial vendors, especially those with overtly promotional content. The link that you inserted ends with:

And if you haven’t already started calculating CTR, make sure to check out AccuRanker. It is the ultimate SERP rank tracker tool to help you start increasing your organic traffic today. Start your 14 days free trial – no credit card needed.

Those who go around adding these types of links as "references" are typically engaged in spamming.-KH-1 (talk) 06:42, 13 July 2022 (UTC)[reply]
Hi thanks for your response. You mentioned WP:RS I wasn't able to find anything related to unreliability of blogs mentioned in the guideline, except this Never use self-published books, zines, websites, webforums, blogs and tweets as a source for material about a living person..... And secondly avoiding inline citation to commercial vendors, doesn't mean/allow reverting someone's good faith edits with assumption of bad faith from their part. Also RS guide us to replace such links with more reliable sources, not reverting whole edit all together. Thirdly, as a RC patroller, I always try to check user contributions before calling their edits, as spam. Thanks! AHatd (talk) 09:16, 13 July 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Hello KH-1, do you think COI banner could be removed by now ? Let me precise that, while I have indeed helped to contribute to this page edition, several other editors without any relationship have contributed as well, making sure content was following Wikipedia ethic. Thank you ! Coddy25 (talk) 07:59, 3 August 2022 (UTC)[reply]

"Several other editors" - there has only been one other edit, a spelling correction from an IP.-KH-1 (talk) 05:04, 4 August 2022 (UTC)[reply]
Yes, on the English version, I was indeed the only one to help translate it. However, on the original french article, many different people have contributed. This is why I was wondering if it could be reviewed and COI banner removed, if everything is ok. Thank you Coddy25 (talk) 12:21, 4 October 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Hi, I've declined the A7 tag on this article, as I think releasing a track on social media and claiming it "went viral" is a possible claim of significance. Obviously it needs a verifiable claim of what that means to survive an AfD, or possibly a G11 tag, but Nigerian rap music is not really my area of expertise. causaLens[edit]

Hello there - I sent a comment to the Talk section re a recommended deletion, but I wondered it it might make sense to send it to you too?

I don't think the page should not be speedily deleted because: - I wasn't aware of a previously deleted page and all content entered in this page, as submitted, has been taken by me from the public domain, i.e. company website, official announcements, media articles - a selection of specific, clear references was submitted against individual points made in the page, a good deal of it from after April 2022 which is when apparently a previous page, written by someone else whom I don't know at all, was deleted - Issues of 'advertising' langauge and tone have been addressed by me to leave a straightforward and factual short article about this company Hydra2017 (talk) 14:05, 22 September 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Christian Horner[edit]

Hi, the updates I’ve added have been removed as you say they are “poorly referenced or controversial”. I’m. unsure how much you know about Christian Horner but information he provides is both poorly referenced and controversial. I felt the updates we balanced and accurate.

What do I need to do to get this information authorised on wiki?

Thanks

See WP:BLP for an overview. In short, you need to make sure that the content is supported by reliable sources and that it adheres to WP:NPOV.-KH-1 (talk) 03:13, 2 November 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Linda Ravenswood[edit]

hi there – – I was looking on the site for Linda Ravenswood, who’s been nominated for a speedy deletion. I was wondering where that stands, as I forgot to include that she has a radio show on KPFK FM 90.7 Los Angeles. It airs every Wednesday at 2 PM. A couple of years ago someone nominated the page for speedy deletion after it had been on Wikipedia for nine years. Someone said she didn’t have enough published material. But now she has a lot of books a radio show and a bunch of book prizes. it looks like because her name is Linda Ravenswood and that page had been deleted previously, there seems to be a flag coming up even though she should have a Wikipedia page now. thanks so much for lmk Jesuitsally (talk) 22:08, 13 February 2023 (UTC)[reply]

The relevant guideline here is WP:GNG. To demonstrate notability you'll have to show coverage (WP:SIGCOV) in reliable third party sources.-KH-1 (talk) 05:24, 14 February 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Unnecessary deletion[edit]

May i know what kind of promotional content have i added? since the content that is being added is non-biased and is just added to enhance and add the latest information in that sector. It is not related to any commercial or promotional benefits such as search engine rankings or what so ever. Please read through the content that is being added and improvised, its either interlinked to wikipedia itself or major companies that are actually present in that specific field, it is for general information rather then promotional values. Kindly correct if it feels inappropriate. Ojesvi Singh07 (talk) 09:29, 14 February 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Deletion tag on Tamal Hadiul[edit]

Sir @KH-1, this is the first time this has happened, All the pages I created earlier got accepted. But I am aware of the mentioned music producer. He was awarded as the best music producer of Bangladesh, having completed the soundtracks of popular drama series like Punorjonmo, Mohanagar.

I fixed it by removing the deadlinked references from the page. Since it has importance, I request you to keep this article sir. Olafrozen (talk) 10:07, 23 April 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Jack Rollen AfD Discussion[edit]

Sir @KH-1, I have addressed the issues(that led to the nomination of the page Jack Rollen for Afd and also some of the issues raised by @Willondon on the discussion page). I have removed Ref Bombs and added some reliable source. I therefore request you to check the revision out and see if your primary concern has been addressed and therefore lift the deletion tag from the page. If there is still an issue, You'll let me know. I'm going to let the AfD run its course.-KH-1 (talk) 05:36, 13 June 2023 (UTC)[reply]
So now What's all this about, were you just originally so determined(that no edit can solve) to have that page deleted. I've gone through your page and it's full of complaints from editors, I wonder what thorns are in your heart.
The issue you raised has been resolved and you still can't remove the tag!
I've learned one big lesson from @Willondon, "this is just Wikipedia"
So do whatever you want. Pro Art Editor (talk) 17:39, 13 June 2023 (UTC)[reply]
By the time you raised this point other users had already commented on the discussion. It was beyond the point at which KH-1 could unilaterally withdraw the nomination. Cabayi (talk) 09:19, 9 July 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Speedy deletion contested: Zerodha[edit]

Hello KH-1. I am just letting you know that I contested the speedy deletion of Zerodha, a page you tagged for speedy deletion, because of the following concern: Some of these sources date to after the initial deletion so it probably doesn't fall under the "substantially identical" clause of G4. Thank you. BangJan1999 17:44, 26 July 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Invitation[edit]

Hello KH-1, we need experienced volunteers.
  • New Page Patrol is currently struggling to keep up with the influx of new articles. We could use a few extra hands on deck if you think you can help.
  • Reviewing/patrolling a page doesn't take much time but it requires a good understanding of Wikipedia policies and guidelines; Wikipedia needs experienced users to perform this task and there are precious few with the appropriate skills. Even a couple reviews a day can make a huge difference.
  • Kindly read the tutorial before making your decision (if it looks daunting, don't worry, it basically boils down to checking CSD, notability, and title). If this looks like something that you can do, please consider joining us.
  • If you would like to join the project and help out, please see the granting conditions. You can apply for the user-right HERE.
  • If you have questions, please feel free to drop a message at the reviewer's discussion board.
  • Cheers, and hope to see you around.
