Non-free infobox images

Hey. I thought it had been largely agreed upon that we use screencaps and promo stills instead of promotional photoshoot images of actors? Arre 06:18, 22 April 2013 (UTC)

It's not continuous

Look, it's not continous for the actors, they quit playing the character on January 13, 2012, they started playing them again on Monday, that is not continous, the show ended, the actors who have been on the original series and than swtiched over to the revival, the quit playing it for a year, consecutive or not, it looks like they were playing them all this time, I don't know where you discussed this at, but the truth is, the way I had it it's the right way. P.J. (talk) 07:39, 3 May 2013 (UTC)

Forgive me for interjecting here, but I must agree with PJ. It was the result of several discussions (most recently this one), that if there was a whole year between appearances, the durations would be listed separately. It's not like the characters were just off screen for a couple months, the series ended, it was cancelled. It was later on rebooted as a web show based on the original series.Caringtype1 (talk) 19:07, 3 May 2013 (UTC)

Hi there, Nk3play2. I would like to advise you that speculation and spoilers really shouldn't be included in Wikipedia articles; specifically in Tyler's article, where it states that, "In May 2013, spoilers indicate that Tyler would take interest in another woman when he accepts that a relationship with Lily may not happen". This is really just speculation, which violates WP:CRYSTALBALL. The source can still be used, but spoilers really shouldn't be a source of information. Unless something is definite and confirmed, speculation/spoilers really shouldn't be used in articles. I would suggest removing that sentence completely until something new is definite and confirmed about Tyler and Lily's interaction. Creativity97 21:36, 29 May 2013 (UTC)

(talk page stalker) Sorry to interrupt. Nk3play2, I don't want to be picky or anything, but I think there is a bit of an issue with the Tyler article. The rate that it is growing is a bit concerning considering he is still considerably new (less than 6 and a half months old). I think it needs to be condensed. Especially the Lily section and all of the fan opinions. It's not exactly encyclopedic, maybe a bit of a sum-up of viewer opinions, but no need to say their names. The article is really great but it should be shorter. I also agree with Creativity that spoilers are unacceptable. I just thought I'd tell you this instead of going in and doing anything myself considering you are an avid editor of the article Arre 06:07, 30 May 2013 (UTC)
Sorry to bombard you with suggestions or advisories, however, I also wanted to tell you that just because Joshua Morrow confirmed in an interview that Jack will be revealed as Summer's true father doesn't mean we can go and change everything in the character's infoboxes. It's better to wait until this plays out onscreen as watching the series is the greatest source of all. Creativity97 02:54, 31 May 2013 (UTC)

Hello, Nk3play2. I have a question concerning the edit you made to Victor's article saying that Victor and Diane's initial divorce was finalized in February 1999. It was previously established in the article that their divorce was finalized in 2000. Did you watch The Young and the Restless back when this took place? I didn't, therefore I do not know. Or, did you read this from a character profile on a soap website? If so, and if it was from Soap Central or She Knows Soaps, then character information taken from these websites cannot be used as they're considered unreliable. Or, did you find this information from a YouTube video, or a storyline archive? The reason I'm asking is the Victor Newman article is currently being worked on, and I would just like to have some consistency, because it had stated elsewhere in the article that their divorce was finalized in 2000. If you could let me know as soon as possible, by responding here or on my talk page, it would be gladly appreciated. Thank you! Regards, Creativity97 01:24, 21 June 2013 (UTC)

Hey Nk3play2. Great work on this article so far. However, I had to make some fixes for the sake of the article. I hope you don't mind. But I thought I'd leave you some tips on how to organize the article for future references:

  • "Background" is just the backstory of storylines, no need to have it anywhere other than in storylines.
  • Having the first section titled "Creation" or "Conception" followed by characterization or such was the previous way articles were organized. Now, it's just casting, and everything else goes into the development section (characterization, relationships, etc.), followed by storylines and reception.
  • Try not to use quotes from viewers from soap magazines in reception; Wikipedia is not a fansite so viewers' opinions posted in magazines aren't acceptable (you may not have done this on Jack's article, but I noticed you had done this on Summer Newman so I just wanted to advise you.)
  • When titling sections about friendships, relationships or rivalries, don't title it "Jack's rivalries", just say "Rivalries". The article is about Jack so saying "Jack" in the title isn't really needed.

Again, fantastic work on this article! I'm sorry to bombard you with suggestions and that I made some fixes to the article, hopefully they didn't mess up your thought process. Keep up the great work! Regards, Creativity97 15:32, 15 July 2013 (UTC)

Comments

I was wondering if you review my featured list article (Wikipedia:Featured list candidates/Daytime Emmy Award for Outstanding Lead Actress in a Drama Series/archive1)? Please, it will be greatly appreciated! SoapFan12 21:56, 16 July 2013 (UTC)

Article setup and writing style

Hi again Nk3play2. I just wanted to remind you of something again. To keep consistency (at least with Y&R articles), we set up articles as follows:

  • Casting: All and any casting type information.
  • Development: This can include characterization, relationships, and any other storylines that the character has had that has garnered notability and information.
  • Storylines: The character's storylines.
  • Reception: How the character has been received by critics.

I am reminding you of this because I see that you had set up a couple of pages with a "Creation" section first, with background, casting and characterization sections. "Background" sections are really unneeded, because it's mostly either casting info or how the character was introduced, which can be included in casting. As I said, Casting is its own section, and Characterization goes in Development. To keep consistency with Y&R articles, can you please set articles up like this? It's just out of order and different to have all articles one way, and then a few that have a completely different way. Also, I wanted to advise you about your writing style in articles. For example, on Tyler Michaelson, you say that Williams feels the character has a good heart, then the sentence ends and a quote begins. The way it flows in the article sounds like a magazine or a conducted interview. Perhaps instead of that, you could write: "Williams said that he feels Tyler has a good heart, stating: ..." Just some suggestions, as if you should ever plan on taking this article to the next level these changes will have to be made. If you could reply either here or on my talk page in regards to keeping Y&R articles consistent, it would be gladly appreciated! Thanks! Regards, Creativity97 22:06, 21 July 2013 (UTC)
