Dirty Show Deletion[edit]

You deleted the Dirty Show as the claim that it was the biggest art show in Detroit did not have proof. The major alternative weekly in Detroit called that (or something to that effect).

The original Dirty Show entry was on Wikipedia for some time- i belive an artist added this and selected themselves to highlight as well. I run the Dirty Show and we as an organization have not added anything to it (or put it up to begin with).

We do get about 2,000 patrons a night and are considered the largest erotic ART exhibition in the world- but there is no standards for who is largest - we have the most sold out days, and opened in Zurich, Sydney and Vancouver in addition to Detroit last year. You can reach me at mrvile@live.com

I only carried out the deletion; the article was nominated for proposed deletion by Rhomb (talk · contribs) and I deleted it after seven days had passed without objection. I have no particular inherent objections to the article, and I'll restore it if you like—just ask. I can't promise that it won't be deleted again, but I can advise you on the subject if you'd like. {{Nihiltres|talk|edits}} 03:48, 20 December 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Deletion of Taylor Massey Project[edit]

Can you please restore this article or provide some explanation about the reason it was deleted. The TMP is referred to in other Wiki articles that are similarly and added pertinent information about the Creek.

Meat Loaf is not on Slash's album[edit]

According to Slash himself, Meat Loaf won't appear on his album Slash & Friends.

Source: Slash's twitter, December 21, 2009.

Thanks.

Sorry, I don't remember making the rollback you seem to be referencing. I must have made that action by mistake. Please accept my apologies for the inappropriate action. I've made a dummy edit to the article in question to record that idea, by edit summary, in the page history. {{Nihiltres|talk|edits}} 05:56, 22 December 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Please restore this article deleted as prod; claim that's non-notable is silly, and the prodder didn't bother with a simple search. He's also involved in an ArbCom case because of his deletions. Here's a ref for the notability of that article. Thanks, Pcap ping 12:01, 26 December 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Looks like the article has already been undeleted; I would have done so had it not been complete already. Cheers, {{Nihiltres|talk|edits}} 20:05, 26 December 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Please restore the article - I haven't finished it yet. And yes, I'm not around regularly, my book takes precedence over Wikipedia editing. UrbanTerrorist (talk) 02:50, 28 December 2009 (UTC)[reply]

==Proposed deletion of FilKONtario
Ambox warning yellow.svg

The article FilKONtario has been proposed for deletion. The proposed-deletion notice added to the article should explain why.

While all contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, content or articles may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{dated prod}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Removing {{dated prod}} will stop the Proposed Deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. The Speedy Deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and Articles for Deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. UnitedStatesian (talk) 20:46, 18 October 2009 (UTC)==

Pardon, but this really helps, when I cannot see what the complaint was.

I've restored the article. Enjoy! :) {{Nihiltres|talk|edits}} 03:29, 28 December 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Clue test for new editors?[edit]

<humor>

Instead of captchas, for new users creating new articles, maybe we should give them a quiz:

  • "Articles in Wikipedia should be (check all that apply):
    A. Verifiable and well-referenced.
    B. About notable topics.
    C. Contain the web site of my company/boss's company/mom's company
    D. Be about someone, some company, or some band nobody outside of a 100-mile radius has ever heard of."

If the editor doesn't check A and B and un-check C and D, the article is not saved.

As much as I find this amusing, I can't help but thinking that the idea's got potential. {{Nihiltres|talk|edits}} 00:27, 7 January 2010 (UTC)[reply]
It might actually be useful it it were presented in a humorous way, where the answer was obvious. The idea is if an honest editor not bent on gaming the system knows what the basic rules are before creating the page, he's more likely to say "oh wait, maybe I shouldn't waste an hour of my life writing that article about my best friend's garage band after all." davidwr/(talk)/(contribs)/(e-mail) 01:03, 7 January 2010 (UTC)[reply]

You deleted that (properly). Was wondering if you could restore it to User:SMcCandlish/Kimps with history. Someone at NFT talk thinks there's enough source material available to salvage this. I don't have any particular interest in it myself, but as one of the active members of WP:GAMES I figure I might as well see if I can do something with it to make it AFD-survivable. Deviates[edit]

Please bring back the article on the punk band called Deviates. I think they are very important in early 2000s punk rock. 70.44.168.186 (talk) 20:39, 7 January 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Brad Champion[edit]

You deleted the article about Brad Champion. You had absolutly NO reason to do this for the fact of it was ALL true and is relevant because he is an up and comming american actor and has acted along side of Miley Cyrus, Liam Hemsworth, Greg Kinnear and many others. His first film that he is in comes out in theatres april 2nd 2010! Please restore or if not please direct to who ever you answer to so I can write up a report and fight this. I see you have deleted many pages for no reason the people see to think. If people are putting them up and they are legitimate then they must be important to the person or people so why delete. You "are a college student" and just dont know to handle your power properly and are abusing it. Hopefully you relize tghe error of your ways. THANKS!

