Speedy deletion of The MavHERick Mind[edit]

A tag has been placed on The MavHERick Mind, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G11 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article seems to be blatant advertising which only promotes a company, product, group, service or person and would need to be fundamentally rewritten in order to become an encyclopedia article. Please read the guidelines on spam as well as Wikipedia:FAQ/Business for more information.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}} to the top of the page that has been nominated for deletion (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on the talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the article meets the criterion it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the article that would would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Lastly, please note that if the article does get deleted, you can contact one of these admins to request that a copy be emailed to you. —Largo Plazo (talk) 16:28, 15 December 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Please do not add promotional material to Wikipedia, as you did to The MavHERick Mind. While objective prose about products or services is acceptable, Wikipedia is not intended to be a vehicle for advertising or promotion. Thank you. --Orange Mike | Talk 22:12, 23 December 2008 (UTC)[reply]

You should wait for others to write an article about subjects in which you are personally involved. This applies to articles about you, your achievements, your band, your business, your publications, your website, your relatives, and any other possible conflict of interest.

Creating an article about yourself is strongly discouraged. If you create such an article, it might be listed on articles for deletion. Deletion is not certain, but many feel strongly that you should not start articles about yourself. This is because independent creation encourages independent validation of both significance and verifiability. All edits to articles must conform to Wikipedia:No original research, Wikipedia:Neutral point of view, and Wikipedia:Verifiability.

If you are not "notable" under Wikipedia guidelines, creating an article about yourself may violate the policy that Wikipedia is not a personal webspace provider and would thus qualify for speedy deletion. If your achievements, etc., are verifiable and genuinely notable, and thus suitable for inclusion in Wikipedia, someone else will probably create an article about you sooner or later. (See Wikipedia:Wikipedians with articles.) Thank you. --Orange Mike | Talk 22:12, 23 December 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Article help[edit]

I'll help. It seems the second time you were trying to put it in your userspace, but you did it wrong (you missed the 'User:' prefix). If you don't have the original material, I can ask an admin to recreate it in your userspace, otherwise click here, put in the material, save (it won't get speedied, don't worry), and I'll help you out best I can if it is salvageable. neuro(talk) 23:15, 20 December 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Okay, problems I can see immediately:
  • Lots of tone problems (the thing needs a whole rewrite), especially:
    • Highly promotional tone
    • Highly informal tone
    • Stuff like 'inner power' is both nondescript and non-scientific
    • "The MavHERick™ Mind Liz Pabon is written for the female entrepreneur that recognizes she has yet to tap into her greatest source of power and true success." is particularly chatty and promotional.
  • References needed (see WP:RS)
  • Proof of notability required (see WP:BK)
I'm not much of an article writer, but do feel free to ask me about policies and the technical side of things (or even article writing, but as I say, I'm not exactly exemplary at it). Regards, neuro(talk) 16:27, 23 December 2008 (UTC)[reply]
