Redundant warning?
I'm assuming you overlooked this notification which came before the report was filed, but this was rather unnecessary given that a warning had just been placed on my talk page, which was removed and therefore acknowledged. The edit-warring notification, the edit-warrior noticeboard notification, and then another edit-warring notification is a bit of overkill, especially in the span of only a few minutes. - Aoidh (talk) 04:40, 20 September 2013 (UTC)
- I wanted to make sure that you got a full, unambiguous edit warring warning. Though your right, getting reported to the noticeboard does let you know someone thought you were edit warring. - I don't intend to edit war further regarding the tag (I didn't realize it had happened that much until it was pointed out), but it appears that the report was made as an attempt to game the system, as the filer then immediately proceeded to continue to edit war to place the reorder the AfD. Now notifying me of edit-warring clearly demonstrates that they themselves are aware of it, so I can't see any other reason to file an edit warring report and then immediately continue to edit war other than to try to game the system to get their way. - Aoidh (talk) 04:57, 20 September 2013 (UTC)

Monty, User:Aoidh has reversed my edits (now on the Chakra talk-page) again. Please assist. Relevant links: [[1]], [2], [3]
In dealing with User:Aoidh I may not have been a Saint but I have—as the records will show—made repeated attempts to engage other editors throughout. I invited other editors to offer feed back on the Chakra talk-page both directly on the page and on the pages of the relevant WikiProjects (i.e. WikiProject Linux. WikiProject Free Software, WikiProject Software, WikiProject Computing). While User:Aoidh was composing a submission to WP:AfD, I was adding WP:RfC tags to the talk-page in an attempt to draw in broader community feedback.[4]. Yes I eventually started getting snarky. Yes I've made some quick reverts of reverts. Yes I'm human. But I've tried. I've tried to encourage a collective process in the face of repeated unilateral actions by a single editor.
At this point if you want to just lump it all together and ban both of us (kevjonesin and Aoidh) for a bit, I'll accept that. I can't say that I'd consider it completely fair, but at least it would be pragmatic and allow the current Chakra discussions to proceed unmolested for awhile.

- This comment seems to sum up why Kevjonesin is continuing to insert this anywhere he can; not because it's relevant to the article, but rather so that "anyone else who finds themselves feeling bullied by you, User:Aoidh, should have documentation of the edit warring complaint readily available so as to avoid future ambibuity as to whether you are aware of WP:3RR." Articles talk pages do not exist so that editors can "document" the behavior of others under the guise of, ironically, "feeling bullied". As I told Kevjonesin multiple times, there are appropriate venues for such concerns (WP:ANI and WP:RFC/U for example), but an article's talk page is not one of them. Continuing to reinsert this irrelevant "notice" on an article's talk page is bordering on harassment, and should not be tolerated. - Aoidh (talk) 11:29, 20 September 2013 (UTC)

Hi, as you were the last admin to delete this page, I thought it best to come to you. Someone has recreated the page, and it is as non-notable as ever. Since this is the third or fourth time this article has been created, I would like to request that you delete the article and then salt the title. - I deleted it G7, based on a request from the creator of that version. That can't serve as a justification for deleting the new version. Actually, all 3 of the deletions I see are from G7. I would recommend taking the article to AfD, if deleted following a discussion, any recreations will probably be deletable per WP:CSD G4. Monty845 19:51, 24 September 2013 (UTC)

- Yeah, the user page was blanked, but it has several notices of speedy delete noms for that title (incl mine) (https://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=User_talk:Faisal6545&oldid=574186925#Proposed_deletion_of_Veron_.28Software.29). - Ok, deleted G4, per Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Veron (Software), as it was substantially the same, and didn't fix the notability issue. Script request questions
Hey there Monty. I babbled a little bit on IRC last night about the possibility of creating a userscript for you to be able to do stuff with images that are red links. Before I get started, I'd like to make a list here of what this script should do exactly (because my brain goes sideways a lot and I have a hard time focusing and remembering stuffs). If you could go through and re-order the list below in order of importance to you, I would greatly appreciate that.
- Upload wizard to re-upload image (upload new image in its place)
- Description page of image (deleted or not)
- Talk page
- Edit talk page (if exist)
- Special:Undelete page for image
- Special:Log

