Isinglass in beer[edit]

You recently posted spurious and uncited comments on the article covering Stella Artois. Can I suggest that you spend some time studying the science of the brewing process before adding POV comments to a serious article? For the record (go and check it) 98.2% (by volume) of the beer brewed in Western Europe and North America uses isinglass finnings to clarify yeast residue. There is no isinglass "in beer" - it is removed as part of the finning process. By your standards, you may wish to point out that beer contains alcohol and should be avoided by those wishing to avoid a thick head.

This topic has been discussed at length by the Wiki community and, if you bothered to read the discussion page, has been the subject of fair arbitration. You should be bound by this decision.

If you continue to vandalise the Stella page, you will be reported for abuse.

Thank you —The preceding unsigned comment was added by MercuryProject (talkcontribs) 23:02, 4 December 2006 (UTC).[reply]

Mike - I accept that your contribution was not spurious and that it is cited. My apologies for clumsy use of english - what I meant was that it was too general. This topic has been debated by the many that contribute to the Stella topic. It was mediated this summer with an agreed outcome. I am not aware that anybody wishes to hide the fact that Stella uses Isinlass - indeed it is covered in the discussion page.SilkTork best highlights the problem, in that is is easier to say with certaininty what beers are suitable for vegans rather than those which are not. Stella Artois (and derivities) is brewed in at least 15 countries, all with slightly different processes. The citation you have used relates only to the UK and could be misleading to other readers

The result of the mediation was as follows:

Isinglass in Lager mediation case[edit]

I quote "The information that beer often contains isinglass is contained in the main Beer article under Beer#Clarifying_agent. There is much information that can be repeated in individual beer articles, such as brewing methods, etc. How much of this information should be repeated on every beer page is open for debate. I think I prefer the idea that a positive statement that a beer is considered suitable for vegans rather than a negative statement on virtually all beer articles that the beer is not suitable for vegans, and for those suffering from gluten intolerance, and that the beer contains alcohol so care must be taken if driving, etc. However, as contents and brewing methods may vary from country to country, or when a brewery switches production method, it may be difficult to say with the sort of certainty that a tag brings that a beer really is suitable for vegans. Perhaps an article, along the lines of the Gluten free beer article, could be written on Vegan beer. SilkTork 13:17, 20 July 2006 (UTC)"

That sounds like a perfect solution. I will drop this case and concentrate on an article about vegan and vegetarian beer/lager. I wish such a statement could have been discussed on the articles by the rv'ing user but some people are less open for discussion I suppose ;) Thanks for your help. Lord & Taylor[edit]

Hello;

Thank you for adding the sprot tag to Lord & Taylor, unfortunately it obviously didn't work because the article continued to be vandalized by anonymous users. According to Template:Sprotected you have to be an administrator to make it work, maybe this is the problem?

Also, in your initial reversion, you reverted about a dozen citations and other changes to the article to bring it in line with WP:MOS, please be careful in your reversions! I've put everything back right, so no harm, no foul as they say.

Keep up the good work and thanks again for helping to protect the article! --Elipongo (Talk|contribs) 15:43, 13 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Hi again Mike! Sorry for this delayed reply, we've really been getting hammered at work lately -happy holidays! Anyways; yes I do know that the former stores section is likely messed up, but as you pointed out- sorting it out just by looking at edit summaries is pretty difficult. I feel that what has to be done is the same thing I did for the current stores section- find an external reference to fact check the information and to cite that reference. Otherwise there is no way to sort out the facts from the fiction and per WP:VERIFY, any editor can remove uncited material. The article does seem to have been quiet for more than a day now, perhaps getting a level 3 warning made that anonymous editor do the right thing? Thanks again for helping out- this is a tough case of sneaky vandalism and the more people working on it the better we can fix it! --Elipongo (Talk|contribs) 00:19, 15 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Well, thanks for the compliment Mike! I'll be using the citation you provided soon, thanks for posting it. Be Safe & Be Well. --Elipongo (Talk|contribs) 04:44, 19 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Lord & Taylor Store Size[edit]

My sincere apology for posting that on his page. I meant it for you.

Anyways, I figured that the statistics on the wikipedia pages for the shopping malls. However, I also came to the following conclusions. I live in Wayne, New Jersey, and the mall store seems to be more like 98,300 square feet than 121,000 square feet. I am also on the Lakeforest Mall website right now, and on the lease plan for the mall, the Lord and Taylor is listed as 150,000 square feet. I do not know how to cite these sources, but I will update the information and check the mall websites for accurate data.

Happy new year to you and your family!

