I notice that in this edit you changed Teddy Stauffer’s birth name from “Ernest Henry Stauffer” to “Ernst Heinrich Stauffer”. That contradicts the information in the German Wikipedia article, de:Teddy Stauffer. Lifetime

I noticed when editing you recently added the template {{Lifetime}} to an article, replacing DEFAULTSORT or categories in the process. While the template {{Lifetime}} is a useful short-cut when setting up biographies it is not generally considered wise to replace existing categories or DEFAULTSORT for a number of reasons. The chief amongst them are that the template hides information from editors and automatic processes or requires additional knowledge to understand. This is only a minor point, many thanks for your contributions to Wikipedia, please keep it up!

I can't find where anything was done after the decision to redirect it. I see it was "unredirected" arbitrarily in October 2008 after it had been redirected for 6 months following the AfD. I can't find any review following the one of February 2008. A person isn't notable because Britney Spears had a restraining order against him. Hi, I think you undid my last edit very quickly. I had provided an explanation this time. Did you read it first?. Please read the entire article, and my complete edits before undoing it again. I am going to do it again with an even better explanation. I agree that sourced material should be retained as long as the sourced material is relevant to the article.

Before my edits, the article has over 8000 characters covering the early treasure hunting days of Joseph Smith- but Joseph smith isn't liked or disliked around the world because of his early treasure hunting experiences (which ended as soon as he had adult responsibilities). Joseph smith is liked or disliked around the world for the doctrine he preached and the church he created. That is why I am taking treasure hunting out and putting the first vision in.

Patty Duke

The reference for my addition about Patty Duke is myself, Allen Astin, and The Los Angeles Superior Court. I made one minor revision and the statement is nothing but verifiable fact.

Anna was a significant influence in my life and I wish her the best...She is really a wonderful person. I also want to preface what I’m saying by sharing that I, as a thirteen year old, was one of the main proponents of the adoption and after the divorce I honored Anna’s desire for distance. Still, Anna’s new life and subsequent emotional and physical distance hurt deeply and severed feelings of trust which had a lasting impact on me (this is obviously my opinion and not fact).

The adoption of, and embracing of, three young boys and her subsequent change of heart was understandable as she wanted to start a new life, but regrettable from a parental stand point. The strong psychological and emotional effect that this had on all three of us is too subjective and I did not include this information. What I have stated are just the facts. It’s not the prettiest aspect of Anna’s history, but it happened. In society, we idolize celebrities and we don’t really want to know the truth if it is dissonant with our beliefs about them. This is natural.

Here is the revised statement:

After Duke’s divorce from Astin, Duke and the Astin boys had little or no contact. In the late 1990’s all three of the Astin boys terminated their relationship with Duke as their legal mother by being adopted by their biological mother. However, all five of the Astin boys, David, Allen, Thomas, Sean, and Mackenzie still remain close.

This statement has nothing but facts.

Fortunately my life today is very beautiful and full. As I am a product of my past, I don’t regret what happened. I also know that the truth, however painful, is freeing. Personally, I believe that one of the causes of mental illness is when an individual cannot cope with the dissonance that arises from who they actually are verses who they wish they were.

Clara Bow

Hello. I added some more material to the CB article the other day, and as usual there was a busy bee who cleaned up my mess. Thank you. However. What to do when "truth", as in the case of CB's screen debut, are split but equally sourced? As I see it you have to communicate that. If you don't, you end up a lier. CB was born 104 years ago, and as a superstar, there are a jungle of myths surrounding her. She have become a kind of "Münchhausen" figure and telling her story is not easily done without exposing contradictions and controversies. I assume your deletion of the last few lines of CB "fame and fortune" was not an expression for some Wiki policy unknown to me, like the rigid rules for using italics in quotations. my best stovelsten talk

