¡Hola![edit]

After about two months(!) I'm back at Wikipedia...liked the changes in your userpage :)...I just discovered userboxes and even created my own but I have no idea how to substitute that long HTML format given for my userbox into a template. I already read the Wikipedia:Template substitution but couldn't figure it out...would you mind helping me out with this one? Rosameliamartinez 07:11, 12 March 2006 (UTC)[reply]

I just figured it out :D Rosameliamartinez 07:29, 12 March 2006 (UTC)[reply]

I just figured out how to make personal barnstars too LOL... I hope you like it even though you aren't a fan...Rosameliamartinez 12:03, 12 March 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Hola Peruvianllama, would you mind telling me what does it means when in an article someone writes this: ro: ? Also, does the llama thing has anything to do with Jimmy Neutron's Carl (your pic reminds me this character a bit...and he's a llama fan LOL)? Rosameliamartinez 21:42, 16 March 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Image on your talk page[edit]

You really should remove Image:ESRB M.png from your user page, as it's restricted. I was going to remove it, but decided not to becuase you have content explaining the image to the right of the image. Thanks. Kilo-Lima Vous pouvez parler 00:20, 16 March 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks for reverting the vandalism on my user page. That's very neighborly of you. Ehheh 21:07, 16 March 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Rocky Day[edit]

When you reverted to the Jamie W version of the Rocky Marciano page, you re-added the "Rocky Day" bit that I had removed. Was this intentional (i.e., does Rocky Day exist?), or an accident? At any rate, I am pretty sure that Rocky Day was made up by the same guy who keeps adding other weird info and has been banned multiple times for bizarro edits on other pages. Cheers Bobby P. Request[edit]

Hi Peruvianllama,

Would you be able to check out WP:AIV and block the two IPs that I mentioned? They both continue to vandalize the page Template:Topics related to Kerala. Thanks. --Khoikhoi 08:54, 18 March 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Never mind, another admin took care of it. --Khoikhoi 09:09, 18 March 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Anti-Vandalism[edit]

I just started recently getting involved in reverting vandalism (that recent change thing is cool). Anyways, since I'm not an admin I can't block, so what is the best method for quickly getting a clear vandal blocked? Thanks. The Ungovernable Force 09:21, 18 March 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Vandalism[edit]

I have come across a page and placed a speedy deletion message. You have removed it, saying that it is vandalism. Tell me: do user pages fall under the same restrictions as regular encyclopedia articles? User:Finis Valorum 20:00, 18 March 2006 (UTC)[reply]

User page vandalism[edit]

Thanks for reverting that weird vandalism to my user page.--Shanel 22:24, 21 March 2006 (UTC)[reply]

I'm not sure if you're in the process of fixing this, but due to the vandalism on the prescribed page, the page history and talk pages are not linked properly for the main article. Hopefully as an admin, you know how to fix that or least know someone who does. Thanks. joturner 23:01, 21 March 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Everything looks alright now. For a couple of minutes it showed the page history blank and the discussion page as a red link. I'm not sure what could have possibly caused that. joturner 23:09, 21 March 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks[edit]

This guy is seriously getting on my nerves. Karl (User:Karl_Naowanmandhol, User:Karl_Naowaomondhol, User:Karl_Naowanmandhol with probably more puppets to come) have vandalized the Whitney_High_School_%28Cerritos%2C_California%29 in an never ending edit war. To stop this, I suggest protecting the page from edits until this guy is under control. Typer525 00:43, 22 March 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Cyprus and World Citizen[edit]

I see that you reverted my edits to the ones left by World Citizen. As an administrator, I wish that you would recognize the hatred and the vandalism that this person has been performing for WEEKS now. My user page was vandalized FOUR TIMES by this person. So if any actions should be taken, the Cyprus page should be locked out from anonymous edits (can we lock our user pages out from anonymous edits?). He made slanderous accusations against me, and has consistently edited my own words to false words. His actions speak of a lack of respect and maturity.

I am consistently contributing to the overall knowledge of Wikipedia - especially in terms of geography and maps. Yet this individual ONLY logs on to make malicious edits to the Cyprus pages. Is that something we can resolve?Rarelibra

Esperanza Newsletter, Issue #1[edit]

