Ways to improve Arthur Drexler[edit]

Hello, Mandarinrobotic,

Thank you for creating Arthur Drexler.

I have tagged the page as having some issues to fix, as a part of our page curation process and note that:

At this time this would not survive wp:afd, you need third party RS to keep this form being deleted.

The tags can be removed by you or another editor once the issues they mention are addressed. If you have questions, leave a comment here and prepend it with {{Re|Slatersteven}}. And, don't forget to sign your reply with ~~~~. For broader editing help, please visit the Teahouse.

Deletion discussion about Arthur Drexler[edit]

Hello, Mandarinrobotic

Welcome to Wikipedia! I edit here too, under the username Slatersteven and it's nice to meet you :-)

I wanted to let you know that I've started a discussion about whether an article that you created, Arthur Drexler, should be deleted. Your comments are welcome at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Arthur Drexler.

You might like to note that such discussions usually run for seven days and are not ballot-polls. And, our guide about effectively contributing to such discussions is worth a read. Last but not least, you are highly encouraged to continue improving the article; just be sure not to remove the tag about the deletion nomination from the top.

If you have any questions, please leave a comment here and prepend it with {{Re|Slatersteven}}. And, don't forget to sign your reply with ~~~~ . Thanks!

Can you explain please what is wrong with the Dexler article, he was a very important person, see all his exhibitions, books over his tenure at the MoMA and see his obituary in the New York Times! Look forward to your comments. Mandarinrobotic (talk) 17:12, 30 November 2019 (UTC)MandarinroboticMandarinrobotic (talk) 17:12, 30 November 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Hi there- saw the Arthur Drexler article at AFD, so I did a bit of searching, and added a couple of references I found that discuss his exhibitions, and their importance to postmodernism. Its usually better to start it off in draftspace, or a sandbox until you have built up the article with enough references to confirm notability. What you need are sources unconnected to, and independent of Drexler, so anything from Moma, or interviews etc, wont count (although you can use them to fill in bits of information as needed). You need to show that the world in general thought he was important, not just say that they did. It is usually better to avoid things like "trailblazing exhibitions that not only mirrored but also foresaw major stylistic design developments in industrial design, architecture and landscaping." unless its an actual quote, and you have cited it. The book is good- I added a google books link so other editors can check the information for themselves.
There are also these in google books - Modern Architecture and Other Essays pge 29 and chapter ten, pge 157 discuss an exhibition, [1]
and Mediated Messages: Periodicals, Exhibitions and the Shaping of Postmodern Architecture [2] from page 70 has quite a few mentions as well.
I know next to nothing about post modernist architecture, but if you need any help, just leave message on my talkpage. Curdle (talk) 11:55, 1 December 2019 (UTC)[reply]

File source problem with File:T77 engine section 1934.jpg[edit]

Thank you for uploading File:T77 engine section 1934.jpg. I noticed that the file's description page currently doesn't specify who created the content, so the copyright status is unclear. If you obtained it from a website, please add a link to the page from which it was taken, together with a brief restatement of the website's terms of use of its content. Not sure why it is assumed that not enough published sources/references are not included. However, I have added two additional book references published in English and also please see the recent article in English wholly devoted to the subject matter published in a very respectable 'The Automobile' magazine. I have re-submitted the draft again hoping it is acceptable. Thank you. Mandarinrobotic (talk) 08:06, 21 September 2023 (UTC)[reply]
