Welcome to the English Wikipedia. The only problem was that you made a page at Maxim pouska:Example/draft article on Georg Nees. Since that did not start with "User:" it was an article in the main encyclopedia space. If you want to make draft articles in your own user space, they need to start with "User:Maxim Pouska/". You can make one by clicking on Help:Userspace draft and filling in the title.

However, on English Wikipedia we now have a Draft namespace for draft articles, and another user has moved your page to Draft:Georg Nees where you can work on it.

One comment on what you wrote on the talk page: "all the text is copyright by --Maxim Pouska". You cannot say that: everything you contribute to Wikipedia is released under CC-BY-SA, see the notice immediately above the "Save page" button.

Why I write for Wikipedia

Some time ago, I used Wikipedia for research about computer art. What struck me that in secondary literature sometimes information’s are not correct. This I found also in "peer reviewed" books which are listed in the references. I have access to a private library by a collector with books and magazines on computer art. These books are primary source (original source) or early secondary literature about computer art.

On the Internet, you can find now many new primary sources that were unknown a few years or weeks ago. As an example I mention, the documents relating to the first experiments by A. Michael Noll in 1962. The library with books printed on paper and more research via the Internet I use now to improve articles on Wikipedia DE and EN. I am aware that previous authors often had no opportunity to use these new or old sources. I also realize that later authors will come to correct my text of today. These authors have then access to resources that are currently unknown to me. My thanks and respect goes but nevertheless to all who started article already on this subject.

PS – I know about the preference for secondary sources at Wikipedia – but if a mistake is spreading like a virus – I look in an old book too.--Maxim Pouska (talk) 18:53, 24 April 2015 (UTC)

Hello Maxim! I'm sorry that it's taking such a long time for me to finish the copy editing. I wish I could work faster, but since neither German or English is my first language, I have to thing four or five times before I get the sentences right. ;) The main problem is that the two languages build sentences in such completely different order.  Done Hi Maxim, I've done as much copy editing as I can now and it's time for you to start fixing up the references. From what I can see you have not used the full and correct way of writing the refs before. I fixed one for you (the last one) so you can see how it's supposed to look. You should not leave just bare urls like you have done in many of the refs. I know that some editors disregard the use of templates in the refs, but you wanted to learn how edit the right way, and this is it. There are two good help pages where you can learn about how this is done: Help:Referencing for beginners (which includes a video tutorial) and User:Yunshui/References for beginners (more easy-going). Hello W.carter, with exactly this problem I had to fight on Wikipedia DE too. You're doing it differently as in WP-de ... name=martens>{{cite web|last1=Martens|first1=Bob|title=A ... I saved it as a demo in my doc. Best.--Maxim Pouska (talk) 09:00, 17 December 2015 (UTC)

The difference is that by "naming" the ref and writing for example <ref name=martens> instead of just <ref>, you can use the ref several times without having to write all of it more than one time. If you want to use the ref multiple times, you just add <ref name=martens /> as you can see I did at the second use of it. The rest inside the {{}} is called a citation template. Hello @W.carter: I start to work today and the next at the references. My Mentor at WP:de is to busy which some other work and because of this, the article is not finished for the article namespace at WP:de, yet. To send this article to the article namespace here at WP:en I still need the special No. from WP:de for the translation.

References – I don’t use the templates (too much work). I use the more easy way (like in WP:de too) and in WP:en: ref author, article_link "article_name", publisher, publication_date.ref. The same for the name of people. I prefer at this time to write it like: ref Patricia Sabatini, … etc. But with „Retrieved retrieved_date.</“ I have a problem . Some of the links I retrieved back in 2014 or 2013 and so I prefer not to write this in this article. In the Futur I can take care of this if I do new research. Hi Maxim, a very Happy New Year to you too. Sorry to hear that you don't want to use templates for the refs, I think you should always strive towards excellence when writing articles. It gets easier if you practice doing it, "too much work" sounds a bit lazy and the standards are very different on Wikis in different languages. As for the accessdate, if a source is on the internet and still available, you should use today's date. If not, but you have the exact date you retrieved it, you should use that even if it's from 2013 or 2014. If it's in a written publication, you don't need it since such a source doesn't change with time.

Since you are working on the same article in both Wikis, it doesn't matter which one is published first. You can publish first on the en-wiki and put the tag on the de-wiki article instead, especially in this case since you are the writer on both of them. The tag doesn't say that it is an exact translation, only that one article contains material taken from the other article.

As for moving the article to main space, it would have to be a merge with the existing article Architectural endoscopy. Although, as I said before, that article is a stub that could be used as a lead for the new expanded article. I have never done a merger of two articles (or a complete draft like yours with an article) so I don't know how to transfer/merge all the articles' history. This may have to be done by an admin, perhaps Philg88 could give us some pointers on what to do.

