Foreign film Oscar nomination tables

I just updated Iceland's submissions, and while I was doing that, I experimented with different cell templates for the Results. I think using {{good|Nominated}} looks better than align=center style="background:#CEF2E0"|Nominee, and {{won|place=1st|Won Academy Award}} looks better than align=center style="background:#FAEB86"|{{sort|Academy Award|Won Academy Award}} (both code-wise, editability, and the final result). I just updated Algeria as well using this last one. What do you think? Jmj713 (talk) 14:56, 7 October 2014 (UTC)

Also simplified align=center style="background:#B0E0E6"|{{sort|Nor|Made January Shortlist}} to {{won|color=powderblue|Made January Shortlist}}. Jmj713 (talk) 17:07, 7 October 2014 (UTC)

I definitely plan on further bringing the yearly submission tables and each country's tables to a uniform format. So far I was able to update the older submission tables to the newer look, but most probably also need to have their code reworked later. A few countries like Bulgaria and Thailand have pretty bad-looking tables, so I'll get to those next. Jmj713 (talk) 13:20, 15 October 2014 (UTC)

For country lists, it looks like these six need fixing to bring them up to the same visual style: Brazil, Bulgaria, Croatia (needless Ref column), Denmark, Kyrgyzstan, Thailand; and maybe the Central American and Sub-Saharan Africa articles need to be split up into each country. Jmj713 (talk) 18:04, 16 October 2014 (UTC)

Thought

Hi Lug. Hope all has been well. Question -- I would have thought the image size was better as it was, rather than what you changed it to, here. It better fills the box width. Plus -- especially here, where the person is just a small portion of the image, it seems to better display the person in question. I'll defer to you here, but wanted to share my thoughts. --Epeefleche (talk) 06:39, 18 October 2014 (UTC)

With A Little Help From My Fwends

Hi Lugnuts,

I saw that you added the sentence about Miley Cyrus being featured on Lucy in the Sky With Diamonds back to the album page for With A Little Help From My Fwends.

With the number of collaborators on the album, why is it necessary to point out that Miley is on this song. She's also on "A Day in the Life" but why point that out?

Best,

A tag has been placed on K. N. Raghavan requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about a person or group of people, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such articles may be deleted at any time. Please read more about what is generally accepted as notable.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Click here to contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be removed without delay. Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. Wikipedia appreciates your help. We noticed though that you've added some links pointing to disambiguation pages. Deleting uknown results

Hi Lugnuts, I see you deleted unreferenced unknown Olympic results, for instance here. The same problem will occur for many more events, like Shooting at the 1920 Summer Olympics – Men's 50 metre small-bore rifle. However as the article says The scores are only known for the shooters of the best eight nations. All the unknown results are listed on the country pages of these Olympics, so I think these shooters have competed at the Olympics, but the results are unkown by sports-reference.com. Because of this I think it is good to keep these athletes on page, but maybe in a separate table or with a note. What do you think? Sander.v.Ginkel (talk) 12:04, 18 December 2014 (UTC)

Merry Christmas!

Jens Voigt has not been picked up yet on GA. I'll try to contribute my best to the transfers after January 1st, you're welcome to help :) Merry Christmas once again! :D Mattsnow81 (Talk) 17:58, 20 December 2014 (UTC)

Proposed deletion of Ralph Baum

I proposed the article to be deleted on more than one ground. 1. The page has no information except one sentence and 2 of his films 2. There are no references other than IMDB which can not be counted as reliable.

You can not revert a proposed deletion, it should go to be debated to see if it is worthy of being on here. Makro (talk) 13:24, 21 December 2014 (UTC)

Merry Merry

Why did you delete my addition to Winston Hibler as "unsourced?" Some of his narration credits are right there on the page.

It's been a week--still waiting for a response.

Looks like you're the only one trying to keep that sentence in; I see now from the article history that you've restored it multiple times after several separate IPs removed it, and then again when I did. So what's your reason? I gave mine in my edit summary. postdlf (talk) 17:28, 23 December 2014 (UTC)

The article's talkpage, professor, not mine. Lugnuts Dick Laurent is dead 18:28, 23 December 2014 (UTC)
This is where we are. Now do you have anything to say? postdlf (talk) 18:34, 23 December 2014 (UTC)
Article now re-worded. Lugnuts Dick Laurent is dead 18:37, 23 December 2014 (UTC)

Gabriel Axel's last film

Danish National Filmography lists Axel's last film with the English title Laïla the Pure and the Danish title as Leïla. Laïla the Pure would be such an easy choice for the article title, but Leïla would be the correct title per COMMONNAME. Leïla is however a redirect to the dab page Leila, and we have Leila (film) with the wonderful Leila Hatami from A Separation as well. How would you go ahead in this situation? Best, Sam Sing! 13:30, 26 December 2014 (UTC)

Try this...

@Lugnuts: I invite you to create an interesting DYK for The President's Plane is Missing (film)... something interesting and supported by sources. Merry Christmas. Schmidt, Michael Q. 00:05, 27 December 2014 (UTC)

Please stop

This stuff [8]. Actually, please revert the edit. NE Ent 11:13, 27 December 2014 (UTC)

I added the novel article for nomination and then added QPQ. I hope you do the same for the film. --George Ho (talk) 08:18, 29 December 2014 (UTC)

Here's a new one...

Someone shared this on Facebook, and in researching it I became intrigued and realized that The Centrifuge Brain Project would serve Wikipedia and its readers. This one deserves the very best and most eye-catching DYK possible. What might you devise? Schmidt, Michael Q. 14:32, 29 December 2014 (UTC)
