If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on Folly Wildlife Rescue Trust requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G12 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article or image appears to be a clear copyright infringement. For legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted text or images borrowed from other web sites or printed material, and as a consequence, your addition will most likely be deleted. You may use external websites as a source of information, but not as a source of sentences. This part is crucial: say it in your own words. Wikipedia takes copyright violations very seriously and persistent violators will be blocked from editing.

If the external website or image belongs to you, and you want to allow Wikipedia to use the text or image — which means allowing other people to modify it — then you must verify that externally by one of the processes explained at Wikipedia:Donating copyrighted materials. If you are not the owner of the external website or image but have permission from that owner, see Wikipedia:Requesting copyright permission. You might want to look at Wikipedia's policies and guidelines for more details, or ask a question here.

If you think that the page was nominated in error, contest the nomination by clicking on the button labelled "Click here to contest this speedy deletion" in the speedy deletion tag. Doing so will take you to the talk page where you can explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. You can also visit the page's talk page directly to give your reasons, but be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be removed without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but do not hesitate to add information that is consistent with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. A tag has been placed on Folly Wildlife Rescue Trust requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about an organization or company, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such articles may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable.

If you think that the page was nominated in error, contest the nomination by clicking on the button labelled "Click here to contest this speedy deletion" in the speedy deletion tag. If the axe falls[edit]

which it probably will, I'm willing to restore the article into your user space for further work. No, I don't think you can get away with the educational institution one - that's schools, colleges and universities. It's a question of primary function. A school might rescue the odd hedgehog, but it's not what they are there for. It's what you are there for, though. Your visits to schools are a sideline to the hedgehog repair workshops. Read WP:RS - that's the key to survival here. I'll give you a couple of names who are good at rescuing articles. User:MelanieN is great at it, but might be a bit busy with something at the moment. User:Tokyogirl79 is new to my rescuers, but I've seen some very good referencing work from her. Good luck. Peridon (talk) 21:54, 10 February 2013 (UTC)[reply]

February 2013[edit]

Hello, Nunnsofunky. We welcome your contributions to Wikipedia, but if you are affiliated with some of the people, places or things you have written about in the article Folly Wildlife Rescue Trust, you may need to consider our guidance on conflicts of interest.

All editors are required to comply with Wikipedia's neutral point of view content policy. People who are very close to a subject often have a distorted view of it, which may cause them to inadvertently edit in ways that make the article either too flattering or too disparaging. People with a close connection to a subject are not absolutely prohibited from editing about that subject, but they need to be especially careful about ensuring their edits are verified by reliable sources and writing with as little bias as possible.

If you are very close to a subject, here are some ways you can reduce the risk of problems:

  • Avoid or exercise great caution when editing or creating articles related to you, your organization, or its competitors, as well as projects and products they are involved with.
  • Be cautious about deletion discussions. Everyone is welcome to provide information about independent sources in deletion discussions, but avoid advocating for deletion of articles about your competitors.
  • Avoid linking to the Wikipedia article or website of your organization in other articles (see Wikipedia:Spam).
  • Exercise great caution so that you do not accidentally breach Wikipedia's content policies.

Please familiarize yourself with relevant content policies and guidelines, especially those pertaining to neutral point of view, verifiability of information, and autobiographies.

For information on how to contribute to Wikipedia when you have a conflict of interest, please see our frequently asked questions for organizations. Thank you. Cabe6403 (TalkSign) 08:41, 11 February 2013 (UTC)[reply]

COI Notice - Folly Wildlife Rescue[edit]

I do indeed have a connection with the trust, but believe I have worded the article in a factual and neutral manner. I am new to Wikipedia so would be grateful for some advice on this as I am unsure what I have written that could be deemed biased. I have removed the part where I mention that the Trust has won local community awards as I can only assume this might be the reason? Thank you in advance. Nunnsofunky (talk) 09:23, 11 February 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Notes[edit]

