Thank you for reverting vandalism on my userpage. Oore (talk) 03:16, 29 April 2008 (UTC)

You've been doing this for too long.

Thank you for your contribution to my talk page. Sadly I only glanced over it because of the bad case of Ctrl+C and Ctrl+V. If you're going to be 'helpful' like that, at least you could make it less obvious that you don't give a damn - because if you don't, why would I. That just concerns form though, and substance is a more serious issue. As I understand my changes were reverted on the sole reason that I did not fill in the summary field. Contrary to what you might believe, it is not necessary to do so. To quote from the summary field entry: "It is good practice". I understand the problem of vandalism at such open project as Wikipedia but not every IP out there is one. I'd assume you could at least see the changes made before reverting them. 81.15.202.133 (talk) 16:06, 1 May 2008 (UTC)

New Project

Myself and several other editors have been compiling a list of very active editors who would likely be available to help new editors in the event they have questions or concerns. As the list grew and the table became more detailed, it was determined that the best way to complete the table was to ask each potential candidate to fill in their own information, if they so desire. This list is sorted geographically in order to provide a better estimate as to whether the listed editor is likely to be active.

If you consider yourself a very active Wikipedian who is willing to help newcomers, please either complete your information in the table or add your entry. If you do not want to be on the list, either remove your name or just disregard this message and your entry will be removed within 48 hours. The table can be found at User:Useight/Highly Active, as it has yet to have been moved into the Wikipedia namespace. Thank you for your help. Useight (talk) 17:39, 3 May 2008 (UTC)

Warnings

As a general rule I don't leave the "warning" tag on talk pages, largely because when dealing with an IP it is a moot point. Major vandals I list as IPVandals in the appropriate location. For the amount of time it would take me to add a "test" or "warning" tag to an IP login the slim chance of it even being viewed is not worth it in my eyes. --Human.v2.0 (talk) 20:34, 7 May 2008 (UTC)

Agreed. I'll try to make a point of adding the tags more when applicable. --Human.v2.0 (talk) 20:39, 7 May 2008 (UTC)

Facts about El Naschie

Dear Mr. Kukini The user Nasr2000 changed the title of the article Naschie in to m.naschie and he makes it redirected from another title called Osa2000. This happened because the page has been appeared for deletion discussion. Cold you please warn this user about this? My Best Regards —Preceding unsigned comment added by Faragali (talkcontribs) 12:37, 11 May 2008 (UTC)

Dear Kukini

We need help. We have repeatedly asked that the intrusion and slandering to Prof. El Naschie's article be stopped and nothing has been done. There is a vehment, malicious attack on the person of Prof. El Naschie by enemies. We have complained before and nothing was done. There is a well organized and calculated attack on the credentials of Prof.El Naschie who is a well known engineer and scientist and his contributions are very well known in both engineering and physics. There are some jealous people who are green with envy and who want to destroy him and hence they are lashing out false statements about his contributions and underminig his publications. I am aware that you operate on a volunteer basis, hence the personnel have neither time nor the resources to verify all the false information that people with pseudo names and pseudo emails are making against him. How can a Ph.D. student claim that Prof. El Naschie is publishing in a not very wellknown journal. He is the editor-in-chief of a very famous journal which he founded and has a high impact factor in its field. Elsevier is the largest and most famous scientific publisher in the field. How can he claim that Prof. El Naschie is quoting himself hence he ranks high on Spires, Stanford University Library. It is all malicious, vindictive and must be stopped at once. Slanderers and hackers should not use wikipedia as a venue to attack others. Wikipedia's credibiity and reputation are at stake.

Due to the above, we request that you close Prof. El Naschie's wikipedia site completely.

