Need Help in WP:PBUH[edit]

Hi bro,

I need your help removing terrorism section from WP:PBUH.

I removed it citing reason why it should be removed but CambridgeBayWeather put it back in.

If you can please go to that page and remove that section by reverting the change done by CambridgeBayWeather.

It will establish a consensus that more than one person think that it should be removed.

I also tried to talk it out with CambridgeBayWeather on his talk page and you can see my post there as well.

Threat matrix[edit]

Great article. I've made a few edits and may make some more as time allows me. By the way, I've been thinking over this for a long time, we should have an article on Geostrategy in Pakistan too which discusses Pakistan's geopolitics and its strategic location - like the Geostrategy in Central Asia article. The article could cover some very interesting topics, such as how the Soviet Union was allegedly interested in Pakistan because of its strategic location during the Afghan occupation, and other topics like the country's important location in the context of the War on Terror (i.e. NATO and other routes pass through Pakistan to enter landlocked Afghanistan), Pakistan's proximity to Central Asian countries, the strategic importance of the mountains in northern and northwest Pakistan, Balochistan's natural resources and close location to the Persian Gulf and Middle East, Sindh's historically important location as a gateway for many foreign empires that entered the subcontinent, Kashmir's geostrategic location, and also how the Chinese today see Pakistan as the best route to access Arabian sea through Gwadar, the Silk Road etc. I think I will go and on, but this is an interesting topic nevertheless. Edit warring[edit]

Hello, and welcome to Wikipedia. You appear to be engaged in an edit war with one or more editors according to your reverts at Chagai-I. Although repeatedly reverting or undoing another editor's contributions may seem necessary to protect your preferred version of a page, on Wikipedia this is usually seen as obstructing the normal editing process, and often creates animosity between editors. Instead of edit warring, please discuss the situation with the editor(s) involved and try to reach a consensus on the talk page.

If editors continue to revert to their preferred version they are likely to lose editing privileges. This isn't done to punish an editor, but to prevent the disruption caused by edit warring. In particular, editors should be aware of the three-revert rule, which says that an editor must not perform more than three reverts on a single page within a 24-hour period. Edit warring on Wikipedia is not acceptable in any amount, and violating the three-revert rule is very likely to lead to a loss of editing privileges.

I have assumed good faith (WP:AGF) on your part, but that is quickly fading.

You have not bothered to reply to my messages, you have not taken my advice on normal WP practises,
You have not explained your reverts back to incorrect information, whereas I have explained my edits in detail.
You continue to needlessly 'hide' links behind acronyms, like here twice! This is not normal WP practise.

I particularly loose AGF when I see 'Anonymous' users (IP editors) reverting back to the version you prefer, and displaying similar editing behaviours. Like here. Be advised that editing while logged out to revert other editors is considered to be wp:Sock puppetry. (Not accusing you, but it is suspicious, plus that the several IPs involved are all from the same state.)

Can you have the courtesy to at least acknowledge my comments here? Wikipedia (WP) is not a place where you can edit 'in a vacuum', ignoring everyone else. Editors need to work together, within the rules and guidelines of WP. I've only been editing since 2009 (before I had a WP account), what would I know?

Verifiability; Rp[edit]

Wikipedia values accuracy, but it requires verifiability. Prisoners of war during the Indo-Pakistani War of 1971 said 90,000 POWs because that's what the cited source says. Changing content without citing a source for the change violates verifiability, violates neutral point of view by not taking the cited source's view into account or explaining why it is either not a significant view or not a reliable sources for the view, and deceives the reader by making it appear that the changed figure came from the cited source when it did not. You are welcome to change the number of POWs to a range, but please cite a reliable source or sources for it.

You are misplacing the reference page(s) template {{rp}}. It should always be placed after the reference, so that it produces the output "[source#]:page#". See Help:References and page numbers. Placing it on the wrong side of the reference cause problems when text is refactored because other editors expect the page number to refer to the reference to its left, not the one to its right, so they will move the page number along with a reference that you did not mean to associate it with. I've fixed it in the POW article, but please fix it anywhere else you may have made the same mistake.

How to properly show page citations in body of article[edit]

Mr. Baba, it appears that you have an incorrect perception of the sensible way of citing pages for sources in the body of an article. The intention of using an "rp" template to display page numbers is that the page number should append to a named reference, and not appear ahead of it. You have been advised within the past 30 days that you were misusing the template, which should have spurred you to investigate the proper use of the template on WP (which see at helpful link below). This template misuse becomes a problem when several citation numbers follow an assertion in an article. The colon followed by the page number may appear to be pertinent to the preceding numbered source, rather than the source for which it is in fact pertinent. It especially confuses readers who have previously seen "rp" templates used correctly.

Example:

...enjoying the support from Muhammad Ali Jinnah over this issue.^: 342^[1]^[2]^: 140^[3]^{: 290–291}^[4]

This is a matter of common courtesy to the reader, not to mention the need for Wikipedia to have a consistent and clean format, being that it is a widely read worldwide encyclopedia. You are placing the template for the page number before the citation, when correct use dictates that it should appear after the citation.

Here is the correct procedure for using the "rp" template: Help:References and page numbers.

