Your post, with respect there is no controvosy about Churchill blaming Baldwin, Churchill lied. He knew what Baldwin said, and if he didnt then he could check tthe quotation from Hansard what he in fact wrote was to completely falsify what Baldwin said. By selective editing he made Baldwin appear to say that in the 1935 election he had opposed rearmament as it was electorally unpopular. In fact Baldwin was referring to a by election in 1933 and he campaigned for rearmament in 1935. See the references cited in the text.

And it is a lie, the whole issue had been debated when Guilty Men was first published. See for example Q Hogg, The Left was never Right. Its suggested taht one reason Churchill didnt publish The Gathering Storm in Baldwins lifetime was that Churchill knew he was lying and he didn't want Baldwin to sue for defamation. With respect again I will revert the article 1300 Eastern Australian Standard time unless you can give me a good reason not to.

Having said all of that welcome to Wikipedia. I hope you will have fun and learn a lot. I already have. Best wishes Backnumber1662 (talk) 03:09, 6 July 2008 (UTC)

I suggest we move this discussion to the Churchill talk page. Will respond there RayAYang (talk) 03:14, 6 July 2008 (UTC)

Ines, please do try to clean up the article ASAP, taking care to find good sources. As I understand it, once an article is published in the namespace, anybody can read it. RayAYang (talk) 23:21, 8 July 2008 (UTC)

Notability Time Will Tell (Robert Cray album)

Hi I see you put a notability tag on Time Will Tell (Robert Cray album). I have edited it since (I wasn't the creator but was patrolling and put 10 minutes into it to tidy it up. I think it looks a little bit better now. Robert Cray is a well known artist and all of his albums should really havea page. Is it OK if I remove the tag? I may add some more reviews and an image st some time (or leave it up to someone else). Wading through some of his other albums now (had no intention of doing so but such is WP. Let me know.... --BustOut' (talk) 16:15, 10 July 2008 (UTC)

Hi - As per WP:MUSIC, albums of notable artists are not necessarily notable in and of themselves. If you think this particular album is notable, go ahead and find some sources, and wipe my tag. Best, RayAYang (talk) 16:17, 10 July 2008 (UTC)
Fair Point - will do a bit more work and see. thanks for the answer --BustOut' (talk) 16:20, 10 July 2008 (UTC)

i need help

hey, i'm new here and i'm from austria

the articles, like Jungle Rot i translated from german. as you may saw, i corrected the article many times, but there are still mistakes. today, i made some articles from the discography of Eisregen. now i wanted to add some covers of the lps, but i don't know how to upload pictures on wikimedia, because i don't know which license they have, when i scan the covers in. can you help me a little? please answer in "easy-english", because to understand english is much difficulter than to translate something S-F-K-P-E (talk) 19:19, 10 July 2008 (UTC)

Hi. I've not uploaded images before, so I might not be the best person to ask. You may want to look at Wikipedia:Uploading_images. If you don't know about licenses, you may have copyright issues. You may also want to look at the German Wikipedia. Best, RayAYang (talk) 19:23, 10 July 2008 (UTC)

i've looked in the german wikipedia too, but i don't know what to choose, i think i won't upload images. i continue improving metal-band-articles, may i ask you some questions in the future, if i am allowed to. thanks for your answers S-F-K-P-E (talk) 19:44, 10 July 2008 (UTC)

AfD nomination of The FLOW Devil

An article that you have been involved in editing, The FLOW Devil, has been listed for deletion. If you are interested in the deletion discussion, please participate by adding your comments at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/The FLOW Devil. Thank you. Do you want to opt out of receiving this notice? GlassCobra 21:05, 10 July 2008 (UTC)

Ryan herrberrt

No need to tag an article for deletion after another tag has already been added :). Ironholds 21:42, 10 July 2008 (UTC)

I think our tags probably intersected each other in time. I was using Twinkle, or I would've gotten an edit conflict :) RayAYang (talk) 21:43, 10 July 2008 (UTC)

Blueberry Yum Yum (song)

I see that you have proposed the article Blueberry Yum Yum (song) for deletion. I would like to ask you: would this article would still fall short of the criteria for inclusion even if I included notable resources? I do not think it has been selected for any awards or anything, but I would be very willing to find notable resources for it if this would make it up to includable status. NOTE: I just created this article and it is still under construction. Thank you for your time, Ζρς ι'β' ¡hábleme! 21:43, 10 July 2008 (UTC)