Spencer Pratt article deletion

Just an FYI - the editor suggesting the article be deleted is a known trouble-maker and vandal. He has (a) vandalized the Pratt article more than once, and (b) has suggested at least one other established article be deleted simply because he doesn't like the person the article is about. I knew that other edit wouldn't stick, but I was trying to give people hope. A site I go to won't allow links and no one could offer these people any kind of proof. [1] looked official to me, but the moderators tend to remove links. So I never got to verify it and I was assuring everyone who posted, not having seen that, that it was official. Now I know better. It has been kind of annoying watching these people try to save their show. Several months ago it got really bad and a lot of posts had to be deleted.

use of term "blacklisted"

I'm not going to get into the details of the value of the link, as it appears to have already been addressed. However, I will say that it appears that the term "blacklisted" is wrongly being used to describe the link - it's more accurate to say the link is on a "spamlist". Any site on either the local or meta blacklist would not be possible to add to any article - the mediawiki software won't allow a page to be saved if a blacklisted site is added. The fact that the site can be added is evidence that it's not on the official blacklists at this time. However, the site does appear to have been added to Xlinkbot, which automatically removes links to sites that have been reported as having been abusively spammed in the past.

Still, abusive use in the past isn't in-and-of-itself a reason to remove new additions of the link, and the only person posting about it on the talk page so far appears to be the person adding it. I have seen good arguments at WP:ANI for why the link isn't appropriate - but those discussions should be taking place on the article talk page, as the edit summary comments are resulting in a developing edit war. --- Barek (talk • contribs) - 04:19, 24 November 2009 (UTC)

It says in the "death" section of the article that he was found dead on the 28th, but it also says that his friends couldn't reach him for a few days before that. The Beautiful Life - Reliability of sources.

With reference to your recent reversion of edits on The Beautiful Life, can you please tell me where on Wikipedia it says that the News of the World and associated publications cannot be used as reliable sources? You claim in your edit summary that, because it is a tabloid, it is not a reliable source. However, WP:RS makes no mention of any such guideline, and it seems to be simply a statement of your own particular opinion. As a published mainstream national newpaper, the News of the World (and any associated publications) clearly have editorial review, and are generally available. Take a read of WP:RS, and you will see that it states "Material from mainstream news organizations is welcomed, particularly the high-quality end of the market." Nowhere does it say that material from news publications perceived as being tabloids cannot be used - In fact, no mention at all is made of the acceptability or otherwise of such publications, and no differentiation is made between tabloids and broadsheets. Indeed, if you look at http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikipedia:News_sources/Europe#UK, it clearly lists The Sun, which is the News of the World's parent publication, as a source that editors can use to research current events and news stories. Would it be there if it was not considered a reliable source? I think it is clear that it wouldn't, so why are you questioning the reliability of the quoted source?

Also, you removed information sourced from an official Twitter page. While it is true that, ordinarily, such pages cannot be used as sources for articles, WP:RS does contain an exception, as it states "Never use self-published books, zines, websites, webforums, blogs and tweets as a source for material about a living person, unless written or published by the subject of the biographical material." As the Twitter page in question is the official page of one of the cast members from the show, and directly relates to a show in which they star, I believe that this exception could well apply - Maybe it needs a loose interpretation of the guidelines, but WP:RS is a guideline and not a rule. And the article did state that it was something posted by the person in question on their Twitter page, so the source attribution was clear and unambiguous.

As for your other reason for removing information, that again seems to be simply a matter of your own personal opinion. Personally, I believe that, as it is something directly linked to the show, it is relevant and should be included. Maybe the subject of inclusion or otherwise needs to be taken to the article's talk page to see what other people think? With regard to that, I've opened a discussion on the article's talk page. Tense for non-airing TV series

Hello Pinkadelica,

With reference to your recent change of the tense in the first sentence of Ozark Jubilee from was to is, I appreciate your rationale that "episodes still exist." None has been broadcast since 1960, however, and the 42 existing kinescopes (copies, technically) are in storage at UCLA. The Jubilee certainly no longer exists as a chronological series, and I think there is zero chance it will ever be aired again. Since the programs cannot be viewed (and have not been for nearly 50 years), I wonder if the past tense might be more accurate? I recognize this is a somewhat esoteric question, but I am asking in terms of what would give the reader the most accurate information; and to me, saying a program is suggests it may be accessible somewhere for the reader.