Sorry, but I don't quite understand what you mean by "PS I dit cut here < and [". If you are referring to that you cut and pasted those symbols into the text, you should take a look at the line just immediately below the editing window. There, to the left, you will find a small box that might say "Insert". If you click on that it will expand and you should find "Wiki markup" to click on. This will give you all the markup you need. You can just click on the different symbols and they will be inserted into the text where the place marker is. Best, w.carter-Talk 19:32, 6 January 2016 (UTC)

I will do the references like the template - but without the template. I try to get the same result. The merger is best via Philg88 I think too. I've moved your draft to Architectural endoscopy/tmp so that it's in mainspace. What you need to do now is to merge any usable existing content/references (if any) from Architectural endoscopy to the new article. Hello @Philg88: The two references in Architectural endoscopy are in my article too - EAEA in European Architectural Endoscopy Association (EAEA) and Bob Martens in Renaissance of endoscopy. I added and edited the contend: An endoscope connected to a video camera allows for the creation of walkthroughs, allowing the architect to develop the first draft further, and the public to share and critique the architect's vision of proposed buildings and cities. Kevin Carter

@Martinevans123: Hello the story about Kevin Carter is not fun. I think about to write it complete new first on my user space. I like biographies and wrote some in German and translated the articles into English. First the kid survived . The source is in Spanish and by journalist from El Monde. The stories from the early days are all somehow negative against Kevin. Maybe most of the journalist at this time (include from The Time) were more or less jealous of his Pulitzer. I found a lot new citation for a neutral and more personal biography. Also more information about the kid and the situation at the time and the place of the photo. All sources are OK – valid. Maybe at the end – in some time – I would like to ask you to take a look at the new article. After this I have to ask an admin to merge the old and the new article. I did this for the articles Georg Nees and William Fetter. The other article I wrote first in German and with the help of an admin and a mentor it was put on en:wp.

Hello, yes I know and like it. I always discuse my intentions on the talk pages first. The changes are then filled with citation and quotations. I am writing the text plus the citation on my user page to get a correct WP styl - special for the references. But this still takes some time. @Martinevans123: Hello I did buy the book "The Bang Bang Club", first edition 2000. It was easy via abebooks and not expensiv, and it is now on my desk. I can write the article now as a real biography and a lot of inline citation will help. But I take my time. Maybe I'm only ready in Decembre or January. RL is very strong. The book is a teamwork by Greg Marinovich and Joa Silva - the writer is only Greg. Some of the wording at WP is from the booK: chasing, trip, etc. I take care of this. Study "Wikipedia:When to cite" for this again.

But a question too. The critic by - do-gooder, starry-eyed idealists, international do-gooder and bleeding-heart libertarians/republicans - in German Gutmensch is something. How I write that this people dont have no idea about the job of a reporter to the job of a paramedic, nurse, doctor in a situation like in Sudan is a special question for me. I have two editors als helper for my german-france-english und W.carter is helping for the right formating of the references - crazy stuff :-) - but I learn it too. This part I plan to put in the article about Kevin tomorrow. The other updates following in some weeks too. The article was a mess and I found the right WP-wort for this after longresearch. :-) It was like a coatrack article - Coatrack_articles.

Hi Maxim and also Martinevans123. I managed to track down the sources at the end of João Silva (photographer) and also moved them up into the text in some appropriate places. Since all those sources can contain more facts that may be useful, or refs mentioned in other places, I have given them all ref names. If you want to take a closer look at them, they are easy to access via the diff before I moved them up into the text. Bang-Bang Club update

@Werldwayd: Hello I working on an update of the articles about the Bang-Bang club and also the members. I take my time and maybe next year the job is finished. Because I did find your name as first author for some of this article I contact you. The theme I found via the photo of the Boy (girl) and the Vulture by Kevin Carter. My first impression was: something is wrong with the article about Kevin. Started my research and now I see: first I have to correct and update the other articles about this "club" and the other members. Only after this I can write an artikle about Kevin like my artikels about Georg Nees, William Fetter or Alex Kempkens (hi was in Biafra). I appreciate if you take a look at my updates. Thank you Maxim for your great work on covering of Greg Marinovich and Bang-Bang Club. As you notice I have made some important review of the page and obviously the very much needed clean-up of the page. I've left the contents practically intact, but had to correct language, grammar extensively and the way referencing was done which was very much lacking. Now I think it is more in line with an encyclopedic presentation although it may need further review by other editors as well. When I started the Bang Bang Club page on Wikipedia, I was fascinated by the subject immensely. The fascination has not gone away after all this time despite editing thousands of other Wikipedia pages. This particular subject and page still hits me home to a great extent every time. Hello @Werldwayd: - do you kow some editor fluend in Japanese language? I researched the source by Shogo Fujiwara - book: The Boy who Became a Postcard (絵葉書にされた少年 - Ehagaki ni sareta shōnen). I found a rewiew in japanese, translated via google - not to bad - into germany. The boy in this book is not the kid Kevin Carter photographed in Sudan. Its a kid from Lesotho maybe 70 years ago. (Königreichs Lesotho / Kingdom of Lesotho)

