Hi Keith, can you assess this one please? I tried to save it as just Moulton Chapel, but WP wouldn't let me as the village is noted in Moulton, Lincolnshire. Moulton Chapel has enough for a separate article I think. As there isn't another of the same name, perhaps losing the Lincolnshire with a move might be appropriate, but I don't seem to be able to do it - I'll leave it for your judgement. Cheers. Acabashi (talk) 19:14, 3 June 2012 (UTC)

I have accessed as start-class. I have also moved over the redirect. Keith D (talk) 19:44, 9 June 2012 (UTC)
Many thanks Keith. Acabashi (talk) 01:45, 11 June 2012 (UTC)

RAF Acaster Malbis

Evening Keith

Can you help me with the notability of RAF Acaster Malbis as some ip editor has randomly added a A7 speedy on it and i can't think of what to write to contest it.

Thanks Gavbadger (talk) 16:31, 11 June 2012 (UTC)

Hi, I have removed the speedy as A7 is not really applicable to places more to people/bands etc. The IP also has not given any reason for the addition of the tag. I do not have anything to hand to help with improving article. Keith D (talk) 16:39, 11 June 2012 (UTC)
Thank you, the help was more to do with notability guidelines and the tag itself as i rarely see them dealing with RAF articles so therefore i don't understand them that much and the article is fine as i have contacted previous editors earlier this afternoon to get more references. Thanks again Gavbadger (talk)

Hi Keith, can you assess this one for me please, for Lincolnshire and any other project you think applies ? Many thanks. Acabashi (talk) 18:05, 11 June 2012 (UTC)

OK set to start-class, unsure on what is happening on importance for those projects. Keith D (talk) 18:18, 11 June 2012 (UTC)
Many thanks Keith. Acabashi (talk) 18:37, 11 June 2012 (UTC)

I have pondered (for about the past year) if he should be added as the most notable inhabitant of Strichen. Any views? (Goodness me, spooky or what). Thanks. Martinevans123 (talk) 22:50, 11 June 2012 (UTC)

I would think that it would be OK to add him to that article. I was wondering where Fraserburgh fits in in the Nilsen article as Strichen does not mention it and Fraserburgh does not mention Strichen. Keith D (talk) 23:07, 11 June 2012 (UTC)
Apparently Strichen ".. sits on the A981, connecting it to New Deer to the southwest and Fraserburgh to the north-northeast..." But it's hardly in Fraserburgh - in fact, it's eight miles away. Martinevans123 (talk) 23:18, 11 June 2012 (UTC)

Hi Keith - here's a new one. Again, I don't want to assess my own articles so would be grateful if you could do it. Many thanks. Acabashi (talk) 00:15, 12 June 2012 (UTC)

OK - given start-class. Keith D (talk) 00:22, 12 June 2012 (UTC)
Thanks Keith. Acabashi (talk) 10:29, 12 June 2012 (UTC)

Your "dab" edits

Hello. Noticed you piping a lot of redirects from Hull City to Hull City A.F.C., with the edit summary "dab". As the pages stand at the moment, Hull City isn't a disambiguation page, so at first glance, there's no apparent need to fix a working redirect, per WP:NOTBROKEN. Is the Hull City page about to be a made a dab page? if it is, I'll try and remember to pipe it. cheers, Struway2 (talk) 07:19, 15 June 2012 (UTC)

No the page is not about to be move - I was just tidying up the links to make a direct connection rather than going via the redirect. Keith D (talk) 10:32, 15 June 2012 (UTC)

A tag has been placed on File:IMG 2433.JPG, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done for the following reason:

Under the criteria for speedy deletion, articles that do not meet basic Wikipedia criteria may be deleted at any time.

If you think that the page was nominated in error, contest the nomination by clicking on the button labelled "Click here to contest this speedy deletion" in the speedy deletion tag. Here's another one Keith - be grateful if you can assess. Many thanks. Acabashi (talk) 18:07, 18 June 2012 (UTC)

OK. Keith D (talk) 19:25, 18 June 2012 (UTC)
Thanks Keith. Acabashi (talk) 22:54, 18 June 2012 (UTC)

Diamond Jubilee of Elizabeth II

Thanks for the day/date fix. I've been using Provelt for a while, now, instead of the usual citation template. I just realized that Provelt must be doing all the dates the wrong, then. Should we tell someone? And if so, who? thanks, Shawn in Montreal (talk) 00:48, 22 June 2012 (UTC)

