Thanks[edit]

Just wanted to say thanks for converting File:Chiefs 60th logo.svg to an SVG for me. Quick question, when I got up date a couple of things, it won't open in Inkscape... do you know why? Corky 15:14, 23 September 2019 (UTC)[reply]

@Corkythehornetfan:sorry i dont know, you have to download the orginal file from commons - and you should use the latest version of inkscape - i just testet it - no problems here - do you need edits? --Mrmw (talk) 16:20, 23 September 2019 (UTC)[reply]
Let me try updating Inkscape first and I’ll get back to you. Thanks! Corky 16:36, 23 September 2019 (UTC)[reply]
I updated inkscape, seemed to work! Thanks for the help! Corky 17:12, 23 September 2019 (UTC)[reply]
@Corkythehornetfan: how was you able to reduce the filesize? --Mrmw (talk) 07:33, 24 September 2019 (UTC)[reply]
Are you talking about the height x width? If so, I my step-by-step:
  • First, group all the objects together; after that, make sure the object is selected; then
  • Click "Object" on the toolbar; then
  • Click "Transform" (third from the bottom), the sidebar should pop-up; then
  • Click "Scale" and change "%" to "px", as well as check "Scale proportionately"; then
  • Type the height and width you want (on Wikipedia here, the file cannot be no bigger than 300x300; I usually keep the height at 250px); then
  • Click "File: on the toolbar, followed by "Document properties"; then
  • under "Customized size "Resize page to content", followed with "Resize page to drawing or selection"; then
  • I usually will add "two pixels" to the height and weight and then center the object (file) in the box.
Hope that helps! Corky 12:44, 24 September 2019 (UTC)[reply]
@Corkythehornetfan: no - the orginal filesize was 46kb - your edit results in a 40kb-file
i dont think the filesize will decrease if you only scale the vectors down
which filetype did you use for saving? inkscape-svg(devault), plain-svg or optimized-svg (if yes, which preferences did you use)? thx --Mrmw (talk) 12:57, 24 September 2019 (UTC)[reply]
I use optimized-svg. I merged some grouping too. Corky 13:07, 24 September 2019 (UTC)[reply]
@Corkythehornetfan: ah ok - if you are so skilled with inkscape why wouldnt you create the logo by yourself? --Mrmw (talk) 13:24, 24 September 2019 (UTC)[reply]
I wouldn’t call myself “skilled”... I can do the basics — change colors, sizes, etc. and can edit a vector file in a PDF, but converting jpgs or pngs is something I can’t do, not can I create a logo. I usually have trouble creating them, and I’ve watched several tutorials. Corky 13:35, 24 September 2019 (UTC)[reply]

University of Missouri colors[edit]

Hey, thanks again for fixing the University of Missouri School of Music logo. That talent is outside of my skill-set so I don't know what I'd do without people like you. I had a quick question about an edit you made on that page. You changed the hex value for the gold color in the infobox to something different than "MU Gold" hex value in the associated reference. This is not something I understand well and was curious to your reasoning? The other part of your edit just added some space which I assume is an aesthetic change. Thanks! Grey Wanderer (talk) 23:02, 27 June 2020 (UTC)[reply]

@Grey Wanderer: i changed the color according to the color in the svg-logo - should i change the logo to mu-gold to match the hex-values? --Mrmw (talk) 05:15, 28 June 2020 (UTC)[reply]
I don't have a good answer for you so I think hold off for now, thank you though. Grey Wanderer (talk) 22:49, 7 July 2020 (UTC)[reply]

For providing very quick and quality graphic work to those of us who lack that ability. Grey Wanderer (talk) 22:51, 7 July 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Very happy to see that you noticed my request for graphics. Will it be possible for you to help? It will be a big help indeed. I have no resources to fix the images. Thanks for noticing. I was getting a little fidgety, and hence requesting around. Aditya(talkcontribs) 15:56, 26 July 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Not interested? It would have been a great help. Trying the get the article to a GA status. Aditya(talkcontribs) 00:42, 31 July 2020 (UTC)[reply]
No, I am not interested. --Mrmw (talk) 05:49, 31 July 2020 (UTC)[reply]
Sigh! There are so few editors active in the Workshop... I really hoped... but, well, I understand. Still thanks for noticing. Aditya(talkcontribs) 01:56, 8 August 2020 (UTC)[reply]

February 2024[edit]

Information icon Hello. Thank you for your contributions to Wikipedia. I noticed that your recent edit to Template:Psychology sidebar did not have an edit summary. You can use the edit summary field to explain your reasoning for an edit, or to provide a description of what the edit changes. Summaries save time for other editors and reduce the chances that your edit will be misunderstood. For some edits, an adequate summary may be quite brief.

The edit summary field looks like this:

Edit summary (Briefly describe your changes)

Please provide an edit summary for every edit you make. With a Wikipedia account you can give yourself a reminder to add an edit summary by setting Preferences → Editing → check Prompt me when entering a blank edit summary, and then click the "Save" button. Thanks! – Jonesey95 (talk) 14:42, 23 February 2024 (UTC)[reply]

You have continued to edit without providing edit summaries after the above message was posted. Edit summaries are generally required by Wikipedia policy. – Jonesey95 (talk) 03:29, 25 February 2024 (UTC)[reply]
