June 2020[edit]

Information icon Hello. Thank you for your contributions to Wikipedia.

When editing Wikipedia, there is a field labeled "Edit summary" below the main edit box. It looks like this:

Edit summary (Briefly describe your changes)

I noticed your recent edit to Chief Whip of the Labour Party does not have an edit summary. Please be sure to provide a summary of every edit you make, even if you write only the briefest of summaries. The summaries are very helpful to people browsing an article's history.

Edit summary content is visible in:

Please use the edit summary to explain your reasoning for the edit, or a summary of what the edit changes. With a Wikipedia account you can give yourself a reminder to add an edit summary by setting Preferences → Editing → check Prompt me when entering a blank edit summary. Thanks! And thirded. You are still linking places like London and England unnecessarily. Ghmyrtle (talk) 12:38, 29 October 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Preview – Consolidate – Summarize[edit]

Below are a few editing suggestions to make it easier for you and others to collaborate on the encyclopedia. Please preview, consolidate, and summarize your edits:

  • Try to consolidate your edits, at least at the section level, to avoid cluttering the page's edit history; this makes it easier for your fellow editors to understand your intentions, and makes it easier for those monitoring activity on the article.
    • The show preview button (beside the "publish changes" button) is helpful for this; use it to view your changes incrementally before finally saving the page once you're satisfied with your edits.
  • Please remember to explain each edit with an edit summary (box above the "publish changes" button).

Thanks in advance for considering these suggestions. Eric talk 20:54, 29 June 2020 (UTC)[reply]

August 2020[edit]

Information icon Hello, I'm Neveselbert (mobile). I noticed that you recently removed content from Boris Johnson without adequately explaining why. In the future, it would be helpful to others if you described your changes to Wikipedia with an accurate edit summary. If this was a mistake, don't worry; the removed content has been restored. If you would like to experiment, please use your sandbox. If you think I made a mistake, or if you have any questions, you can leave me a message on my talk page. Thanks. ‑‑Neveselbert (mobile) (talk · contribs · email) 18:35, 29 August 2020 (UTC)[reply]

October 2020[edit]

Please review the guidelines at Wikipedia:Citing sources and take this opportunity to add references to the article. Thank you. An automated process has detected that when you recently edited Newcastle upon Tyne, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Labour.

Sockpuppet investigation[edit]

An editor has opened an investigation into sockpuppetry by you. Sockpuppetry is the use of more than one Wikipedia account in a manner that contravenes community policy. The investigation is being held at Wikipedia:Sockpuppet investigations/Politialguru, where the editor who opened the investigation has presented their evidence. Please make sure you make yourself familiar with the guide to responding to investigations, and then feel free to offer your own evidence or to submit comments that you wish to be considered by the Wikipedia administrator who decides the result of the investigation. If you have been using multiple accounts (in a manner contrary to Wikipedia policy), please go to the investigation page and verify that now. Leniency is usually shown to those who promise not to do so again, or who did so unwittingly, but the abuse of multiple accounts is taken very seriously by the Wikipedia community.

ArbCom 2020 Elections voter message[edit]

Hello! Voting in the 2020 Arbitration Committee elections is now open until 23:59 (UTC) on Monday, 7 December 2020. All eligible users are allowed to vote. Users with alternate accounts may only vote once.

The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to impose binding solutions to disputes between editors, primarily for serious conduct disputes the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the authority to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail.

If you wish to participate in the 2020 election, please review the candidates and submit your choices on the voting page. If you no longer wish to receive these messages, you may add {{NoACEMM}} to your user talk page. MediaWiki message delivery (talk) 02:57, 24 November 2020 (UTC)[reply]

How did you calm this guy down? Nikkimaria is the most obnoxious editor I have encountered. Could you please help me? He is making me miserable. A. Julian 19:19, 29 December 2020 (UTC)

For the record[edit]

For the record, although you should be fully aware of this: you, as an individual, were blocked indefinitely. If you wish to edit again, plead your case and unless and until you are released, you must not edit. It's as simple as that. Running a succession of WP:SOCKPUPPETs and IP socks is hardly a way to further your cause.

You may have been under the impression that your continued IP editing was going unnoticed over the last few months but it was blindingly obvious and not just to me. Little of the editing appeared anything more than bafflingly pointless but I gave you the benefit of the doubt over most of it. It is clear this was unwarranted. Nobody should be expected to have to sift the good from the bad in your edits, or the pointless from the bad as it really is. Mutt Lunker (talk) 20:07, 23 August 2021 (UTC)[reply]