Drumexpert510 (talk) 23:13, 7 January 2010 (UTC)[reply]

I deleted the article under criterion A7 for speedy deletion, and indicated that very clearly in the deletion log, so I have no idea why you're convinced I "had absolutly [sic] NO reason". What's relevant is verifiability. Show me some reliable sources describing him as you do. There's no barrier to recreating the article. Try doing so and citing sources nicely and the article won't be deleted. If you want, I can even provide you with the content of the deleted article, either by emailing it to you or userfying it. Just ask! I can be very helpful!
If you're going to accuse me of abusing my power, please have something to back up your assertion with. The assertion that I'm a college student* is invalid as an ad hominem argument, and I've already addressed the reason for the deletion, so arguments that I'm unjustified also fail. (*This assertion is also awkward because, here in Quebec, "college" tends to be associated with CEGEP. Where does it say I'm a "college" student?)
If you want to ask somewhere else, feel free to ask for a review over at deletion review. As far as I'm aware, it would be the first of mine to be listed there, after over 12,000 deletions. :) {{Nihiltres|talk|edits}} 02:14, 8 January 2010 (UTC)[reply]

yes please email it to me...

wbchampi@eagle.fgcu.edu

oh and here is a quote from your bio sheet (where it says your ARE a college student):

"I am a science student living in Pointe Claire, on the island of Montreal. As I am a student, it's possible to guess at my age: I would discourage people from doing so, because I wish to be ageless on Wikipedia, being judged instead on the quality of my contributions and the cogency of arguments which I put forth."

75.92.121.219 (talk) 14:36, 18 January 2010 (UTC)[reply]

I'll email you late tonight (03:00 UTC-ish?) if I can remember. Oh, and it says that I'm a "student", not a "college student", but you've missed my point if you're trying to disprove me, since my point, both there and here, is that my age is immaterial. {{Nihiltres|talk|edits}} 17:23, 18 January 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Michael Mind deletion[edit]

michael mind is a good dj you sick fuck. undelete it or face the wrath of my lawyers LOL!!!!

Did I ever say he wasn't? :)
The article was deleted by proposed deletion, so I deleted it entirely because no one objected for a whole week after it was nominated (by someone other than me) for the reason I quoted in the deletion summary visible at the deleted article. If anyone had objected at all, the article would not have been deleted.
As it stands, you can still get it undeleted. All that I ask is that you make the request nicely, without implied legal threats or random LOLs …OK, the random LOLs are fine. :) {{Nihiltres|talk|edits}} 21:26, 9 January 2010 (UTC)[reply]

I thought I would point out someone has gone to the effort of resurrecting the 2009 Toronto Blackout in the form of a new article 2009 Toronto blackout. I agree with your rationale for deleting the original and would support a afd for the new one. eja2k 00:46, 13 January 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Rhenium[edit]

A Japanese chemist isolated element 75 in 1908, and named it nipponium. The "official" discovery, when it was named rhenium, was in 1925, 17 years later. The first person to successfully isolate an element has the right to officially name that element. --J4\/4 <talk> 20:58, 13 January 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Wikipedia isn't the place to advocate that. For better or for worse, the world knows that element as "rhenium". You'd do better to complain to IUPAC, but I suspect you're a century late. Sorry, nothing I can do. {{Nihiltres|talk|edits}} 01:36, 14 January 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Question about deletion[edit]

Hello, just wanted to get a little more info about how to get our page un-deleted, or find out more about how to keep a page active without getting deleted in the future. The only note we have about this is "20:46, 22 October 2009 Nihiltres (talk | contribs) deleted "Daptiv" ‎ (Expired PROD, concern was: Non-notable business making non-consumer products. References supplied are to category listings on the Gartner's investment site, or inclusions on lists of similar products at the Wall Street […])"

Daptiv Wiki page: http://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Special%3ALog&type=delete&user=&page=Daptiv&year=&month=-1&tagfilter=

We ideally would like the site to be up and active and become an educational portal for internal purposes, educational seminars, industry explanation, etc. You can see an example of this at Jive Software's page (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jive_Software).

Thanks for the help.

Any thoughts here? Could really use your help... thanks!

Proposed deletions are undeleted on request, so I've undeleted Daptiv. Since you seem to be from the company, let me also point you to Wikipedia's guideline on conflicts of interest. {{Nihiltres|talk|edits|⚡}} 21:22, 2 February 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks for the guidelines here, appreciate the help.

