Fitchburg Line Template[edit]

Sorry for the confusion there; I somehow failed to grasp that you were switching the icon names for standardization. Looks great now. Cheers! Pi.1415926535 (talk) 05:14, 3 April 2011 (UTC)[reply]

It's alright, don't worry about that. I've met some resistance from a bot on the French Wikipedia when I tried to do so, but it still turned out to be ok afterwards. :) NoNews! 05:25, 3 April 2011 (UTC)[reply]

IP block exempt[edit]

I have granted your account an exemption from IP blocking. This will allow you to edit through full blocks affecting your IP address when you are logged in.

Please read the page Wikipedia:IP block exemption carefully, especially the section on IP block exemption conditions.

Note in particular that you are not permitted to use this newly-granted right to edit Wikipedia via anonymous proxies, or disruptively. If you do, or there is a serious concern of abuse, then the right may be removed by any administrator.

Appropriate usage and compliance with the policy may be checked periodically, due to the nature of block exemption, and block exemption will be removed when no longer needed (for example, when the block it is related to expires).

I hope this will enhance your editing, and allow you to edit successfully and without disruption. Daniel Case (talk) 06:03, 3 July 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Template:Zhang Wuji's family tree[edit]

Hi, can you add Chaghan Temür (察罕特穆兒) and Köke Temür (擴廓帖木兒) on Template:Zhang Wuji's family tree? I have trouble doing it. Thanks--NeoBatfreak (talk) 00:41, 12 December 2011 (UTC)[reply]

It's done now. :) NoNews! 04:07, 12 December 2011 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks. Also, can you do the same thing on Template:Yang Kang and Mu Nianci's family tree, that Bao Xiruo's name with Wanyan Honglie's, since she remarried before she reunites with Yang Tiexin? Sorry, I am still new at this family tree template, and thanks again--NeoBatfreak (talk) 05:16, 12 December 2011 (UTC).[reply]
Thanks again.--NeoBatfreak (talk) 18:37, 12 December 2011 (UTC)[reply]
Hi, it's NeoBatfreak again. On the template you've created, Template:Guo Jing and Huang Rong's family tree, shouldn't Wu Lie and Wu Qingying be part of it as well, since they are the descendants of Wu Xiuwen and Wanyan Ping?--NeoBatfreak (talk) 21:38, 12 December 2011 (UTC)[reply]
Well, you can say that, but I doubt if it is relevant, for the two appear in another book as very minor characters not linked to any of Guo Jing's other descendants. But if you do want to add them, you can use the Template:Familytree to your guidance. NoNews! 05:31, 13 December 2011 (UTC)[reply]
Same thing with the Yellow Dress Maiden, she's appeared just a few chapters on the book yet she's relevant in her family tree. I still say they should. The book also mentioned that Wu Lie have learned fractions of the martial arts originated from Hong Qigong, despites hainvg no blood relation, he still a part of Guo Jing's legacy. I tried to add them, but still having trouble doing so--NeoBatfreak (talk) 19:21, 13 December 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Category:Jin Yong characters' family trees[edit]

Hi, the next time you create a family tree involving Jin Yong's characters, use this subcategory Category:Jin Yong characters' family trees of the Category:Fictional family trees. Your previous catagory on Guo Jing's family made it seems like they were real.--NeoBatfreak (talk) 20:53, 13 December 2011 (UTC)[reply]

I appreciate your work on metro lines and stations, a subject of interest to me also. But each article must have at least one reliable source--it can be in any language. When you are writing the articles you probably have a list or document of some sort in front of you providing the information, so please tell us each time what it is. You can do it much better atthe time than anyone can do it subsequently. DGG ( talk ) 05:55, 23 July 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Response[edit]

Office 07 re-directs to Office 2007 because 07 is a shortening for 2007; this is valid if it starts with a 0 because numbers don't normally start with 0. Notice the difference between Office 07 and Office 7. Georgia guy (talk) 14:19, 31 December 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Yes, I understand this point, but you have still not answered the question whether Office 13 should direct to Office 2013. There is no Office #13, and since the introduction of Office 2013, many sites and forums have simply referred to it as its shortened form, Office 13. If the numbering is meant to be 12, 13, 14... with 13 simply renamed due to superstition (for example, you have floors 12, 12A, 14 in buildings), then so be it, redirect Office 13 to Office 2010, the edition after Office #12. But no, the numbering skips 13 completely (12, 14, 15...). Office 14 now refers to Office 2010, and Office 13 now means something else, so I do not understand why the new redirect PLUS a header at the Office 2010 article is inappropriate. Alternatively we can always ask on the discussion board for other editors' opinions. NoNews! 05:30, 1 January 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Hi,
You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. Red Rising[edit]

Hi, thanks for acknowledging here that the plot summary you added to Red Rising was "partially modified from red-rising.wikia.com". However, as it was not rewritten enough from that site's content, much of it was a copyright violation and should not have been added to Wikipedia at all. I've copyedited it enough to be (I believe) acceptable, but I wanted to caution you about that sort of thing for the future. Thanks again.— TAnthonyTalk 23:50, 18 February 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Nice. Thanks for your help with the editing and additions to the list of main characters as well. I didn't expect too much problems on the copyvio issue (then again, the other site is a wiki as well), and thank you for taking time to fix it up rather than report the issue and get the content deleted.
Now that the article is more or less completed and polished, I guess congratulations are in order? Any plans to take on the next two? ;) NoNews! 02:16, 19 February 2016 (UTC)[reply]
I'm writing a plot summary for Morning Star as I read it (actually I'm listening to it on audiobook when I'm at the gym, so it's taking longer LOL), but I will probably have to reread Golden Son to write something decent. Help with translation[edit]

Hello Newfraferz87,

I found your user page by chance in the German language Wikipedia and read that you are coming from Shanghai. I am looking for someone who is able to read simplified Chinese characters. Could you please help me with this? It would only be a set of relatively few characters.

I would like to convert the following JPG file to SVG: File:Map-Qing_Dynasty_1820.jpg. I largely managed to do this but there are some problems left where I could not properly identify the text:

  • the upper left corner (numbered 1 to 8),
  • the four inscriptions North of the Qing border (原 ...),
  • the heading in the lower left corner (1820年 ...) + the line labelled "C: 1758年 ..." in the lower left corner
  • the legend in the lower right corner.

Would it be possible for you to provide me with the Chinese characters (translation is not necessary) of these passages? This would be a great help.

It has the authority to impose binding solutions to disputes between editors, primarily for serious conduct disputes the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the authority to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail.