Thank you in advance for all your help. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Nasr2000 (talkcontribs) 19:01, 11 May 2008 (UTC)

Disputes

Kukini, on the talk page of the conversion therapy article I recently asked you why you thought that my argument for limiting the use of the term gay (which basically was that 'Using the word 'gay' rather than 'homosexual' is a way of siding with homosexuals who are happy being homosexual against those who are not') was not convincing. I apologize if I expressed myself impolitely, but I think the question was a reasonable one and deserves an answer. Also, I would like to ask whether you intend to block me again the next time you find me engaged in an edit war, and why you seemed to be singling me out for some sort of special treatment in this regard. SilkyShark editing stefan user pages

opps logged in with wrong user, Im having SUL issues and de:user:Stefan renamed his user [:de:user:St-fl]] (sysop 9000+ edits) 1 week before SUL was turned on for sysops and is now asking me to give up my account so that he can get the global, I have created a golbal account user:SilkyShark just to be able to talk on de without ip edits and managed to be logged in as that user on en when doing updates to the story. Please do not revert again if I continue to do misstaks like that. Also do you have any idea on how a issue like this could be resolved. I'm still talking to him and trying to get him to give up his account but I doubt that he will. and accourding to the few suggested polices I have seen I will loose my account, but to chnge a 9k+ edit account to a different name and claim that account 1 week before SUL was turned on for sysop is not really in the rule book and is a bit unfair I think. any suggestion on what I should do?? --Stefan talk 01:28, 1 June 2008 (UTC)

Appeasement

Have you even looked at the trash being used as "sources"? Or is the boilerplate message on my talk page meant to troll? Just curious. Thanks. 129.71.73.243 (talk) —Preceding comment was added at 16:35, 1 June 2008 (UTC)

Why are you referring to the matter as "blanking" as if it is vandalism? I'm afraid your comments betray simple ignorance of the matter. Carroll Quigley is a conspiratorialist author who is not credible to many people, other than those who believe in the "Anglo-American elite" conspiracy to establishment world government--which is why Quigley is popular in Lyndon LaRouche circles (which attack Wikipedia articles frequently). The other sources are from Stalinist hacks, such as Ludo Martens, the Belgian Stalinist who made a last ditch effort to rehabilitate Uncle Joe's reputation in the 1990s with the very book that is being referenced to. One of them is a Soviet publication. You are affecting to allow this article to be citing the Soviet Union. Furthermore, the "sources" are being used to back up a small minority view stated in the most tendentious and generalized way possible as fact, leaving the reader to go on a goose chase through whole books to ostensibly see support for what they just read. I'm not aware of a Wikipedia policy which states that trash thrown onto an article should be kept for the fact that somebody threw it there.
For God's sake, people recognized this in the talk already. Since I've spent a comparatively inordinate amount of minutes (about ten) on something that would be self-evident to most people, I'll reprint this comment on the talk. But if you think I'm going to sit and have tea conversations with an anonymous Stalinist on reprinting propaganda to an ostensibly neutral encyclopedia, you are wrong. 129.71.73.243 (talk) 19:25, 1 June 2008 (UTC)
Despite the previous intervention, I can not thank you enough for your kind understanding. In my experience(s) as an anonymous casual editor, it is not often that administrators take kindly to informed, assertive anonymous editors who are not evidently malicious and insane, and are attempting to slightly improve this online encyclopedia against the efforts of those who should be ascribed those categories. Thanks for not taking my criticism personally. 129.71.73.243 (talk) —Preceding comment was added at 06:41, 2 June 2008 (UTC)

List of Nontheists deletions

You just deleted most of the "List of nontheists" articles that were supposed to remain as ridirects as per the deletion discussion -- the point was to have the article history available for a merge to List of Atheists. It looks like someone replaced the original redirect with just the AfD notice, which caused them to be marked for speedy deletion. I noticed that, and it looks like I managed to salvage the first two before they were deleted, but you appear to have deleted the rest (along with, for some reason, List of atheists). Could you restore these articles as redirects so that they can be merged? Thanks. Klausness (talk) 16:40, 3 June 2008 (UTC)

