Proposed deletion of Raymond Butt

The article Raymond Butt has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

I don't believe that he is notable enough to be on Wikipedia. He's a school teacher and part of the Royal Astronomical Society. There are many people out there that do the same. Doesn't mean that he released one book that he's become famous.

While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, pages may be deleted for any of several reasons.

In book citations, we don't link directly to online sellers or catalogues. There are two main kinds of link that we use, and the way that these are done differs according to the citation method. For plain text citations, as with this edit, we would link the title to a webpage which reproduces the actual text of the book; and if the book has an ISBN, we would put that into an {{ISBN}} template - this provides links to many catalogue services. Party piece

There are a number of people made famous from their party pieces. I think the list may be endless. I imagine a number of Britain's Got Talent were party pieces. Of interest [1]. Raymond Butt

Thanks for your work on this (also Whispyhistory and Redrose64). I've just highlighted a few issues at Template:Did you know nominations/Raymond Butt. Raymond was one of the longest serving members of the Transport Ticket Society, joining soon after the society in its present guise was formed, and we corresponded fairly regularly on ticket-related news. Although not directly ticket-related, his 1995 directory is one of the most important publications ever written by a society member, in my view (and there have been many!). BLP violating article deleted

I have deleted Priyanka Fernando under the G10 speedy criterion. You claimed that he had commanded a division which had been accused by the UNHCR of "human rights violations", but as far as I can tell none of your 5 sources make that claim. If the claim is indeed in one of these five sourecs and I missed it, then of course I or any other admin may restore the page as is. Otherwise, please take care not to post such serious negative claims without very good sources to support it. Fram (talk) 10:41, 5 March 2019 (UTC)

Please make sure that with such claims (if they even need to be included, allegations without convictions usually aren't even included) you not only include the source but make it clear which source supports the allegation, instead of dropping a number of sources at the end and let readers go on a wild goose chase for the right one. Others, however, may add that as he is one of the most well-known men in Sri Lanka and a highly controversial figure there and abroad with respect to the treatment of the Tamils.
