GAA player infoboxes[edit]

From your user page Learn how to do those bloody infoboxes for GAA players :-O What problems are you having maybe i can help (Gnevin 16:48, 30 November 2006 (UTC))[reply]

thanks - its the shirt colors - I know all the RGB stuff and I suppose if I sat down on the sandbox for half an hour I would work it out. Also do you think every GAA player should have a player infobox as in some (most) case the depth of information is not great until they actually produce an autobigraphy/biography.
Yes they all should have the either {{infobox GAA player}} or {{infobox GAA dualplayer}}. As for lack of infomation i agree certain infomation such as scores apps are hard to come by but even without this the infobox allows unfamiliar person a quick overview of the player .
As for the shirt colour it is very hit and miss but Web colours can be useful (Gnevin 17:04, 30 November 2006 (UTC))[reply]
ps Template_talk:Infobox_GAA_player and Template_talk:Infobox_GAA_dualplayer both give an overview of usage (Gnevin 17:06, 30 November 2006 (UTC))[reply]
Thanks - I have given Larry Tompkins the treatment.... BustOut 21:18, 30 November 2006 (UTC) Will plug away with a many GAA players as I can possibly sufficient information on.[reply]

Billy Morgan[edit]

Hi. I'm glad that you liked the changes I made to the Billy Morgan article. Been meaning to get around to it for a while. The reason you can't see the history section is because I redirected the whole article from Billy Morgan (footballer) to Billy Morgan (Gaelic footballer). There's already an article about another Billy Morgan who was a footballer in England in the early 1900s I think. CorkMan 11:33, 28 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Speedy delete[edit]

A tag has been placed on Canon Michael O'Brien, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done for the following reason:

Useless article with no encyclopedic content, bad spelling and grammar.

Under the criteria for speedy deletion, articles that do not meet very basic Wikipedia criteria may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as an appropriate article, and if you can indicate why the subject of this article is appropriate, you may contest the tagging. To do this, add {{hangon}} on the top of the page and leave a note on the article's talk page explaining your position. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the article that would confirm its subject's notability under the guidelines.

For guidelines on specific types of articles, you may want to check out our criteria for biographies, for web sites, for bands, or for companies. Feel free to leave a note on my talk page if you have any questions about this. Dreamy \*/!$! 14:26, 17 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Speedy[edit]

Hi. When you tag articles for speedy deletion, please do not remove the content or move it to the talk page. The content should be left in place. Cheers TigerShark 23:17, 7 September 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Hi - I have done some work on Dundee and Arbroath Railway over the past few days and thought that you (I spotted your name associated with this type of work) might be interested in looking and doing some edits on it. --BustOut 14:41, 10 September 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Had a quick look this evening, this is a great start. I have applied the layout I have used for others. The main item that will need adding is the route map template. I will think about this over the next few days. OTher bits will have to wait until I return from a business trip and can look at my reference books. --Stewart (talk) 19:58, 10 September 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Kevin Kimberlin Notability[edit]

This is the first post I have created and it has been updated to be better aligned with wiki notability standards. Can you please advise if the standards have been met in your eyes?

--Seyoda 18:15, 17 September 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Hi - Please don't remove the notability tag just yet for the following reasons. I have put it back but also a stub tag (not sure if that is OK but it covers both bases). The tag isn't bad as such it just looks for help. I have also made what I think are some helpful edits to start you along your way.
  • You should at least add some external links to validate the topic you have written.
  • As you were the original author you could be Kevin Kimberlin (grin) so it is best to leave the tag there so other Wikipedians can help out and perhaps enhance the article
  • Have a look at other articles on people to get some ideas as to what a good

Disputed fair use rationale for Image:Cliff Richard Always Guaranteed.jpg[edit]

Thanks for uploading Image:Cliff Richard Always Guaranteed.jpg. However, there is a concern that the rationale you have provided for using this image under "fair use" may be invalid. Please read the instructions at Wikipedia:Non-free content carefully, then go to the image description page and clarify why you think the image qualifies for fair use. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to ensure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If it is determined that the image does not qualify under fair use, it will be deleted within a couple of days according to our criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thank you.BetacommandBot 04:50, 27 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Proposed deletion of Roger Charlton[edit]

A proposed deletion template has been added to the article Roger Charlton, suggesting that it be deleted according to the proposed deletion process. All contributions are appreciated, but this article may not satisfy Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion, and the deletion notice should explain why (see also "What Wikipedia is not" and Wikipedia's deletion policy). You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{dated prod}} notice, but please explain why you disagree with the proposed deletion in your edit summary or on its talk page.

Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised because even though removing the deletion notice will prevent deletion through the proposed deletion process, the article may still be deleted if it matches any of the speedy deletion criteria or it can be sent to Articles for Deletion, where it may be deleted if consensus to delete is reached. Do you want to opt out of receiving this notice? -- Andrew Mill (talk) 12:37, 8 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Speedy deletion nomination of Maurizio Valtieri[edit]

Hello, Kdaly100. Thanks for keeping an eye out on article quality. I'm dropping you a note to let you know that I have removed the speedy deletion template that you placed on Maurizio Valtieri because the tag does not fit the speedy deletion criteria. While articles in other languages may be subject to speedy deletion if they are copies of articles from the Wiki in that foreign language (see WP:CSD#A2), otherwise they are tagged for translation by placing {{notenglish}} on them and following the template's instructions to list them at Wikipedia:Pages needing translation into English. The volunteers there help us to determine if the contents meet guidelines.

As a general note, I noticed that when you placed the deletion tag on this article and on the now deleted Tyler McGaughey, you did not warn the article's creators. The deletion templates expand on the pages to include a section to be pasted on the creator's page. This lets the creator know why his or her article has been deleted and may help them to avoid creating inappropriate pages in the future. Please take an extra minute or two when templating pages for deletion to copy that notice onto the creator page. Thank you, and thanks again for keeping an eye out on article quality. If you'd like to talk about this, feel free to contact me at my page. --Moonriddengirl (talk) 13:27, 16 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Notability of Lights.Action!(band)[edit]

A tag has been placed on Lights.Action!(band) requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done because the article appears to be about a real person, organization (band, club, company, etc.), or web content, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is notable: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, articles that do not indicate the subject's importance or significance may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable. If this is the first page that you have created, then you should read the guide to writing your first article.

If you think that you can assert the notability of the subject, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}} to the top of the page (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on the article's talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the article meets the criterion it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the article that would confirm the subject's notability under Wikipedia guidelines.

For guidelines on specific types of articles, you may want to check out our criteria for biographies, for web sites, for bands, or for companies. Feel free to leave a note on my talk page if you have any questions about this. JohnCD (talk) 13:34, 16 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Yup, saw it, but thanks for the heads up :). Also, your userpage says you don't have anything particular to do at the moment; may I suggest missing animal pages? I've done maybe 20 of the things, without actually knowing anything about the animals involved. There's a link on my "notes" page to the standard taxonomy textbook, which the creators were kind enough to upload to the interweb. There's info on every mammal discovered pre-2005 at the moment; I find it's a good way to contribute helpfully and occupy time :). Ironholds 11:14, 10 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Hi there. In case you didn't know, when you add content to talk pages and Wikipedia pages that have open discussion, you should sign your posts by typing four tildes ( ~~~~ ) at the end of your comment. If you can't type the tilde character, you should click on the signature button located above the edit window. This will automatically insert a signature with your name and the time you posted the comment. This information is useful because other editors will be able to tell who said what, and when. Help[edit]

Hello, I am new to the wikipedia community and would like to make an article about a dentist I respect greatly. Initially, I just copied and pasted information from his website because it seemed like the easiest most sensible thing to do. However, everytime I put something (and delete more and more for that matter) my page keeps getting deleted. What can I do so these people will stop deleting my page and I can still write a BIO about this wonderful man. Thank youi for your time and consideration.

Unreferenced BLPs[edit]

Hello Kdaly100! Thank you for your contributions. I am a bot alerting you that 3 of the articles that you created are tagged as Unreferenced Biographies of Living Persons. The biographies of living persons policy requires that all personal or potentially controversial information be sourced. In addition, to ensure verifiability, all biographies should be based on reliable sources. if you were to bring these articles up to standards, it would greatly help us with the current 937 article backlog. Once the articles are adequately referenced, please remove the {{unreferencedBLP}} tag. Here is the list:

  1. Niall Cahalane - Find sources: Google (books · news · scholar · free images · WP refs· FENS · JSTOR · TWL
  2. John Buffalo Mailer - Find sources: Google (books · news · scholar · free images · WP refs· FENS · JSTOR · TWL

The article Brendan Daly (footballer) has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

Unsourced and completely orphaned BLP. After a quick search, it is unclear if he ever even played competitively for Cork, and in any case the article does not come close to an assertion of general notability.