You have made this error no fewer than 7 times in the lead of the article Huseyn Shaheed Suhrawardy, and numerous times more in the body of the same article. I am asking you, as the person who has used this template, to please reposition the "rp" templates, since other editors should not be required to slog through articles which you have edited, correcting this editing error which you have already been advised about. You currently appear to be engaged in an edit war according to the reverts you have made on Munir Ahmad Khan; that means that you are repeatedly changing content back to how you think it should be, when you have seen that other editors disagree. Users are expected to collaborate with others, to avoid editing disruptively, and to try to reach a consensus, rather than repeatedly undoing other users' edits once it is known that there is a disagreement.

Points to note:

Edit warring is disruptive regardless of how many reverts you have made;
Do not edit war even if you believe you are right.

• changed some text in the lede,

I would be much more accepting of what you are doing IF you would use an informative edit summary for the majority of your edits, or answered when I question what you are doing. WP is a collaborative project, but you are not editing in a collaborative manner. Instead, you are displaying WP:Ownership, which I feel is WP:Disruptive.

Large deletion, no summary??[edit]

I know, that you know, how to do edit summaries, so it's totally unbelievable to me that you'll give a very average edit summary for an average copyedit, here but then delete a pile of text with no reason given as you did here. You are expected to say why you do an edit like that. It also created a red Cite error in the 'References' list because you deleted a source in use, that then required a Bot to repair it, here.

Your "Changed the wording.'' edit added 126 bytes and changed this rather hard to understand text, which I had tagged because it didn't make sense:

Too long, it's largely one loooong sentence. Your usage of "the" is IMHO opinion, incorrect, you use it where is not needed, and leave it out where it should be. "The" is, IMHO as a native English speaker of 50+ years experience, not needed before most acronyms like "CEA", though this seems to need deciding on a case-by-case basis. "Offing" is not the right word, in British or American English. You are unecessarily repetitive, "the project", "the project". You are using WP:Piped links for no obvious reason or advantage.

Try this: (additions in 'bold, deletions ~~struck~~ through)

This may be the last time I bother to explain this, or any, issue to you, BECAUSE I THINK YOU DON'T BOTHER TO LISTEN. You were making exactly the same types of disruptive edits 5 YEARS AGO at Chagai-I. Therefore I am apparently wasting my time.

• If you don't reply here, as you usually don't, because you can't understand what I am writing, then I seriously think your understanding of written English is NOT good enough to edit on the English language Wikipedia.

• Consider that EVERY time, EVERY time I checked any of your edits, I have found:

bad grammar,
use of wrong words,
capitalisation errors,
massive over-linking,
Links that go to an incorrect page, like Rocky Mountains , in the USA, when writing about mountains in Pakistan!!
linking of common words,
Links that go to unexpected pages (see WP:EASTEREGG), and
unnecessary piping of links. (You 'pipe' almost EVERY link!!!)

These issues have continued, even AFTER I have left messages, MANY messages, here, and on article talk pages.

"… Qadeer Khan pushed his research into mathematically rigorous calculations in theoretical physics and topics to compete, but still failed to impress his fellow theorists at PAEC, generally in the physics community."

Which should have been (my error):

"… Qadeer Khan pushed his research into mathematically rigorous calculations in theoretical physics and topics to compete, but still failed to impress his fellow theorists at PAEC, and generally in the physics community."

Unnecessary link piping[edit]

'Weird' linking[edit]

One of your edits created, or recreated:

Poor grammar, "… in The Hague", NOT "… in Hague."

WP:Easter egg type inking which should be avoided. You are the ONLY editor I have seen linking like this. I have removed links like this before, and you keep RETURNING them, sneakily IMHO, I might add. That is called WP:Edit warring, and you need to STOP doing it.

Grammar[edit]

"mathematical rigorous" is BAD grammar, "mathematical rigour", or "mathematically rigorous", as I believe I had it, IS correct in this case. Your usage of "the" is frequently grammatically wrong. I don't 'know' the rules for it's usage, but English IS my native language, and sometimes you just learn by experience, or what 'sounds' correct.

Editing 'style'[edit]

To top it off, the 'way' in which you edit mades it VERY hard to tell what changes you made. You seem to be frequently moving paragraphs, and adding/ removing line spaces which changes the paragraph alignment so the 'diffs' are hard to see.

See my editing 'style' here, anyone can see EXACTLY what I have done, compared to your edit here.
I find it VERY difficult to make out:

what has been moved,
what new text has been added, and
what text has been altered.

'Excessive'? editing[edit]

You seem to make a LOT of edits for little obvious article improvement, you are clogging up WP:recent changes lists, for example.
I suggest that you try editing the text WITHOUT adding or removing any blank lines if you can avoid doing so. AND try to PREVIEW your edit so you can see what the 'diff' looks like to other editors.

So, once AGAIN after spending considerable time cleaning up after you, you came back AGAIN and repeated exactly the SAME avoidable editing mistakes and grammar errors that have been pointed out to you, by me an other editors, at least as long ago as FIVE years!

See my edit to Abdul Qadeer Khan, here. I'm not perfect but I believe that this is near 100% correct grammar. If you go back and edit back into it, poor grammar, over-linking, unnecessary piping, etc I will IMMEDIATELY take your editing up with WP administrators.

Instead:
