Personal attacks[edit]

The editor is beyond help, and keep your opinion and your personal attacks to yourself.--Bbb23 (talk) 23:42, 12 April 2012 (UTC)[reply]

I don't know how you can come to the conclusion that the editor is beyond help when you haven't bothered your backside to try. Pyrrhus16 23:48, 12 April 2012 (UTC)[reply]
You really should review her history - my conclusion is quite well supported. And in the interest of full disclosure, I have reported her to WP:ANI and referred to my diff and your diff as part of my post. I don't mention you by name in the body of the post, but the diff, of course, shows your name.--Bbb23 (talk) 00:05, 13 April 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Your HighBeam account is ready![edit]

Good news! You now have access to 80 million articles in 6500 publications through HighBeam Research. Here's what you need to know:

  • Your account activation code has been emailed to your Wikipedia email address.
    • Only 407 of 444 codes were successfully delivered; most failed because email was simply not set up (You can set it in Special:Preferences).
    • If you did not receive a code but were on the approved list, add your name to this section and we'll try again.
  • The 1-year, free period begins when you enter the code.
  • To activate your account: 1) Go to http://www.highbeam.com/prof1; 2) You’ll see the first page of a two-page registration. 3) Put in an email address and set up a password. (Use a different email address if you signed up for a free trial previously); 4) Click “Continue” to reach the second page of registration; 5) Input your basic information; 6) Input the activation code; 7) Click “Finish”. Note that the activation codes are one-time use only and are case-sensitive.
  • If you need assistance, email "help at highbeam dot com", and include "HighBeam/Wikipedia" in the subject line. Or go to WP:HighBeam/Support, or ask User:Ocaasi. Please, per HighBeam's request, do not call the toll-free number for assistance with registration.
  • A quick reminder about using the account: 1) try it out; 2) provide original citation information, in addition to linking to a HighBeam article; 3) avoid bare links to non-free HighBeam pages; 4) note "(subscription required)" in the citation, where appropriate
  • HighBeam would love to hear feedback at WP:HighBeam/Experiences
  • Show off your HighBeam access by placing {{User:Ocaasi/highbeam_userbox}} on your userpage
  • When the 1-year period is up, check applications page to see if renewal is possible. We hope it will be.

Thanks for helping make Wikipedia better. Enjoy your research! Cheers, Ocaasi t | c 20:57, 13 April 2012 (UTC)[reply]

FAC[edit]

Hi Pyrrhus, great work on E.T. the Extra-Terrestrial (album). I'm not sure if you've seen yet, but I put down some comments and questions at FAC yesterday. I've also got an article up for review, in fact directly above yours in the listings: FAC/Cracker Barrel Old Country Store. It's somewhat unusual as a FAC, because the topic is somewhat contentious (the company history includes discrimination claims), and because a significant contributor was hired to research and rewrite it (that would be me). My contract with them has since expired, but I've been helping this process at the margins with Silver seren and other volunteers who are now making the direct edits. I think we're getting pretty close, but If you get a chance to give it a look, we'd certainly appreciate it. Cheers, WWB Too (talk) 17:37, 6 May 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks. I'll go and address the comments you left at the E.T. FAC, and then read and review the Cracker Barrel article. :) Pyrrhus16 19:18, 6 May 2012 (UTC)[reply]
Hello, Pyrrhus16. You have new messages at Wikipedia:Featured article candidates/Cracker Barrel Old Country Store/archive1.

Here We Go Again (Ray Charles song)[edit]

Since you have an album at FAC, you are surely familiar with the types of issues that might be relevant to the "Here We Go Again (Ray Charles song)" FAC nomination. Can I request that you make some comments.--TonyTheTiger (T/C/BIO/WP:CHICAGO/WP:FOUR) 21:38, 6 May 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Sure. I'm away to bed just now but will take a look tomorrow morning. Thanks. Pyrrhus16 22:27, 6 May 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Omer Bhatti[edit]

Do you think this is a canard? There are several rumours about Michael Jackson's presumed fourth son. Though nothing has been proven so far, it is worth mentioning as such, especially since Michael Jackson's own father confirms it. The Wiki ghost (talk) 07:59, 28 May 2012 (UTC)[reply]

WP:FOUR RFC[edit]

There are two WP:RFCs at WP:FOUR. The first is to conflate issues so as to keep people from expressing meaningful opinions. The second, by me, is claimed to be less than neutral by proponents of the first. Please look at the second one, which I think is much better.--TonyTheTiger (T / C / WP:FOUR / WP:CHICAGO / WP:WAWARD) 07:19, 20 August 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Hi,
You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. If you wish to participate, you are welcome to review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page.
