P.S Am I using the tildes correctly?

Yes, you are. :) You don't have to press "enter" or "paragraph" mark before the tildes (which will bring them to a new line), but just a space between your text and the tildes will do. Happy editing! Rasnaboy (talk) 01:24, 28 February 2023 (UTC)

Edits to main Gita page

Dear Rasnaboy - I don't know why you deleted my edits on the Gita. I created a small section at the top to provide links to 4 notable translations of the Gita. It's a less cumbersome a form of disambiguation. When people are searching for the Gita, they may have a specific translation in mind. There is a chart deep in the article that lists many translations, that includes wiki links to those same 4 translation, but it's very obscure. Please, let's talk about this - I think it's a good feature for this article.

The other edit you deleted was a short few sentences about Christopher Isherwood's essay, ''The Gita and War''. I don't know what the objection would be, it's a valid point of view by a notable translator of the ''Gita'', set in an appropriate section of the article. I think it's an important perspective as some people think the Gita story promotes war, and Isherwood, being a CO in WWII, argues that it is neither pro- or anti- war, but is about doing your Dharma.

As the Gita is scripture, it should not be taken literally. The battle and the field are metaphors for the battle of good vs. evil within ourselves. The Gita says the "field" is the body.

Let's talk. Best, Ellis408 (talk) 17:01, 4 March 2023 (UTC)

Dear User:Ellis408. Before I could read this, I saw others responding to your comment on the article's talk page. So I'm replying here. First of all I thank you for your efforts in improving the article. However, the general structure of an article is defined by some guidelines in Wikipedia (please see WP:MOS). We cannot have links suddenly appearing anywhere on the screen. Like other users said, please familiarize yourself with these guidelines (WP:Contributing to Wikipedia, WP:NPOV, etc.). Also you seems more knowledgeable on the subject of Gita, so with more familiarity with these Wiki guidelines I'm sure you can help us build the article to a great extent. Looking forward to working with you. Cheers. Rasnaboy (talk) 03:18, 5 March 2023 (UTC)

Dear Rasnaboy,

Please see discussion at Reversions of edits by Ellis408 to Gita main page

Noogenesis

Hello! Can you help restore the article "Noogenesis", which was, but then it was unreasonably merged, redirected to the "Noosphere". The concept, in my opinion, is important, has analogues in the fr es pt Wiki, the restoration of the article is necessary for further editing. DoubleNoo (talk) 20:14, 24 February 2023 (UTC)

Sorry for the late reply. I have to admit that I don't have much idea about this (perhaps the reason why I failed to give an early reply; sorry about that). If you have enough reliable source materials, you can go ahead and write the content by removing the redirection syntax. However, I see that page has earlier been nominated for deletion, so please read these links (Previous deletion discussion and Noogenesis Talk discussions) before you proceed with that to get an idea. I made a suggestion on the Sikhism wiki but no one has responded and can’t change myself as is a protected page. what should I do? could you read my suggestion and changed it if you see fit to do so as I believe it is the right thing to do? Dopplegangman (talk) 11:37, 27 May 2023 (UTC)

Hi, there! Just read your suggestions on the talk page, and I must admit that I don't have much of an idea about the Sarbloh Granth or the Dasam Granth texts. It's a good idea to wait until someone who has knowledge on it replies. If you still haven't got any reply for a pretty long time, you can take it to the talk page of respective WikiProjects (in this case, it's WP:WikiProject Sikhism). As for alcohol consumption, our own observations cannot be included as part of the encyclopedic content; we need reliable sources backing that claim. Please try to find a reliable source before adding or changing anything. Rasnaboy (talk) 13:02, 27 May 2023 (UTC)
How long should I wait before doing so it has been 7 days——— Dopplegangman (talk) 20:23, 28 May 2023 (UTC)
Sometimes it might take weeks or even months before we get a reply. Nevertheless, if you want to take it to wider attention, you can take it to the related WikiProject page or pages or, if it is a dispute or needs immediate attention, you can check out this: Wikipedia talk:Noticeboard for India-related topics. Hope this helps. Rasnaboy (talk) 02:12, 29 May 2023 (UTC)

