While BracketBot is quite good at determining whether brackets are mismatched, it's not as good at determinning where the problem is. That's why, instad of fixing the issue by itself, the bot only notifies a human editor. In this particular case, the two curly brackets that were mismatched were actually these ones. rail screws

Peter, I've looked around at the net to find out more on a screw. I've seen similar newer versions of this one but wanted to know how old is this and the value. The threads are more evenly twisted that the manufactured edges. The top is stamped with a letter F and is a uneven square. I'm neither a rail or automobile fan. Based on traffic statistics (http://stats.grok.se), the car maker had about 16 times as many views this month. Although traffic stats should be used cautiously, I can't see any unbiased reason to list it at the top of the articles, so I will restore them both to their former revisions. Length of a Kinki Sharyo SLRV

I'm not quite sure of this, but I believe the length of a Kinki Sharyo SLRV to be 123 feet 6 inches (37.64 m) and an original LRV (which didn't have the low-floor "C" car) to be 92 feet 8 inches (28.24 m). I'm looking principally at the Kinki Sharyo technical data and DART's factsheet for these figures. I think the confusion is coming from the fact that the SLRVs are articulated three-car "vehicles" that are commonly referred to as "cars". As far as I can tell, one three-car vehicle is the shortest train that DART can run, while the maximum theoretical length a train could be (due to platform length) is four vehicles, a total of 12 cars. I'd greatly appreciate you taking a second look at the numbers before I try to clarify them on the article. (I've additionally contacted TJH2018, who has also edited the article, about this issue.) The answer is found to be in Coal bin and talk:Coal bin#Boal bunker. It was my notion that [[coal bunker should redirect to tender (rail) but in some pages such as Russian battleship Slava that would have been nonsense. "coal bunker (coal bunker)" might be an alternative. This is tricky. A locomotive tender can have multiple functions, the most usual being to carry water and coal. It therefore usually has a water tank at the bottom and a coal bunker on top. What it does not have, is a coal bunker → coal bunker, which several of your edits made it show up as.

Hi Peter, I rolled back your edits on South African Class U 2-6-2+2-6-2.

  • A Garratt has no "coal bunker in the tender" since there is no tender.
  • The two additional mass units (long tons and metric tons) for all weight items clutter up the already huge infobox. I prefer to use long ton/Kg only, since the accurate metric ton figure is already "visible" in the Kg weight.

I noticed that SNCF 040.DF (created recently by Iain Bell) has the following in {{Infobox locomotive}}:

The first convert is broken (kw should be kW), however no error is shown on the page. It looks like the fact that "poweroutput cont" has an entry means that "poweroutput" is ignored. St. Michael's Mount Tramway's gauge

Hello again

I've stumbled across a four page article about this tramway by Peter Semmens in Railway Magazine of July 1964. He gives the gauge as 750 mm (2 ft 5+1⁄2 in). The Wikipedia article on St Michael's Mount gives the gauge as Scotch gauge, which I read as 4' 6". Is this a known debate, or even worth pursuing? Before doing anything at all one needs to create at least a stub for St. Michael's Mount Tramway, which according to the list of funicular railways is located in St Michael's Mount. To create the name I copied "St Michael's Mount" from the Wikipedia page then added " Tramway", seeking consistency. I don't understand why you "had" to create a REDIRECT article, or what you had to redirect to or from. I don't understand the "Which?" next to "gas" which suggests I used weasel words; are you seeking "Gas-turbine" or some such, or am I supposed to play guessing games? The original article, written by a respected author, simply said "...a gas engine drove the winding gear by means of a belt." The link you have added to a second online item by Hows triggers a "When we visited this site, we found it exhibited one or more risky behaviors" warning from MacAfee. Thank you for explaining, apology accepted. I wonder if you could please explain one or two things in your contributions. 1. You are much more "link aware" than I, or most authors. This seems a good way to go, but I wonder where to draw the line. For example, you edited the article to include wood and metal, but not "rotate" or "granite", which I would have thought could cause more puzzlement. 2. What English should we choose? I would have thought that the largest readership of the tramway article will be British English users, so gradient would be more natural than slope. "Slope" is of course perfectly understandable, but If you read 1000 UK railway books I'll give you a dollar for every use of "slope" if you agree to give me a cent for every use of "gradient". 3. You appear to have generated conversions of gradient from 1 in 10 to 10% etc and of horsepower to kW "by hand". Is there no Template able to do this? I've tried hard to find such things in Template:Convert, but have concluded that the explanatory pages are written to show off not to edify. @DavidAHull: Either "gradient", "slope" or "grade" would be linked as follows [[Grade (slope)|gradient]] gradient, [[Grade (slope)|slope]] slope or even [[Grade (slope)|grade]] grade. I have no personal preference but slope, gradient and grade don't quite work, just click on them. For converting hp to kW, I use template:Convert, {{convert|12|hp|kW|lk=on}} 12 horsepower (8.9 kW). Percentage is North American usage, both Canada and the US, and in this case I had to resort to my TI-36XSOLAR. Eg 100x(1:1.9) or 100x(1/1.9). There is no provision for that in template:Convert OK, "granite" → granite and "rotate" → [[Rotation|rotate]] rotate. By the way I tend to use Canadian English which resembles UK English but is strongly influenced by American English. They had a SJ B and SJ E (no English article yet) locomotive, respectively, and I have put that information in the articles. I believe they purchased the locomotives independently of each other. @ACo2c: When I opened the template there was no indication that the revision had been made. So I made it. I take it that your new article is a translation from Swedish. As far as steam locomotives are concerned there are still two red links on the template, namely E9 (ex HNJ G12) & Stortyskarna. By the way, I deem the term "metric ton" as being too American and therefore to be used in US based topics only. Everywhere else, including Canada, use "tonne". Both in Canada and in Great Britain, and in addition Australia and New Zealand, only the term tonne has legal status in commerce. Peter Horn User talk 14:54, 28 September 2017 (UTC)
Re metric tons: I actually agree with you, but this is what is produced by Template:Convert. If you know some way of changing it I will be glad to know.
Re redlinks: I can certainly try writing these articles, but they are rather randomly chosen. I would consider some others more important, but on the other hand someone must care about these types, since they have been added. I will probably start with the HNJ type.
Actually I do not translate from the Swedish Wikipedia; their articles are rarely worth it, and they use some sources that would be unpopular here (blog posts etc.). I own all the books listed as sources in "my" articles. ACo2c (talk) 15:13, 28 September 2017 (UTC)
@ACo2c: I see what happened. You used {{convert|5.2|MT|LT ST}} 5.2 metric tons (5.1 long tons; 5.7 short tons) whereas I would have used {{convert|5.2|t|LT ST}} 5.2 tonnes (5.1 long tons; 5.7 short tons). Instead of "MT" use "t" the SI symbol for "tonne".