I'd reckon the awards can go back in, so long as they don't look like advertising, and are referenced. The business about conflict of interest is a standard thing here. You have declared your interest, and two unconnected others have edited positively. Personally, I don't object to people connected with organisations editing about them so long as they stay neutral and don't get worked up when someone else adds a well referenced section about the scandal. A lot of people who put articles up forget that anyone can edit - subject to the rules. I'd say you are doing quite well. COI isn't forbidden, but most in the position are PR people who simply cannot write plain English to save their lives. (Yes, I do have a thing about PR English...) I've reworded a bit, changing 'offers'. That's a red rag word... (We have patrollers who type Wikipedia into Google along with words like that, in order to find the spam.) What you need to do now is improve the references. Make sure that quite a lot of them are in depth rather than mentions. If you need help, ask the girls I mentioned above. Peridon (talk) 12:11, 11 February 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Many thanks for your advice. It's much appreciated.  :) Nunnsofunky (talk) 12:13, 11 February 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Orphaned non-free media (File:Folly Wildlife Rescue Logo.jpg)[edit]

Thanks for uploading File:Folly Wildlife Rescue Logo.jpg. The media description page currently specifies that it is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, it is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the media was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that media for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'file' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "File" from the dropdown box. Note that all non-free media not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. Hazard-Bot (talk) 05:35, 2 March 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Hi there, I'm HasteurBot. I just wanted to let you know that Wikipedia talk:Articles for creation/Folly Wildlife Rescue Trust, a page you created, has not been edited in 6 months. The Articles for Creation space is not an indefinite storage location for content that is not appropriate for articlespace.

If your submission is not edited soon, it could be nominated for deletion. If you would like to attempt to save it, you will need to improve it.

You may request Userfication of the content if it meets requirements.

If the deletion has already occured, instructions on how you may be able to retrieve it are available at WP:REFUND/G13.

Thank you for your attention. HasteurBot (talk) 01:31, 27 October 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Hello Nunnsofunky. It has been over six months since you last edited your WP:AFC draft article submission, entitled "Folly Wildlife Rescue Trust".

The page will shortly be deleted. If you plan on editing the page to address the issues raised when it was declined and resubmit it, simply edit the submission and remove the {{db-afc}} or {{db-g13}} code. Please note that Articles for Creation is not for indefinite hosting of material deemed unsuitable for the encyclopedia mainspace.

If your submission has already been deleted by the time you get there, and you want to retrieve it, copy this code: {{subst:Refund/G13|Wikipedia talk:Articles for creation/Folly Wildlife Rescue Trust}}, paste it in the edit box at this link, click "Save page", and an administrator will in most cases undelete the submission.

Thanks for your submission to Wikipedia, and happy editing. HasteurBot (talk) 14:02, 26 November 2014 (UTC)[reply]

File permission problem with File:Baby Hedgehog hand reared.jpg[edit]

Thanks for uploading File:Baby Hedgehog hand reared.jpg, which you've attributed to Facebook. I noticed that while you provided a valid copyright licensing tag, there is no proof that the creator of the file has agreed to release it under the given license.

If you are the copyright holder for this media entirely yourself but have previously published it elsewhere (especially online), please either

  • make a note permitting reuse under the CC-BY-SA or another acceptable free license (see this list) at the site of the original publication; or
  • Send an email from an address associated with the original publication to permissions-en@wikimedia.org, stating your ownership of the material and your intention to publish it under a free license. You can find a sample permission letter here. If you take this step, add {{OTRS pending}} to the file description page to prevent premature deletion.

If you did not create it entirely yourself, please ask the person who created the file to take one of the two steps listed above, or if the owner of the file has already given their permission to you via email, please forward that email to permissions-en@wikimedia.org.

If you believe the media meets the criteria at Wikipedia:Non-free content, use a tag such as {{non-free fair use}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:File copyright tags#Fair use, and add a rationale justifying the file's use on the article or articles where it is included. See Wikipedia:File copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.

If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have provided evidence that their copyright owners have agreed to license their works under the tags you supplied, too. You can find a list of files you have created in your upload log. Files lacking evidence of permission may be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. You may wish to read the Wikipedia's image use policy. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Stefan2 (talk) 16:48, 10 December 2014 (UTC)[reply]