The Sengol Article

Greetings Rasnaboy. Kindly have a look at this. One particular editor, who has been editing almost exclusively on it, has added a piece from Scroll by a student of jamia millia islamia, as an instance of criticism, and passed it off as an example of the current dispensation trying to create a concept of "Hindu Rashtra". The article itself is fraught with assumptions and almost spews venom.NYCLover2016 (talk) 14:48, 7 June 2023 (UTC)

Sorry for the late reply. I see the information is only attributed as "Further, others have noted that...", so am not removing it now. I'm not sure either whether "Scroll" is a WP:RS. Have inquired on the article's talk page. On a personal observation, the linked Scroll article seems more link an opinion piece than a reliable news. Rasnaboy (talk) 06:27, 9 June 2023 (UTC)

NRT-DEL

Hey there! I've noticed that you've edited a lot of articles which I view everyday. I'm sorry if I'm late but on 15th May, 2023, I edited Indira Gandhi International Airport (DEL) article and I had added Narita International Airport as a destination of Japan Airlines along with Tokyo-Haneda. But it isn't my fault because I had checked NRT articke but it was clearly written in "Airlines and destinations" that Japan Airlines operates NRT-DEL flights, so can you please provide me a source of that being false? (Please don't take it negative, I'm not doubting your edits, but I just wanted the source). Advit Das 2010 (talk) 18:57, 19 May 2023 (UTC)

Hi. Warm welcome to Wikipedia. As far as I remember, I haven't edited Indira Gandhi Intl' Airport article much (or maybe not at all). I see another editor (User Altoumulus) has reverted your edits. With whatever little I know about these, in general, airlines and destinations often keep changing as airlines change their schedules. So it's better to stick to the existing sources or provide source for every new addition. If you have source for your addition, please feel free to add it back with the source. Rasnaboy (talk) 02:17, 20 May 2023 (UTC)
Hi! I am really sorry, as far as I remember, I had sent this message to User Altoumulus, but I can't remember how did I send this to you. Anyways, sorry and thank you. Advit Das 2010 (talk) 19:42, 21 May 2023 (UTC)
And one more thing, I don't know you that much, but still I wanted to know, what are the things I can write in my user page? Advit Das 2010 (talk) 19:46, 21 May 2023 (UTC)
To be honest, despite editing Wikipedia for more than 16 or 17 years now, I haven't used my user page effectively yet. One of my kind-hearted senior editors created it for me with my username, perhaps to make my credentials appear with a blue link (rather than a red link), an act that I later mimicked with some of the junior editors who I mentored. Other than this, my userpage has remained literally unused for all these years. You can check out these pages for more info: Wikipedia:User pages and Wikipedia:How to use your user space. Hello Sir The Wikipedia user Capitals00 is continuously editing wrong information on pages especially releted to 'Hindu Monarchs' and releted to them by adding hate words and unsourced statements as he now doing on the page of Mughal - Maratha wars where he didn't provided any single source and blanked most of the page including Result of it.when i undid his revision by asking him sources then instead of providing sources he undid my revision and stored his edit without providing any single resource! This is somehow close to Dictatership as his edits are more than 5000 so now he misusing his powers by deleting others history perticularaly 'Hindu Community' for his relegious agenda. So kindly look at this and take immediate action on him. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Aryan330 (talkcontribs) 09:43, 14 June 2023 (UTC)

Hi, I'm sure you had a reason to undo the whitelist I added to "Rare Earth hypothesis" but that re-introduced the error (which is, granted, harmless) and landed the page back on the "Category:Harv and Sfn no-target errors" list. Andy02124 (talk) 16:32, 22 June 2023 (UTC)

theatre of madness tour

Hello I am pretty new to Wikipedia and I have moved on from editing to creating pages on Wikipedia. Problem is my pages are being deleted almost immediately. Instead of deleting all of my work perhaps you can tell me exactly what I need to fix? Just imagine how frustrating it must feel when you spend a lot of time on your work and a day later all of it is gone! I am pretty much fed up with this page and honestly I feel like quitting Mpdaly567! (talk) 15:59, 26 July 2023 (UTC)

