2070s

Before creating new year articles, contact WP:WikiProject Years. You must create an entire decade; your sort keys are damaged (see, for example 2060 for the correct keys), and Islam exceeding Christianity is assigned to the decade 2070s, not the year 2070. Sorry, please proceed. Only one of the 2070 entries is clearly wrong; I've removed it and fixed the categories. Please look at the categories now in 2070–2075 to see what needs to be done. Abandoned, Svalbard

I see that you have created this article; it is linked from List of settlements in Svalbard and Jan Mayen, also created by you, and neither article cites any references. So I wonder: Is "Abandoned" the real name of the settlement (it doesn't sound like a Norwegian name), or is it caused by misunderstanding of "Abandoned [settlement]" as "Abandoned" being the actual name? - Mike Rosoft (talk) 16:09, 13 June 2017 (UTC)

This is the actual name (in the sense that Olonkin City is the actual name of the settlement on Jan Mayen): you can check on Google Maps. And why would a list need any references? — Preceding unsigned comment added by Numberguy6 (talk • contribs)

Well, the thing is: it doesn't appear on Google Maps or any other online map I checked. (A list doesn't necessarily require references, but it is expected that the articles linked from it have references.) - Mike Rosoft (talk) 16:29, 13 June 2017 (UTC)

Which doesn't actually prove that the location exists; maps (including Google Maps) may contain mistakes and even deliberate fictitious entries (as copyright traps). Compare the case of Argleton. I have converted the proposed deletion to a full deletion debate here: Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Abandoned, Svalbard; as I have written there, I suspect that it is a phantom settlement. - Mike Rosoft (talk) 17:40, 13 June 2017 (UTC)

However, it'd have been better if you added blue links to existing articles, e.g. Kanchanaburi Province instead of Province of Kanchanaburi (or create redirects for the new red links). i'd noticed that, and my plan was, since it relies on the {{title year}} parameter, which gets 4 characters, i was going to either make a new template or modify the existing one to get the string from the category title. also i'm pretty sure I wrote in an exception to check if it's a multiple of 100, since standard operating procedure is to put those years in a different category (i.e., 1500 would go in the 15th century, with 1401-1499). thanks for the help btw spiderjerky (talk)

Google Code-In, Google-organized contest in which the Wikimedia Foundation participates, starts in a few weeks. This contest is about taking high school students into the world of opensource. I'm sending you this message because you recently edited a documentation page at the English Wikipedia.

That's because all of the Friday events have already happened. We don't know exactly what will happen on Saturday yet because it hasn't happened.

The way to think about it is that the Sidebar contains:

The individual days contain:

Country X had its first case
Country Y had its first death
Country Z imposed a travel ban
