Hi. I see you are listed as a member of a WikiProject of a Baltic state. Invite to the African Destubathon

Hi. You may be interested in participating in the African Destubathon which starts on October 15. Africa currently has over 37,000 stubs and badly needs a quality improvement editathon/contest to flesh out basic stubs. There are proposed substantial prizes to give to editors who do the most articles, and planned smaller prizes for doing to most destubs for each of the 53 African countries, so should be enjoyable! So it would be a good chance to win something for improving stubs on African sportspeople, including footballers, athletes, Olympians and Paralympians etc, particularly female ones, but also male. Even if contests aren't your thing we would be grateful if you could consider destubbing a few African articles during the drive to help the cause and help reduce the massive 37,000 + stub count, of which many are rated high importance (think Regions of countries etc). If you're interested in competing or just loosely contributing a few expanded articles on African Paralympians, Olympians and committees etc, please add your name to the Contestants/participants section. Kontaveit

We allready had discussion @ User talk:Rim555, (I told it also on my talk page). No point for keeping this pointless list was made. Someone has extended Grand Slam results with other statistic not about grand slams. I updated Kaia Kanepis page when she made comeback in US open last year and added several years that were missing. WTA were updating their page back then and there weren't any older seasons. I checked now, and the statistics on older seasons were all messed up. It is not necessary to have a table just to have a table. Especially when it's mostly cells containing letter A (for absent) I removed all seasons in the beginning that had no tournaments at all. Are you aware what are you trying to do? You want to change the history of one country??? You can make your own blog or website and there add your personal views, but wikipedia is not a place for that. Just realize SFR Yugoslavia and FR Yugoslavia were two different countries...if you want you can go and try to merge that two pages and people will probably laugh at you. It's pretty ridiculous that a person from Estonia is coming to change the history of Yugoslavia, and there is no one from Croatia, Slovenia or other EX SFRY countries to do that. National teams from ex SFR Yugoslavia played against FR Yugoslavia so they dont have nothing with medals from 1992 to 2006. Your source is FIBA html code table which is full of nonsense. Per that source FR Yugoslavia and Serbia and Montenegro were different countries, and every person on this world knows that's not correct. "Yugoslavia" is the name that was used by 1) Kingdom of Yugoslavia (Kingdom of Serbs, Croats and Slovenes until 1929) 2) Socialist Federal Republic of Yugoslavia 3) Federal Republic of Yugoslavia. What? Team squads have a source, but you have to click on it, open, and look. You reverted all those edits by anon user without even thinking twice. I only reverted 2 of them back, because I checked those sources (squad at the club's homepage). Listen, ridiculous is your missunderstanding. Really. Please stop plotting and try to understad how really things happened. Try to understand that all this Olympic delegations were something similar to what was Russia/USSR. It was one same delegation with country slightly changing size or name at times, but other countries becoming independent and crating their own delegatios. What happened in Yugoslav case was that Serbia kept the name "Yugoslavia" till 2003, plus 3 mor years called "Serbia and Montenegro". But that was all one and same delegation sent "from Belgrade headquarters". Now, we can understand the separation of old big Yugoslavia versus the minor Serbian Yugoslavia one (pre1992, pos1992) (sort of separating USSR from Russia) but separating things in 2003 when there was just a merely simbolic country name change (as if Russia changed name to Russia Federation but nothing else) is, sorry to say, but stupid. When new delegations were crated was in 1992. While in 2003 just one country changed name and no othr delegations were created. In 2006 Montenegro split and crated their own delegation. So making a separation in 2003 when actually nothing happened besides name change, makes no sense. But Tvx1, if you care about delegation, why dont we then join together all deegations since they were all one and same ever since early 1900s till nowadays, all sent from Belgrade headquarters and with one same seat at Olympic cometee? Yet your claims aren’t supported by relaible sources and reality in any way. The achievements up to 2003 are credited to Yugoslavia, not Serbia and Montenegro. That’s the only thing which matters. Regarding the aspect of continuity of the commettee ever from the beginings till nowadays, an exemple of source confirm that can be the List of Commeettee Presidents at Olympic Committee of Serbia. The adress and the headquarters never changed, and you can see whenever there were changes in the country, the president remained the same, meaning the commeettee kept being the same. For instance, Nikodije Stefanovic was the president of the commeettee between 1910 till 1919, the commeettee was of Kingdom of Serbia till 1918 and then became of the Kingdom of Serbs, Croats and Slovenes in 1918. In 1929 the Kingdom of SCS changed its name to Kingdom of Yugoslavia, and Dusan Stefanovic was president from 1927 to 1931. Later, when old big Yugoslavia (which became socialist republic after WWII) broke up in 1992 and FR Yugoslavia was formed, same president existed, Aleksandar Bakocevic, from 1989 till 1996. In 2003 FR Yugoslavia changed its name to "Serbia and Montenegro" and same president, Dragan Kicanovic, presided from 1996 till 2004. Then in 2006 Serbia and Montenegro separated, Montenegro formed its own commeettee and from the exemple of presidents we can see Ivan Curkovic was commeettee president from 2005 till 2009.