While all contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, content or articles may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{dated prod}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Removing {{dated prod}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. The speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. --WFC-- 20:38, 30 August 2010 (UTC)[reply]

September 2015[edit]

Information icon Hello Kdaly100. Thanks for patrolling new pages – it's a very important task! I'm just letting you know, however, that you shouldn't tag pages as lacking context (CSD A1), content (CSD A3),or significance (CSD A7) moments after they are created, as you did at Pontianak Harum Sundal Malam II. It's best to wait at least 10–15 minutes for more content to be added if the page is very short, and the articles should not be marked as patrolled. Tagging such pages in a very short space of time may drive away well-meaning contributors, which is not good for Wikipedia. Attack pages (G10), blatant nonsense (G1), copyright violations (G12) and pure vandalism/blatant hoaxes (G3) should of course be tagged and deleted immediately. Thanks. --Non-Dropframe talk 15:23, 17 September 2015 (UTC)[reply]

New deal for page patrollers[edit]

Hi Kdaly100,

In order to better control the quality of new pages, keep out the spam, and welcome the genuine newbies, the current system we introduced in 2011 is being updated and improved. The documentation and tutorials have also been revised and given a facelift. Most importantly a new user group New Page Reviewer has been created.

Under the new rule, you may find that you are temporarily unable to mark new pages as reviewed. However, this is nothing to worry about - most current experienced patrollers are being accorded the the new right without the need to apply, and if you have significant previous experience of patrolling new pages, we strongly encourage you to apply for the new right as soon as possible - we need all the help we can get, and we are now providing a dynamic, supportive environment for your work.

Find out more about this exiting new user right now at New Page Reviewers and be sure to read the new tutorial before applying. MediaWiki message delivery (talk) 04:28, 13 November 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Notice

The article Rachid El Morabity has been proposed for deletion because it appears to have no references. Under Wikipedia policy, this biography of a living person will be deleted after seven days unless it has at least one reference to a reliable source that directly supports material in the article.

If you created the article, please don't be offended. Instead, consider improving the article. For help on inserting references, see Referencing for beginners, or ask at the help desk. Once you have provided at least one reliable source, you may remove the {{prod blp/dated}} tag. Please do not remove the tag unless the article is sourced. If you cannot provide such a source within seven days, the article may be deleted, but you can request that it be undeleted when you are ready to add one. Khalil Everage moved to draftspace[edit]

An article you recently created, Khalil Everage, does not have enough sources and citations as written to remain published. It needs more citations from reliable, independent sources. (?) Information that can't be referenced should be removed (verifiability is of central importance on Wikipedia). I've moved your draft to draftspace (with a prefix of "Draft:" before the article title) where you can incubate the article with minimal disruption. When you feel the article meets Wikipedia's general notability guideline and thus is ready for mainspace, please click on the "Submit your draft for review!" button at the top of the page. Lapablo (talk) 11:57, 25 June 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Hi there, I'm HasteurBot. I just wanted to let you know that Draft:Khalil Everage, a page you created, has not been edited in 5 months. The Articles for Creation space is not an indefinite storage location for content that is not appropriate for articlespace.

If your submission is not edited soon, it could be nominated for deletion. If you would like to attempt to save it, you will need to improve it.

You may request Userfication of the content if it meets requirements.

If the deletion has already occured, instructions on how you may be able to retrieve it are available at WP:REFUND/G13.

Thank you for your attention. HasteurBot (talk) 01:39, 26 November 2019 (UTC)[reply]

If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on IntSights requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about a company, corporation or organization that does not credibly indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such articles may be deleted at any time. Please read more about what is generally accepted as notable.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the deleting administrator. DGG ( talk ) 20:47, 7 May 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Pau Capell moved to draftspace[edit]

An article you recently created, Pau Capell, is not suitable as written to remain published. It needs more in-depth coverage about the subject itself, with citations from reliable, independent sources in order to show it meets WP:GNG. It should have at least three, to be safe. And please remember that interviews, as primary sources, do not count towards GNG.(?) Information that can't be referenced should be removed (verifiability is of central importance on Wikipedia). I've moved your draft to draftspace (with a prefix of "Draft:" before the article title) where you can incubate the article with minimal disruption. When you feel the article meets Wikipedia's general notability guideline and thus is ready for mainspace, please click on the "Submit your draft for review!" button at the top of the page.Onel5969 TT me 10:26, 14 March 2023 (UTC)[reply]