Hello @Mpdaly567!:. Extremely sorry for the delayed reply. I understand how frustrating it would be when the articles that we create get deleted instantly. I can't tell exactly what went wrong without seeing what you did there, but the best way to deal with this is to first understand the basic rules of Wikipedia (these are available via the links found in the "Welcome" message on your talk page). Please go through how to create an article (better using a new article creation wizard) and cite sources. One of the best ways to understand the basics is to first edit the existing articles and then create new articles once you get the hang of all the basics. Please ping me or any other editor if you need assistance. Happy to help you. Cheers. Rasnaboy (talk) 06:10, 25 August 2023 (UTC)

Re your note to me on 24/08/2023.

My literary and computer skills are not of a sufficiently high standard to contribute to horse racing articles on wikipedia. I could do basic research off-line limited to material that is not behind pay walls. I have a modest library of some 200 books on horseracing mainly covering North America, Europe and Australasia which include racing manuals and turf registers covering the period before widespread computerisation of horse racing records. I have done online searches of all countries where there is/was group/grade 1 racing except South America, and have quite an extensive data base of material. I have done some original research which is unsuitable for posting on wikipedia as original research is not published which is why I have published material on the website I referred to which is closing shortly. Tom (USA) Rolfe (talk) 00:46, 25 August 2023 (UTC)

Hi. Thank you for your interest and contributions. Please go through citing sources, citing printed materials (books, journals, newspapers, magazines, etc.) in particular, before editing so that all your additions will be backed by reliable sources. Happy editing! Rasnaboy (talk) 05:19, 25 August 2023 (UTC)

Altering of page dating style

Hi. I recently undid an edit you made to the Muslim invasion of the Indian subcontinent page as it goes against WP:ERA guidelines. The page was originally written in the BC/AD style and, minus one or two references to CE which users have put in over time, the page was stable using this style. Your edit claimed to 'standardise' the dating style in use, but in reality you merely replaced all references from AD to CE. Dating styles on pages should not be arbitrarily changed and the style first used by the page is the one that predominates. Its an easy mistake to make and one I have done in the past so wanted to make you aware. Thanks. Theworks84 (talk) 16:23, 2 September 2023 (UTC)

Thanks for the message. There were actually some inconsistencies (both CE and AD being used). I should've made them all to "AD" given their numbers but did the other way round. Thanks for correcting. Rasnaboy (talk) 16:28, 2 September 2023 (UTC)

Related Ethnic Groups - Tamil Brahmin

This is a repost just so you know as it was rudely deleted by another user (who is no longer active)

No other brahmin community's wiki article seems to have the issue that I am about to list below.