Lord & Taylor Vandal[edit]

It looks like our Lord & Taylor vandal might be using another IP → 72.82.214.243 (talk). His edit to Southpark Mall (Colonial Heights, Virginia) is the same addition of Lord & Taylor to the anchor list as I've been reverting over and over. His other edits, however, aren't related to Lord & Taylor and I have no idea about their accuracy... got any ideas? --Elipongo (Talk|contribs) 06:31, 15 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I fixed the vandalism on Strawbridges, Wanamaker's, and Macy's East. I don't do theatre/musicals so can't vouch for his other edits.

Recent edits to Commerce Bancorp[edit]

I wonder why you keep reverting edits explaining the recent ousting of Vernon Hill, CEO. This is front-page news and is all fact. If you feel that this information is non-NPOV then please explain to me how, because it seems to me that what you reverted is completely fact. SeanMD80talk | contribs 16:48, 30 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

edit:I don't mean the part about "being a political pawn"; that's obviously POV, but the facts about the resignation. SeanMD80talk | contribs 16:51, 30 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Hi there! Thanks for your message on my talk page. I have been reverting vandalism by CAMDENBEER (Talk contribs) to the Commerce Bancorp page, mostly his comments about political pawns, etc. When I saw today that he added additional information that I assumed was going to be false (I had not yet seen the news report about Vernon Hill and I am a news freak) I removed the information thinking it was false. I later did a google search and was highly surprised to hear Vernon Hill resigned yesterday. Maybe Action News didn't do a story on it? My mistake, regardless. I have created a section on the Commerce Bank page for some of the information, which is fact. The things I deemed to be non-NPOV I removed. I hope you will review my edit, and let me know if it looks ok to you. PanzaM22 17:54, 30 June 2007 (UTC) PanzaM22 (Talk contribs) Mike

Mike, thanks for writing to me on my talk page. I think you do have a point, but please be careful of throwing the word vandalism around casually. Also lets keep WP:3RR & WP:BITE in mind too, okay? (Though the puppet comment does seems odd from a new editor.) —Elipongo (Talk contribs) 02:22, 1 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Camden BEER:[edit]

Do you work for the marketing department at Commerce Bank? Either that or your a Norcross puppet. These facts can all be found in the local newspapers and are common knowledge. Keep deleting them if you want. I plan to update it daily, forever.— Preceding unsigned comment added by CAMDENBEER (talkcontribs) 18:29, 30 June 2007

Hello CAMDENBEER, if these facts are indeed in the newspapers, you should have no trouble whatsoever properly citing them as is required by the verifiability policy. Without such a policy, I could easily go to the article and write something about the firm offering a savings account rate of 45%APY or something like that. Citations from reliable sources is how we know what's what. Wikipedia articles also must be written from a neutral point of view because we're an encyclopedia, not a soapbox.
Also, please understand also that Wikipedia has a strict civility policy and threats of disruptive editing are a violation of that. Even when others may not do so, it's important to keep your own cool.
I've started a discussion at Talk:Commerce Bancorp#Recent edits and I would be happy to hear your thoughts there. Thanks and happy editing. —Elipongo (Talk contribs) 02:22, 1 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]

King of Prussia[edit]

I don't understand your thinking on wanting the Hecht's article to link to the King of Prussia disambiguation page. The article is referring to the city in Pennsylvania, which has a specific link (King of Prussia, Pennsylvania). I'm doing work for the disambiguation project, which aims to remove links to disambiguation pages. Your revert doesn't make sense to me, but please educate me. Thanks. Deptford Mall[edit]

FYI...the removal of the information was not vandalism. It is confidential business information that has not been announced publicly. The lease plan is not generally available and considered protected information.

Thanks. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Tower936 (talkcontribs) 23:03, 25 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Not confidential any more. Toddst1 (talk) 23:28, 25 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]

The information *has* been released to the public.

Here is exactly how people find the leasing plan for the mall's website.

Go to http://www.deptfordmall.com

In the top right corner, click "leasing"

Scroll halfway down the page and click "To view this Center's Lease Plans and Market Profile Click Here"

In the middle of the page, click "Leasing Information"

Click "Lease Plan 1"

The leasing plan for the 1st floor of the mall will load, which clearly shows Gilly Hicks in the Sears hallway.

If Tower936 personally feels that this information should not be available to the general public, perhaps he should contact his employer.

Bloomingdale's et al[edit]

The consensus was established back in April 2007 in this afd that listings of stores should, in general, not exist. It took me a while to warm up to this consensus though. Ten Pound Hammer and his otters • (Broken clamshellsOtter chirpsHELP) 19:28, 18 October 2008 (UTC)[reply]