If the song is notable in itself, go ahead and cite sources for its notability, and remove the deletion tag after you've put in those sources. :) RayAYang (talk) 21:44, 10 July 2008 (UTC)

General Graphics Exhibits

Question on General Graphics Exhibits - I work closely with Hellmuth, Obata and Kassabaum which does have a wiki page....as this is my first time writing this I want to post facts about my company and do a trial edit until it meets guidelines...obviously I should have deleted quotes..but the general factual info was taking from an independent Fortune magazine article. Currently their are no exhibition companies listed on wikipedia and only a small paragraph on exhibition design...as architectual companies get to post info on their companies I do not see why I can not post info on exhibition design. 2 of my employee teach at the college level in San Francisco and I would like to get more info out on this field. Is there a way I can edit an article to get approval before it is just deleted and i have to start from scratch again? Cradovich (talk) 22:00, 8 July 2008 (UTC)

I think in general it's a very bad idea to write about your own company. See the spam guidelines for why. However, for general reference, if you want to write an article and work to get it in shape, it is recommended you create your own sandbox where you can make sure there are adequate references, etc., before posting. RayAYang (talk) 22:06, 8 July 2008 (UTC)

Land of The Sun (Single)

Many thanks for the tag and caution. I hope that I have now established a sufficiently strong third party reference. Please let me know. Spence's general songwriting is regarded as quite significant (his 1967 song "Omaha", with Moby Grape, was recently selected by Rolling Stone as one of the "Top 100 Guitar Songs of All Time") and this is why this apparently last recording is proposed to be the topic of separate discussion.

Dreadarthur (talk) 22:38, 10 July 2008 (UTC)

I see from an earlier posting that you suggest removing the caution if the writer believes that the concerns have been addressed. In this case, since I am fairly new to this, I would appreciate it if you could have a look at how I have addressed your concerns. I am reluctant to remove your caution until things seem to be acceptable from your perspective. Many thanks in advance.

Dreadarthur (talk) 02:14, 11 July 2008 (UTC)

"Most songs do not merit an article and should redirect to another relevant article, such as for a prominent album or for the artist who wrote or prominently performed the song. Songs that have been ranked on national or significant music charts, that have won significant awards or honors or that have been performed independently by several notable artists, bands or groups are probably notable. A separate article is only appropriate when there is enough verifiable material to warrant a reasonably detailed article; articles unlikely ever to grow beyond stubs should be merged to articles about an artist or album." -- from WP:MUSIC I believe that standard is controlling here. In this case, I think you've met that guideline, and I'll remove the notability tag. But other editors may differ. RayAYang (talk) 02:25, 11 July 2008 (UTC)

Many thanks for your sentiments and judgment here.

User:Ryan Articles

Good catch! I've tagged that user's talk page as a possible {{sockpuppet}}; I'm watching (at least until I leave the office; hopefully traffic dies down soon, which is what I'm waiting on), and if he creates again, that sock account will get blocked. —C.Fred (talk) 22:40, 10 July 2008 (UTC)

Hello, I just created a new page for Starving Students, Inc. but you put in a deletion of the page. The page is a not an advertisement, as I have seen many other wikipages about companies up. I also see a similar moving company Two Men and a Truck International that has a wikipedia page. I disagree it is an advertisement, when all the information provided is based factual. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Mayonnaise18 (talkcontribs) 22:52, 10 July 2008 (UTC)

Please see WP:SPAM and Wikipedia's other spam policies. You had a short blurb containing non-neutral uncited "facts" about the company followed with a link to the website. Sounds like spam to me. RayAYang (talk) 22:58, 10 July 2008 (UTC)
As RayAYang stated please have a look at WP:SPAM and also WP:COMPANY. Two men and a truck international is another advertising article which I have tagged for WP:PROD. Cheers, Nk.sheridan   Talk 23:43, 10 July 2008 (UTC)

BGVIP.TV

Dear RayAYang, the website is notable since it is integral part of the Bulgarian internet websharing. Please cancel the speedy deletion. Regards. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Dragoburaggo (talkcontribs) 18:07, 12 July 2008 (UTC)