From this exemple of commeettee presidents you can see that this was one same commeettee all time despite the country changing size or name. Whenever others left the country and became independent, they formed their new commeettees, while this one allways headquartered in Belgrade allways continued representing Serbia or whatever was the name of the country. In my opinion we should reflect this continuity. However, if we decide to make separations in the timeline, 2003 is the separation that makes less sense because either should be in 1992 when Serbia stayed with Montenegro calling their country "Yugoslavia" however 4 new countries and 4 ne OCs were formed (SVN,CRO,BIH and MKD, while Montenegro and Serbia kept being YUG), or in 2006, when Montenegro declared independence and created its own OC, and FR Yugoslavia which was renamed "Serbia and Montengro" 3 years earlier, was left just with Serbia and got renamed back to Serbia, same as it was initially named at time of its creation in 1910. In 2003 the country's whole structure changed. It was changed from a Federal Republic to a State Union. That's not merely a name change. In an Olympic sense more than a name change happened. A new Olympic entity was created and resisted with the IOC and first appeared at the Olympics in 2004. The IOC credits the pre-2003 results to one continuous Yugoslavia and the post-2003 results to Serbia and Montenegro. You have now yourself supplied evidence that little changed to the national committee despite the change from SFR to FR and that there is literally no difference with the change from Kingdom to SFR. We have no option but to reflect the IOC. There is no justification not to do so. When it comes to sports, Wikipedia reflects results as they are actually credited by the relevant authority in real life. I can see no reason whatsoever to make an exception for Yugoslavia.Tvx1 22:31, 7 April 2018 (UTC)

Invitation to WikiProject Portals

The Portals WikiProject has been rebooted.

You are invited to join, and participate in the effort to revitalize and improve the Portal system and all the portals in it.

There are sections on the WikiProject page dedicated to tasks (including WikiGnome tasks too), and areas on the talk page for discussing the improvement and automation of the various features of portals.

Many complaints have been lodged in the RfC to delete all portals, pointing out their various problems. They say that many portals are not maintained, or have fallen out of date, are useless, etc. Many of the !votes indicate that the editors who posted them simply don't believe in the potential of portals anymore.

It's time to change all that. Let's give them reasons to believe in portals, by revitalizing them.

The best response to a deletion nomination is to fix the page that was nominated. The further underway the effort is to improve portals by the time the RfC has run its course, the more of the reasons against portals will no longer apply. RfCs typically run 30 days. There are 19 days left in this one. Let's see how many portals we can update and improve before the RfC is closed, and beyond.

A healthy WikiProject dedicated to supporting and maintaining portals may be the strongest argument of all not to delete.

We may even surprise ourselves and exceed all expectations. Who knows what we will be able to accomplish in what may become the biggest Wikicollaboration in years.

Let's do this.

The project has grown to 80 members so far, and has become a beehive of activity.

Our two main goals at this time are to automate portals (in terms of refreshing, rotating, and selecting content), and to develop a one-page model in order to make obsolete and eliminate most of the 150,000 subpages from the portal namespace by migrating their functions to the portal base pages, using technologies such as selective transclusion. Results of water polo national teams

Please stop making incorrect edits to European Water Polo Championship, Water polo at the World Aquatics Championships and Water polo at the Mediterranean Games by keeping results of Serbia separated from results of Serbia and Montenegro and Yugoslavia, as well as for Russia and Soviet Union, as FINA considers those countries to be direct successors of all the results of the previous countries, and considers and counts their medals all together.

That's not correct and you are reading the source wrong. That source lists Serbia results seperately. I've copied it already in World Champs talk page, and copying again[2] :

For your information, most of of the "sources" you restored aren't supporting the claims made but are generic links to the services themselves (except the drivermag one). External links of companies on the body text are a way of promotion and should be removed on sight. At the moment, no. Not 100%. Am about 95% of the way there. The goal is to make it stay the same. The reason I'm starting to implement it now is so that people like you will find my mistakes. :-) You caught a great one just now so thank you! Take a look at Template:Medals table/testcases for some comparisons. (Please don't change it right now, I'm actively working on it). The last issue I know of that I need to fix is that the ranks are still based on the TOTAL, not on the sort order that you explained and I just fixed. Ok I'm pretty sure it should be good to go! Now I will warn you that some of the places where there aremedal tables, they aren't going to match the new format 100%. The differences will be with color. Some places there are medal tables are using different color schemes. Part of the goal of this template is to unify everything so that things are consistent. That being said, if you notice any more issues like this one, please let me know! If it is a major issue, you are obviously more than welcome to revert my change, but I'd encourage you to instead leave a note on the talk page for the template. How then on European championship on medal table Serbia is together with Yugoslavia and on World championship is not? On World Cup waterpolo all medals is on Serbia what is correct. And second i am Serb and i know that my country Serbia and capital Belgrade is played all games from 1992. Other Yugoslavian states are separeted Croatia,Bosnia,Macedonia,Slovenia...And from UN Serbia is succsesor of Yugoslavia and Serbia and Montenegro. And that name Serbia and Monetnegro is Serbia with 7 milion people and Montenegro with 500.000 people where is 200.000 Serbs in that 500.000. But now i know what is correct but you foreigners dont. Basketball