Whew...what a mess I made. So sorry about that...I think it is all back. Best, --Kukini háblame aquí 16:51, 3 June 2008 (UTC)
Thanks for restoring them so quickly. Klausness (talk) 16:53, 3 June 2008 (UTC)
Well, hmmm, it looks like another editor claims to have already done the merge. So that editor marked them for deletion, and then someone else noticed that the articles had nothing but a prod and so marked them for speedy deletion.... Not sure what the best way to proceed is. It'd probably be good to leave them around for a few more days so that other editors can check the first editor's work (especially since the editor claiming that the merge is done is the one who nominated the articles for deletion in the first place). Should we put a regular prod under the redirect (so the page still redirects)? Should the pages go to WP:Redirects for discussion so that they can be deleted in a few days? I guess whatever you think makes the most sense (or perhaps what another admin thinks is best, since I may have complicated your life enough here). Klausness (talk) 17:22, 3 June 2008 (UTC)

Edit warring across multiple articles

Kukini, an editor called Whistling42 has been going through numerous different articles and changing "reparative therapy" to "conversion therapy." In some cases, such as the article about Exodus International, this involves misrepresentation of the sources that the articles are based upon, which refer to reparative therapy, not conversion therapy. I changed the article so that Exodus were quoted directly, in the hope of ending this dispute, but Whistling42 removed the quote and reintroduced the misleading reference to "conversion therapy." Several of these articles have already been changed back and forth several times, and there is no end in sight. Please intervene and do something to stop the spreading chaos. Skoojal (talk) 23:20, 27 June 2008 (UTC)

Thanks for the contact, but to me, this whole thing smacks too much of a battle of POV. Also, from what I have seen, you have been changing conversion therapy to reparative therapy. --Kukini háblame aquí 23:39, 27 June 2008 (UTC)
This isn't mainly about POV. It's about using sources properly. How, if a source talks about "reparative therapy" and does not use the expression "conversion therapy", is it appropriate to use this source to say that an organization favours "conversion therapy"? A direct quote is a perfectly sensible way to settle disputes of this sort, and Knulclunk agreed with me about this, but Whistling42 nonetheless insisted on changing the article back. Skoojal (talk) 23:55, 27 June 2008 (UTC)

Hi, Kukini, I saw you reverted User:Logitech95's POV blanking. Can you look at his/her contribution because the account seems to push his Japanese POV without no source, or altering a death toll unlike cited information or just want to stir up Japan-Korea related article. I guess 128.120.161.137 (talk · contribs) is also the editor's IP address, given that almost similar POV and timing. I think this edit is made in bad faith. The article has a history for Japanese anon's vandalism last February when a big fire incident occurred. The editor made such edit right after receiving warnings by me for his blanking. On Korea under Japanese rule (edit | talk | history | protect | delete | links | watch | logs | views), he/she blanked info regarding Japanese war crimes and inserted very POV info with no source as well to look Koreans. The account was created the last month, so I think the anon needs to get some suitable warning from admins. Thanks. --Caspian blue (talk) 04:44, 7 July 2008 (UTC)

Shoujo edit

Hi. I'm new to Wikipedia editing (just started today!), but not to shoujo manga. About your edit today, could I suggest some minor alterations? You wrote:

"In the early 50s, shoujo manga was created by beginning male mangaka, who would write shoujo for a time but then write shonen as their career became solid."

I'm afraid this could be misunderstood as meaning that male mangaka invented shoujo manga in the 50s. "beginning" as an adjective might also be confusing for some. (I had to reread it myself to figure out what you meant.) How about something like this?

"Throughout the 1950s, the vast majority of shōjo manga were made by younger male manga artists, who would work in the genre until they had established themselves and then, generally, move over to shōnen manga."

Sound better?

I am actually hoping to rewrite the whole history section, because as it stands it is a confusing series of disconnected and contradictory sentences. I also plan to add plenty of citations.

Just thought I should consult before going ahead and changing something you just contributed.

Cheers