Feel free to contest on the talk page with your comments. However, I think that without reliable sources to assert the website's notability, your chances are poor. Best, Ray Yang (talk) 18:10, 12 July 2008 (UTC)

academics

Full professors at major universities who have written multiple books published by major academic presses are always found notable when challenged at AfD. Don't nominate them for speedy. Even indicating a published book for anyone (other than self-published) is enough of an indication of importance to pass speedy, though not necessarily an AfD. But Graham N. Stanton will pass AfD also. 18:48, 12 July 2008 (UTC)

Gotcha. Thanks. I guess I'm a little less awed by the "full professor at major university" thing -- didn't know others considered it an assertion of importance :) Still learning ... Ray Yang (talk) 18:51, 12 July 2008 (UTC)
quite apart from the professorship, check the publications list: any author on any subject with a large number of books published by reputable publishers will usually be found notable, since they get reviews. The most useful thing to do for such articles is to look for reviews and add the references to them--sometimes Google Scholar will find them, sometimes.
And remember the standard for CSD A7 -- no indication or assertion of importance or significance -- this is much much lower than the standard for WP:N. Almost anything in good faith that someone might reasonably think important will pass. There is also a good solution when you are in doubt: WP:Prod.
The way to find out what is acceptable here is hang around WP:AfD debates once in a while. DGG (talk) 19:02, 12 July 2008 (UTC)

Dear Ray

Somebody edited this article and removed those speedy deletion messages. I really appreciate that! But I did not delete any of these messages. I am new to Wikipedia editing section and still learning. Anyway thanks for the messages and guidelines. Cheers! The painter Pierre Amiel

I do not know if the Jain writer Pierre Amiel is the same person as the artist described at http://pagesperso-orange.fr/pierre.amiel/en/artist/bio/bio.htm , but perhaps he is notable as a painter. --Eastmain (talk) 03:44, 13 July 2008 (UTC)

Yeah, I don't know. If separate people, it looks like the painter may be notable, even if the writer is not. Ray Yang (talk) 05:33, 13 July 2008 (UTC)

Speedy deletions of articles at AfD

I recommend against tagging an article at AfD for speedy deletion. If the AfD is interrupted by a speedy deletion, the original creator may decide to recreate the article, and G4 will not apply. --Eastmain (talk) 03:44, 13 July 2008 (UTC)

Ah. I hadn't thought of that. Thanks. I'll bear that in mind. Ray Yang (talk) 05:32, 13 July 2008 (UTC)

Maskmelin

For what it's worth, Misterscriblerius has been spamming his incoherently-translated "anagram of Maskelin" conspiracy theory across tenuously-related articles for months, mostly from anonymous IP addresses (check the history of Jasper Maskelyne). The LiveJournal he usually links to (which is where he gets all the content he's posting) has been spam blacklisted as a result. --McGeddon (talk) 17:28, 13 July 2008 (UTC)

I removed the prod after looking at WP:BK. The article clearly passes criteion 1. Homotlfqa83 (talk) 17:30, 13 July 2008 (UTC)

Be so kind as to put them in the article? Thanks, Ray Yang (talk) 17:32, 13 July 2008 (UTC)

I do not know how to link to a web page. I read the paper ny times review also. Homotlfqa83 (talk) 17:48, 13 July 2008 (UTC)

WP:CITE will walk you through it, if you would be so kind. If you have trouble, just tell me here which day of the New York Times it came up in, and I'll go find it. Best, Ray Yang (talk) 17:51, 13 July 2008 (UTC)

SPE CERTIFIED PETROLEUM PROFESSIONAL

You left the source note for this. If you would have taken the time to check the footnotes you would have seen the sources

trueblood (talk) 19:40, 13 July 2008 (UTC)

The tag was left due to the lack of reliable, third-party sources. Ray Yang (talk) 21:10, 13 July 2008 (UTC)

Why dont you look it up. Under Society of Petroleum Engineers. They are the society for this. So that is reliable information. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 75.15.196.106 (talk) 22:23, 13 July 2008 (UTC)

I have been editing for over 3 years, so I will appreciate if you would stop vandalising the pages.

trueblood (talk) 22:24, 13 July 2008 (UTC)

Pardon me. I wasn't aware that seniority on Wikipedia conferred the right to ignore policy regarding third-party sources for articles, or to throw around gratuitous accusations of vandalism. Where do I report for my self-criticism, comrade? Ray Yang (talk) 22:31, 13 July 2008 (UTC)
