Speedy deletion of Ian Court

    • Can I make the point that the most recent issue is very F1-news based, the kind of info that could be got anywhere. As our aim is to be writing an encyclopaedia, I feel it should focus more on WPF1-news, and the race report writing should be focussed on either Wikinews or more formally as part of the encyclopaedia entries here.     WTCC 2009

    You can't predict that those entries will compete in the whole season. Yes, it may be pedantic but it's true. Only when the driver competes in all 24 rounds then you can put "All" in the rounds box. See various series' season articles like GP2, World Series by Renault and British F3.     The lucky thing about it is, car #29 is due to be the Eurocopa car – the car in which the best performer at the previous round gets a shot at the next WTCC round. Meaning there will be a different driver at each round. I'd just keep it to the TBA if a driver was to be announced. Don't want rumours on there, and only put the round numbers on when they actually compete in the round.

    Say for example, Marin Čolak couldn't make it for Puebla, and a replacement driver came in and uses the same number. It could be done like so:

    I was aware of that, but I was using that above to signify how it would be done if the drivers didn't change numbers (á la F1, GP2). It would be the way you had it for changing numbers. Regards, Cs-wolves(talk) 20:04, 8 March 2009 (UTC)

    Proposed deletion of 2009 Intercontinental Rally Challenge Season

    Former BTCC drivers

    The Plato and Thompson articles should have the alumnus template on them because they are currently not active in the series. Just copy the one from the Muller page and work from there.

    I believe [not sure] that Kane is the official test driver for F2, although if Motorbase run a third car at somepoint, Kane will be at the wheel. Regards. Cs-wolves(talk) 18:08, 28 March 2009 (UTC)

    Re:Colours?

    I think the colours would originally have been used in the IndyCar article because of the stronger association of certain numbers with certain entrants and drivers that exists in US racing. This connection also exists in the other categories you extended it to (plus these articles are not as well maintained, so minor changes like that are less likely to be challenged). In F1, this connection has not existed since the numbering system was changed in 1996, so there's probably less of a reason for the colour-coded numbers. However, it would be worth bringing this issue up at WT:F1 as I don't really have a strong opinion on the matter, and it would be useful to get some more input.--Diniz(talk) 18:52, 28 March 2009 (UTC)

    F2

    It's carnage today. There's NASCAR, IRL, BTCC, F3 Euro, DTM, F2, WTCC, IFM, and so much more. I didn't include it because we really shouldn't have sponsorship in the races/cars.     Yeah, it's an interesting point. I think PalmerSport Junior ran all the cars in T-Cars, and then PalmerSport in FPA. Not 100% sure on that, but I think it should be feasible to have it there. ;) Cs-wolves(talk) 12:36, 31 May 2009 (UTC)

    Nah, that's alright. I usually do the qualifying tables, an I stick one in there through force of habit. I was expecting an edit conflict, anyway.     WTCC infobox

    Rigon

    I think at first that Rigon was done for the season due to the budgetary problems, as it had been on the cards since Monaco. When he missed out in Germany, I thought González had the drive for a while, but obviously I was wrong! Cs-wolves(talk) 19:19, 18 August 2009 (UTC)

    Coloni/FMS

    It all depends on the other series, if they're still going under the FMS name or whether they're all changing to Scuderia Coloni. I believe the Coloni parts should be split, as one focusses on the Grand Prix team, while a short section appears for the F3000 team. Oh, and if you ever need something for the GP2 media thing, Username: gp2 and Password: media. ;) Cs-wolves(talk) 12:23, 21 August 2009 (UTC)

    Coloni Motorsport would be best I feel, as that incorporates both the F3000 team and the GP2 team. We can always reflect the new name at the top, in a similar way to Fat Burner Racing Engineering. FMS only existed from 2005 onwards, so there will be very little in comparison to all the Coloni info. I apologise for my talk page then! Cs-wolves(talk) 13:44, 21 August 2009 (UTC)
    I'd say keep the FMS GP2 stuff on the article. BCN details are listed on the Ocean Racing Technology article, so we have to follow such. I'd say we'd have to look such websites that track a lot of the series for Coloni results. Cs-wolves(talk) 15:32, 21 August 2009 (UTC)

    Thank but no thanks. I see no reason I can't post a discussion item to BOTH pages so long as both exist. I wanted it to be on the Lotus F1 Team, so that people may go to Team Lotus and see the fact that I have posted on Team Lotus an opposition to the split.     Mercedes

    I admit I screwed up. However, at the time the article I linked to was the best that I had. I understand a little German, and took the article at its word. The idea was to beat others to the punch and prevent a flurry of edits and vandals. However, that report was premature and I inadvertently caused the very problem I was seeking to avoid. I will add that none of the reports out of Britain were accurate until Autosport ran something that confirmed no driver decisions had been made. And unlike most people who edit things in without references, I went back and reversed (almost) everything I did.