- What I was hoping for was that if I click the redlink [[File:Test12352634634]], it would take me to [5] instead of the image upload page [6] like it otherwise would. Even with popups, the edit and history options for the link give me the option to see the history and edit the file upload page. - The IP editor only made the one attempt that triggered 2 filters. The edit, if it had gone through, probably would have gotten a level 1 warning, maybe a level 2. Granted, they did also make a bad false positive report, so I figure a level 2 warning makes sense. The level 3 edit filter warning seemed excessive in that light, so I went with a level 2 warning they would have received if it weren't for the filter. Monty845 02:06, 26 September 2013 (UTC)

Changes to SuggestBot's suggestions
We have changed the number of suggested articles and which categories they are selected from. The number of stubs has been greatly reduced, the number of articles needing sources doubled, and two new categories added (orphans and unencyclopaedic articles). We have also modified the layout of the suggestions and added sortable columns with various types of information about each article. The first two columns are:
- Views/Day
- Daily average number of views an article's had over the past 14 days.
- Quality
- Predicted article quality on a 1- to 3-star scale. Placing your cursor over the stars should give you a pop-up describing the article's quality (Low/Medium/High), current assessment class, and predicted assessment class.
The method we use to predict article quality also allows us to assess whether an article might need specific types of work in order to improve its quality. The work needed might not correspond to cleanup tags added to the article, since our method is not based on those. We have added five columns reflecting this work assessment, where a red X indicates improvement is needed. Placing your cursor over an X should give you a pop-up with a short description of the work needed. The five columns seek to answer the following five questions:
- Content
- Is more content needed?
- Headings
- Does this article have an appropriate section structure?
- Images
- Is the number of illustrative images about right?
- Links
- Does this article link to enough other Wikipedia articles?
- Sources
- For its length, is there an appropriate number of citations to sources in this article?
SuggestBot picks articles in a number of ways based on other articles you've edited, including straight text similarity, following wikilinks, and matching your editing patterns against those of other Wikipedians. It tries to recommend only articles that other Wikipedians have marked as needing work. By the way, I just created the above redirect to match past years. More to the point, you may want to look at what I did to the RFC page. (I was going to say "your" page, but you might not realize I was joking.) I created a new main header for the subject of the length of terms, and added a statement proposing the opposite of what Risker proposed (i.e. making ALL terms two years regardless of the "tranche" structure.) I thought that with just your statement and Risker's, there was a risk of a really confusing situation for the closers of the RfC, especially since at least two people have supported your statement and Risker's, which were partly in conflict with other. Proposed general questions for arbitrator candidates
As per our discussion on the talkpage for the ArbCom elections questions, I put together a working draft of an updated and simplified set of questions for candidates, two or three days ago. To date, no one has commented on the proposed question set or seemingly even noticed it. For the reasons I mentioned when I first posted to that page, I don't want it to appear that a sitting arbitrator is trying to control or influence the election, so I don't plan to do anything more to publicize or promote this alternative approach to the questioning, although I do think it would represent an improvement over the existing set-up. (For one thing, I can attest from my runs in 2010 and 2012 that just formatting the responses to all the nested subparts took candidates way too much time; hence the preference for a simpler numbering scheme.) Hi Monty. Not sure if anybody has thanked you for all your work on ArbCom elections over the years, so I will. Thanks very much for your effort getting things set up so everything runs smoothly. I saw that you hadn't edited for over a week and figured you probably had real life stuff to take care of. I was concerned and was wondering who would do all that work if you weren't around, so I stepped up to the plate so to speak.