Reach out is a program aimed at allowing users to bring issues that they have had in Wikipedia to a listening, sympathetic and caring audience:
"No one can know how we feel if we do not say. We cannot expect to get understanding if we do not ask for it. No one will dispute that sometimes life's issues are too much for one person. It is fair to say that sometimes Wikipedia's problems fall under the same heading. This is a place where you can bring the bruises that can sometimes be got on this project for attention."
The Stress alerts program aims at identifying users who are stressed, alerting the community of thier stress and works in tandem with the Stressbusters at trying to identify causes of stress and eliminating them.
Note from the editor
Welcome to this new format of the Esperanza Newsletter, which came about during the last Advisory Council meeting - we hope you like it! The major changes are that each month, right after the Council meeting, this will be sent out and will include two featured programs and a sum up of the meeting. Also, it will be signed by all of the Advisory Council members, not just Celestianpower. Have an Esperanzial end of March, everyone!
  1. Future meetings are to be held monthly, not fortnightly as before.
  2. Bans and Access level changes (apart from autovoice) in the IRC channel are to be reported at the new log.
  3. In the IRC channel, there is going to be only one bot at a time.
  4. The charter requires members to have 150 edits and 2 weeks editing. Why this is the case will be clarified.
  5. A new Code of Conduct will be drafted by JoanneB and proposed to the Esperanza community.
  6. The NPA reform idea is to be dropped officially.
  7. Charter ammendments are to be discussed in future, not voted on.
  8. The Advisory Council is not going to be proposed to be expanded by the Advisory Council themselves, if others want to propose it, they will listen.

Peruvianadmin[edit]

Thanks for your nice words on my talk page and I'm glad you enjoyed my weak and mildly twisted play on your user name. I actually have a llama story for your enjoyment (?!) Some years ago I took my young daughters to a game farm and playground on Long Island. My wife led them around while I stopped to look at some of the beasts, and I was looking eyeball to eyeball with a llama. Another fellow and girlfriend walked up to me and, evidentially thinking I worked there asked if it was true that they spit. I replied: "Why? What did you say it?" I don't think he got the joke but, since I didn't work there, I didn't get fired either. I saw your picture and you would make a very convincing llama. I hope you don't spit. -- Cecropia 04:44, 6 April 2006 (UTC)[reply]

You just labeled this article for copyright infringement. The article author editted it after your initial copvio message, otherwise I would've seen it and not made the edit that I did...sorry about that. Esperanza Newsletter, Issue #2[edit]

The Barnstar Brigade is a new program aimed at giving more very deserving yet unappreciated users barnstars. It will officially start on 2006-04-09, but signing up is encouraged before this date:
"Here in Wikipedia, there are hundreds of wikipedians whose work and efforts go un-appreciated. One occasionally comes across editors who have thousands of good edits, but because they may not get around as much as others, their contributions and hard work often go un-noticed. Sadly, these editors often leave the project. As Esperanzians, we can help to make people feel appreciated, be it by some kind words or the awarding of a Barnstar. A project the size of Wikipedia has thousands of editors, so there are plenty of people out there who deserve recognition, one just has to find them. The object of this program is not to flood editors with Barnstars, but to seek out people who deserve them, and make them feel appreciated."
The Stress alerts program aims at identifying users who are stressed, alerting the community of thier stress and works in tandem with the Stressbusters at trying to identify causes of stress and eliminating them.
Information
Welcome to the second issue of the new format Esperanza Newsletter - we hope you still like it! This week, it was delivered diligently by our new dogsbody. MiszaBot (run by Misza13): any execution complaints should go to him. Content comments should be directed at the Esperanza talkpage. Thanks!
  1. The next elections: Approval voting as before and, also as before, an previous leadership member can run. Please submit your name for voting in the relevant section of this page. Voting starts on 2006-04-23 and ends on 2006-04-30. There will be three places up for grabs as KnowledgeOfSelf is leaving Wikipedia. Please see the previously linked page for full details.
  2. The Code of Conduct is now ready for extensive discussion! Specific comments should go to the Code of Conduct talk page, discussion of having one at all should be directed to the main Esperanza talk page.
  3. The current process for accepting proposals for new programs has been deemed fine. All Advisory Council members and the Admin Gen are to endevour to be bold when viewing discussion. If they feel that consensus has been reached, they will act accordingly.
A plea from the editor...
The propsed programs page is terribly underused! Please leave any comments, good or bad, on the page, to help us determine the membership's thoughts on the ideas there.

VandalProof 1.1 is Now Available For Download[edit]

Happy Easter to all of you, and I hope that this version may fix your current problems and perhaps provide you with a few useful new tools. You can download version 1.1 at User:AmiDaniel/VandalProof. Let me warn you, however, to please be extremely careful when using the new Rollback All Contributions feature, as, aside from the excessive server lag it would cause if everyone began using it at once, it could seriously aggitate several editors to have their contributions reverted. If you would like to experiment with it, though, I'd be more than happy to use my many sockpuppets to create some "vandalism" for you to revert. If you have any problems downloading, installing, or otherwise, please tell me about them at User:AmiDaniel/VP/Bugs and I will do my best to help you. Thanks. Continued vandalism from 69.2.235.194[edit]

Despite repeated warnings(including, puzzlingly enough, TWO "final warnings"), 69.2.235.194 continues to vandalize, most recently on the article on Leonardo da Vinci. I suggest doing something.