I just wanted to highlight that the "Related Ethnic Groups" section is, upon reading the article and considering many events in history, quite controversial. For the record, I will be using "community" and "ethnicity" interchangeably in this post. Although it is not directly stated, it gives the reader an impression that "Tamil People" are a monolithic "ethnicity" who follow the same customs, have similar genetics and share a cultural bond. This may be true for the majority of Tamil speakers, who have intermarried and shared cultural, societal and linguistic bonds with each other regardless of whatever community they hail from, however it is definitely not applicable in the case of the Brahmins. First of all, it is not fully made clear in the article whether the "Tamil people" that are referred in this sense are an "ethnic group" or are just people who speak the Tamil language. Assuming the latter is the case, as it makes more sense, that makes Tamil just a language which should be acknowledged. Referring to all speakers as one monolithic identity of "Tamil people" disregards all the drastic differences there is between communities. In the case of the Brahmins, Tamil is simply just a language and nothing more. It may vary per individual and their upbringing however as a community, the language Sanskrit is given equal or if not more importance as correctly highlighted in the article. In contrast to this, most Tamil ethnicities only regard Tamil as their language of prime importance and nothing else; most prayers are only recited in Tamil and Vedic related customs are pretty much unknown to most of the local folk, who comprise most the demographic of Tamils. Tamil Brahmins, on top of this, also have their own unique dialect of Tamil that they had developed upon entry to the Tamil Country, where a significant portion of the language takes influence from Sanskrit, the tongue that is important and native to Brahmins in general. This distinct dialect, is known as Brahmnik or Brahmin Tamil, which again is mentioned in the article. Without going into too much detail, Brahmins have always been bilingual by being able to speak or at least have knowledge of Sanskrit and by being able to speak Tamil. This is the linguistic differences between Tamils and Tamil Brahmins. The cultural differences are vast. They are different in origins, in linguistics and in nature. The Brahmins are the custodians of the Vedic works, their ancestors had developed the works and it's under their good right to keep it well preserved. The general culture of Brahmins are in essence Vedic. The origin of Vedism, I am aware that Vedism is no longer in its pure form but I am referring to it as worship around the Vedic gods, works and practises, is from the north west of India and is, once again, not followed by or native to the Tamils. The culture of Brahmins "may" overlap with that of the natives, but this is very rarely the case. Even the biggest Tamil function, "Thai Pongal" is celebrated throughout India as Makar Shankranthi, Lohri etc.. so it isn't only a "Tamil" oriented festival that the Brahmins have adopted. The Brahmins follow the Manusmriti, which is rejected by most the natives as they feel they are unjustly treated by its stated rules. The Brahmins follow an extremely strict "Gotra system" which is an unbroken paternal lineage descending directly from one of the Sapta Rishis. This is a Vedic practise and is extremely important in marital affairs in North India and Brahmins till this day. The Gotras can be traced directly back to where they originated from, in other words directly indicating where the ancestors of that particular Gotra came from. For most Tamil Brahmin Vadama Iyers and Iyengars, this would lead back to Haryana's Dhoshi Hills where Rishi Bhrigu was recorded of dwelling. For some it takes them to the banks of the river Saraswati before it dried up. It changes based on Gotra. The Gotra system, in some ways, has links to genetic haplogroups that have been discovered in more recent times with the help of modern technology, which leads me on to my next point. The Brahmins have different genetics to native Tamils. Although this is a highly controversial topic, which for some weird reason many right wingers seem to take offence in, it is proven by many individuals who are qualified and well researched into the study of genetics and how DNA works. The likes of Razib Khan on Brown Pundits, ArainGang on Twitter/Medium, various studies conducted like the Narasimhan papers, the HarappaWorld GEDmatch pages etc the list goes on. If you want me to summarise the overall results and save you the research then here you are: An average Tamil/South Indian is comprised of around: 25-30% Baloch/Neolithic Iranian Farmer DNA 0-5% Steppe DNA 55-80% ASI (Ancestral South Indian DNA) (middle castes have about 50-60 ish% while lowers have 65+)

↵While an average Tamil Brahmin genetically clusters with middle-upper caste North Indians, other Brahmin groups and in some cases, even Northwest Indian groups like the Kashmiri Pandits. An average Tamil Brahmin is comprised of around: 35-40% Baloch/Neolithic Iranian Farmer DNA 15-20% Steppe DNA 35-45% ASI DNA

↵Just for comparison purposes, an average Punjabi (not outliers e.g. Jatts, Rors) is comprised of: 40-45% Baloch/Neolithic DNA 20-25% Steppe DNA 25-35% ASI DNA

↵Although the Brahmins may have, in some cases, native maternal haplogroups, so do most Indians. The paternal haplogroups of Brahmins however are mostly that of R1a, G2a and certain others that are not found within Tamils who have predominantly the native haplogroups L, M and H. Regardless, Brahmins are the outliers in virtually all states compared to the natives except Northwest India. Any work on South Asian genetics recognises Brahmins as their own cluster/group and are genetically distant from their neighbours, in this case the Tamils.

