Year of birth for Shlomo Carlebach
[edit]

Please see my response on the Talk:Shlomo Carlebach page. I am inclined to revert it to 1925. Please try to confirm, thanks.Demblin 14:50, 28 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you for telling me. I answered on Talk:Shlomo Carlebach. --MrsMyer 15:21, 9 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]

My pleasure to help out, I knew the two years of German I took in high school would pay off some day. Keep up the hard work and good luck! MDSNYDER 23:22, 12 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Bad Iburg[edit]

Good work on Bad Iburg! I exchanged the infobox for the new (but not yet fully implemented) {{Infobox German Location}}. This has the advantage that you can copy the infobox from German wikipedia, change the template name (Infobox Ort in Deutschland --> Infobox German Location) and ready (usually)! The map is automatically generated, using the given coordinates. Regards, Markussep 17:55, 20 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]

There's a few ways to link to pages in other languages' wikipedias. You probably know [[de:Bad Iburg]], which would create a link to the German article in the "in other languages" block. If you want to create a link in the text, use [[:de:Bad Iburg]]. This doesn't work for images BTW, only en: and commons work here. You have to upload the image to commons then. But you already have a link to your de: userpage, don't you? What you could do additionally is add a note, asking others to add comments to your de: talk page only. I don't think there's a way to add en: pages to a watchlist on de: wikipedia. Markussep 12:31, 23 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]

re: Adoption[edit]

Hi MrsMyer,

I see you're looking to be adopted. I've been around Wikipedia for a while and I can probably answer most questions you might have. I'd be happy to adopt you until you feel you know your way around. Let me know if you'd like my help or if you'd rather wait for a different adopter.

Thank you so much, Killing sparrows ;-). I presume I'm familiar with Wikipedia features from de:Wikipedia. I'm contributing not much to en:WP, mainly in english articles I have written for de. But as I know my english knowledge is limited especcially in grammar I feel I need somebody who is cleaning up my contributions. If you don't mind checking the mess now and then I'd be happy. By the way: You're from Alaska? I have been there ages ago, but only here, here to be precisely, not more than two hours on my way to the final destination. ;-) Regards from the old world and thanks a lot. --MrsMyer 11:04, 24 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Very good,

I'll change the 'adoption' box on your user page.

I think the best way to do this is to have a dedicated page for adopter/adoptee conversations and have created one here. I am on WP throughout the day and usually late into the night (I'm currently in GMT-8) so I should be able to respond pretty quickly when you have a question. I will probably look over your user page, talk page and contributions now and then just to see how you are doing but otherwise I'll wait for you to ask questions. Fire away!

I will be leaving for St Paul Island, Alaska in a few weeks but I grew up in Othello, Washington. I do lots of cleanup and copyedit here, so helping you with translation, at least smoothing out your translations, will be a good match for us.--killing sparrows (chirp!) 15:54, 24 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]

New page[edit]

Hi MrsMyer, I've created a new page for our talks, please add it to your watch list. Thanks!--killing sparrows (chirp!) 10:18, 27 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Wikibreak notice[edit]

Hi There Mrsmyer,

I will be on break for a week while travelling to Saint Paul Island, Alaska. I hope all is going well! If you need help while I am offwiki please go to the WP:ADOPT talk page. Cheers!--killing sparrows (chirp!) 18:01, 5 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Hi,
You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. If you wish to participate, you are welcome to review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page.
