WikiProject India Tag & Assess 2012 Contest

Hello friends, we are a number of editors from WikiProject India have got together to assess the many thousands of articles under the stewardship of the project, and we'd love to have you, a fellow member, join us. These articles require assessment, that is, the addition of a WikiProject template to the talk page of an article, assessing it for quality and importance and adding a few extra parameters to it.

As of March 11, 2012, 07:00 UTC, WikiProject India has 95,998 articles under its stewardship. Of these 13,980 articles are completely unassessed (both for class and importance) and another 42,415 articles are unassessed for importance only. Accordingly, a Tag & Assess 2012 drive-cum-contest has begun from March 01, 2012 to last till May 31, 2012.

If you are new to assessment, you can learn the minimum about how to evaluate from Part One of the Assessment Guide. Part Two of the Guide will help you learn to employ the full functionality of the talk page template, should you choose to do so.

You can sign up on the Tag & Assess page. There are a number of awards to be given in recognition of your efforts. Come & join us to take part in this exciting new venture. You'll learn more about India in this way.

Wikimedia Stories Project

Hello,

My name is Victor Grigas, and I'm a storyteller at the Wikimedia foundation. We're telling stories of Wikipedia users, editors, donors, programmers and staff to paint a picture of who uses Wikipedia - for the 2011 fundraiser.

I am in the process of planning a trip to India to gather stories from Indian Wikipedians in face-to-face interviews (possibly on video).

My primary goal is to conduct 15-20 interviews, and hopefully enough of my interviews will make compelling stories that will effectively solicit donations from the public. These stories may also be used for other communication purposes by the foundation.

I found your userpage on a list of prolific Wikipedians and thought I’d reach out to you. Prolific editing is always a good story to tell!

I Want to Contribute More

Hey Bro.

I want to contribute more and more I can. But yesterday I created a page named Zephyr : Cultural Fest of Orissa Engineering College, which is the Cultural Fest of Orissa Engineering College, Bhubaneswar, Odisha, India. The Institute is the first technical institute of Eastern-India and its Fest named above is the Host to many inter-college competitions. This year the institute is going to celebrate its Silver Jubilee. Many prominent figures have visited the Institute. Last year Bollywood's pop singer Mika Singh has also performed in the Fest.

The point is that soon after I created the page It was deleted by some nerds citing Not importance. My point is If the Fest of IIT Kharagpur (named Spring Fest), IIT Bhubaneswar (named Alma Fiesta) and many more can have a place in Wikipedia, then why not mine. Please respond me as soon possible.

Some help needed. The NH 200 is now upgraded to NH49 by the Govt. of India. So some changes are needed in updating the data.

The National Highway connecting Chattishgarh Capital Raipur and Chandikhole somewhere in Odisha intersecting the NH 5 is now upgraded to NH 49 from NH 200 By the Govt. of India. The information available in the Wikipedia about the national highways in INDIA needs to be updated with the new data. The NH 49 is now NH 85 and I really don't know about the NH 85 upgradation. Article about Radha Thomas

I am currently working on the Wiki page for Ms Radha Thomas. She is an Indian jazz singer and songwriter. In fact, she is known as a diva in the Indian jazz scene. She previously was with the band Human Bondage and has sung and performed globally. The article is still under development. I haven't completed it or submitted it for review yet. Wiki Loves Monuments

Hi Naveen,

This is Manan from Mumbai. Was updating the list of monuments in India and saw u have worked on Kerala Monuments.

Just wanted to ask - U have just included 26 monuments. Why is so? Since kerala would have a lot of other monuments in the interior.

What is the BallPark or say benchmark that you have used here?