↵With all of this stated it is highly questionable to link Tamil people and Tamil Brahmins together as "related ethnic groups" just because they speak the same language. They are more related to each other and North Indians, in terms of culture, religious practices, language (Sanskrit), genetics and history (many Brahmins had migrated in waves to South India upon the invitations of Kings of the time, due to beliefs of them bringing good fortune and prosperity for the temples and general land; this is backed by various inscriptions and copper plate markings gifted to these Brahmins arriving from the banks of the modern day river Yamuna, the same has also been recorded from the river Saraswati in today's Kashmir and Haryana). So to conclude, it is not only overlooking all these differences, but is also in some ways disrespectful to just lump Tamil Brahmin culture and lifestyle to that of Tamils in general. They are distinct, they deserve to be acknowledged as such. I personally feel, if you feel it too troublesome to replace it with Pancha Gauda Brahmins or Brahmins in general, then at least remove the existing link to "Tamil People" in general. Hope you take this rather heartfelt plea into account and act on it where possible. Temporary 1010 (talk) 20:39, 6 August 2023 (UTC)

Sorry for the late reply. The article is about a particular community in the society and its cultural significance in the social sphere. I fear these needless technical details that drifts away from the topic are considered WP:UNDUE. These are generally considered WP:OR, and without proper sources and consensus these will normally be removed. I suggest you start a discussion in the article's talk page and obtain consensus before adding or changing anything. Thanks. Rasnaboy (talk) 03:47, 24 August 2023 (UTC)
They are not "needless technical details" they are the very origins of Brahmin groups. ALL brahmins have openly claimed descent from the Sapta Rishis who were native to the Sapta Sindhu region which is in modern day Haryana. Most Brahmin gotras lead back to the said place.
I feel you are overlooking such obvious details just to push this notion that Brahmins and Tamil people are "one".
That is a very false sentiment, and it has been proven right throughout history with every group practising rigid endogamy to maintain distinctness. Brahmins have always affiliated with the Vedic culture and the Sanskrit language; the only commonality between the natives and Brahmins were that both were able to speak the regional language to communicate, in this case that language is Tamil.
Proper sources are from direct geneticists like Razib Khan. There are Admixtools from Harvard Labs with data that prove a North Indian Brahmin origin and migration of the modern day southern brahmins. There are other websites with various calculators and models like genoplot.com that can show the same.
I am not sure of your agenda, I am not going to think you have one, so I request you stop reverting my edits unless you have actual sources and a proper argument to counter my point. Temporary 1010 (talk) 13:15, 17 September 2023 (UTC)
Please understand I'm not against your edits nor am I with an agenda to revert them. I'm just one of the editors there and not the only one. In general, changes such as unsourced or improperly sourced ones (see WP:RS), original research (see WP:OR), debatable opinions without consensus, outdated or refuted ideas, etc. will be reverted by other editors. For example, I don't think the link that you just added would qualify as a reliable one. Hence the revert. I request you not to make such changes in the article, but rather start a discussion regarding these in the respective talk pages with proper sources to gain consensus from fellow editors regarding the changes that you're suggesting. Any changes made without discussing will have the risk of getting reverted by others sooner or later (not necessarily by me). Hope you understand. Thanks. Rasnaboy (talk) 14:14, 17 September 2023 (UTC)
How is what I sent not reliable? It is a direct link to a PCA based calculator.
https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC6822619/ Here is a genetic paper proving my point then. It is from Harvard. Temporary 1010 (talk) 15:28, 17 September 2023 (UTC)
I'm not sure if this will be considered too technical to be included in generic articles like Tamil Brahmin, Iyengar, Iyer, etc. Please start a discussion in the articles and let's wait for reviewers to comment in order to gain consensus. Thanks. Rasnaboy (talk) 18:07, 17 September 2023 (UTC)
I have shared the link. How can something be "too technical" You asked for proof I have attached proof to back my point. Tamil Brahmins are their own ethnicity; lumping them with "Tamil people" is blatantly wrong even from a genetic point of view. Their vedic culture, origins, linguistic affinities to Sanskrit as an ancestral mother tongue, reverence to Northern sites, Gotras tracing back to North India and sanskritized Tamil dialect all speak for itself.
Why do you keep insisting they are the same? Just because of some "linguistic bond"? It makes little sense with due respect to you. Temporary 1010 (talk) 18:54, 17 September 2023 (UTC)