Cherry Street Strauss Trunnion Bascule Bridge has been mentioned

Though infobox discussions are usually not fun, there is some banter going on at User talk:Eric Corbett#Infobox, and the infobox for this bridge was mentioned. A comment was made about its 'sheer length'. You appear to be the author of the particular infobox per this edit. Actually I could see the argument for shortening this infobox somewhat. (When you last touched it, it was much shorter). Of course you don't have to respond, but this seemed like a rare chance for possible meeting of the minds. Capitalization

Hi, Peter. Just writing to say please don't use a capital P if you add "parallel overhead lines" to the infoboxes of additional trolleybus-system articles. It is not a name, so the WP Manual of Style effectively says the P should be capitalized only if it is the first word of a section heading (as it is in the Overhead lines article) or the first word in an infobox field if the same infobox uses capital letters for items (which varies between articles). Please see WP:INTDABLINK. That's why the bot detected it as an error, and would have continued to do so. I've changed it to force the link you added to go via the redirect page that has "(disambiguation)" in the name, which nowadays is the way these are supposed to be done. (By the way, I have nothing to do with that bot, but am just trying to help, since I received a couple of similar error messages myself before I learned the then-new policy, a few years ago.) Un bon truc, à ma page sandbox, vous cliquez edit source, ensuite vous copiez le texte source en entier à partir de l’infobox, puis à l’article de Distribution aux Consommateurs, vous effacer le texte source en entier et vous collez le texte source de ma sandbox, cela va beaucoup mieux, j’ai bien vérifier mon texte et il n’y a pas d’erreurs, l’article sera plus complet avec les références que j’ai ajouté.

Avant d’effacer le texte source de l’article, laissez la toute première ligne de protection car elle n’est pas dans le texte source de ma sandbox.

Merci pour Distribution aux Consommateurs mais je crois que vous n’aviez pas tellement bien compris, je vais vous l’expliquer en anglais:

On my sandbox User:Avenger on wiki/sandbox, you will see an updated version of the article with corrections and more references that I added.

On my sandbox, simply click edit and copy the source text from the line of infobox (with the mouse select all text then with right click button of the mouse and click copy).

After, on the article of Consumers Distributing, click on edit, erase all the source text of the article from the infobox (don’t erase the first line), then below the first line (second line) you right click button of the mouse and click paste, after you can publish it.

If you want you can review it before but I don’t found errors.

Thank you for Consumers Distributing again but two references were not added and some characters were not added too, now you can check the sandbox that has now only paragraphs to make corrections: User:Avenger on wiki/sandbox

First paragraph on my sandbox is at the line to replace characters at « Internet shopping before the Internet », like this.

The second paragraph on my sandbox is the logo missing and removing characters " at Toy City and Toyville words.

The third paragraph on my sandbox is missing the reference from CBC News after the first sentence of that paragraph.

The fourth paragraph on my sandbox is the last sentence with reference to add in the article, for that sentence, you can modify them if you think that’s not correctly composed.

Again is easier if you copy and paste the text source like I said before, and replace the text source of the paragraphs at the right place in the text source of the article of Consumers Distributing. (I don’t know why administrators don’t like me, all that modifications are really on the web with the source I founded)
