June 2011[edit]

Welcome to Wikipedia. Although everyone is welcome to contribute to the encyclopedia, one or more of the external links you added to the page Rosarito Beach do not comply with our guidelines for external links and have been removed. Wikipedia is not a collection of links; nor should it be used as a platform for advertising or promotion, and doing so is contrary to the goals of this project. Because Wikipedia uses nofollow tags, external links do not alter search engine rankings. If you feel the link should be added to the article, please discuss it on the article's talk page before reinserting it. Please take a look at the welcome page to learn more about contributing constructively to this encyclopedia. Thank you. Shriram (talk) 05:45, 12 June 2011 (UTC)[reply]

I read the guidelines and do not see how this link is any different than the current links supporting that page[edit]

Because I am new at this I am not sure if I am suppose to ad my comments to your page or mine. I have placed them in both areas and will hopefully understand how to respond to interactions with moderates better in the future.

Here are the current links that support the information and help with resources for this community page

External links[edit]

The link above is the link to the website I added which contains hundreds of informational pages on relocating to Rosarito and to Mexico. Yes it is a real estate website but some of the above links are retail sites as well. This website contains more useful information regarding Rosarito Mexico than most any other websites do about moving to and living in Rosarito beach for the English speaking world. I did not add this website for any type of SEO or Link building purpose it was meant as a source of information for the English speaking community looking into relocating to Rosarito or just wanting to have accurate information in English about Rosarito Mexico. I am curious to understand the reason for the removal of this link and not the other links. One of the links is a hotel and another is a spa. If such links are used to support this page than I believe the link I added is as or even more relevant. I believe this link and all of the above links should be left on the page for people to use that are referencing information about Rosarito Mexico. I have modified the written content in the link so it is not confused with an advertising link. please let me know if this would better meet the guidelines and would be allowed to be posted in the external link section.

The guidelines on external links are here. Yes, several of the links at the bottom of the Rosarito Beach article do not belong in a Wikipedia article, and I have removed them. -- John of Reading (talk) 21:10, 12 June 2011 (UTC)[reply]