Hi, it is not a tool I have used but looks like User talk:ProveIt GT is the talk page for the tool. I would drop a note there and see what response you get. Keith D (talk) 00:58, 22 June 2012 (UTC)
Done, thanks. Shawn in Montreal (talk) 01:09, 22 June 2012 (UTC)

1D good article

I have nominated The One Direction main article for good article status do you think i can pass? AdabowtheSecond (talk) 01:43, 24 June 2012 (UTC)

That is what twigged me to look at it as I was wondering why it had popped up on the WP:YORKS list. I think it is up to GA standard though a couple of things for further progress would be the dates in the references are a mixture of day first and ISO format and could do with standardising. In the 5 sections on the band members the images need to be looked at, may be switch sides for them as 2nd & 3rd image are facing out of page rather than into page. Keith D (talk) 08:50, 24 June 2012 (UTC)
Thanks for re AdabowtheSecond (talk) 14:07, 24 June 2012 (UTC)

the One Direction article passed GA, thanks for your occasional edits to the article. AdabowtheSecond (talk) 17:32, 5 July 2012 (UTC)

Good news thanks for all the hard work. Looks like you needed to do all of the reference reformatting which is not usual for GA level but prepares it for any FA submission. Keith D (talk) 17:54, 5 July 2012 (UTC)
Do you think the article is ready for featured article status in its current state AdabowtheSecond (talk) 19:46, 5 July 2012 (UTC)
I would suggest that you go for a peer review before an FA submission as that tends to pick up any obvious faults that another set of eyes may find. FAs tend to be a lot of work as there is so many different views on things and can take a long time. Having seen the work going on at Paul McCartney to get that fixed-up ready for FA the peer review is an obvious first step. Keith D (talk) 20:48, 5 July 2012 (UTC).
I think I'm going to promote some other articles before going further with the main article, Thanks for the advice AdabowtheSecond (talk) 21:01, 5 July 2012 (UTC)

Middleton, Leeds

Thanks for skimming through it, I didn't even nominate it. You can be relied on to find my omissions and errors. I know what I am supposed to have written, I just can't see them so, thanks again. J3Mrs (talk) 08:35, 26 June 2012 (UTC)

No problem and thanks for all the hard work on the article. The one who nominated it has not done any edits to the article since nominating! Keith D (talk) 11:27, 26 June 2012 (UTC)
Or for over a year before that.J3Mrs (talk) 11:30, 26 June 2012 (UTC)

Goldeneye

A bot mentions that I added a link to Goldeneye in Handsworth that was to a disambig page. It looks to me that the film needs a move to Goldeneye (film) but I'm loathe to do it as many pages might be linked - can you offer any help here. Thanks. Acabashi (talk) 13:33, 28 June 2012 (UTC)

Will have a look later just going out at the moment. Hopefully the connection will be better as keeps dropping out every couple of minutes and after every edit I need to reconnect. Keith D (talk) 13:39, 28 June 2012 (UTC)
I fixed the dab but it does look like it needs to be changed some how as there is only a capitalisation difference between the 2 articles. The dab page was moved to the none dab version earlier in March. May be start a discussion on one of the talk pages about a move to see what others think about it. Keith D (talk) 18:25, 28 June 2012 (UTC)
Good idea - I see you fixed my stupid non-cap mistake - thanks. Acabashi (talk) 18:59, 28 June 2012 (UTC)

Barlby page

Hi Keith, thanks for adding the proper reference templates on the Barlby page. I have now filled those in but the page has now gone into a weird format. I don't know if it was my edits, as a couple of other people appeared to be doing some edits at the same time, but whoever it was, I don't know how to make the page display properly again. Hope you can fix it. Archstanton (talk) 18:56, 28 June 2012 (UTC)

Ah, never mind, it appears to be fixed now. Archstanton (talk) 18:57, 28 June 2012 (UTC)
Cannot see any problem with page - looks like you got the references formatted OK. Keith D (talk) 19:01, 28 June 2012 (UTC)

Gloucestershire related request

Hi Keith D

Can you delete the following categories for me as i forgot to add the WikiProject bit at the beginning

  • Category:Gloucestershire articles by importance
  • Category:Gloucestershire articles by quality

Thanks

Gavbadger (talk) 23:06, 1 July 2012 (UTC)

OK - done. Keith D (talk) 04:49, 2 July 2012 (UTC)