New problem. Communist Yugoslavia with a flag with the star existed from 1945 to 1992 with 6 republics (Croatia, Slovenia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Serbia, Montenegro, Macedonia). It ceased to exist in 1992 because other countries separated from it. The new Yugoslavia with a flag without a star was formed in 1992 with only two states in Serbia and Montenegro. This country won two gold medals at the World Cup in basketball 1998 and 2002 and won many medals at the European basketball championship. The mistakes are awarded medals to Yugoslavia with a star that ceased to exist in 1992. 2019 World Rally Championship

Hello, Pelmeen10! To respond to your comment at the Request for Protection page, about 2019 World Rally Championship (thanks for the ping): At the time I declined your request, there had been only one disruptive or unsourced addition in the previous week. Re: Defending champions

Hello,

In case you are not aware, most South American football leagues (Bolivia, Colombia, Ecuador, Paraguay, Peru, Uruguay, and Venezuela) work under the Apertura/Clausura system with two tournaments per season. In Ecuador, Peru, Uruguay and Venezuela the winners of both tournaments (along with the best team in an aggregate table including the results of both tournaments in Uruguay and Peru) play for the league championship at the end of the season, however, in Bolivia, Colombia, and Paraguay, both the Apertura and Clausura (or Finalización in Colombia's case) are independent championships, which means there are two champions per season instead of one in these countries.

Regarding Bolivia, Bolívar entered the 2018 season as defending champions since they won the previous tournament, which was the 2017 Clausura, however, the following tournament was the 2018 Apertura which was won by Jorge Wilstermann, which means that as of now Wilstermann are the defending champions. @Enzino: Hi, yes I am. I thought 8x100 was a mistake, because I did not find it in the Games' homepage, which made it unsourced and it said 2019. My French is not actually good, but most of the Wikis are/were wrong about the number of events (36 in athletics and 239 total, not 38 & 241), also the schedules and number of medals in the medal table. I think totals in fr:Tableau des médailles des Jeux olympiques de la jeunesse d'été de 2018 are still wrong. As far as I know, 2018 Summer Youth Olympics medal table should be correct - btw the totals are automatically calculated. Thanks for the offer, but currently I have a different project in my hands. Template: Rally championships

While I can understand your point regarding the governing body vs. championship; the American Rally Association pretty much refers to their championship as "American Rally Association, Presented by AMSOIL" as evidenced by articles on their own site. Datsun 160J

The Datsun 160J nameplate was used on two different generations of the Nissan Violet (710, then A10). I added anchored pipelinks to send users to the correct generation. As a sidenote, Nissan sometimes rallied the same car as a "Nissan Violet GT" if it suited their marketing, as in the 1981 and 1982 Safari Rallys. If you ever see another instance where a talk page is not synchronized with its main page, please use WP:RMTR instead, the move request board used for uncontroversial/technical move requests. But as you see how many times this style (your edits and all other who've tried it previously) has been reverted from various pages by many Wikipedia editors, so you should understnd it's consensus we've reached in our community. Please respect it. Many players in USSR team did not came from Russia and have no connection to Russia after the Soviet Union collapsed. Hello, MelanieN! The edits are basically the same, but instead of focusing on Serbia, it focuses on Russia. I wouldn't be 100% sure that they are the same person. But does it matter? Obviously the user can be blocked for disruptive editing (in this case vandalism-only account) and refusal to communicate. Pelmeen10 (talk) 20:15, 1 May 2020 (UTC)

I found enough evidence to block NathanC 24 as another sock. But I could not block them for "vandalism" or "disruption," because it's not obvious that they are. To an outside observer it looks like a content dispute, which would NOT be vandalism. You and those who agree with you have offered no evidence for your position. It is important that you say, on the article's talk page, what the problem is with these edits. You should post your evidence for why your version is correct and theirs is wrong. The other editor has posted a reference several times; you and the others who agree with you have posted nothing; that makes YOU look like the problem rather than them. That is the kind of thing an administrator looks for to see who is right and who is wrong - who is vandalising and who is just edit warring. So I advise you to go to each of the pages where you have removed their edits, and post something on the talk page about why you are removing them, why the various teams are being listed as they are. Establish your evidence on the talk page of each article where these changes are occurring. I agree with the content dispute. I think what's happened here is the Dusani (and socks) were all reverted per the WP:BRD cycle. I think its maybe smart to start a discussion, and perhaps allow an unblock of Dusani, with conditions met etc. Sportsfan 1234 (talk) 22:03, 1 May 2020 (UTC)