Not mainly Shaivism

Hi Rasnaboy, Tamil religion was not mainly shaivism it was Kaumaram and Vaishnavism. Paripadal of the ettuthokai mentions Vishnu and Skandha and not Shiva. In fact Vishnu was considerd as the most refered god according to Mu. Varadarajan and Devaneya Pavanar. Do not add wrong information that Shaivism was prominent even Kaumaram and Vaishnavism was prominent. Thiruvalluvar mentions Vishnu in his couplets 610 and 1103 and Lakshmi in several other couplets but doesn't mention Shiva or Murugan anywhere. Narayanan Iyengar (talk) 10:23, 12 September 2023 (UTC)

Hi. Good to know that. Please go ahead and add the info if you have reliable sources. I did not add any wrong information but only reverted what I saw as sourceless additions and needless replacements. You're most welcome to add information with proper sources without tampering the existing sourced contents. Thanks. Rasnaboy (talk) 11:15, 12 September 2023 (UTC)

I could've added one while reverting your edits yesterday but did not do only for the same reason. Let's assume good faith while contributing to Wikipedia. Will respond in the article's talk page. Rasnaboy (talk) 08:55, 20 September 2023 (UTC)
I recognized your name at least, because you frequently revert my corrections with, "Last good version," when I have added my reasoning for correction as reference to legal Act establishing the Municipal Corporation. That is not constructive. While I have ignored and avoided adding warning templates previously, I added this time because I clearly left an explanation in Talk Page in addition to edit summary, and you still reverted the edit.
However, I appreciate your change in attitude and seriously considering the reasoning behind my correction this time. Thank you. Wiki6995 (talk) 09:21, 20 September 2023 (UTC)
Cool. "Last good version" is generally used for very generic reverts and that doesn't mean that it's ignoring your reasoning. It's for reverting any major changes made without consensus, as you did there. I did not revert it this time because I noticed you've started a discussion on the talk page. Rasnaboy (talk)

Dear @Rasnaboy: I doubt "consensus" would override the legally accurate information. The status of the city is clear and unambiguous in the Tambaram City Municipal Corporation Act, 2022, which states, "It [the Act] extends to the city of Tambaram." Please do not validate personal opinions contradictory to legal facts through the use of the term "consensus." Wiki6995 (talk) 11:00, 20 September 2023 (UTC)

Compulsory education

The government provides free 12 years of education for all children. Eighth Thailand's National Social and Economic Development Plan was also written to support the implementation of an education reform program. This program was later added to the 1997 Constitution of Thailand and gave access to all citizens. [136][137][138]

There has been a clear policy on providing 12 years free education for al1 children. This policy was also included in the Eighth National Social and Economic Development Plan. The new Constitution, promulgated in late 1997, also demands the govemment to provide 12-year free education for the people. https://unesdoc.unesco.org/ark:/48223/pf0000113535_eng

Help with first Wikipedia page?

Hi, I was contacted by you after finishing my ten edits. I have written a page about a work of public art in Lafayette, Indiana. I wanted to ask if you could look at it and see if it acceptable for publication? The page is in my Sandbox: User:CusterDome/sandbox/1 It would be great if you could do this. Thanks!

