Welcome![edit]

Hello, PeterJensen007, and welcome to Wikipedia! Thank you for your contributions. I hope you like the place and decide to stay. Unfortunately, one or more of the pages you created, such as Duncan Penn, may not conform to some of Wikipedia's guidelines, and may soon be deleted.

There's a page about creating articles you may want to read called Your first article. If you are stuck, and looking for help, please come to the New contributors' help page, where experienced Wikipedians can answer any queries you have! Or, you can just type {{helpme}} on this page, followed by your question, and someone will show up shortly to answer your questions. Here are a few other good links for newcomers:

The article Duncan Penn has been proposed for deletion because it appears to have no references. Under Wikipedia policy, all newly created biographies of living persons must have at least one reference to a reliable source that directly supports material in the article. The nominator also raised the following concern:

All biographies of living people created after March 18, 2010, must have references.

If you created the article, please don't be offended. Instead, consider improving the article. For help on inserting references, see Referencing for beginners, or ask at the help desk. Once you have provided at least one reliable source, you may remove the {{prod blp}} tag. Please do not remove the tag unless the article is sourced. If you cannot provide such a source within ten days, the article may be deleted, but you can request that it be undeleted when you are ready to add one. COI user warning[edit]

Hello, PeterJensen007. We welcome your contributions to Wikipedia, but if you are affiliated with some of the people, places or things you have written about on Wikipedia, you may have a conflict of interest or close connection to the subject.

All editors are required to comply with Wikipedia's neutral point of view content policy. People who are very close to a subject often have a distorted view of it, which may cause them to inadvertently edit in ways that make the article either too flattering or too disparaging. People with a close connection to a subject are not absolutely prohibited from editing about that subject, but they need to be especially careful about ensuring their edits are verified by reliable sources and writing with as little bias as possible.

If you are very close to a subject, here are some ways you can reduce the risk of problems:

  • Avoid or exercise great caution when editing or creating articles related to you, your organization, or its competitors, as well as projects and products they are involved with.
  • Be cautious about deletion discussions. Everyone is welcome to provide information about independent sources in deletion discussions, but avoid advocating for deletion of articles about your competitors.
  • Avoid linking to the Wikipedia article or website of your organization in other articles (see Wikipedia:Spam).
  • Exercise great caution so that you do not accidentally breach Wikipedia's content policies.

Please familiarize yourself with relevant content policies and guidelines, especially those pertaining to neutral point of view, verifiability of information, and autobiographies.

For information on how to contribute to Wikipedia when you have a conflict of interest, please see our frequently asked questions for organizations. Thank you. -- Uzma Gamal (talk) 15:57, 2 July 2012 (UTC)[reply]

References[edit]

Hi Peter. I read your post here. To help convince others that the actor topics you created meet WP:GNG (which will need to be done now that all four are at WP:AFD), you may want to remove content from the articles that is from sources connected to The Buried Life (such as MTV which produces the show). WP:GNG requires that a topic receive enough coverage in reliable sources that are independent of the subject for there to be a stand-alone article on the topic. The actors Nemtin, Lingwood, and the two Penns appear to have been generating news coverage together as a troupe since at least since 2006,[1] and I found 100+ articles mentioning Ben Nemtin, so at least the Ben Nemtin topic may meet WP:GNG. However, in the Ben Nemtin article, you chose to cite to 1. MTV,[2] which is not independent of the Ben Nemtin topic and 2. WTSP-TV,[3] which may be connected to the Ben Nemtin topic. You falsely implied in the Ben Nemtin article that the WTSP-TV reference supported the article statement, "He placed a bet of $250,000 on red and helped organize the biggest speed dating,",[4] which it does not. The WTSP-TV reference does not even mention Nemtin. The Ben Nemtin article now reads: 'Ben was born. Twenty six years later, he did the following great things.' Does that really sound like a biography to you? -- Uzma Gamal (talk) 16:23, 2 July 2012 (UTC)[reply]
