Help please

{{helpme}} Can anyone tell me actually how to put my name on the Wiki Project Harry Potter list? It's a bit confusing. If anyone can help I would be very grateful. And can anyone give me any tips about how I can tidy up my user page? Thanks! Ladywitchthought (talk) 04:13, 30 March 2008 (UTC)
P.S. You know how it says type {{helpme}} and someone will come by? How does that work?

Hello! To answer your first question, it is quite confusing, but here's what you need to do:
  1. Click here
  2. Scroll all the way to the bottom of the edit box.
  3. Add this code just above the |}, supplying your own responses where indicated:
|-
|{{User|Ladywitchthought}}
| What do you intend to do in the project?
| What House do you want to be in?
  1. Save the page.
As for your second question, that's easy. When you add {{helpme}} to your talk page, it gets tossed in Category:Wikipedians looking for help, which users like me check regularly. The reason I came so quickly is because there is a bot in the irc channel #wikipedia-en-help that reported your need for assistance.
Anyway, feel free to put up another helpme if you need more help, or leave me a note on my talk page. Happy editing! Hersfold (t/a/c) 04:26, 30 March 2008 (UTC)

Calling all active WP:NOVELS members

WikiProject Novels Roll Call

WikiProject Novels is currently holding a roll call, which we hope to have annually. Your username is listed on the members list, but we are unsure as to which editors are still active within the project. If you still consider yourself an active WP:Novels editor, please add your name back to the Active Members list. Also feel free to join any of our task forces and take a look at the project's Job Centre to get involved!

Next month we will begin the coordinator election selection process. We hope to have more involvement and input this time around! More news will be forthcoming. Thanks, everyone! María (habla conmigo) 18:00, 8 September 2008 (UTC)

Calling all active WP:Children's and Young Adult literature members

Help please???

{{helpme}}

I've tried to use the babel grouping system to organise my userboxes, but it's not working! When I try to use this:

{{Babel-X |header=My Userboxes |footer= |align=left|:Wikipediholic|6178|240367387}}|:Ladywitchthought/UserboxN1|:Nihiltres/Userboxes/Friendly|:Wikipedia:WikiProject Novels/NewNovelsMember| :User Artemis Fowl|: user WikiProject Children's literature|:Wikipedia:WikiProject Userboxes/Userbox|:User WP Harry Potter|G|:Wikipedia:WikiProject Novels/Outreach/User Lemony Snicket task force|:Template:User ASUE|:Template:User Narnia-WP }}

template, it turns up like this:

{{Babel-X |header=My Userboxes |footer= |align=left|:Wikipediholic{{!}}6178{{!}}240367387|:Ladywitchthought/UserboxN1|:Nihiltres/Userboxes/Friendly|:Wikipedia:WikiProject Novels/NewNovelsMember| :User Artemis Fowl|: user WikiProject Children's literature|:Wikipedia:WikiProject Userboxes/Userbox|:User WP Harry Potter|G|:Wikipedia:WikiProject Novels/Outreach/User Lemony Snicket task force|:Template:User ASUE|:Template:User Narnia-WP
}}

Can someone help please? Thanks, Ladywitchthought (talk) 02:47, 26 September 2008 (UTC)

Hello, the problem is that other userboxes aren't intended to be used in the {{Babel-X}} box. That is set up to only deal with "babel" language templates, like {{user en}} or {{user es-1}}, etc. What you can use instead is something like this:
{{userboxtop|align=left|toptext=My Userboxes}}
{{User Wikipediholic|6178|240367387}}
{{User:Ladywitchthought/UserboxN1}}
{{User:Nihiltres/Userboxes/Friendly}}
{{Wikipedia:WikiProject Novels/NewNovelsMember}}
{{User Artemis Fowl}}
{{user WikiProject Children's literature}}
{{Wikipedia:WikiProject Userboxes/Userbox}}
{{User WP Harry Potter|G}}
{{Wikipedia:WikiProject Novels/Outreach/User Lemony Snicket task force}}
{{User ASUE}}
{{User Narnia-WP}}
{{userboxbottom}}
That code will produce the box shown below, and you can easily add more userboxes by sticking them above {{userboxbottom}}. Hope this helps! Hersfold (t/a/c) 02:57, 26 September 2008 (UTC)

Thanks so much!!!Ladywitchthought (talk) 03:07, 26 September 2008 (UTC)

A sheepish {{helpme}}

{{helpme}} I've made it so far to get everything in order but there is just a tiny problem. You can see that when you show all the userboxes there is a 'i>' and a '|}' down the bottom of the table. Is there any way to get rid of this? And when the table is collapsed, the box is too big and I can't seem to make it smaller. Thanks, and sorry that I am so fussy! Thanks again, Ladywitchthought (talk) 03:13, 26 September 2008 (UTC)

Try this out. I've converted the mass of <div>'s into a collapsible wikitable that looks similar and does the same thing without messing up the display for everything underneath it. I've commented out the old code so it stops causing problems. Hersfold (t/a/c) 03:27, 26 September 2008 (UTC)

Thank you so much!!!! Ladywitchthought (talk) 03:30, 26 September 2008 (UTC)
