Speedy deletion nomination of David Smeltz[edit]

Hello, Mistiaas,

Welcome to Wikipedia! I edit here too, under the username Hughesdarren and it's nice to meet you :-)

I wanted to let you know that I have tagged an article that you started, David Smeltz, for deletion, because it's impossible to identify the subject of the article.

If you feel that the article shouldn't be deleted and want more time to work on it, you can contest this deletion but please don't remove the speedy deletion tag from the top. If the page is already deleted by the time you come across this message and you wish to retrieve the deleted material, please contact the deleting administrator.

For any further query, please leave a comment here and prepend it with {{Re|Hughesdarren}}. And, don't forget to sign your reply with ~~~~ . Thanks!

Message delivered via the Page Curation tool, on behalf of the reviewer.

Article moved to Draft[edit]

Hi, I moved your article to Draft:David Smeltz. If you want to work on an article, it's always best to start it in Draft space. As you can see from other actions, creating a blank article will quickly result in deletion requests. Draft gives you time to work on it, it should not be published until it's ready. JamesG5 (talk) 09:03, 21 April 2020 (UTC)[reply]

If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

Hello, and welcome to Wikipedia. This is a notice to inform you that a tag has been placed on David Smeltz requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A1 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because it is a very short article providing little or no context to the reader. Please see Wikipedia:Stub for our minimum information standards for short articles. Also please note that articles must be on notable subjects and should provide references to reliable sources that verify their content.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the deleting administrator, or if you have already done so, you can place a request here. Please develop the article at Draft:David Smeltz and then move it to the mainspace, ideally with the Articles for Creation process; there is no need to save the title in the mainspace before the content for the page has been written. —Ost (talk) 15:00, 17 June 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Dave Smeltz moved to draftspace[edit]

It appears that you may have a conflict of interest with the subject of Dave Smeltz, and as such you should submit this article to be published through the Articles for Creation process. Before editing the article further, please first disclose on your user page and on the article's Talk page whether you have received money to write this or other articles on Wikipedia, or if you have any other kind of conflict of interest concerning the subject. I've moved your draft to draftspace (with a prefix of "Draft:" before the article title) where you can incubate the article with minimal disruption. Before submitting, you should make sure that the article is fully compliant with Wikipedia’s neutrality and verifiability policies, as well as our notability guidelines. When you’re ready, please click on the "Submit your draft for review!" button at the top of the page. This process is encouraged, but optional. If you choose not to participate in it, you can remove the AfC template and move the article back to mainspace. You should also consider reaching out to the Teahouse for additional feedback and aid from experienced editors. signed, Rosguill talk 19:01, 10 October 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Deletion pending for File:Dave Smeltz singing.jpg[edit]

Hello, Mistiaas. Some time ago, a file you uploaded — File:Dave Smeltz singing.jpg — was tagged with {{OTRS pending}}, indicating that you (or perhaps the copyright holder if you did not create this image) submitted a statement of permission to permissions-en@wikimedia.org. Though there is often a backlog processing messages received at this address, we should have received your message by now.

  • If you have not submitted (or forwarded) a statement of permission, please send it immediately to permissions-en@wikimedia.org and let us know at the OTRS noticeboard that you have done so.
  • If you have already sent this message, it is possible that there was a problem receiving it. Please re-send it to permissions-en@wikimedia.org and let us know at the OTRS noticeboard that you have done so.

If we don't hear from you within one week, the file will be deleted. If we can help you, please feel free to ask at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. --B-bot (talk) 15:32, 1 December 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Help me![edit]

Please help me with... I have a question on a concern of conflict of interest of a deleted page, Draft:Dave Smeltz. I was referred as an experienced writer to develop a Wikipedia page on Dave Smeltz, the first American Reggae artist in Cleveland. I had not met or talked with the subject prior to beginning the creation of the page. I was under the impression from my online research that it was the norm to be contracted for monetary payment for the writing of a Wikipedia page. Please provide clarification on why this was flagged for this reason. Thank you. (Mistiaas (talk) 06:42, 19 December 2020 (UTC)) Mistiaas (talk) 06:42, 19 December 2020 (UTC)[reply]

That is not the case, and you are now obligated to formally disclose this on your userpage and include a declaration that covers every other page you are editing for cash. We take a very dim view on paid editing in general, and undisclosed paid editing is explicitly against the Terms of Use. —A little blue Bori v^_^v Takes a strong man to deny... 08:58, 19 December 2020 (UTC)[reply]