I also recognize this is not a really big deal, but I would welcome your thoughts. May I additionally compliment your user page as very nicely-designed?

I would like your opinion/support

Hi Pinkadelica. I hope things are going well for you. I wanted you're own opinion in a current situation that has been going on. Currently Beyonce Knowles has Native American categories in which she applies for because she is of native blood which is properly cited. 2 users seem to be persistant on wanting them removed but want the African American categories to stay. I have no problem with either African/Native American categories being there because she is descended from both. I really would like your opinion on this situation see here:[2]. Hi. Let me explain why John Leslie Coogan, II is preferable and technically accurate, as opposed to John Leslie Coogan, Jr.

As his own bio states: "Jackie Coogan was born in Los Angeles, California, to John Henry Coogan, Jr. (also known as "Big Jack" or "Jack, Sr.") (1886–1935), the son of John Henry Coogan, Sr. (1853–1932), and Lilian Rita Dolliver Coogan (1892––1977, birth also has been listed at 1895)."

Thus, his father was John Henry Coogan Jr., son of John Henry Coogan, Sr. If Jackie Coogan was named for someone (hence the Jr.), it was not his paternal father or grandfather, thus he is not John Leslie Coogan Jr. (he would have been John Henry Coogan III), but rather John Leslie Coogan II.

Thank you so much for you removing that edit and for that honest comment you made in Mariah Carey single, " Honey". 190fordhouse is always making those bad edits on dates for album releases and recording times on so many music pages. I always have to undo their edits and despite my efforts to try communicating with them, they ignore warnings and have continued for months to make far-fetched edits such as the one you corrected. It has been tiring and I'm glad to have help with that. This person also sockpuppets under 2 other profiles. Cash Warren image

I think the man in the image does look like Cash Warren but like you said the image description does not mention him. Because of this ambiguity, I agree that this image should be removed from the article. Most, if not all, actors/actresses have an IMDB profile from where you can get their list of acting credits. There wouldn't be so many pages that listed them. I was also in the middle of edits when you sent yet another message. The race of the actress and unofficial links were being taken out. As for the list of acting credits, they provide much more information than the edit of the unregistered user.

Pinkadelica, please cite examples of your last point, that "in some cases, no additional sources can be found or else I would've cited something else." This would be very helpful to your point, and to the discussion here. There has been substantive discussion about the reliability of EInsiders as a source. Any editor is free to contest and remove unreferenced information in any article -- which leads me to believe that if there is no other source for information besides an unreliable source, then perhaps the information doesn't belong in the article. 842U (talk) 05:38, 17 February 2010 (UTC)

I was asked to provide as much information as I could on who, what, where and how EInsiders publishes information so these particular Wiki editors could "determine" if EInsiders meets the Wiki guidelines. What did I get for going out and accumulating the info? Well, they used it to say that I now know "too much" about EInsiders and there just "must be" a conflict of interest. See? Damned if you do, damned if you don't. Unfortunately for them, I don't think they realized that there is almost 10 years of obits that will have to be deleted off Wiki because of their personal vendetta against EInsiders including .jpgs of the deceased that were taken from EInsider's website. Also, 842U, you say that "perhaps the info doesn't belong in the "article." Well, without EInsiders, there would NOT BE an article. Which is fine, because Wikipedia, unlike EIsiders.com, isn't in the business of regurgitating the obituaries of dead celebrities. That said, I suspect the family of Pernell Roberts could care less.