Aaron McNeely (CusterDome) CusterDome (talk) 02:12, 27 October 2023 (UTC)

Hi @CusterDome:. Welcome to Wikipedia. That's a nice write-up and an interesting read, indeed. It'll be considered a stub. I think it would qualify for a "start" class if we add a couple of additional sections. I also feel the article can be trimmed further by removing, say, some undue elements (e.g., simply saying "The sculpture is said to have cost around $10,000" rather than "The Board's director, Albert P. Stewart, said the sculpture had cost around $10,000"). If you're able to expand it further, we can divide the contents into sections such as "History" (where we can have all construction-related details), "Design" (for all dimension-related details), etc. We may also need to add more sources then. Overall, it's a nice effort. Once these are fixed, you can create the article using the article creation wizard. Maybe will try to trim it a bit if you permit. Happy editing. Image in an article

Hi. Thank you for your contributions in the article Krishnagiri district. I would like to say that Betrayaswamy temple is well known and gets lot of crowd during festivals. so that temple would be a better place than Nageshwaraswamy temple in Hosur which i personally do not know. I am not against Shaivism and Kaumaram. I did mention these statements in certain places "According to Kamil Zvelebil, Vishnu was considered ageless (The god who stays for ever) of Tamils where as Skanda was considered young and a personal god of Tamils.[1] " i did add many pictures of Muruga too. The Karamadai Ranganathaswamy temple is also famous and it has a long history. I'm reverting the image of Krishnagiri district. In case you're not sure, please start a discussion on the talk page to get other editors' views. Thank you again for all your contributions. Narayanan Iyengar (talk) 12:11, 2 September 2023 (UTC)

Hi @Narayanan Iyengar:. When Kamil Zvelebil mentions "Vishnu is considered ageless" or "Skanda was a personal god" that's for the sake of the topic he's discussing about, which need not be mentioned in boldface in every literature or temple article that has a mention about Vishnu or Skanda, giving WP:UNDUE weight in that article. If required, we can mention that in Vishnu article and Karthikeya article (main articles), respectively, in the section describing that deity. I see you're mentioning this in several articles in boldface where it is not needed at all. There's the risk of being accused of coatracking. Hope you understand. Please go ahead with reverting my edit in Krishnagiri district article so long as the Betrayaswamy temple attracts more footfall that the Hosur temple. Since I'm only reviewing your edits and not initiating the new changes, I need not necessarily start any discussion but I shall try to give my opinion along with other editors if you start one. Thank you. Rasnaboy (talk) 13:56, 2 September 2023 (UTC)

Can you take care of solving the three links to disambiguation pages at Template:Tirukkural. And making the relationship between de Tirukkural and the new group of teachings more clear? Due to the lack of clarity, I can not solve them myself, as it would be gambling from my side. So, please? The Banner talk 19:25, 29 November 2023 (UTC)

@The Banner: All the links under "Concepts", as far as I can see, are disambiguated. I presume you're talking about the double terms pertaining to the core teachings (Karma/destiny, love/kindness, and vegetarianism/veganism). The core teachings in the Kural are more generic that in some instances (as these) it requires more than one term to cover the continuum. For instance, "Uul" is a broad subject that includes fate, destiny, karma, unchangeable sequence of outcomes, etc. "Anbu" refers to love, loving kindness, affection, indiscriminate affinity towards fellow beings, etc. "Pulaal marutthal" refers to complete abstinence from flesh, killing, violence, harm, and so forth, which covers mainstream vegetarianism, moral vegetarianism or ethical veganism, plant-based lifestyle, etc. Would appreciate if you could be more specific as to which one needs to be fixed. Will be glad to fix them. Thanks. Rasnaboy (talk) 03:29, 30 November 2023 (UTC)

Hi. Cool. This is a very strange comment/reaction I've come across so far. I don't remember how I landed on to your talk page. We normally welcome new users with welcome message, and I do it regularly. I probably thought you were a new user and I did it as a sign of goodwill gesture. You can feel free to delete it (or request an admin to do so). I'm not an administrator, so I don't have the right to delete it but only create it. As far as I know, welcoming a fellow Wikipedian is not considered an act of infringement because the intent is plain and simple. Anyway, no problem. I respect your privacy. Please go ahead and raise a request for deletion (sorry, I don't know that procedure to help you with that). Cheers. Rasnaboy (talk) 16:08, 4 January 2024 (UTC)