Because of this I use only the information in the book by Marinovich and Silva, first edition, US, for the new text. Plus some other valuable source – reliable sources. I have to delede the old text completly but I take care that Silva get a fair credit in this story. Because it was his idea to go to Sudan. Beside what writers, journalist etc. invented years ago in this part is some times pure imagination - today accepted as valuable secondary sources. Just life :-).

After this job I start with the girl and the vulture. At this point I prefer to put the information - The girl was a Boy, directly at the top of this article - like in a disclaimer - after the introduction. I would sure like to help, but I don't know how to proceed. You have all the materials and all I've seen is the movie. I don't know a Japanese editor but a good try would be the Wikipedia Embassy Wikipedia:Local Embassy#日本語 (ja). There are many language helpers on the page. By the way, you are doing great job with these related articles. But the language is lacking. the book is more a bad source from 2005 - then a valid source

Hello @Martinevans123: and W.carter please take a look at the talk page by Kevin Carter for the book from Japan. I don't think it is covered by the roules at WP for to be a valide source. Nobody can find an English text of the book, for example I did not found a English text. What is the point, that the book is in the Bibliogaphy? You might want to take a look at these sources. A source is just as valid in any language. They don't have to be in English.

Hello - I see it differend.

I'm ok with amazon, but the two other article are based on the early wikipedia article only. wp ist not a valuable source - also this two article are not valuable too.

What did Silva told - maybe 10 years later - and what excactely wrote the autor - nobody no, becaus nobody can check this story about the wings, 20 minutes, etc. The old text at wikipedia is in the other sources just rewritten - copie past. It is based on a story by a witness which was not a eye witness at all for the photo of the kid. How I wrote the old story and special this part (alternativ record) is a coatrack text - with no real references.

Invitation to WikiProject Portals

The Portals WikiProject has been rebooted.

You are invited to join, and participate in the effort to revitalize and improve the Portal system and all the portals in it.

There are sections on the WikiProject page dedicated to tasks (including WikiGnome tasks too), and areas on the talk page for discussing the improvement and automation of the various features of portals.

Many complaints have been lodged in the RfC to delete all portals, pointing out their various problems. They say that many portals are not maintained, or have fallen out of date, are useless, etc. Many of the !votes indicate that the editors who posted them simply don't believe in the potential of portals anymore.

It's time to change all that. Let's give them reasons to believe in portals, by revitalizing them.

The best response to a deletion nomination is to fix the page that was nominated. The further underway the effort is to improve portals by the time the RfC has run its course, the more of the reasons against portals will no longer apply. RfCs typically run 30 days. There are 19 days left in this one. Let's see how many portals we can update and improve before the RfC is closed, and beyond.

A healthy WikiProject dedicated to supporting and maintaining portals may be the strongest argument of all not to delete.

We may even surprise ourselves and exceed all expectations. Who knows what we will be able to accomplish in what may become the biggest Wikicollaboration in years.

Let's do this.

I'd also like to let you know that the Portals WikiProject is working hard to make sure your support of portals was not in vain. Toward that end, we have been working diligently to innovate portals, while building, updating, upgrading, and maintaining them. The project has grown to 80 members so far, and has become a beehive of activity.

Our two main goals at this time are to automate portals (in terms of refreshing, rotating, and selecting content), and to develop a one-page model in order to make obsolete and eliminate most of the 150,000 subpages from the portal namespace by migrating their functions to the portal base pages, using technologies such as selective transclusion. Hi Maxim. You asked me to take a look at this draft for you, so I had a quick glance at it... formatting-wise there are still some issues, but you're already aware of them. My main concern is that the article seems to be about the wrong subject - most of the content is about the BCD Cybernetic Art team, and given the sources, it might make rather more sense to re-write the draft as an article on the team itself, rather than on one individual member. Hi @Yunshui:. I am somehow aware of this with the team and its three members. Vladimir is an artist of the new tendencies movment from 1968 - since 1967, Miro has been the software designer, team partner and the chef programmer. I have no problem to prove the notability.

The men then needed a graphic designer for the future projects - this would become Dunja. My idea was that dunja gets her own article, so her name in the bcd-team article is a blue link. Ladies first. Later I wanted to write an article about Vlademir, Dunja again with the blue link. Then also a separate article for Miro.

An example are the articles for the members of the Bang-Bang Club.