EInsiders does not transparently, for all to understand, describe it's process of creating obituaries, it doesn't describe its staff, its credentials, its facilities, its history, its anything. We know it doesn't magically appear at every celebrity death to transcribe the information — that would be like the Santa Claus of Death. It gets its information somewhere — and just doesn't say where it gets it from. So like the theoretically problematic photo information you've fretted over, I suspect that some poor soul at EInsiders sifts through the ancient public domain obituaries of dead celebrities, repackages them, and spits them out. Or in the case of a currently dead celebrity, Pernell Roberts, for example, they pull a few bits of information off a current wire feed, throw in the breezy, blithe reminiscenses of a... just, say... Kathy, Jonathan or David, and send them out. They ain't painting the Sistine Chapel, that's for sure. Camera setup in Infoboxes

In regard to the mention that "Film" should be in the picture format section on Infobox Television; technically, it should be applicable to the camera setup section as the use of "Film" or "Videotape" next to the words "Multi-camera" or "Single-camera" refers to what type of camera is used to shoot the program based on the recordable product it uses, and therefore what it is shot on either videotape or film. The picture format section should generally refer to the screen resolution (480i, 720p, 1080i, etc.) and picture size (4:3, 16:9, etc.), not really what type of camera is used to shoot a particular program. You actually don't think the fact that Kelly's sister was nominated for an Academy Award for Best Actress should be mentioned in an article about him? One of the most interesting and talked-about facets of Kelly's life was the fact that he found himself placed into competition with a phenomenally popular star at the beginning of what amounted at the time to a national craze (James Garner) eight shows into the series and was roundly overshadowed, and that he'd already spent his life in the shadow of his older sister Nancy, who'd been leading lady in top-drawer movies in the 1930s and was nominated for an Oscar the year before "Maverick" began production. To simply omit any reference to this whatsoever seems irresponsible, bordering on vandalism. As for including some detail about "Maverick" in an article about Kelly, it was not only his professional height but the only reason he's noticed at all today, to the paltry extent that he is--if "Maverick" had never been filmed, you'd doubtless be challenging the existence of any article about Kelly on the grounds that he lacks the importance to merit one. It is easy to procrastinate on this one. There is so much that was "cut and pasted" from other un-cited sources, it really isn't funny. I think I cut the article in half just getting rid of the stuff that could not be cited. I guess I'm going to have to write some new material now to replace it. On the article's talk page, I think I understand why that recent addition was intially reverted, (it might have looked like they were trying to use the talk page to host their own version of the article or something, or using it as some sort of forum) but in the future, please don't revert it unless it is an obvious violation of WP:Talk. I'm trying to get the IPs invovled to use the talk page, and they're saying "We tried, but Pinkadelica reverted us..." I think what they were trying to do was to show what they wanted to be put in the article along with their sources. I work at WP:RFPP quite a bit, and understand that many of these articles about TV shows and albums and so on can get crazy, but for future reference or whatever, at least in that case, please don't revert talk page posts like that. Recommend blocking?

The IP address 98.225.234.245 won't stop putting the info on "That Christmas Feeling" on the Simon Birch page when it is a 2009 song, not from 10 years ago. I've reverted it 3 times in 5 days and it won't stop placing it back on and you are the last one to undo it. Can you get an admin to block the address to stop excessive vandalism? I have seen the episode in question several times. I do not agree that the possibility of the two series disconnecting themselves is automatically negated by the fact that the line in question was a joke -- particularly since there was no reference to Joan or anyone else from Girlfriends in any episode of The Game after the former series' cancellation. You are being very rude. I was trying to make the page simple, clear, and concise. Having the marriage template does not matter as long as the information is there and it is clear. Seeing how the marriage of Edie Sedgwick and Michael Post lasted only four months of the year 1971; "1971-1971" a.k.a "Married from the year 1971 to 1971" is confusing and it does not project the reason for this short union (Sedgwick's death). 1971 and 1971 are NOT two separate years and so, the marriage template does not work in this case. The marriage template works in most cases; not in this one. If you'd be happy to, I would gladly send this conflict to the Wikipedia contact department and have THEM decide who is correct- as I see that you will not agree with me, as I will not agree with you.
