Area codes[edit]

I've heard of others from throughout the world refer to the numbers they add to their base phone number as area code. I think it's more universal than just the US and Canada. The article on telephone numbers in the UK uses the term "area code" in several places throughout. It is not a completely US/Canada term. So the article title should be specific. And please sign your posts. Thanks. --User:Woohookitty Diamming fool! 04:22, 27 June 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Request reason:

Sock puppetry clearly discriminate against users that share internet/computers with other wiki users. I am not responsible for what they do. Just because we share access does not constitute sock puppetry. I should not be labeled a sock puppet or punished for what another user in my household does.

Decline reason:

Your excuse doesn't explain the evidence presented at your sockpuppetry case. —DoRD (?) (talk) 00:19, 11 February 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Request reason:

Sock puppetry criteria clearly discriminates against users that share internet/computers with other wiki users. I am not responsible for what they do. Just because we share access does not constitute sock puppetry. I should not be labeled a sock puppet or punished for what another user in my household does. I joined in on a discussion board in which I felt strongly about. A roommate of mine User:PhilthyBear was also was involved in this discussion. Because we share the same internet access and often the same computers, I was wrongfully accused of sock puppetry. The accuser accused me of sock puppetry due to personal ill feelings toward User:PhilthyBear. As I stated I am not responsible for his actions, and the criteria for sock puppetry discriminate against me due to sharing internet access with them. My edit rights should be reinstated due to my countless and constructive edits. I should not be punished for someone else's actions.

Decline reason:

My daughter edits from the same computers that I do. I recognized the potential problem fairly early and consulted with a checkuser about it. After that, I disclosed the fact on my userpage and intentionally stayed away from articles that she edits. That is the behavior of someone who is being conscientious about having multiple accounts with the same IP. Compare this with your situation, where you have multiple accounts with the same IP that inexplicably jump to your rescue right when you need them to. That combined with your reluctance to disclose the roommate story until after you had been confronted with it make me very reluctant to believe you. The problem is that we just have no way of knowing what's truth and what isn't. I'm going to err on the side of caution and refrain from unblocking you at this time. A few months down the road, with a promise that there will only be a single editor from your IP, I might reevaluate. Trusilver 03:32, 11 February 2010 (UTC)[reply]