Ingleby Barwick is not built on the perimeter of RAF Thornaby. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 86.4.91.211 (talk) 12:03, 7 July 2012 (UTC)

I reverted the edits as it removed a link from "civil parish" for no apparent reason. Keith D (talk) 12:10, 7 July 2012 (UTC)

Cyclopedia Britannica

Can you give any info on this site please: [1] ? It would be useful to confirm if it's a WP mirror. It's pages appear word for word WP but usually from old versions of pages listed here: [2]. Thanks. Acabashi (talk) 16:36, 8 July 2012 (UTC)

Sorry I have not seen it but it looks like a copy of Wikipedia articles from early 2009. The latest changes appear blank and the about and disclaimers pages give nothing. Keith D (talk) 16:58, 8 July 2012 (UTC)

Hi Keith, Could you have a look at this: I've now reverted, twice, additions of a huge amount of promotional/over-detailed stuff added by USer:Jharvey12, who appears likely to be a member of staff (or otherwise is copying and pasting from the college website, as "we" and "our" crop up frequently). I've left messages on their talk page, but they replaced the content after my first message. I don't want to get to the WP:3RR stage if they continue, so as a Yorkshire admin I wondered if you could keep an eye on it. One more replacement of the content and I'm inclined to go straight to WP:ANI. PamD 13:51, 11 July 2012 (UTC)

Thanks for the note will try to keep an eye on it. It looks like an IP added and was reverted since your last revert. May be they will be back later. Keith D (talk) 17:06, 11 July 2012 (UTC)

Boston population

I changed the population of boston after viewing the new census data for 2011, why have the changes been undone? 35,000 is not the correct population of Boston for 2001 anyway. Only 4 months ago the population was 58,000, how has this been allowed through when my correct information has not? — Preceding unsigned comment added by 86.137.179.137 (talk) 22:34, 16 July 2012 (UTC)

I reverted your changes and indicated the reason in the edit summary. You failed to change the reference for the data and this was still giving the old figures. When you change information you have to provide the source for the new figures by use of the inline cite facility. If the figures were changed previously then they should also have been reverted but someone did not spot that change. Keith D (talk) 22:44, 16 July 2012 (UTC)

Can you shift the little map inside the big one on this one please ? - I don't know how to do it - I will when I've seen what you do. Thanks. Acabashi (talk) 18:47, 19 July 2012 (UTC)

Not something I can do. Suggest asking Nilfanion who did the mapping for the counties. Keith D (talk)

Hi I posted this on the Amy talk page but its very quiet on that page this seems to be a more active one and therefore a better one to get your ideas heard. My suggestion is that we put in stuff about Amy Winehouse's charity work on her page under the personal life section. This is relevant information more relevant I feel than a lot of other stuff there. She donated millions to charity and supported at least over 40 major charities that I know of and that was one of the many reasons that her dad set up the Amy Winehouse foundation was because she had done so much for charity during her life. Pop world even named her "the most charitable act" You can find lots of articles about her charity work on line http://nut.bz/2u8a4wgw/, its in the silent philanthropy section obviously LOL rest of the article is unimportant for this discussion. There's also an article called Amy Winehouse's charity events and causes you can find which supports this too I would add the link but I am still a bit rusty on posting links and you can find it easy, there is also another one that is called quiet generosity and another called AWF a continuation of Amy Winehouse's life's work. I would of course include this information about her charity on the article myself but I am a small fish and the article is locked because of vandals so it will need someone higher up like you to add it in thanks. --Zolfianyarvelling (talk) 19:05, 19 July 2012 (UTC)

Sounds like it could be useful to add something to the article. You should be able to edit the article in a couple of days time once your account becomes auto confirmed. In the meantime can I suggest that you draft up the section that you want to add in your own user space User:Zolfianyarvelling/sandbox then it can be transferred in to the article when it is ready. You can edit it and develop it without people reverting out because of concerns over no referencing, wrong formatting etc. Keith D (talk) 21:40, 19 July 2012 (UTC)

Thank you so much I will definitely get on editing it in the sandbox, My account has been around for a while and I still don't have permission but hopefully that will change soon. --Zolfianyarvelling (talk) 08:49, 20 July 2012 (UTC)

You should be autocinfirmed after making 10 edits and waiting 4 days since account creation which looks like it should have happened. May be there are some other rules that are applying. Keith D (talk) 09:29, 20 July 2012 (UTC)