I was the one on Yahoo Answers[edit]

Hi Nihiltes! I need your help cleaning up an article about an little know actress calledAlexandra Powers. I need to put 2 references in her article. One of the references is for because it says in the article "She is an active member of the Church of Scientology." I have the link right here:http://www.truthaboutscientology.com/stats/by-name/a/alexandra-powers.html It also says in the article "She is married to fellow Sea Org member Gavin Potter (a Canadian citizen) and both work at the Freewinds (FSSO) liaison office in Los Angeles." I have the link right here that could be used a a reference: http://ocmb.xenu.net/ocmb/viewtopic.php?t=24302. thanks! Neptunekh2 (talk) 18:56, 29 January 2010 (UTC)[reply]

I would recommend that you not use the xenu.net forum link, since forums are generally not reliable sources. The other source might be acceptable, but I still find it questionable. You're not making it easy on yourself by starting out writing on Scientology, as it's a rather controversial topic. :/
If you really want to use it, the code to add it, including the outer ref tags, would be the following:
<ref name="tassp">{{cite web |url= http://www.truthaboutscientology.com/stats/by-name/a/alexandra-powers.html |title= Alexandra Powers - Scientology Service Completions |first= Kristi |last= Wachter |date= 2008-03-06 |work= Truth About Scientology Statistics Project |accessdate= 2010-01-30}}</ref>
I've included a reference name so that if you use it multiple times in an article, the second and further times can simply use the code <ref name="tassp" /> instead of copying the whole thing over. Cheers, {{Nihiltres|talk|edits|⚡}} 17:28, 30 January 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Footer changes[edit]

You may as well add it back, as I found out just a minute ago the 'Contact us' split list thing is broken on everything but monobook anyway, so either way there is going to be a format problem. Prodego talk 05:32, 31 January 2010 (UTC)[reply]

I think I'd prefer outputting correct HTML over what will hopefully be a temporary layout problem. I'm looking for a way to fix it properly across all skins. {{Nihiltres|talk|edits|⚡}} 05:44, 31 January 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Well that's broken anyway: [1]. But if you can get them to fix it that would be great. Prodego talk 05:53, 31 January 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Actually, this should be valid, no? Prodego talk 06:00, 31 January 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Yes, that should be valid. Let's leave it at that for now, and I'll try and get some dev attention starting tomorrow morning. The current implementation of the footer "Contact us" link is really hackish, and the empty ul tags in Vector is certainly a bug. I think it should be relatively trivial to ask for a fix that makes the footer "Contact us" more standard. {{Nihiltres|talk|edits|⚡}} 06:10, 31 January 2010 (UTC)[reply]
I suspect a Mediawiki:Footer message containing $1 $2 $3 for the existing links, and then the ability to add more would be the ideal solution. Prodego talk 06:17, 31 January 2010 (UTC)[reply]
I agree; that's the sort of solution I was going to ask for. If you're going to be awake for the next while, feel free to make the request yourself; I'm slowly trying to ease myself away from the myriad things I can do, as it's past 1 a.m. local time and I really ought to sleep. :p {{Nihiltres|talk|edits|⚡}} 06:26, 31 January 2010 (UTC)[reply]

I need to add a third reference on the Alexandra Powers article[edit]

Hi Nihiltres! It's neptunekh2. I need to add the link from the Xenu forum: http://ocmb.xenu.net/ocmb/viewtopic.php?t=24302 because it says in the article "She is married to fellow Sea Org member Gavin Potter (a Canadian citizen) and both work at the Freewinds (FSSO) liaison office in Los Angeles." And it needs a reference How do I word the reference? Thanks!Neptunekh2 (talk) 02:55, 3 February 2010 (UTC)[reply]

As I said earlier, I don't think that that site constitutes a reliable reference, being a forum and (for all that I'm sympathetic to this) biased against Scientologists. I think you need to find something else to substantiate that claim. If you really find it necessary, go try {{cite web}}, but I think it's likely a waste of time in the long run. {{Nihiltres|talk|edits|⚡}} 18:31, 13 February 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Lee Zehrer Deletion[edit]

Hello,

I would like you to revert the Lee Zehrer page so that I can add more relevant information and make edits to improve the article. I'm not sure how this works, but could you please send me the content from this listing?

Thank you,

Nicholas Peterson wakewestcoast@yahoo.com

Sure, I'll email you the content of the article soon. You can recreate it if you want (just please make sure that it does not qualify for any criterion for speedy deletion), but please let me know if you end up not starting from scratch, as I'd then have to undelete the old content to appropriately credit the authors of the currently-deleted article. {{Nihiltres|talk|edits|⚡}} 18:31, 13 February 2010 (UTC)[reply]
